I usually enjoy my visits at Outback, this one however was not so great. We went during what I assume is their dinner rush and the host seemed a little annoyed. Not a big deal, it takes a lot to ruin my experience. When's we were finally sat it took about 15 minuets to get our drinks ordered. We tried their new volcano shrimp and ordered the standard steak entrees. The volcano shrimp has good flavor but the sauce was so thick and creamy, it would be better drizzled over the top rather than tossed in the sauce. My steak medallions were overcooked, I asked for medium and it was very well done. Our server asked if we wanted our salads now, since you have time? Which made me unhappy since we had a movie we had purchased tickets for, so assuming I wanted to wait extra was inappropriate. Overall it was less than what I expected. read more

Three of the four of our group had never eaten at an Outback, but it happened to be right across the street from out hotel and we had already dropped off our rental car, so we thought we'd give it a try, even though it had been at least 15 years since I had eaten at one. My expectations were not particularly high--just a decent meal. We started with the Bloomin' Onion, which was way too much for the four of us--it's still among the best fried onions any of us has eaten. One diner had a salad, which he said was good. My wife had an excellent soup (can't remember what kind). Our entrees included lobster tails, salmon and mixed veggies, and a small steak, and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Our server (Megan) overheard us talking about the fact that one of our group was celebrating his birthday, so she brought us a bowl of birthday cake a la mode (and four spoons) without being asked--she was great! A-OK is a perfect rating for last night's visit to Outback Steakhouse. In fact, I was anticipating it being a 1-2 star review so I was pleasantly surprised! The decor has changed a lot since the last time I've been to an Outback, a lot more pleasing. Service was pretty good too, with the exception that there was an error on one of our dining companion's potato, but that was taken care of quickly. My salad was fresh and crisp, and my rib-eye steak was prepared a perfect medium rare. I don't have any plans to rush back to Outback, we only went because we had an out of town guest staying at the hotel across the street prior to leaving early this AM. However, I would recommend this location if you are staying at one of the nearby hotels or have guests that are. read more

Can't rave about this restaurant but I can't knock it either. The worst part (for me) was that it's soooo far from downtown and took me almost 40 minutes to arrive. Why would I travel so far you ask? Cuz I had me a gift card - that's why. On Wednesdays they have a pretty good special for two people: two entrees, an appetizer, two soups or salads and a dessert for $25. Depending on your choice of entree you can get the fancy stuff for $35 for two people. We opted for the more pricey route. I had the prime rib which was good, not great. But the green beans were cooked to perfection. Crisp and flavorful - I actually enjoyed the side dish more than my entree. The date had sirloin and said it was ok. For those who care - the whole date itself was just "ok." Seems to be the theme of this place. For folks who live in the neighborhood I would say this is a decent restaurant in which to dine with the family. It was clean, well staffed and our server was attentive and polite. High marks for having Corona Light - can't find that most places. I wouldn't say I will make it a point to come back here but if I'm on my way to Kansas (aka - DIA) and I have the hankering for a steak before boarding a long flight I might consider this store an option. read more

Worst Outback and worst service I have ever received. Do NOT go here. Go to Applebee's or Uno Chicago Pizza next door. My wife and I have both been server's before and have nothing but empathy for servers. I have never been treated so poorly by another server in my life as i was treated by Outbacks server. Our server decided to talk to her fellow employees for 5 minutes instead of serving us while we were out of drinks, had needed ketchup and sauce. Outback server never came so we finished more than half our bloomin onion without any sauce or drinks. I finally was fed up and went up to the server and asked her for help. Instead if being apologetic and helpful, she got annoyed. Then when she finally came to our table, she commenced to clear dishes at our table and the next table instead of refilling our drinks. This type of behavior continued throughout the rest of the experience. When I talked to the manager, she said they couldn't do anything for us and only said sorry. Worst service. Worst management of the situation. Outback used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Now it is one of my least favorites. I'm a lawyer and would sue them if I could but Putback is just a waste of my time now. Don't waste your time nor your hard earned dollars at Outback. Go somewhere else if you want to save your money and sanity and be treated with respect. read more

We freakin love this place! Although it's a chain, it's literally less than a half a mile from my house. The service and food is consistently delicious. My go-to is definitely the "outback special," but I've had the bloomin burger (juicy, full of flavor, JUST GET IT!) I've also had the seared pepper ahi which is a fresh and light way to start out the meal. You can't go wrong with the perfectly seasoned and CRISPY kookaburra wings! I was excited to try the steakhouse quesadilla (after being pleased with so many of the other starters) but was sadly disappointed, it was missing an element of flavor and was quite frankly pretty bland. However, if you are in the area they are having a special right now the filet mignon/sirloin served with a lobster tail! Awesome deal! If your looking for a sweet way to end your night try the cheesecake and PRO TIP: ask for chocolate AND raspberry drizzle. I give this place 5 stars solely based off of convenience and consistency. Was here for a lunch meeting and it wasn't bad. I got the steak which I was thrilled to eat as my husband is allergic to red meat so we never have it at home. I think the only weekday they are open on is Fridays and there were only a handful of parties there when we arrived but was much fuller when we left. I got the filet and it was cooked to the perfect medium rare I love and for a buck extra I got the grilled asparagus which was also nicely done. I had not been to an Outback in years and it seemed updated and brighter - the staff was also pleasant. I was stuffed so It just made it hard to go to work for the remainder of the day as it was pretty heavy for a lunch but it is not like I didn't know that would happen! read more

Interesting experience. I went to Outbacks on . 44th Ave today for a juicy steak for lunch around noon after just arriving home from California and a little bit 'seafood'd out'. First I waited about 10 minutes at the bar to get a menu and order a drink. With no such luck I asked who appeared to be the bartender and was abruptly told that he was busy serving other people. This might have been compelling if there was more than 2 people eating and the bar being empty with a waiter on duty in the bar as well. Anyway, there was a sign up, abundantly visable to boot, stating 3 -Course Combo's on Wednesdays starting at $12.99. I proceeded to ask about these but was told that they no longer offered them. It seemed odd that they would keep the sign up if that were true but he went on to say they haven't had that menu item for over a year now to boot. Doubting the truth and veracity of his statements, I left and phoned back to speak with a manager. The same bartender conveniently answered the phone and told me I couldn't speak with the manager without first giving him my name and the reason for the call at which time I hung up and called the manager at the Centennial store on Costilla Ave to corroborate his story. In short he was stunned and kindly offered to call the manager himself and asking that he return my call. This bartender lacks the customer service credentials to deal with the public and should be terminated at once! In the absence of that, he should be sent to the Centennial store to be retrained and maybe to Church as well to learn how to tell the truth. read more

Just went there tonight while stopping for the night during my travels. It was super busy with a wait but my wife and I found a seat in the bar. For being so packed and busy, the service was great and the food was excellent. Our server was awesome even though he had quite a few tables and he was very attentive. Our food came out in a timely manner even though the kitchen was slammed and it tasted great and was cooked properly. Take some of these negative reviews for this place with a grain of salt (pardon the pun). I frequent restaurants very regularly and my wife works in one and I have in the past as well so if anything, we are much more critical of our experiences dining out than the average joe. If you put ketchup or A1 on your prime rib, save yourself some money and go to Applebee's and don't complain. read more

We were staying overnight in Gateway Park before leaving early in the morning for a flight. Outback was a short walk from the lobby of our hotel. This location is as good as it gets for an Outback, though it seemed smaller than some I've been to. I wouldn't try to get in after 6pm though. We got there at 5:40pm and had a 20 minute wait. At 6pm, the wait was an hour plus. Yikes. I'm not sure if they have call ahead seating, but it's worth trying so you don't have to wait so long if you come by after 6. My mom and I got the Outback Special (6 oz) with grilled lobster tail for only $4 more. It was amazingly delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly, the lobster was perfectly grilled as well. For $15 to have a nice piece of sirloin and a lobster tail (& a loaded baked potato) you can't go wrong. I saw coupons in The Denver Post too but forgot to bring them along. Yep. It's a chain Steakhouse. And you'd think that most of them would be no different than one another. But this Outback seems to be a bit different than most others that I've been to...for the better. This Outback is tucked into the row of hotels on 40th Ave that service travellers out at the airport. There are some locals that go there, but this place is really here for the travelling crowd. Normally, that would be a bad thing. A restaurant that isn't working hard for repeat business usually doesn't set the bar too high, and most travellers (and unfortunate locals) end up with a sub-par experience. Surprisingly and thankfully, this Outback is the exception. The staff here is extremely friendly and welcoming. The food, while being the same as you can get at any Outback, seems to be consistantly and noticably better than I've had at other locations. How do you screw up curbside? Go to this place to find out. A few minutes outside and no one shows up, so I go in and wait 5 more minutes for someone to appear. About 13 minutes after the promise time food finally shows up. I get back to the hotel, cobb salad has literally no bacon and like one miniscule piece of egg. No spoon provided for soup, after I asked for silverware twice. The only thing I regret is pre paying online and leaving a fair tip of 20% when they deserve nothing. I had just flown back from a stressful week-long trip and was looking forward to some good food and good service. Sadly, I was let down in both respects. The food: I ordered the Norwegian Salmon with mixed veggies. It was supposed to be wood fire grilled but came out more charred. Also, I had to ask twice to get the (always wonderful) complimentary bread. The service: On top of having to ask for bread twice, there were no menus at our table and we had to ask for them as well as ask what the specials were and what the soup of the day was. I expect all of those things to be provided without asking and at every other Outback, on every other visit, they have been. Our waiter never checked in on us to see if we needed more water (which we did) or to make sure our food was what we expected. Also, when trying to order a drink that they used to have, instead of going over to talk to the bartender to see if it could be done, the waiter just said they don't have it anymore. When I'm seated by the front door and I can hear you mocking me, using my exact words, at the opposite end of the restaurant is wholly unacceptable. I thoroughly enjoyed the waitress she was hilarious and a lot of fun to ask for help on menu. I was not impressed with the hosts they were on their phone and did not know what tables were available and which were not. They tried seating us at two different tables until a third hostess came and sat us correctly. We stopped on the way back from skiing after a long travel day. We all had the small filets and they were cooked correctly and served promptly. The salad was good and fresh and service was attentive. I live near this location, and have eaten here several times due to convenience. Here is my overall review: The restaurant is always clean and has cheerful greeters. I've never had to wait long for a seat. The waiters have always been prompt, helpful and very nice. The food...this is where it falls apart for me. Appetizer suggestion: I do like the ahi. Comes with 2 sauces and tastes great! Since this is a "steak house" I always order a steak (different cuts). I've tried the wood and the spiced (original) and they are usually bland. The meat doesn't have much flavor. When I order the "veggies" as a side, there isn't much there. A couple broccoli florets and a few sliced carrots, both usually over steamed. Outback used to be a decent steak house, in my opinion, but either the chain has changed or this particular restaurant needs some help in the kitchen. read more

The service is horrible. Had to ask for our server three times. When the plates came out all of them were mixed up. Their solution was to put them on the table and then told us we could fix them if it bothers us. One of our party was wheat intolerant and her plate, which was supposed to be wheat free, had wheat items on it. For $150 meal definitely expected more. Will not be returning. The food was decent and you go back about every 6 months or so after you've gotten over the fact that you and one other person dined and it cost you eighty bucks (not including tip). My husband and I went here and he ordered the prime rib. He is a big time steak man, so he is very, very picky about his steak, so if you are not, this cut might have been okay for you. However, my hubby didn't like it at all. He said it was awful. I ordered the chicken and that's what they brought me. A lone piece of chicken on a huge plate. I felt like I was being punished. The server forgot my vegetables and didn't realize the mistake until she saw my husband putting his veggies on my plate. The drinks were delicious - I had a Strawberry Margarita with a sugar rim on the rocks. About halfway through the meal, there were some other employees in black that came around to all the tables to ask how the food was. I wasn't sure if they were servers or cooks, but I thought that was a nice touch.
