This restaurant had good service but the food is deplorable. I am not in the habit of sending food back, I don't like doing that. I worked in restaurants, I don't like being the type of guest who complains about everything either, however I was left with no choice. First my appetizer was the crab cakes. So far not impressed. We get styrofoam cups because they do not have enough glassware. How does that happen at a chain? Do they not have national standards to adhere to? App came out before bread, first time that ever occurred here. The photo is of the hair that came out of Blooming Onion sauce. Had it not been 830 we would have left. Now we all sit with empty to go cups, a hair on shared app plate, no bread, no salad and getting more disappointed by the second. After sending the hair sauce back we got bread, that we asked for when we ordered drinks. Still no salad, at this rate I am certain they will come out with steaks. We also asked fir ketchup for my sons fries and A1, which took so long that I nearly went to another table that had just left and got them myself. I have ate in restaurants all over world. Terrible service took a long time to be able to order. Our drinks were refilled once but only after we asked. My husband had lettuce stuck in his throat and had to get water out of the bathroom. when our food came the table was covered in dirty dishes from our appetizer and old drinks. Have recently had dinners at Outback Steakhouse in another city. Great experience there with good food and service. This place on Dussel is lousy with poor, delayed service. Steaks and prime ribs were just warm. Waitress would seem to get lost after offering to bring sauce, more coffee, and or other services. Person at next table over got food but no utensils. Just passing thru while traveling so wanted something close to hotel. Well, my beers were great, and servers were nice. But...Wait for food was over an hour. We were seated at 7 pm...ok it's a Saturday...but it really wasn't that busy. Finally got our salads, then food. Wife had chicken and shrimp pasta. Proteins were over cooked and dry. Fettuccine had obviously been sitting under the warmer for awhile. My medium sirloin was tasty but dry and more like well done. Sons medium well burger was well but tasted fine. Daughters chicken fingers were the tastiest thing at the table...until I split the last one she left and ate half, looked at the piece left on the plate and saw pink on the inside. Wasn't fully cooked. We don't really complain at places but I had to let them know about that. They pulled it from the bill and let me know the kitchen had been "reamed". Summing up this experience is difficult. The food was atrocious, the service and the management we're great. The appetizer was Mac-n-cheese deep fried balls. What we were served were charcoal briquettes, I'm not kidding these things were dark as night. The insides were flavorless and just pretty disgusting. My steak arrived on the plate black, completely black. The steak looked like it had been charbroiled to a crisp. The steak on the inside was completely uncooked. Needless to say I sent my stake back to have it cooked A little bit more. When the stake came back it looked juicy On the outside. On the inside it was cooked all the way through gray, not exactly medium rare. It was kind of a mystery how the overcooked steak looked juicy on the outside. Well what cook did Was dip it in their blackened seasoning again to make it look like it was juicy. That's steak was so spicy I could not eat it. I tried to scrape the seasoning off even, I even dunked it in my water to try and get this blackening season off. It didn't work. This is the first time in my life that I couldn't eat a steak. My companion ordered a chicken quesadilla which was served with Honey mustard. Who the hell serves honey mustard on a quesadilla? Oh and they were cold when they came out. The salad was nasty and kind of wilted. I ordered the dressing on the side and they put it on the damn salad. The bread which they claim to be fresh was dry and tasted old. It was cold too. This was absolutely the worst meal I've ever had in a restaurant. Do not go to this outback, there are other great steak places less than a mile from it. Well, unfortunately this was a terrible experience. We were met by the hostess who said not enough people working we would have to sit in the foyer and wait for help to come. After waiting we were set by the manager who was also our server. The orders too over an hour to come to the table. We did not receive refills on our drinks. The chicken was under cooked and bright pink in the middle. Steaks came without the sides. Potatoes were not dressed properly. It was the most disappointing experience I have ever experienced. When the waitress comes back and I question her about it she says "it's the marinade that's on the rack of lamb and you can change it next time. " and walks away... I let my traveling companions talk me into another chain restaurant on Saturday night. Outback needs to hire some additional wait staff for weekends, because we had THE WORST service I've had in a restaurant for a long time. Not rude, but just didn't have time to do anything and didn't know what a micro-brew or craft beer was. The food is two stars. Steaks are actually 3 stars, the rest not. My family has been coming to this location for years now, and will most likely keep coming if things stay as good as they are. There was a downturn in the quality and service some years back, but in our most recent (and really rather numerous) visits, we've had nothing but positive experiences. I will confess, I order almost nothing except the 6oz Outback special. Deliciously seasoned, juicy, and thick, the steak served with a choice of two sides. Green beans in the mode of haricot vert and the creamy sweet potato are my favorites. The salads and soups are very good too, though. The best part is that it's only $10, putting it well within the average price range. Add to that the complementary and unlimited amount of sweet, fresh, black bread which vanishes almost as soon as it hits the table, and you have a very nice steakhouse meal for not that much more than your average sports pub. That isn't to say you can't spend a lot of money. The lamb, sadly, has skyrocketed out of my price range ($20), and larger\different cuts of steak will cost you quite a bit more. However, I do appreciate that there is a tasty steak available even for cheapskates like myself. :) There are many other things on the menu if you are not in the mood for steak. My fish-loving father is a fan of the salmon, and the chicken-based dishes are usually quite tasty. There are also salads and sandwiches which are pretty good. Do be sure to try one of the appetizers. My family's favorite are the cheese fries (though if you're like us, you probably only will want a half-order. They're filling and smothered in tasty but stomach-stretching calories). The bloomin' onion and coconut shrimp are other suggestions. I also enjoy some of the drinks here - and I don't normally drink. The wallaby darned is very tasty and a bit unusual, and I also liked the gingerbread martini they had last Christmas. Of course, there is an entire bar of beers, spirits, and wines too. Desserts are also pretty good, but not so much that they factor into deciding to come here. I used to absolutely adore the Cheesecake Olivia. However, the last few years it has gone from being dense and custard like to more fluffy and typical - the texture that made it so amazing and unusual is gone. Still, being able to get a rammekin of both hot fudge and raspberry sauce to create your own masterpiece is satisfying in its way. Service is always pretty good here, and particularly on our last visit, super attentive. Management almost always comes around once per meal to check in too. The only negative comment I would make is how noisy it is on a busy night. A very live place in terms of acoustics, if you have a screaming child or drunk wedding party nearby, you will probably have trouble hearing the person talking across from you unless you're in a highbacked booth. One other note - be careful on the floors. They are and always have been very slippery. If you wear heels or are\are accompanying someone who isn't sure on their feet like a senior or child, do take care. read more

Absolute worst Outback we have ever been to. We travel a lot for work and have frequented a lot of Outbacks in a lot of various states...we like sitting at the bar. This Outback started good, bartender was nice, but slow. We ordered, new BBQ ribs for my husband and coconut shrimp and a sweet potato for me. Food came out, my shrimp were greasy & the plate was full of grease too, my sweet potato had more geese on it than cinnamon and butter and my husband's ribs were ice cold even though his plate was too hot to touch. The bartender was no where to be found. I was famished, so I started in the potato and my husband picked at the fries waiting for her to come over....it took at least 15 minutes for her to even ask us how the food was. So I was almost finished with my few pieces of greasy shrimp before he could tell her that the ribs were cold...we didn't even attempt to say anything about the greasy shrimp. She said she send out a manager and get us new ones, but that didn't happen. Another 15 minutes later we asked if we could just have the check to go and she didn't know what to do since we didn't even want to wait on the ribs. The manager FINALLY came over apologized and took the ribs off our ticket, but that was only after she tried to get us to wait on them some more. Ordered a sweet potato with honey butter as a side. Sweet potato was raw in the center and the honey butter was plain butter. The blooming onion ordered was so salty it was almost inedible and the dipping sauce couldn't be used as it raised the salt level even more. Chicken fingers were good. Honey mustard was passable. Not a single entree on the menu is vegetarian friendly which is hard to believe but nothing to fuss over since it is a steakhouse. I ordered the steak quesadillas but asked to substitute the meat with mushrooms. The waitress said that would be no problem. The food comes and they gave me plain cheese. They didn't even put the green onion or cilantro on as the menu states. The manager came by and tried to tell me that those don't come on it and that I should try something else even though the menu specifically says what comes on the quesadilla. Waiter never checked in with us during that time. Once the food was delivered, my fillet which was suppose to be medium was well done, basically a piece of leather. The loaded bake potato only had a sprinkle of cheese. My husband ordered chicken and mashed potato. Got the chicken but mashed potato were going to take another 10 minutes. The chicken was cold. I didn't really enjoy my service here. My waiter's main goal was to talk in an Australian accent which I didn't like at all. Funny story about this place though, a rib to me growing up with meat on a bone. I didn't grow up in the traditional American family so going to restaurants was a pretty new phenomenon to me as a teenager with friends and a car. Well I come here with my older siblings who always go out to eat, I'm a 14 year old kid ordering the prime rib. I didn't hear what anybody else asked for, but when the order arrived at the table, the plates of ribs passed me. So they hand me the Prime Rib and I look at it and tell the waiter, "umm Sir, I ordered the Prime Rib", as if he were slow. He looks at it and says, "That is the Prime Rib." So I was humiliated. Came here with my sister and hubby. We ordered the blooming petals which weren't that great. Way too much breading on the onions. The dipping sauce as usual was great! Our server was fairly attentive and it didn't take too long to get our food. We then got our main meals which was 2 steaks and 1/2 slab of ribs. All were excellent. The bbq sauce was just right on the ribs and they were tender. Both steaks were grilled as they wanted them although the medium well seemed a little done for my liking. The potatoes are a little bland but weren't terrible. I was hoping for some room for dessert because their dessert choices looked delicious. Maybe another time.
