Taste: I'd give the steak a 4/5 it was cooked to the proper doneness but they could've used a little more seasoning. Compared to other places like salt grass and longhorns I'd definitely pick the Steak at Outback over them. The 22oz. Bone-in Ribeye that I had comes with 2 sides, I got the sweet potato and Fries, the Fries were a little too salty but the sweet potato was good. I've had their Lamb Chops before and they were pretty good from what I remember; but that was years ago. One thing that keeps them from being as good as Texas Roadhouse, in my opinion, is the lack of Variety when it comes to Steak size. At Texas Roadhouse I can get a 16oz. New York strip or 16oz. Top Sirloin but at Outback I'm limited to 11-12 ounces for those cuts; If I remember correctly. Price: Around the same as Longhorn, Texas Roadhouse, etc. Defined worth it. 4 stars alone for my sweet glazed pork tenderloins! The meat is so very soft and juicy. Glaze is sweet but not overpowering. My sides that came with were garlic mashed potatoes which were extremely flavorless and had no garlic flavor and green beans. Pretty healthy meal at a chain restaurant for a great price if you ask me! The Bloomin' Onion as appetizer was really great! I liked the mustard sauce that it came with. Their seared ahi tuna and bloomin' onion are pretty good, I always get the Ahi for an appetizer when I go here. Portions are okay for the price, my friend told me he didn't respond well to the food and prefers 75 dollar steaks at Flemings, I'm still not ever going to do that. This place satisfies me just great. Final thoughts? As far as steak goes, I haven't had a bad steak at Outback. We came here for a date night and had a terrific time. Our server came immediately to take our order and he was very attentive. He was knowledgeable of the menu and kept our drinks full(which is surely a bonus for us). We ordered an appetizer to start, which was great and filling! We almost wished we hadn't ordered it. It came out hot and fresh, we got all of the sides we asked for and he brought plenty of extra napkins for us. We ordered steaks (of course). He asked us how we liked them and we always get medium. We were happy because they actually came out medium. So many times when we order steaks they never come out right. The side of mashed potato was delicious as well and we really enjoyed everything. We asked for the check and he brought it out in a very timely manner. It took him a few minutes to come back to collect payment and we were ready to leave, but he took it and got us on our way. This location surprised me! In a good way! -I had been to a different location with TERRIBLE food and service! I swore off Outback Steakhouse. After a little convincing I ended up at this location. Where do I begin, this was my first time at outback as well as this location... and my experience made me never want to give the business or location another chance! Now the restaurant wasn't busy and I could see plenty of servers on duty but somehow I sat at my table for 15 minutes before I was even greeted. After struggling to using my bread knife to cut my steak I decided it was time to leave. The last day, I had the grass fed burger plus bacon (minus the bun cause carbs) with a side salad - and it was DELISH. Took my customer service team out here for lunch, there were seven of us. Two tables were set after us and got their drink orders taken and their drinks before we even had our drink order taken. My customer service rep team is very picky with the way they eat and made many changes to their orders and the waiter got everything correct that bump this up from two stars to three. Years ago, we used to frequent Outback Steakhouse in an almost weekly manner. Unfortunately, after one too many mediocre experiences, we dropped it off our list of go-to restaurants. It's been quite a while (years actually) since we've been inside of an Outback Steakhouse restaurant. Our last visit to a different location wasn't so great so we've avoided it ever since. We ran out of options one night and decided to stop in to the Westheimer location after leaving the Galleria. It appears as if it has been redesigned - the exterior at least. It actually looks very nice from the outside now. Once inside, we were greeted and seated quickly. Our waiter came to take our drink order to start and we found him to be very hospitable and amusing. Our appetizer came to our table in a timely manner and was delicious. Those Aussie cheese fries, when made correctly, are hard to resist! I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and by golly was it fantastic! I really enjoyed it. My son had the mac and cheese and I've never seen him eat so much at one time. He also seemed to enjoy their dark honey wheat bread very much. My husband had the Steakhouse Philly and he killed that sandwich in no time at all. Suffice it to say, our affection for Outback Steakhouse has been renewed. read more

The steak was excellent but my ordering experience was awful. I have a valid Outback gift card-I checked but when attempting to call directly they were completely unable to help. I ordered through Uber eats thinking I would pay with the gift card but that wasn't possible. I will go in person, get another steak and speak in person with a manager-which I of course should have done originally. Didn't dream that I would fail with Uber. Worst place. So we had order a whole family meal since we are celebrating Father's Day. We came to pick it up on curbside and then went home when we got home we were ready about to eat and notice we were missing 2 items, a whole platter of steak and a whole platter of mashed potatoes. We called the restaurant and a women name " KRISTY" answered and while we were explaining to her that we were missing the items she was so unprofessional and gave us ATTITUDE and placed us on hold. Then the manager BRANDON spoke to us and we explained it to him and he told us to come back that he will give us the missing items while we were already on our way to the restaurant. We got to the restaurant and they gave us the order and I decided to check it for the reason that they had already made a mistake on the order once and they gave us a small amount of steak and a small amount of mashed potatoes. Clearly when the Order we placed was 2 platters of each and we did get 2 platters of Mac and cheese as you can see in the photo but not the mashed potatoes and the meat. On top pf that after paying for a big order they just gave us 2 small breads. And then the manager have an audacity to tell me that the staff put it in one platter and clearly it's not. We didn't pay $205 and left tip and get this type of service. And the mashed potatoes are extremely DRY and the meat as well. I don't live down the street so I had to drive back. Update: Pros- Outback was kind enough to help resolve my issue of the order I wasn't happy with. Customer service reached out to me, which I appreciated. My husband and I went back and ordered the chicken tenders with mashed potatoes, Aussie fries, onion rings and sautéed mushrooms. I loved the mashed potatoes and onion rings and my husband loved his sautéed mushrooms and fries. We also got the coconut shrimp appetizer, and it was so, so delicious, with a great dipping sauce. For dessert, we got the brownie sundae (forgot the name) and it was packaged well (for the to go order) and tasted amazing! Cons- With that being said...the chicken tenders still left a lot to be desired...seemed a bit too salty and bleh... Maybe we just need to try something different next time, as the main entree. This Outback in W Houston follows the above formula. Petite sirloin - very good House salad - fresh, good dressing Chicken fried chicken - may the star of the whole dang menu. I've eaten A LOT of fucking good fried Chicken over the years, and a bunch of them are in Lafayette. This CFC was about as good as any. Delicious, crispy, big, and cheap.
