I have eaten here, Richmond Highway, VA, a few times. This is Outback Steakhouse, a chain restaurant, so you should know what the menu is. The food has been fine and on par with other Outbacks. The problem is that this particular restaurant is just slow. The staff seems to be buzzing around at a decent pace, but there is just something that lacks any sort of urgency at this Outback. Drinks can take 10 to 15 minutes to get as a rule and then food comes out 15 to 20 minutes after ordering and that is just the salad. I was here a few nights ago and had Terrel as a server. He was very attentive and professional. He, in my opinion, was the best server I have had there. Other servers have been polite, but after taking my food order, I didn't see them again until the check was dropped. I don't know if staffing levels are an issue or if both the bar and kitchen are the issue; maybe all three. read more

We should have known better than to order from here but oh well. May I suggest that if your broccoli is do old it's wilted and yellow, throw it out or serve another vegetable. I had a curbside pick-up order Friday, 7/14, and when I had my order, it said it would be ready at 9:23. While I didn't get any confirmation on my order being ready, I went on and went to the restaurant to pick my order up. I arrived and had to wait 20+ minutes to get my food. That wasn't brought to me because I had to get it myself. I would have to wait longer if I didn't go in. I tried calling, and no one answered the phone. As I walk In, the manager and servers are gathered together and chatting and ignoring the phones. I would have guessed it was busy due to the lack of answers, but it was so empty I was curious about why no one answered. The manager apologized and took charge, and gave me my meal. He was sympathetic and understood my frustration, had told me it went in order, but my order was ready at 9:23 pm, and I went inside at 9:51 pm. The little communication. This bothers me because I tip but why should I be tipping if I have to get it myself. I get my food and I finally go home and since it had taken a while I thought it would have been warm, because as I was told it goes in order, so my guess I thought it wasn't ready. But guess again it was cold. I have to go back and then hear the curbside girls say this bitch, as I open the door. Which I had to or else I wasn't sure how long I would have to wait. Since the first time had to wait more than 20 mins while having cold food seems reasonable to be upset. And then to be asked does this look better to you . I don't get how I am paying for food to be warm and edible and I get questioned? All I know they could have just reheated what I asked for a new one to be made, instead of handing me a new order. We came here for dinner last night. We were able to get a table right away. Our server was Tauheed. He was EXCELLENT!! He was fun to talk with and left us wanting for nothing. He refilled drinks and checked on us at appropriate times. Food was delicious with good portion sizes. My son really wanted ribs and devoured them. After a very bad food allergic reaction, Outback has become a favorite as I have no issues there. Plus, service is always great and food is delicious. Thanks for the great meal! read more

I normally love Outback Patrons, but overall, I was disappointed in the service because of the following: 1. I tried to order online for delivery and was not able. It took me a while to realize that the order could not be completed because of timing. It was close to 10pm and the store closed at 11pm. I have to go with this reason because it's all that makes sense. 2. Ordered curbside to pick up. I checked each box for accuracy, get home and my steak was beyond rare (ordered Medium well). Looks like they added it to the grill for color. Needless to say I had to put it in the microwave and that destroyed the expectation even more. The rest of the order was not hot in temperature although we followed the directions for pick up. I called in to speak with a manager. I must say she was attentive and offered to refund the tab. I believe her name was Carla and I thank her very much because by this time they were closed. She even offered to ensure our needs were met during our next visit. The steak I ordered was tasty and cooked properly. Same too for the baked potato. Service, though, was spotty at best. The meal was supposed to come with a second side, and the server even came out to make sure he got the correct choice. Not that it mattered, because the second side never was served. For that matter, neither was the soup which I ordered as an appetizer. My spouse, who ordered a fried chicken sandwich, instead, received a (more expensive) fried chicken tenders entrée. Want to be clear this review is for the people who cook in the back and not Reina who works at the bar area. Reina was nice and very professional. However the NY strip steak I order medium well never came out medium well. The first time it was rare. As soon as I cut into it blood was just coming out. I told the server and she apologized and took it back. A few minutes later 2nd time and this time it was medium. At this point I was done my appetite was done. I just said take it back. Last time coming to this establishment. Another thing I was told to order a Rib Eye next time instead of a NY strip steak because it would be cook the way I want it. I have been to this location several times service is usually spotty. We will typically get the takeout by that can also be shorty. Outback used to be a great chain but I've found over time they've gone downhill. The steak quesadillas are amazing!! You should order and enjoy just as we did!! The salmon is also great. The quality of food on my last visit wasn't the complaint at all! I quite enjoyed most everything! My complaint lies in the service (or lack of) in checking the items orders for takeout. I ordered a salad, and asked for extra dressing, I received no dressing. Yes I know mistakes happen, but how do you forget salad dressing for a salad?? I don't enjoy dry salads! I have been to many outback's and this was one was one of my least favorites food-wise. Service here is great so props for that. However, I ordered the boomeritas for drink-they we're OK but too sweet for me, cheese fries as an appetizer- cheese was cold and not fully melted- and a chicken dish for dinner. The chicken was pretty good but my broccoli had a bug inside of it. Clearly was not washed properly. I understand that these things happen but it was just unsettling to see that in my food. On August 12th, My friend and I had a delicious lunch at this Outback. We was immediately greeted by our server and place an order of Bloom Petals. The Bloom Petals are the best invention since the Blooming Onions. It's a smaller portion for someone who never eats much of the large portion of Blooming Onion like myself. I still hardly put a dent in the Petals. They are always so good especially the Bloom sauce. I need the recipe. We order the Hot Kookaburra Wings and Chicken and Shrimp Pasta with Mushrooms. I initially wanted to order the Toowoomba Pasta, but it wasn't on their menu and the server was really sure what pasta I was even talking about. Maybe Toowoomba Pasta is only at select locations or was discontinued. Our initial server came and introduced to our new server, letting up know that he was going to be taking care of us for the remainder time. The pasta had a nice size seasoned chicken breast and 6 grilled shrimp. The food was delicious! Our server was attentive and very friendly. The manager Jennifer came and introduced herself. She wanted to ensure that we were satisfied with the food and service. We had a great conversation about her new position at my neighboring Outback in Oxon Hill. I really had a great experience at this Outback and look forward to visiting Jennifer at the Oxon Hill store in the future. The only recommendation I have for Outback Steakhouse as a company is to expand their Dessert menu. They only offered one item that did not contain some type of nut product in it. Tree nuts are now a very common allergen and I was surprise to see all the "good" desserts contain either Almond Toffee, Pecans, or Coconuts. Really sad that we gave it a try. Jerome was a good waiter but the kitchen sent out an iceberg lettuce salad instead of mixed greens for the steak salad. She also left out the pecans and other promoted ingredients in the menu description. She also gave straight vinaigrette instead of the Dutch creamy vinaigrette and piled a small bit it steak on top of a small sprinkle of blue cheese. Waiter returned and took it back the show the manager who agreed it was made wrong and the "cook" was new. The "cook" threw a few nuts over the top and sent it back out with the same tired iceberg lettuce and now cold, rare steak. Lost my appetite. Waiter said he didn't realize the lettuce was supposed to be mixed greens like the menu said and the cook said it was 50-50. Looking at the hunks of whitish and yellow pieces I just couldn't stomach it. I showed him the brown pieces of lettuce I pulled off and noted there was no other lettuce but the yellowish iceberg. He saw and understood. Took it away and off the bill. We didn't make a fuss and usually don't have to send food back but this was unappetizing, unhealthy and after 2 tries receiving the wrong salad, we decided to leave. My companion boxed his order of dried out macaroni and meatloaf up and we asked for the check. I don't know if it was ever a good place to eat, but it was our first time eating there. Don't offer delivery service if you don't have the staffing to check orders before they leave the store. This is not my first time having to call about something left out of my order (last time I had to drive to the store to get the omitted item!). This time I called and asked for the item to be brought to me. While it was brought to me in about 45 minutes, this is a pattern of carelessness (I even wrote in the directions on my order to double check it) that seems endemic to this location. My mother in law asked to go to Outback for her birthday. When we walked in there wasn't any one available for at least 3 minutes. After we were seated we waited about 5 minutes for a server or at least some water. After a little bit I went, found the manager and let him know about our displeasure. Everything here was disgusting. Imagine your worst dining experience but now imagine it with 300 pounds of horseradish. First of all, we had no idea what our server was saying we had to ask for clarification several times. The table was also dirty it had some sticky substance on it. I attached a photo. We ordered a blooming onions and it was disgusting. It was soggy, it was undercooked, you could see the batter and the flour used to cook it. There was HAIR in it (photos attached.) it tasted like horseradish, I felt like I was eating something dipped in wasabi. We got the hand breaded shrimp, it had no flavor. The breading was so salty that my lips started stinging while eating them. And to top it off, the cocktail sauce was literally horseradish, I dipped a shrimp in it thinking it was going to be cocktail sauce and then my eyes started watering and I realized, although it was red, it was STRAIGHT HORSERADISH. Ive read the reviews for this location and I have to say I can't say the same. I guess we just know what to order. Today we ordered the loaded cheese fries, hot wings, and bloomin' onion burger. Ok, before we get too deep into it, this outback is situated on rt 1 which is like the Tijuana of Alexandria. Yup, RT 1 is dark, sketchy, and filled with nefarious characters, but that being said, this place still pulls them in. The reason for this is simple, it is an outback and pretty much offers the same quality of food that you had in New York, Miami, or Cleavland. Yes, the prime rib is always good here and sides are solid as ever. This brings me to my next issue and that is that many of this stores low reviews seem to stem from a long wait and poor sevice. To that I say head directly to the bar and bypass the wait. You are bound to have a better experience, but just remember, Mate, you're still dinning in RT 1 and a drunken magic kangaroo can change that fact. read more

This has been the WORST steak experience I ever ever had. First of all they ruined not one, but two porterhouse cuts! I asked for rare and it came out medium well. The second came out rare, but it was still cold. The staff are very nice but it's only 5:20pm and the wait time is already pretty long. I can see why this Outback has such low reviews, and I will never be coming back. *EDIT* At the end of the meal we received the FULL check. So I was in the area around 2pm,on the 01/29/20 not eating at a Outback Steakhouse for a while decided to pop inn for lunch. The best lamb chop from temperature to how it was seasoned,mash potatoes and the broccoli were to perfection. I sat @ the Bar even though I don't drink,but let me tell you the most amazing bartender Terrell friendly,attentive & the food came out can see the steam.
