Food: 4/5 Service; 4/5 [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance: 4/5[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Early dinner for us and all went well. Overall it was good food.

Sticker shows Parmesan Corn, yet there was a sweet potato inside

Ordered delivery for Father's Day. Victoria Filet with Parmesan Corn (for an additional $3.49). The sticker on top of the container reflected the correct items, however when we opened it, there was a sweet potato inside. I called the restaurant and was transferred three times before the Manager rudely told me I had to contact Grubhub because "it's the driver's responsibility to look in the containers and make sure the order is correct". He took absolutely no responsibility for the incorrect item, though it was clearly the restaurant's error. It's absurd for the Manager to claim the delivery driver should be opening containers and sifting through food to ensure an order is correct, rather than the restaurant being responsible for fulfilling the order properly.

Living in Clairemont my family has come here over the years, even went to an Outback in Japan years ago...it's always been hot or miss... lately with places like Texas Roadhouse, they are giving Outback a run for their money. Went yesterday to meet my mom for an early dinner. She ordered for me so I let her there. She is elderly and was disappointed that because she thought the hostess saw her try and open the door and was struggling but went back to her hostess stand. My med rare steak came out rare, super cold in the middle and so we had to send it back. My mom's steak was med but was well done. Not sure who's in the kitchen but may need more training. We hadn't been in a while because the last time we went we got the prime rib and it tasted awful, super fatty and had a funny taste. That's what we stopped going, that was a couple years ago. Probably won't be a while til we go back. I could probably cook a steak better and cheaper. Def not work the $

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Visiting and wanted to go to a steakhouse that was kid friendly, we went in and were seated right away.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was a bit busy, we had to wait on drink refills, waited about 15 minutes for him to take our order and he became more attentive once the check was given. Food itself was mid, warm, and not cooked all the way through on one side of the salmon I ordered. However, the steak my husband ordered he said was good- no complaints. Overall, not bad but most likely won't be back or recommend.

I had high hopes considering it's been years since I've visited an Outback Steakhouse. The food just tasted overly salted. The service was not bad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were plenty of places to sit and it was spacious with booths and tables![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I don't think I would come back to this location again.

I had a late dentist appointment nearby in Clairemont, so i looked for a place to have dinner near the dental office. I used to work in the area, and I remembered the Outback Steakhouse was there, so I gave it a try. Parking was easy and convenient, as there is a parking lot surrounding the entire building in which the Outback Steakhouse is located. There are two handicapped parking places on one of the sides of the restaurant. I was surprised at how gracious and welcoming was the staff of the restaurant. For example, the hostess saw me coming through the double glass door entrance, and she immediately came over in assisting me with the heavy doors. That was a nice touch. The servers and managers were also very warm and smiling. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a bar area in the center of the room, and then the dining areas fan out from that space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A Clairemont Square staple for many years. This fair-to-middling steakhouse sits squat in the middle of the Square, like a slightly red-glowing beacon in the San Diego dusk. All jokey commentary aside--it's not bad, not at all. The best? Not that either, but let's get into the meat of this review already, no pun intended. For the price, Outback Steakhouse is pretty solid. The filet mignon, baked potato, chicken sandwich, and cheeseburger are all pretty solid here! You gotta love the complimentary rye bread and butter, too. The flavor and cook on everything is consistent, and definitely a slight notch above average. That said, this is a franchise chain and obviously they aren't pumping out the top-tier level of steak that you might find at a place like Cowboy Star or Freddy's Chophouse. But it's good for the price, like I said. The service is also consistently really good here. The wait staff and bartenders are all very friendly, welcoming, and show just the right amount of attention--helpful without being overbearing. If you're looking for a quick, good, decently priced meat-forward meal, Outback Steakhouse might be a good option for you.

I came here with my son for dinner. This location was on point. The server was kind and attentive. Host welcoming. They sat us right away. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered steak kebabs and shrimp pasta. I was skeptical about the pasta but it was really delicious. My son ordered ribeye medium rare. They cooked it to perfection. The Mac and cheese it came with was really good. My son said one the best he had in a steak house. Keep up the good work. We will be back.

    Sharks!
    Steph L.

Large parking lot. They are located right in the middle of the clairemont town square area near Krispy Kreme. Construction in the area is rough with lots of streets closed and lights out. Service was 5 stars. Staff was amazing and friendly. Went here to get their shark drinks! I always missed it due to the limited time they have these. This time, have an alcoholic $14 and non alcoholic Sharkey temple $6.49 version. I was able to bring my kiddo for them to enjoy their own drink! It was fun dunking the grenadine sharks into the drinks. The alcoholic one was a tad bitter. Food: got the blooming onion $12.49. Pretty pricey now. They brought a cute table riser for it like they do with pizza. Taste was okay. Not as good as I remembered it. Warning: do NOT let your kid even touch the iPad on the table. Just touching the games section on it caused us to be charged $3 for table games which was infuriating. It wouldn't even let you play the game on it as it tried to get you to download an app to play a game...but still charged us $3! Lesson learned and we will never ever let anyone touch those things on tables ever again.

Wondering if these steaks come off a gas grill or even a broiler? Our dry age ribeye did not taste dry age- these are flavors I know only too well. But alas, Carbon Angela's Kitchen deserves every flower, every reservation, every "you have to try this place" text thread, and every bit of love. This place has become one of my absolute favorite hidden gems in San Diego. Easily top five for me, and as someone who dines out a lot for a living, that is not a casual statement. There are places you like, places you recommend, and then there are places that start to feel woven into your actual life. Carbon Angela's Kitchen is that for me. Angela is truly the heart of this place. She has this way of making you feel like you are not just coming in for dinner, but being welcomed into something she deeply cares about. And Emanuele is absolutely part of that magic too. Together, they have built something that feels warm, generous, soulful, and so special. They feel like long-lost friends and family now, and I am honestly just so proud of them and all they are creating. The food is the kind that makes you want to order with the whole table in mind. The griglia mista is hands down one of the best investments you can make if you are dining with a group. It is the meat platter, it is the moment, and it is absolutely worth ordering. Four to five people can split it, especially if you are also doing appetizers, salad, wine, and a few extra things for the table. It is such a perfect nod to what Carbon was before Angela took over, when the space leaned more BBQ, but now it feels beautifully married with Angela's warmth, Italian influence, and the kind of hospitality that makes the whole meal feel like an experience. And please do not sleep on the rest of the menu. The short rib is fire. The arancino trio is always a yes. The eggplant croquette? Obsessed. The crespelle? So good. The Everything Salad is my favorite salad on the menu, and the street corn should never, under any circumstances, be skipped. I said what I said. The wine selection is top tier, the appetizers are memorable, and the whole place has that rare magic of feeling cozy, intentional, and completely unpretentious. You can come for a low-key dinner, a girls' night, a celebration, or one of those "we just need a really good meal and a really good glass of wine" kind of evenings. And the back patio? Perfect for an evening under twinkling lights. It is one of those spaces that just begs for a long table, good conversation, clinking glasses, and the kind of night that accidentally turns into a core memory. They also have catering menus available, which is very important information to keep in your back pocket if you are hosting anything soon. What Angela has built is honestly something to behold. One of the hardest-working restaurateurs doing the dang thing in a city like San Diego, and now opening Bedda across the way too? I am in awe and wonder watching it all unfold. It takes so much courage, grit, taste, excellence, and heart to build what they are building, and you can feel all of it in the room. Carbon Angela's Kitchen is a true labor of love, a hidden gem, and one of those places I will keep cheering for again and again. Go hungry. Order the griglia mista. Get the Everything Salad. Do not skip the street corn. Share Share Share, so you can try a little bit of everything and do a tried and true family style meal, you won't regret it.

It was a fun time but as always sad when friends leave, but i'll see them soon in SF! Def recommend this place, was really good!
