I love this Outback..the service is exceptional..we ran our server ragged and she always came back with a smile...The meal was also quite nice too..we all enjoyed our food...we all had to go containers too....I had the pasta with scallops and chicken..it was just right spicy...with extra Parmesan sauce on the side..yummy...my sister had the Tilapia with crab sauce on top..I know we are supposed to order steak..but they make that pasta so well I was dreaming about it...LOL...Great service, great food and drinks...what else you come here for??...:P read more

Our experience was great! We were celebrating getting married. We told our waitress and throughout our meal numerous people came to congratulate us. Our waitress was shandy (spelling?) and she recommended the sangria sampler. Excellent choice! She said that she is also a bar tender and she had made that batch. Very good. Our steaks were great and perfectly cooked. When we were almost finished she gave us a desert and said that it was her gift to us for getting married. All in all probably the best experience I have ever had at an outback and one of the best at any restaurant anywhere. Would definitely recommend. read more

This was our first time visiting the Hermitage Outback. I was definitely impressed the minute we walked in. Much nicer atmosphere than I anticipated. The food was exactly as we ordered and very tasty. My boyfriend loved the coconut shrimp and the salmon. I got the chicken sandwich which was great with the avocado (not the paste) and aoili mayo. The chicken tortilla soup wasn't the best I've had, but not bad and a tad spicy. The service was absolutely top notch. Our server, Ace, was very attentive and friendly. She made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be back to request Ace as our server, and to try some more items off the menu- everything sounded so good! read more

Not sure if all Outback Steakhouses put on such great service, but this one did. Was taken care of by two ladies who's names both started with a T. Sorry, I didn't remember their names, but their service, and Outbacks food was top notch. I feel they went above and beyond what a franchise restaurant would do. When our meal was done, they packed our left overs for us. I had maybe three bites of potatoes left, so they gave me another helping to go for free. Way to go!!! read more

Consistency and quality are excellent. Some of the complaints seem to harsh for me, it's a chain restaurant in hermitage. Highly reccomend this place, had problems, but no one is perfect. Things have really changed here over the years! Used to be excellent service and great value for a good steak at reasonable price but things have changed. Not sure if it's company changes or what but service was mediocre at best and so was the food! To top it off a burger was ordered med well with just cheese and came out med rare with everything except cheese! Who even lets a burger out of the kitchen med rare! My husband and I came here to eat because the one near our home burned. My husband ordered a half rack of ribs, but it looked more like a quarter of a rack. The manager came by a few minutes later and said he noticed that my husband's order appeared rather small, and he thought he should bring him more, which he did. HORRID! The service was good. Shandy and Chelsea handled their business during a busy happy hour. I have no complaint with the service. Food on the other hand...OMG! my drink, the wild tea smelled like dishwater or something sour and it had no alcohol. It was happy hour after all. Guess I should have asked for top shelf. However in spite of the bad reviews, the parking lot was packed and the last review was in 2013 so I was a little confused as to if things had improved or not. This used to be a really good Outback with decent food and good service. Lately wait times are unnecessarily long due to a lack of waiters. Also, the food continues to get expensive while getting smaller with decreasing quality. Unfortunate that it is the only Outback Steakhouse in the area. read more

My immediate family of four (wife and 2 kids) and my parents planned a night out which included what we thought would be a nice meal at Outback, Hermitage, TN. We waited about 20-30 minutes for a table ... no big deal when you are expecting good food. We were seated at a nice, large booth, and the server seemed reasonably skilled at her job. We began with a Bloomin' Onion (which was good) and ordered entrees. Then, the wait began. It took at least 25-30 minutes from the time the appetizer was gone until our entrees arrived. Everyone in my party was ready to leave by the time the entrees arrived, but we stayed expecting great food. My steak (5 oz sirloin as part of the steak & lobster special) was ordered medium and arrived rare. You would think in the length of time it took to prepare it that it could have been closer to medium. My lobster tail was flavorful but tough and difficult to separate meat from shell. When it came time to pay the bill, my parents presented a coupon for their bill, and I presented a coupon for my bill for my family of four. The server informed us we could not both present coupons even though we had separate checks ... "corporate policy." Really ... after the experience we had she wanted to debate a $5 coupon. I asked for a manager and explained our experience with the prolonged wait and subpar food. The manager explained that "medium" at Outback didn't necessarily compare to "medium" at other steak houses. I told her that was irrelevant and asked if my steak met Outback's definition of medium. She said "no ... would you like us to cook it some more?" After all, she "wanted me to be happy." Again, I say to myself "Really?". We've been there by this time about 1.5 hours and she wants to cook my steak some more. She said she would break "corporate policy" and honor our coupons. "Wow!" I thought to myself. This is really poor customer service and a poor excuse for managerial skill. My steak should have been med well, came to me med rare, possibly even rare. Sent it back for what should have been a couple minutes to get it right, and 10-15 minutes later I got it back well done as it could be. No pink inside, couldn't even cut it...way overly cooked! I left the better part of it on my plate...couldn't cut it, much less eat it. Never got an apology for the steak not being right, or for the time wasted there waiting for it. Although there was a small problem with the meal (steak over cooked), we were more than compensated for the error. Our server, Britt, was very attentive and gave great service. However when Matt brought our food to the table, he waited to see that he steak was cooked properly. Was charged the person that was sitting next to me(stranger) food and went back the next day and the bartender (shandy) thought because I had a conversation with the person that we were together. The manager (Katie) said she would credit my cc and call me but have not heard from her, so I emailed the website that said they would contact me within 24-48 hours and that was on Tuesday September 23. Over the years we have come quite often. Food always satisfactory. I must say though, while extremely pleased the bar now serves an IPA (Sam Adams Rebel), to offer it at $4.50 PLUS tax for $5 for a 12 once bottle at happy hour is ridiculous. $5 is a high end hotel, fancy bar price. They could buy six bottles next door at Kroger's for under $10 tax included. I can go next door to O'Charley's or BWW to find good IPAs on tap, priced reasonable during happy hour. Now I can even get a reasonable IPA at Logan's during happy hour. Not coming back until I can get a reasonable IPA during happy hour. By the way, the bartender while efficient and friendly, it seemed fake, not the jovial attitude one should find at a local bar. read more

My mom and I dined at this location last night for her 61st birthday. Steven, our server, seemed courteous and professional up until we showed him a piece of hair in our appetizer (pork nachos). He took the plate from the table and told us he'd show it to his manager. He continued to wait on us - bringing us our food and refilling our glasses - but with much less communication and eye contact as before. The manager, Daryl, comes over 45 minutes after discovering the hair, and asks if everything is ok as if he's totally oblivious. I ask him if our waiter showed him the hair and he says, "Yeah, but it looked like it could have been a piece of the pork." I tell him that we ate all of the pork and we were sure that it was hair. He says it might have been an eyelash or something and then said that we ate most of it anyways. Then he said, "Other than that, is everything okay?" At this point, I'm furious and trying not to ruin my mom's birthday dinner. After going back and forth with him but getting nowhere, I just tell him that I will never come back. He was arrogant, dismissive and unprofessional. They took the nachos off my check but the way we were treated was unacceptable and I will NEVER go back. read more

This outback was one of the worst places service-wise and food I've been to. We had a $25 gift card and had the choice to spend it between 5 different restaurants but since I hadn't been to an outback here in town we decided to give it a shot. First of all the food I know for a fact was all frozen bc mine and my friends tasted terrible. Then we went during happy hour at 5. We each ordered a drink and those came out normal time. Then we attempted to order another one each. We waited over an hour (both finished our dinners...well didn't really eat much of it but were done picking at it) then almost 45 minutes later we received our second drinks, AFTER our check was already delivered. It was really crazy. The waitress didn't apologize or even speak to us when she brought the drinks or when she brought back the check. Idk if it was out of embarrassment or if she was just ready for us to go... Anyway this is the first review I've ever taken the time to write because we had a 25$ gift card then had to pay an additional $35 for shit food and service. Just makes me really upset when you expect to go out to eat and spend your money on something worthy and it gets completely wasted. We should have stayed home. Don't go to this Outback.
