Filet with a side of chimichurri sauce and a loaded baked potato

After living here for 8 years, we finally decided to try this restaurant. Sat at the bar and was taken very good care of by Shandy. The filet was cooked perfectly and real tender. Enjoyed the Caesar salad with homemade dressing, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his onion soup!

This is the steak I received when I ordered the Joey Sirloin from the kids meal section. I just wanted to leave this here. As usual, the hype doesn't measure up. Aces on the asparagus, though, heh.

This particular Outback Steakhouse is located in a shopping plaza where there is a Kroger for an anchor location. Outback Steakhouse started in Tampa, Florida in 1988 and billed itself as an Australian-inspired Steakhouse. I have often wondered if they went with the "Australian-inspired" concept due to the popularity of the "Crocodile Dundee" movies because I have never seen anything that separated Outback Steakhouse (or made it more Australian) than any of the other mid-level priced steakhouses like Longhorn, Roadhouse, etc. Anyway, Outback Steakhouse has grown to over a thousand locations in twenty-three countries. The food here is OK. Nothing special, but nothing terrible. It is exactly what it is supposed to be, a national chain restaurant that is concerned more with consistency amongst its locations rather than producing incredible food. All in all, this restaurant was picked more for its proximity to my hotel rather than any notion of "Australian-inspired" or for the food. Outback Steakhouse is not a bad location, it is just another chain Steakhouse with a decent price point.

My meal was fantastic! My filet was cooked to perfection and the lobster tail was wonderful! The service was spot on but I will add that the restaurant was not busy since I went during an off peak time (3 pm). I definitely recommend going!

Meatloaf with mashed potatoes. The meatloaf with spicy sauce was really good!

This is a very good and consistent Outback. The GM, Matt, is great. Feel free to sit at the bar; consistently good service from the bartenders, many of whom are tenured. The ribeye is my personal favorite, but if you're not in the mood for steak, I recently tried the meatloaf and it was really good and a large portion. The wings are better than most wing joints and Alice Springs chicken is always another good option.

We were greeted as soon as we arrived and led to our table. Our server showed up almost immediately for our drink orders which she returned with promptly. We had the calamari appetizer which was very good along with a tenderloin meatloaf special that had amazing flavor and texture. I'm not normally a meatloaf person, but this sounded interesting and met all expectations. We found room for dessert and it was outstanding as well. All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an enjoyable and reasonably priced for the quality/ quantity meal. Overall, for the two of us our bill was $130 for 2 drinks each, an appetizer, a salad, a split meal and a dessert. Try it, I don't think you'll be disappointed!@

We chose to go to The Library, which is located within The Old Hickory Steakhouse, simply because we liked the name -- we figured a bar called The Library would be quiet and chill, and it was. All the cocktails had literary names and puns, such as Life of Chai, Gift of a Magi, and Treasure Island. I ordered Fahrenheit 451 (Old Hickory bourbon, raw sugar, Regan's orange bitters, and cherrywood smoke -- they actually set the drink on fire so it would smoke), and my sister had Great Expectations (Zephyr gin, Italicus, lemon, pomegranete, simple syrup, and Zardetto Prosecco). We really enjoyed our drinks, and despite being pricy (drinks ranged from $15 to $18, which, while not cheap, is not higher than most places), we would liked to have stayed for another one, but unfortunately we only had time for one round. The bar is a nice spot to obtain a couple of nightcaps before they close down around 9:30 -- 10 depending on the evening. The bartenders are lovely. The extra dirty gin martinis are very solid especially since they carry Hendricks. They do offer a solid whiskey selection but I did find the pricing for a full measure for many of the allocated bottles to be more than elsewhere. But it is within a resort and there is demand for that if you are inclined. I went for the martinis as that is a good indicator if a bar can nail a standard or one that is extra dirty. I was pleased with that result.

So, our visit was memorable which is the best thing I can say about it…read more.. To begin with, our waitress seemed a littl1e overwhelmed. She dropped a glass as she was serving our drinks. It shattered, the drink going everywhere but mostly on the lap of my guest. That happens sometimes and I thought our table took it pretty well. What doesn't happen though is we were left to clean up the mess... Our server did come and pick up the remnants of the glass after a bit as well as dropping off a few napkins and a bandage for one of my guests who was cut with a glass shard. She did apologize profusely for the accident and I would not have brought any of this up on a yelp review had it not been for what followed... Our salads came and we're not at all what I've come to expect from Longhorn. Finally our steaks came and the poor guy who had a drink broke in his lap had his steak well undercooked. He pointed it out and the server (not our waitress) was obviously annoyed and took the plate back to the kitchen... What they brought back could best be described as charcoal. It would have been funny any other time but by this point, I was just over it. Finally, a manager came by and asked about our dinner. We told him about the broken glass, dumped drink, the cut hands, the burnt, burnt steak and the room temperature baked potatoes all around. He didnt apologize, he didn't offer a discount but he did offer one of my guest another potato... I go to Longhorn quite often when I travel. This was my third visit to this Longhorn as I'm in the Nashville area four or five times a year for business. I kind of doubt there will be a fourth visit.

Sourdough bread with butter and honey was a wonderful way to start the meal. It was followed by crab cake appetizer - mainly crab with only enough breading to keep it formed. It was accompanied by a very tasty remoulade. My husband ordered the 8 ounce filet, which was cooked perfectly. I ordered the chicken and here's where it went downhill. While the breast was moist, the entire chicken was so salty. I removed the skin because it was literally inedible due to salt, but there was really no difference in the chicken without the skin. I just couldn't eat it. It went back to the kitchen, where staff tasted it and agreed with me that it was way over salted. They brought me a pear salad which was delicious and actually cooled my mouth down a bit. I've drunk a bunch of water and hours later, my mouth still feels like it was burned from the salt.
