I have eaten here many times. Have always had a great experience. Staff is very friendly and food is good.

I have eaten here several times, but my last experience was terrible. The steak was good. However, I was not happy that they allowed a few children using a lighter to light candles. A family tried to celebrate somebody's birthday and they brought their own cake. The restaurant allowed children to light the candles at a different table while the adults stayed at the original table. The waiter was careless enough to allow children to light the candles while the cake was still on/in the box. He watched the children somehow, but not all the time. I wrote the letter to the corporation. Interestingly, the manager wrote me back that the server had watched the children all the time. Well, I watched them all the time as not only the waiter was away from them but also several times he was not even face them for a while. As he was still young, he might not know, but the children with a lighter needed to be watched ALL THE TIME: The box could be lit up in a few seconds. My problem with this place was not the steak, but the workers, including the manager. They are clueless that they could have put their customers into the danger. The customer service for outback deserves a five. They are upbeat, friendly, and prompt. Unfortunately, the food is a little (alright a lot) disgusting. The last time I went in there, we were served moldy bread...not cool. Fortunately, I caught it before my son put it in his mouth. Probably an isolated incident on their part. However, my kids and I fell ill that evening after eating there. :( read more

Bartender was great, ordered steak and shrimp. Steak was 1/4" thick and way over seasoned. Shrimp was dryer out. When food was brought out to me I saw on server's face that they were embarrassed. Had better steak at Denny's for a fraction of price. I tried many Outback's and this one is worst by far. read more

I've been traveling for several months. Outback is one of my favorite places to go for that special evening out. Recently I've hit several Outbacks that lacked decent employees and I was starting to question the quality of the chain. I hope the clientele in Missoula realizes how fortunate you are. These restaurants reflect the manager in charge. Today the reception person was friendly and helpful. The server prompt and attentive and outstanding. The food was perfect. As I left, I had to let the reception person know how nice it was to find an Outback that was well run and had employees that were 3 steps ahead of the customer. Thanks. read more

I hadn't ever reviewed a restaurant until my last visit here, but the food and service we got was remarkable enough that I felt compelled. My family and I will certainly be back. The waitress seemed to really care about getting everything just right for us. She was very attentive, but at the same time wasn't intrusive. I've found it very hard to find a steak as good as their 22 ounce ribeye in Missoula, either for price or quality. We only waited 5 or 10 minutes to get in on a busy Saturday night right around 7 pm. Went to Outback with my boyfriend for our anniversary, we sat down and ordered drinks and a blooming onion. I proceeded to go use the ladies room where someone had gotten sick in one of the stalls and in the sinks. It was obvious that it had been in that state for a while....if that wasn't bad enough upon returning to the table our drinks had arrived and my martini had a black hair floating in it. We alerted our waitress, who barely seemed phased by the situation. We decided that it would be best not to risk our health and eat at this establishment, we left and went to a local restaurant up the road instead. Both of us have/and do work in the industry....this situation in the front of the house does not reflect well on what maybe going on in the back of the house....diners beware! read more

Service was excellent however the food was horrible. The steaks were very bland and our bloomin onion wasn't cooked.

Poorly executed in all areas, though it gets two stars because the food is palatable -if only barely.

The only place to get a great steak at a fair price in Missoula!!! The service was awesome and the two for one happy hour can't be beat.

This place is consistently good! I love the 1/2 price appetizers until 6 p.m. on weekdays, too! You must try their French Onion soup on these chilly days. It's not on the menu, but it is definitely worth trying. And their drink menu is "to die for". Whoever thought up the black cherry peach mojito is a genius! You can sit at the bar and watch sports and have a wonderful perfectly prepared steak and tater with a salad. From the Ahi Tuna or the shrimp or lobster to the prime rib or steaks, you have so much great food to choose from for your taste buds. It is all fresh and perfectly prepared for you. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, too. I love this place! Try it out. It is a chain restaurant, too. Many cities have them, but some are better than others. This is the best one that I have ever been to, so I try to go at least once a month. If you have never been to an Outback, you need to go here soon! read more

Get some decent steak knives please! We went here last year before a movie since it was close to the theater. The service was good and the food was decent, but the steak knives were so dull they were nearly useless. I asked the server for a new one and she apologized because they all pretty much sucked. My steak wasn't tough but it was really difficult to enjoy the food because I spent so much time and effort simply trying to cut it up. I avoided going back because it just kind of turned me off to the place. Last week my brother was in town and we went out for a family dinner. I swear they had the exact same crappy knives that they did a year ago! I was telling my sister about it and before I could even tell her about the knives, the first thing out of her mouth was "you'd think as busy as they are, they could spring for some decent knives". First of all I ordered the kid macaroni and cheese, did not realize it did not come with a side, when I ordered a side the waiter did not advise that it was not part of the meal, this charged me an extra 3.99. Second, the waiter implied that a salad was part of one of our dinner, which it was not, so we were charged an additional fee for the salad. Third, I ordered one of the most expensive streaks on the menu and ordered it medium rare, out came out extremely, extremely rare and still cold in the middle. I sent it back and when I received it back it was more a medium and at that point had already started to get tough. I spoke to a guy who said he was the owner and he didn't offer a percentage off or even offer to get me a completely new steak. When I pay 29.99 for a steak, from a restaurant that specializes in steaks, I expect a flawless, perfect steak. Fourth, we ordered a kids cheeseburger and it was still very rare as well. For the amount of money we paid for a special family dinner, not only do I feel like we got ripped off and over charged, but also feel like we were taken advantage of by the waiter for not advising the extra charges read more

Called Thursday afternoon to make reservation for a friend reunion get together of 17 people for Friday night at 6:00. specifically asked the gal who answered the phone If they could accommodate a party that size all together. She said "Oh yeah! We do like soccer teams and stuff like that all the time." Called again at 4:00 on Friday night to verify reservation, was told they would see us at 6:00. We all arrived within minutes of each other about five minutes to 6, were told by the host that they don't actually do reservations.. They do "Call ahead seating" and all their large tables were full. She explained they could seat us immediately by splitting us into three booths separately or we could wait 35-40 minutes. I told her we had made a reservation the day before and asked why no one had mentioned that there weren't "actual reservations." She offered to get her manager, who came over and apologize for the "confusion." And offered again to seat us separately. I wouldn't have been so mad if I hadn't specifically asked about the party size accommodations. We went down the road to Famous Daves who put a table together (ALL TOGETHER) within two minutes and had great food and service. Outback really dropped the ball. Definitely will do our group get togethers elsewhere. read more
