We normally order curbside Togo. This location is usually good, staff is helpful and friendly. But for some reason the baked potatoes have been terrible lately. It's like they have been cooked and left in a hot drawer for hours on end. The skin is so hard and the inside seems like it is days old. We have ordered about 4 times in as many weeks and every time the baked potatoes have been this way. Maybe they are using old potatoes from lunch, that was cooked 5 hrs ago. I'm surprised I've not yet left a review for Outback! No rules, just right! I came here last night with my girlfriend and we had a great time. The atmosphere, well it's Outback. If you know, you know. For as long as I can remember, the service has always been wonderful, last night included! Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I'm not going to say that Outback is my favorite steak house. My kitchen is, along with a few other restaurants. I do love it though! The drink menu is extensive. They have $5 cocktails everyday and house liquor is actually decent! I usually stick with wine, so I went with the La Crema Pinot Noir. Always a good choice! I love a restaurant that has quality wine. On to the menu. I've had numerous menu items and they're always on point. Last night I opted for the Alice Springs Chicken - this was deliciously flavorful and perfectly cooked! Topped with bacon, cheese, onions, and a side of honey mustard. You choose a side as well. Other items that I've had include the filet and shrimp (always delicious), cheese fries (who doesn't love cheese fries?), and of course the Bloomin' Onion! I went in for lunch today because I had a gift card to spend...I had been reluctant because of the current 3 star review and 92 health score posted last May (with 11 violations cited?!). I sat at the bar because it was a 10-15 min wait for a booth. And I asked if the manager was in and if I could speak to him...he was and Brandon (happens to be a managing partner) was surprised about the review and asked if I was sure I had the right Outback and I showed him the address to confirm. So I was glad I spoke to him. Long and short the score posted in the lobby was 97.5 and he said they just did an internal audit that was even more stringent than the Health Dept and they passed with flying colors. He also said most of their reviews come from Google and another source and I told him I do not use Google for ANYTHING I can avoid using it for. I told him he needs to get that score updated and improve their reviews. So I ordered my meal, Tamika (the bartender) provided me with absolutely excellent, attentive service! Tonight's visit was not the typical outback experience. I stand by my previous review when I say this particular location is just average for the chain. first the good: The ribeye was terrific - perfectly cooked The manager was visible, bringing out food and making sure things were good The not so good: Our server was not particularly attentive when it came to getting refills on drinks or checking to see if we needed or wanted anything. My bride tried to get her attention for a refill and she felt a bit snubbed. My little girl just barely got her attention for a refill as our server was walking away. She did offer to bring us boxes for our leftovers, but didn't ask if we wanted any dessert. Considering the cinnamon oblivion is back and that was the very reason my bride wanted to come out here tonight, that was not a good move. I listened to my bride's TESTY discussion toward the manager about the inattentiveness of our server, and especially about not being asked about dessert - yes, my babydoll was HOT, and when she gets like this I don't want to be on the receiving end of her tirade; in fact, it makes me cringe so much I don't even want to be in the same room. The manager was very apologetic, and brought us a cinnamon oblivion (no charge). She explained that this was atypical for this server to not be attentive. A warning up front that this review is about this Outback's curbside to-go service, not inside service. A friend visiting from out of town mentioned something about a lettuce wedge salad, and from then on it was all I could think about. We'd just rolled back into town from a hot and humid day down at Carolina Beach; we were tired, wind-blown and sun-drained -- and very hungry. Even though we'd just taken showers and were in our PJs, I used my iPhone to find the closest Outback, called in the order (was on hold just a little longer than I like) and we hopped back into my car and headed to Outback. While waiting in the parking lot I found the Outback Steakhouse app for my iPhone so as to make this easier next time. They were very busy but Jenn got to us quickly enough. Yesterday myself and a friend stopped by Outback for lunch. We were greeted by front of house and quickly brought to out seats. Our server, Tabatha F. was a pleasure to meet. She treats everyone like family and spent time answering our questions about the menu items. Our drinks came out quickly as did our starter and bread. The only thing I would suggest is to wait a bit later before serving our main dishes as they came quite early. The food is flavorful, consistent, and reasonably priced. Our most recent visit was during the COVID-19 precautions. All employees wore masks and maintained reasonable social distance. The tables were separated and they limited the number of customers. They offered a limited menu, provided on paper. Even on a limited menu, they offered a variety of food items, drinks, and desserts. Our waiter was attentive and efficient. All of our orders were accurate and brought out in a reasonable amount of time. We started with complimentary bread and then a bloomin onion. The bloomin onions are high in calories, but are delicious - especially with their tasty dipping sauce. I ordered a Caesar salad without cheese, dressing on the side, and topped with grilled shrimp. A drink that was incorrect however decided to keep yet didn't drink (but I said we would keep) and a meal that needed a refire and received no compensation for these mistakes. Needless to say our server received her 20% on the full bill however the manager does need training to satisfy such issues going forward. Right now you just lost two loyal customers at this location. I gave it a try! My God daughter was in town from Florida and this is her favorite place to eat so we brought her on her last day in NC. Upon our arrival we pulled into a parking lot. Called to see how long the wait was for a group of six people. They said between 10-15 minutes, and when arrived we had to wait five minutes which wasn't a problem. It took a long time to get our food. We decided to order appetizers and when we were done we had the dirty plates on the edge of table. The plates were there for a while and no one picked them up. A table next to us was done eating, so we put the dirty plates on the other table. Had the bread that came to the table, which was delicious. Didn't have any issues with the food. I've eaten at Outbacks in China, canada, taiwan and 35 states so you could say I'm a bit of a fan Unfortunately someone up top is slowly ruining the menu. The fries in the cheese fries went from great to the cheap shit Sysco makes and the salads got more purple cabbage filler than lettuce and the cucumbers from plenty and a nice add that other places never had to maybe one or two. At least the ranch dressing is still their special recipe and the add as many ounces you want for a buck to the prime rib still work.
