The last time I went to an Outback Steakhouse, Bill Clinton was still president and I must admit, I enjoyed my experience tonight. The service was fast and friendly. The food was good (for the price) but there's room for improvement. We got the rib-eye and porterhouse and requested medium and rare respectively. Rib-eye came out medium well and the porterhouse came out medium...which was fine. We were too hungry to send things back. The steaks were overseasoned and it was like a salt bomb. I'd suggest to ask for light seasoning. Their fries are snappy outside and creamy inside. The coconut shrimp is exactly as I remembered some 20 years ago and should be the new staple instead of the bloomin onion. Our server Jasmine was especially friendly, attentive, and efficient. I'd suggest to ask to sit in her section if you come here. Other than the over-seasoned steak, I hope management reads this and tend to the bathroom more. We've been visiting this establishment for over 10 years, it was our to go steak place close to home. We recently visited and ordered our usual. The service was always great, except the one time previous to this recent visit, we were seated and no one ever came to our table and others were seated after us and they were serviced immediately. Told the manager walking around that no one had come to our table too which he said it was busy, not busy for the ones after us. After 25 minutes of none of the servers acknowledging us, we left. Now back to this recent visit, they served my husband spoiled meat, he asked for me to taste it, I wanted to vomit, it was disgusting. Told the waiter and then the manager came and he apologized and my husband was served a new steak. He didn't eat it and I couldn't finish my dinner, the taste of the spoiled first steak lingered, that's how disgusting it was, there's no way they didn't know this was spoiled meat. Ask for to go boxes but we should've left everything there because I threw it away when we got home. What also bothered me is when I looked at the bill, it said they had comped one of our steaks, the spoiled steak was already billed, they wanted to reflect as if they were doing us a favor. I realize this restaurant chain has nothing to do with Australian cuisine, but I do really enjoy my experience every time I visit this location. Just don't set your expectations too high! Their steaks are really good. I usually opt for the boneless ribeye medium-rare served with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. If I am particularly hungry, I also order a Caesar salad and a French onion soup. As for the appetizers, I choose the bloomin' onion and Aussie cheese fries. The bloomin' onion comes alongside a slightly spicy mayo-based dipping sauce and the cheese fries are served with a side of ranch dressing. Another bonus is the free pumpernickel bread and complimentary butter! I never had a problem with their service and I make sure to leave a nice tip as I leave. I went here a couple times, and honestly it was not too good. Last time I went there, the forks and other utensils were dirty. One of the glasses was also dirty. It was very pretty nasty. They also did not give us straws at first. When we got the bread, it was pretty yummy! They also gave us water with the bread. We ordered a bloomin onion, and it was very good, but it seemed to be smaller in size. Then once the actual food came in, a number of complaints also came in. For one, my father's steak was not cooked to be well done. This has happened almost every time we came. My little sister's Mac and cheese was horrible. I tried it, and it tasted as though the cheese had rotted. The waiter was so amazing. Prime rib takes several hours so that is not an option for lunch unless there food from day before (but who wants leftovers). Someone's dish is always not ready. While having dinner I noticed the manager I'm guessing walked over to the table in front of us and asked how everything was going, he also walked over to the table across from us and asked them too. then I heard him walk over to the table behind us and asked them how everything was going but not once asked us how our dinner was going. Coming here today brings good memories. It is one of my favorite chain restaurants during those days that dining out is a special thing to do with the growing family. It was quiet when we walked in. We were seated right away. Food was served quickly. Our waiter was super friendly. My husband and I ordered the Aussie appetizer sampler and the chicken wings. Nothing like that classic bloomin' onion to go with a hearty 18oz sirloin steak. I have always been a huge fan of outback and my most recent visit reinforced that. First off they have amazing drink deals. I'd highly recommend the Boomarita which is a sampling of all their flavored margaritas served on a long boomerang platter. It's a great drink option if you love margaritas but can never decide on a single flavor. It's also a great deal at around $7 and you get 4 different flavors to try. They're all delicious and reasonably strong. Started with the bloomin' onion and the kookaburra wings. The bloomin' onion is a must have at Outback; a scored and fanned out onion gets fried in batter and served with spicy mayo sauce. It's amazing and perfect to share with the table almost like a fancy onion ring. I got the 18oz sirloin with herbed bistro butter which was a huge portion of meet and comes with baked potato and side. It was cooked on the rarer side (I got medium rare) so keep that in mind when you order. The flavor of the meet was great and the baked potato was loaded to perfection. I'm so sad to leave this review. The food at this outback was just so bad. It wasn't the fault of the servers - they were wonderful, very attentive, and clearly suffering the inattention of whomever is making the decisions at this franchise outpost. I wish I knew who THAT was, I'd love to call them out by name. My son ordered the Filet and Lobster tail, and his meal was perfectly hot and his steak was perfectly cooked. But there was no Koala on his Pina Koala, and that was featured on the menu. Don't put out a menu you can't fulfill. That said, his meal was the only one that didn't go home to the dog. Our meal was shameful, for a steakhouse. We (husband, daughter, and me, the person who chose the venue) ordered the Outback Style Prime Rib, from the slow roasted menu. All three of us ordered medium rare. Two got medium well, and one well done. We had three different thickness of steaks. There was no horseradish sauce (supposed to come with this upstyle), and when we asked for it, got small dishes of ground horseradish. WTF??? I picked this place based on reviews for this location, and because I love a good steakhouse meal. And I was celebrating my 60th birthday, low-key. What a complete miss. Don't eat here. We go to Outback in Bay Terrace usually once or twice a month. The food is good, fairly priced, and convenient. This review is to compliment our waiter Nicholas. He was super polite, efficient, friendly, and knowledgable. He immediately asked if we had signed up for the frequent dining phone number program and checked to see if we had any discounts available. He checked on us several times throughout the meal. He did an excellent job, and we left him a great tip based on the bill before my $15 discount was deducted. Nicholas is an asset to Outback. I grew up in Bayside and my family would often come to Outback Steakhouse for random dinner nights. I feel like some days here are better than others but my last experience was rather disappointing (before COVID). There weren't many tables filled so they didn't look too busy but our food took forever to come out. The service was really slow and the server apologized but he constantly forgot about our requests for things like utensils, condiments, or refill on drinks. He wasn't very attentive and rarely checked on us, making it hard to get what we needed. We ended up asking another waiter where our food was when it was taking too long. The ribs here are good though. The meat is very tender and juicy; they also fall off the bones easily. The sauce gives it a lot of flavor. I also enjoy their baked potatoes with butter - but nothing really special about them since anyone can bake a potato. I enjoy the complimentary honey whole wheat bread they give with whipped butter. This might be my favorite outback to go to. Standing in the front counter waiting to be seated and sampling food was brought to us while waiting. There were also glass cups if we wanted citrus water. I waited almost 30 minutes and finally the host took us to a table. I mean that was a pretty long wait on a weekday. Then when we got there, The chair was totally dirty and that was the most disappointing thing of the night. Luckily, the waitress came over and clean it up but that was still unacceptable. We ordered a t-bone which came with two sides and a burger with fries. The t-bone was cook as medium rare and it was good. The server made an except to one of my side when I requested grill zucchini instead of steam and that really make up for not cleaning up. The burger was just a regular burger with nothing special.
