I had not eaten at an Outback in years, but my fiancé was craving a steak so we gave it a try. The service started out good. Our waitress was very nice and prompt with drinks and taking our order. Unfortunately it was all downhill from here... It took nearly an hour for our food to come out, which was barely warm when it arrived. My fish tacos were so-so and came with a very small portion of fries. My fiancé ordered the 14 oz ribeye. According to him, it was very small, dry, and gross! We could've cooked this meal much better ourselves at home. Way too much money for bad food and we won't be returning to Outback again. read more

Disappointing! Don't DoIt! This Outback was nicely located in my hotel's lot and I had a gift card. This should have been a convenient match to feed my steak craving. "Should have been!" I sat at the bar. TV's on a sport talk show with no volume but closed caption. This should be fine but it was during prime time, so please have someone care enough to find a live game. Clearly happy hour ending because the 8 people or so there for cheap food and drinks all dispersed the minute it ended. Team members all lingering around service bar complaining about their restaurant. This all lead to a poor atmosphere. Couldn't hear music. Appetizer = Bloomin Onion, seemed a bit smaller than I remember but tasted good and I got it rung in before HH ended so value was good. Good snack with a featured Magarita from their promotional book. This was an okay start to my experience besides the atmosphere. Meal = Wedge Salad, New York Sirloin. Menu described a few ways they can prepare steak. Bartender never asked! The usual warning was given from an Outback about their meat being steak house temperatures so they try to warn average folks it will be less cooked than what your impression of "medium rare" is. In actuality they are not serving the high end steak house guests so make your temps the same as the chain restaurant level that you serve. Quality = After the appetizer it was all down hill. Lettuce wedge small, bacon very overlooked and fatty. Steak was so tough. I'm assuming they hand cut them because it was very much under weight and about 30% was a gristly fat cap. I could barely chew it. The seasonal veg on the side was 2 tiny carrots and a big hunk of broccoli (not bite size pieces). The broccoli looked as if it was just ripped off of a full head. Lazy prep. Luckily my hunger was satisfied from the appetizer. Value = Very Poor. Besides the HH appetizer I dropped a $25 gift card and spent quite a bit of my own money. No server follow up so I didn't complain. I did comment constructively on their website with no reply. Big Surprise. Once again I realized this below average chain does not match quality with price and for a steak house it is sub par for who they think they are! Been to this location on several occasions and always receive top notch service. Hostesses are always pleasant, even when there is a wait! Server Nichole is the best! She is always pleasant with a smile on her face, even when you see her section is filling up. When she is my server, I am never without a drink. I brought my family to Outback this weekend and we had one of the best experiences ever. The restaurant was busy and they were on a wait upon arrival. The place was buzzing but the vibe was relaxed and inviting. You don't find that in many "chain" restaurants. We were sat in a big comfy booth and our server was ready to take care of us right away. She greeted us with a smile and talked to us like old friends. She made sure our order was accurate and she really payed attention to the details and modifications we requested. She even offered to put my kids dinners in first so they could get started right away...so thoughtful!! The appetizers were quick, salads were fresh, our entrees were perfection and the dessert was delicious. We really had such a great time. I think we have found our new favorite place. My husband & I love eating at Outback as it is our favorite restaurant! We are empty nesters now & the two of us can go out to eat & relax. We like to sit in a booth in the bar area as it's more private. When we take our family out to eat, Outback is where we take them & they love it also. I had an issue with a steak being to tough and they promptly suggested to cook another. I know that may seem like not a big deal but now days you don't have many restaurants so willing to resolve a conflict so readily and in a friendly matter. I was impressed and felt like I had been treated with respect and friendly service when I left. They even compensated my father with desert. I don't feel like they had done anything wrong it just so happened that I got a tough cut of steak, but they were more than apologetic. Second visit at this location since last month family enjoyed a wonderful dining experience! The food was very delicious and our table service from Nich (Nicholas) was outstanding! Two servers I have to name - Mike & Ryan. They are amazing!!! You can't ask for better service. Managers as well Sarah and Joe. This is a chain...that is all you need to know. You get what you get with a chain. When they first appeared their food was awesome, but over the course of time, the concern for quality slips and as is a typical chain..the food becomes ordinary. I have not been to Outback since it's hey-day...and I was flat out disappointed. Like a chain, their quality has dropped. Maybe it's the cooks they are hiring? I don't know. They boast steaks as there bread winner....but you need someone to cook it right....according to the menu. My steak was overcooked...the potatoes were flat out stone COLD....the only thing tasty was the mac-n-cheese.... I used to love this place...about 15 years ago....but they obviously have fallen into the chain pit of "couldn't care less" when it comes to quality. I used to think this was a great place to get a reasonably priced steak...but they killed it for me...now I know why it gets the ratings it has...so sad. Two star for the sole purpose that my server was great. When I arrived I sat at the hostess stand for about ten minutes while a lady was staring at something on the other side. Not sure what was going on but I moved past. We were finally sat after a little over ten minutes of waiting and a line accumulated behind us out the door. Time was about 4p on a Monday so I was surprised they weren't busy to start with. We sat down, again our sever was great. Super nice guy and very attentive. We ordered five cheese steak dip which was most definitely up to par for an appetizer. When our sever arrived again we ordered entrees. My fiancé ordered a burger and I ordered the porterhouse. After a few minutes they arrived. She ordered the blooming onion burger and it was up to par for her liking. As for my steak, I ordered it medium rare. Definitely not a great choice for a steak house. The steak was cooked over a flat top meaning no char marks, and mild discoloration throughout the steak. Probably one of the worst I've ever had and for upwards of 32 usd., I'll kindly head down the road to longhorn where they actually grill the steak. Pretty sure that's what sets steak houses apart. Definitely wouldn't recommend this to a friend or family. Sub par is an understatement. read more

My boyfriend and I came to the Salisbury Outback location on 06/13/2015 while visiting in the area. Upon arrival, the hostess pointed to the bar area and told us we could sit anywhere. Although it was nice to choose our own seating, it would have been nice if the hostess followed us to our seats, bc she failed to give us any silverware. We sat at our booth for probably 10mins before a waitress came over to greet us and take our drink order. Despite those small mishaps, the food came out at a reasonable time, and our waitress, Kelly, was great. We never had to ask for drink refills; our waitress was on top of it throughout our meal. She definitely went above & beyond to meet our needs. I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Disappointing. I was so looking forward to coming here, and craved a bloomin onion and nice juicy steak. I ordered the medium rare ribeye with mashed potatoes. What I got was a quarter inch slab of mystery meat. I say mystery because when I cut into it, it was white, like a pork chop would be. I've never had a white steak before, even if it was well done. The only thing that gave it any flavor was the garlic butter I had added to it. Even with that, I still had to add salt. My potatoes were a solid ball of starchy inedibleness. Yuck. My husband had ordered the filet, which was most definitely NOT a filet. I have never seen a flat filet before. Looked more like a sirloin. When we asked the waitress if there was a mistake, she was no help and said yes, that was a filet. That steak was also over cooked. All in all, my kids steak that he ordered off the kids menu looked thicker and better cooked than our expensive steaks. We got majorly screwed out of what should have been an outstanding meal. The service was terrible. We were there for 2 and a half hours! And it wasn't even busy. We had gotten there at 4pm. The only reason they even got one star from me was because the bloomin onion was, thank goodness, very good. But it looks like that will be the last one I have, because I will no longer go back to this restaurant. read more

I went to outback a few weeks back with my husband and daughter. We get there and it was not busy at all. I saw 3 other tables, that's it. We were sat and we wait, and wait, and wait. We see two other tables come in and get sat in our section and they both are waited on and we are still ignored. After 20 minutes we left. On the way out the manger said thanks for coming and held the door for us. Maybe instead of hanging out in the lobby you should manage your staff. I don't know if it was our age, are race, or that we had a child. But we were blatantly ignored by wait staff. I will never come back to this location. read more

Poor food and curt service - that's all I remember of my recent excursion to this Outback. We got a cold "welcome" from a lethargic hostess and it took the server a while to show up at our table to take our drink orders. The food did not make up for the awful service. Of the five people in our party, one got a burger with burnt meat, another got a smaller sized salad than she'd ordered and another got a chewy chicken sandwich. while Outback is a chain, each location has its own owners/managers that need to ensure it runs smoothly. 2 star rating is purely for my enjoyment of the food, which at least means the kitchen staff is on par with other Outbacks i have been to. met up with family we hadnt seen for a while, just 4 of us, not a large gathering or anything. we arrived a little early and asked to be seated for 4. they didnt listen and out table was only set for 2 (whatever, they brought extra settings later at my request mind you). our server immediately asked us about drinks and we obliged, myself asking for what flavors of iced tea were available, to which she replied they had none except fountain tea (which i hate). could have sworn i had gotten it before. hm. took a deeper look at the drink menu, wow there is the flavored iced tea right there! maybe she was new or didnt know what i was talking about but i think she didnt want to be bothered, and she snidely commented that there arent any free refills on it, as if it were unthinkable that someone would order a drink that didnt include refills. thank you but i know that obviously since i even know the menu better than you at this point honey. food was good. service was pretty bad. not that the server had ill manners or anything but seriously anytime we talked to her she kept rushing off, cutting us off in the middle of our order, or while we were talking to her and/or making a decision that called for a few seconds of discussion amongst the table. we were in no means taking a large portion of her time, but she just seemed like she couldnt be bothered to stand there and listen to us. newsflash! that is your job. as a server myself, and have trained many other servers, i do not appreciate an establishment that will train and allow their servers to perform in this manner. it was cold and unwelcoming. i was not the only one to notice it and her behavior became a joke at our table since we were all annoyed by it. read more

We went there Sunday night and that will be our last visit. The server was okay, not great. Twice ran by the table and asked if we were okay. Our appetizer was apparently burnt (which we found out from the manager, not the server) and they redid it and if they thought the one the gave us was better, they were wrong. It was inedible and I'm not a picky eater. The manager came out and offered to take it off the bill (but never did). I ordered a medium steak and it was definitely more on the well-done side and tough. Since we came because I wanted a steak, this was very disappointing. All this was after someone bussing a table dropped a tray of dishes as we were being seated. Things happen and I felt bad for the busser. Rather than reseating us, they let us sit there while they scurried to clean it up. Even afterwards, they would come by and pick up a random piece of broken glass. All this for $70+... Shaking my head !! NEVER AGAIN ! This was my first time going to Outback Steakhouse and last ! My appetizer was the assuie cheese fries and they were so under cooked you could call them raw ! Mind you this is a pound platter full of fries. I then got tenders and fries with a potato and my boyfriend got a burger and fries both of our sides of fries were undercooked basically raw like the appetizer so I told the host and they got us fresh ones. Then I hear the 4 hostess talking about us saying there's a lot of "drama" in this place. The restaurant was damn near empty but 4 young girl hostess sitting around talking, staring at me and my bf. How arrogant and immature can u get ? The potato which was forgot about that I had to remind them I got was disgusting so salty and tasted burnt on the outside ! The burger my boyfriend got tasted worse than a McDonald's burger for less than that ! And once we were leaving the hostess continued to look back at us then look at each other and talk, literally they need to be fired ! The food was so nasty and undercooked. really bad outback. we seldom go to outback but when we do it usuallh isnt bad. we stayed at the courtyard next door and got take out from here. cold crab cakes. steamed veggies were basically raw. They gave me a poorly unseasoned salmon that was suppose to come with shrimp and they forgot it. my husbands ribeye wasnt terrible. they also gave us barely any lettuce in our salads. beware, not worth the money. would've rather had wawa or panera bread. read more

As usual service was great, good was exellent, no one can prepare prime rib like Outback, always cooked perfectly. Our waitress was always a step ahead. We come for just appetizers and drinks sometimes and still always get great service, and the drinks are Awesome. Drive the extra half hour to go to the Ocean City location. This place used to be reputable but has gone WAY downhill. The waitress, Ashley, screwed our appetizer order up, sending out two different sizes of the cheese fries. The cook who brought out the right size told us that "she's always screwing up, she can deal with it herself". Super professional! Later in the meal my friend was drinking her water and found a chunk of hard plastic in it. When the waitress finally came back, we showed her the chunk and asked for another glass of water, she said she was going to have to get the manager. He comes over and tells us that he has no idea how it could have gotten there...it definitely didn't come from them. This guy was actually insinuating that we did this. I was done at that point and he could tell, so he comped our meal. The waitress came back with the water and the check and told us "well, I guess that's cool, now you know all you have to do to get a free meal is to bring in some plastic and put it in your drink" Thanks Ashley! I really hope you don't work here anymore because that was the RUDEST thing a waitress has ever said to me. We went to Outback to enjoy an unexpected dinner gift from a special friend. We had asked to be placed on the Wait List online and when we arrived were seated immediately. It was still fairly early during the dinner seating, and was quiet which set the stage for a peaceful meal. The dinner turned out to be absolutely delicious, with excellent service provided by our Server, John. Be sure to ask for him when you go. We enjoyed their house bread first, followed by one Aussie 4-Course Special, that included scrumptious Potato Soup, House Salad, Chicken on the Barbie with Barbecue Sauce, and Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and Cheesecake with chocolate topping (All for $15.99!)...and one Queensland Shrimp and Chicken Pasta entree ($14.99), with a side of Steamed Broccoli. This Outback is so consistent! Great food and the staff is so friendly and attentive. I was very impressed with how everyone hustled and "moved with a purpose"! Food was great. I've eaten here a few times and they always ask how I'm doing. I'm very quiet when I eat cause it's so good. Great atmosphere, great staff, great time.
