Unfortunately I have to give this location a one star. I received my food from doordash just a minute ago. First off I noticed that a piece of my order was missing. Second when I took a bite of my food it tasted like rubbing alcohol. I called management and told them about the situation and immediately got push back that there was no way it was rubbing alcohol. I know it was some chemical because my damn lips are burning after taking a bite. I'm very concerned about my health now and no one is offering to even replace my food or anything. Management should be better with problem resolution but it appears that they aren't. I'll have to contact corporate to bring this to their attention. This Outback has gone under a remodel and I have visited twice now over the last two months for their Walkabout Weds special. I had great service both visits and they were busy each time but not slammed. The house bread is just like a remember it served on the cutting board with whipped butter. I like my steak medium with a side of mashed taters or green beans. You can't beat the deal you also get a drink or a beer with the meal for $10! If that ain't a great steak night deal then slap me. The Mac and cheese appetizer was pretty good. Will be back again soon. read more

Came here twice. Not my favorite of all time steak house but the food and price are good. And it's also not far from my house so that's a plus for me. The 1st time we came at night, I must say the atmosphere was great. With dim lights and all that decorations. I like to order the sirloin with french fries. I also like the fried onions and mushroom. I honestly didn't read reviews, but today we had a really good experience. We order baby back ribs, so good! I have a son who is such a picky eater he order junior ribs, he ate everything! Overall, the food was good however the service was lacking. I ordered the Queensland shrimp and chicken pasta, and my boyfriend ordered a turkey and the sweet potato. For some reason, it seemed as though our waiter thought that we weren't going to tip or something because his service was just lacking and we had to ask other waiters for help. The salmon was good but the dish itself was lacking. Lacking volume, pizzazz, love. It was just a piece of fish with a small assortment of veggies just on the plate. I'm reviewing at 3 stars because you would expect outback, although a steakhouse, to put just a little bit more into their plates especially considering all that they pay in ads for their business. I ordered a steak to go, cooked medium well. The steak tasted like leather. There were parts around the fatty areas that tasted ok. I also had macaroni and cheese. This was the first time eating their Mac and cheese and nooo I didn't like it. It's not cheesy, they make it differently. Recently came in for a special Yelp Elite event and it was 10/10. Our first dish was a starter with a blooming onion, cheese fries and steak bits. I'm not particularly a fan of onion rings but overall it was pretty tasty and enormous in size. More than enough for our table of 4. The subsequent courses included a seafood combo, steak and mash potato combo, 2 beer flights (the Sam Adams was the best), a spritzer cocktail, dessert, and a dessert cocktail. The spritzer cocktail, steak, and chocolate cake were the most noteworthy items overall. What makes this place exceptional is the service. Our servers were on top of everything and made sure our cups were never empty and consistently cleared our table. I'll definitely go back to this top notch location. Do not appreciate being ripped off or lied to in a restaurant but, certainly both occurred last nite at this outback. Ordered a full rack of ribs and was shocked when they were delivered to the table and mentioned how small it looked and was it a half rack. Waiter said it was a full rack. Shocked I cut them and counted 8 ribs which is closer to a half rack than a full rack as a full rack is 12 to 14 bones. Using 12, the order was closer to a half rack 6 than a full rack 12. Appears they are deceiving people while increasing profits by being able to cut 4 bones off for a half rack plus a full rack using a full rack to cover both. Needless to say won't be back to be deceived and lied to and worry if an 8 OZ steak becomes 6 OZ thru deception???? Understand places that make smaller portions to avoid raising prices but, don't call a 2/3 rack of ribs a full rack. That is lying and deception!!!! read more

I go to so many Outback Steakhouse's, they've never disappointed me yet. Whether it was in Hawaii, Las Vegas and now here in Houston! Props for being located next to my hotel-love that! I went in for an early dinner and sat at the bar. The bartender/waiter was nice and receive my drink and food order all at once. Drinks came up quickly and my food shortly after. I also engaged conversation with some really nice folks around me and ended up taking a selfie with them. My sampler platter was first up and let me say, those mac and cheese bites are amazing - warning: the first bite will be lava hot!! Love the. Looking onion strings too! My prime rib was the star of the show, prepared are - as I like it! The Caesar salad was, well it's just a salad and like most restaurants, there was nothing stunning about it. Suggestion: perhaps add thinly sliced wafers of Parmesan to make it much more eye appealing. Even maybe make fresh croutons! Other than that, service and food was good and I like the atmosphere. Was on this side of town running an errand and knew Outback was a quality restaurant so we gave it a shot. I got the Pork Porterhouse, I've had it at other locations and I knew it should be good. For my sides I got a wedge salad and the mashed potatoes. There was some sort of problem with our salads so it took an extra 10 minutes or so. The pork chop was fantastic. Seems like ever since the pandemic, food quality and customer service has diminished. We don't go out to eat very often anymore since it is so expensive, but when we do we want to enjoy good service and food, especially for the price we are paying. The Outback in Katy, TX needs some help. I ordered sweet tea, received unsweet. On their combo meals, they don't offer a filet and shrimp option just filet and lobster and that is $32.50 so you have to order a filet $26.99 and add the shrimp $7.99 (total $34.98) Way more than the steak and lobster, why couldn't I substitute? When I mentioned something to the waitress I get "I don't make the rules" excuse. My husband's salad had the bottom half of the lettuce head with core in his salad. When my meal came out, I had no sauce with my coconut shrimp and we were half way through the meal before the server asked if everything was okay. My husband's steak was half fat and he said they have changed their cuts of meat. We have been to Outback numerous times so this was pretty obvious to him. We were asked if we wanted more bread (yes) but we never received it. Had to ask again towards the end of the meal. Manager came by, my husband urged me to speak my mind about combo issue. Manager acted surprised on the price difference and told me " I got you and will give you the lower combo price" and when our bill came, it didn't. It is just exhausting to go out anymore. No one cares about giving good customer service, they just slop anything on your plate and expect you to be happy about it while paying outrageous prices. My colleagues and I had lunch here recently. We all really enjoyed our meals and had great service. The waitress was very attentive and came around often, refilled drinks, brought the check in a timely manner. I had the STEAKHOUSE SALAD: Seared center-cut sirloin, mixed greens, Aussie Crunch, tomatoes, red onions, cinnamon pecans. I changed to the balsamic vinaigrette instead of the blue cheese dressing. My steak was cooked medium as I like it. Lots of good crunch on the salad. Fresh ingredients. Also, love their bread and butter. You get a nice big loaf to share. My colleagues all had various versions of the lunch combo. Seems like a great option if you want a smaller, cheaper meal. Definitely a very good Outback. I am not in Houston very often but this is a great location. We stood in the parking lot afterwards to watch the eclipse. So this location will have happy memories. read more

Hey- I am an Outback fan so take this for what it is worth. I travel to many Outbacks in several parts of the US. The food is consistently ok to good to occasionally...dang! But when you are in this space it really is not about the grilled perfectly $100 ribeye. It is about good mid-market food, service, family and....gratitude. Tonight this particular Outback knocked it out of the park. It is day before Fathers Day which I suspect is a big night for Outback. I was greeted promptly, seated quickly and served at a very high level by Archie. Clearly a pro. If I am back on HTown looking for an Outback I am for certain asking for Archie. On top of all this i watched the staff work together turning over tables so folks could sit down quickly and witness how they interacted with patrons. Kudos to management. This location was rite outside my hotel so it was super convenient for me to walk rite across the street for a bite to eat. When I arrived it was still happy hour and I was able to grab a delicious strawberry peach sangria for $5 which was super refreshing after a long day of work. I also grabbed some blooming onion peels which is just a smaller order of the blooming onion. The blooming onion petals were the perfect amount and even were to many to finish so I took the rest home as a snack for later. I really love the outside crust on the onion peels and the combination of the sauce served with it is just delicious. For my entrée I ordered the filet with garlic mashed potatoes cooked medium and also got a house salad with no tomatoes and blue cheese dressing. The salad came out nice and cold in a chilled plate and had no tomatoes just like I asked. (I get super annoyed when I ask for them not to be on there and they come anyways). My steak arrived perfectly cooked to a medium rare and my garlic mashed potatoes hit the spot. I love me some meat and potatoes. My waiter was extremely nice and provided great service over all. If I ever come back to Texas and stay across the street I will certainly come back. read more

Once you actually go an experience real food you never want to go to these type of chain restaurants again. I cringe since back when I was in high school I considered this "good food". I had dinner here with a friend that used to work here when we were in college. The good news is that he considered to be exactly the same as it was over 10 years ago. I don't know if thats a good or bad thing since the menu is exactly the same as it was as well. I ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms thinking it should be ok since it had the healthy symbol next to it. Even the "healthier" choices seem to be bathed in some sort of cream sauce. I only went here because of my friends request. This would definitely be a first or even tenth choice on my list to get something to eat at. The odd part was we actually had to wait on a table for fifteen minutes on a Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. Very strange. Guess the people in the area haven't heard about Yelp ;) The only reason this place didn't get 1 star is because of the service. Two orders of Victoria center cut filet 6 ounce medium, one with a baked potato soup and salad, the other with a baked potato and the skillet Mac and cheese. The salad came out with the food. They over cooked one of the steaks so that it was well done, never got drink refills, and the bread was brought out hard as a brick. I don't even know how they got the knife through the middle of it. Sword in the Stone lore began here? After a long wait, no drink refills, and lack of service, my sister takes her two boys and my daughter, all four and under, and heads to the car. The staff at the front door Watch as she struggles with a baby, and the two toddlers to get out the door, five people standing there and none of the staff try to help by at least getting the door. We used to come here to have the ribs every now and again. The last time that we came by we ordered the full order of ribs and boy were we disappointed. They gave us a half order and then argued that it was a full rack of ribs. The manager apologized and brought us another half order, but we never ate the other half order because it was disgusting. The meat tasted like it was reheated and the sauce was old and you could tell it had been repeatedly reheated maybe for days. Parts of the meat tasted caramelized with this disgusting sauce. Stay away from the expensive stuff too it's horrible. I tried the Victoria's fillet which is the most expensive disappointment in the menu. Do yourself a favor stick with the mid range stuff, the sautéed mushrooms have always been good. And don't order any drinks unless it's beer or straight. The Moscato tasted like sewer water and ass juice. The T-bone is usually a safe bet. And don't even bother with their big fancier brother Fleming's. That place if fake rich silly. I went here after reading the reviews and it was close to my hotel. Straight garbage. How do your ribs have NO seasoning? And the fries were stone cold. I finally just stopped trying to eat the meal. I was tired of cutting away at the ribs and they were tired of me cutting away at them. I also think there is some monkey business going on with the employees but don't know for sure so I wont go there. The food was tasteless and a waste of money. Well, this was our 4th visit to this place, 1st time was a wonderful experience, our server was amazing, he was fast, knew the menus and gave us suggestions, was patient with us, since we had 3 children, he was energetic and seemed like he loved his job, took our drink order and our food, not even 20 minutes later, our food was out and we were completely happy with our experience. 2nd time, what a nightmare, the hostess was talking to a server when we arrived and didn't even acknowledge that we were waiting there, it was probably 3 minutes, but it felt like 20. We were seated and after 15 minutes of waiting, my husband had to get up and go to the bar and inform the bartender that nobody had come to our table to take our order. 2 minutes later, girl shows up and says, well, nobody told me that my section was seated. Smh! Alright, so we placed our order and we forgot the incident, 3rd time...... well, what could be the odds of another bad experience, right? Let's give it another try. We were 4 adults and 3 kids, everything was fine until our food came out and one of the kids was not served because someone dropped her food back in the kitchen and they had to cook another chicken again. So, here we are trying to feed a kid from everyone's plate, so she wouldn't be looking at us while she waited forever for her food, of course, the waiter said she wouldn't charge us for her meal. But, wait....I mean...the food is ok, just the horrible service, let's give it another try....our luck can't be that horrible, right? Well, we get there at 11:05 on a Sunday morning for father's day. We are thinking, it will be packed but, all the opposite...it's empty, barely open and we are lucky, right? Well, no. We come in and the hostess is hanging father's day decorations on the ceiling, she didn't even bother to say, hey! I'll help you guys in a minute, just let me finish this or something. But, again. Nothing! I'm already in a disappointment mode, she came to help us after 4 minutes, yes...I was staring at my watch the whole time. She gets us seated and there we go again. Waited 7 minutes for our waiter to appear, took our drink order and another 10 minutes for us to get our drinks, how hard is it to fill up apple juice in kids cups and 2 iced teas, it wasn't even busy, c'mon!!! Our waiter was polite but, looked like she wanted to be anywhere but there, not a single smile, by exactly 12 PM. She comes back to our table to tell us that our food is taking a bit longer, and asked if we wanted drink refills. Our drinks had been nothing but melted ice for the last 20 minutes....you don't ask, you can obviously see that we do and refill, our food took just under an hour to get to our table. It's not even that great, lobster is so flavorless, if my 7 year old cooks one, I'll probably be better. The service is poor and if only we were treated like we were not invisible, I'll give it an extra star, but....honestly, after my 4th visit, that's it, I won't be coming back, hire more help, hire people who can at least smile once in a while, I don't care if I wait over an hour for my food, if service was great, I wouldn't mind, but....for average steak, and horrible service, I won't be wasting my time here again. Either got the wrong togo order, or items forgotten or - frequently - found the serving size to be not as advertised and underwhelming. First time I forgave them. Third time I complained and received a gift card apology. Last time? When my EIGHT ounce steak was closer to SIX ounces... and tough - and the cheesecake slice was smaller than my fork? that was enough. I'll never go there again. Taste: I'd give the steak a 4/5 it was cooked to the proper doneness but they could've used a little more seasoning. Compared to other places like salt grass and longhorns I'd definitely pick the Steak at Outback over them. The 22oz. Bone-in Ribeye that I had comes with 2 sides, I got the sweet potato and Fries, the Fries were a little too salty but the sweet potato was good. I've had their Lamb Chops before and they were pretty good from what I remember; but that was years ago. One thing that keeps them from being as good as Texas Roadhouse, in my opinion, is the lack of Variety when it comes to Steak size. At Texas Roadhouse I can get a 16oz. New York strip or 16oz. Top Sirloin but at Outback I'm limited to 11-12 ounces for those cuts; If I remember correctly. Price: Around the same as Longhorn, Texas Roadhouse, etc. Defined worth it. I've always been a fan of this chain, partially because of the black bread they bring you to start things off along with safari theme. After a long day of work, I wanted a Foster's but they were all out of draft so I had to get a can. How does an Australian restaurant not have Australian beer on tap?? I went with two apps: the Aussie Fries (fries covered in bacon, cheese, and scallions), and the shrimp on the barbie. There isn't much Australian about the fries but cheese fries are always a winner in my book. The shrimp on the barbie was ok, the name sounds better than the actual dish. Shrimp skewers but the shrimp are kind of small and the sauce was good but not great. My guest ordered the chicken on the barbie and ribs combo but the waiter misheard her order and only brought out the chicken without the ribs. We had to wait a bit for the ribs to come out but the manager gave us an extra portion of chicken which was a great way to make things right. Went for my brothers birthday and it was a great experience. First I want to say that our waiter Christian was impressive from the very beginning. He wrote stuff down which I appreciate and he repeated our order back to us to make sure he got everything right. Having great service makes a world of difference!
