    Spend $10 before discount
    Soo H.

The Habit on Genesee Ave is my front runner for worst customer service in 2026. I was excited last year when I won a year of free double char burgers from The Habit. Lately it has been a struggle to get my free burger. The cashier/manager says I have to make a $10 purchase and then I will get a free burger. Each week I get a coupon in the Habit app for a free burger as long as I spend $10 before discounts. In the past I would add double bacon and the total would be over $10. When I mentioned the cashier/manager has rung me up in the past she said it only worked in the past because she did a manager override. Also she stated she got in trouble for doing the manager override. There was no point in complaining to management as it appeared the cashier was also the manager. I complained to customer service on https://www.habitburger.com that I was not being given my free burger and instead was given a burger after a $10 purchase. No reply after 3 weeks so I am writing this review. I went to the Mira Mesa Habit and they gave me my free burger after buying double bacon. Same with the Pacific Beach location. It appears The Habit on Genesee Ave decided to make their own rules in how they will accept coupons. Darth Vader: Calrissian. Take the princess and the Wookie to my ship. Ordered online and it was virtually ready within minutes. I'm a repeat customer here and always like to try new menu items. The food is fresh and hot when I get there. The inside of the restaurant is super clean and chill.

Love the habit ! Food is always fresh and the customer service is always great ! I love the tempura green beans and I like that they usually have a seasonal drink to try. The cucumber limeade was decent couldn't been a little more limey. But overall I always have a great experience at the Habit

Stopped by one afternoon before the lunch rush. I ordered the cheeseburger with grilled onions and sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious! Just wish they had ranch sauce for the fries. As they only have ketchup, which is not really my favorite anymore. They do have some seating outside with umbrellas. I prefer inside as they have booths. Service was friendly and speedy as usual.

Meat patty on chicken club 2nd time this has happened !

My order was wrong , this is the second time. I only eat chicken no meat. My chicken club had BBQ meat . I was unable to eat, after a long day at work. Wanted to resilve this but they were already closed! Wasted money and time

I haven't been to The Habit in a while--too many good burger joints in SD! I was pleasantly surprised at how good the charburger was. It was juicy, warm, toasted bun and melted cheese. I forgot the thing I hate the most about The Habit is how small their fries or frings (split basket of onion rings and fries) are. I got a small amount of fries and 4 onion rings for about $5. Dining area was clean and cashier was friendly. Only negative was their sauces at the sauce station was low or empty. Parking is always tough in the strip mall, but plentiful if you go at the right time.

After a hectic morning flight, we decided to go for a walk around the neighborhood. We decided to get something to eat and we chose Habit Burger. As we entered the entrance, there were two kiosks that you could make an order and pay without going to the cashier. This is a nice option if you're in a hurry and you need to speed the process. We ordered the standard char-burgers. We also ordered the onion rings and the tempura green beans. We opted for the ranch dressing instead of the ketchup. Overall, we had a nice experience. The food came out hot and tasty. The tables were clean. The restaurant itself was clean. Ample shared parking. The prices have gone up, but it's still an affordable option compared to some others.

The Habit serves up some decent burgers, but that wasn't the only reason we decided to drop in. We were in a group and some people didn't want to have a burger, so that eliminated In N Out. The Habit has a fair amount of options. They serve burgers, sandwiches, and salads. They have the Charburger, BBQ Bacon Charburger, Teriyaki Charburger, the Santa Barbara Char (burger on sourdough), a Portabella Mushroom Charburger, and even the Impossible burger (vegetarian). Of course these can be served with cheese and even an extra patty (AKA a double). They have a nice BBQ Chicken Salad, Grilled Chicken Caesar, Garden Salad, and the Santa Barbara Cobb Salad. There are plenty of options, and there seems to be something for everyone. We placed our order at the self order kiosk and entered our cell phone number. After no more than a 10-15 minute wait, we received a text telling us that our order was ready. The burger and fries looked (and smelled) pretty good. From the bun to the patty to the add ons (lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes), everything tasted nice and fresh. Fries were perfectly salted and crispy. The Grilled Chicken Caesar looked pretty good and everything appeared to be fresh. I rate the burgers here better than Shake Shack, but not as good as In N Out. I didn't have the salad this time, but in the past it has been good. It seems as though a lot of places are implementing self-serve kiosks (for example Shake Shack). The Habit has a couple at this location. Convenient if there is a long line or if you're unsure about what you want and need to look through the menu. Service is generally okay to good. This place is pretty clean and there was plenty of seating. Plenty of parking in this shopping center. Located in the same shopping center as Vons, Kohl's, 85 Degrees Bakery, and Jersey Mike's. We are fans... might come here once every other month or so. 3.5 / 5: Food 3.5 / 5: Service 4.0 / 5: Cleanliness 3.7 / 5: Overall (rounded to 4)

I would say 3.75 stars, so I rounded up to 4. What I did like about the Habit was this location offers a private parking lot and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I liked the pleasant service and quick ordering process. As far as food goes, the food was good. As far as cost for what you get, it's okay. We had multiple items in our order, but my family ordered the following Chargrilled Cheesburger $6.59 Chargrilled Hamburger $5.69 Kids Crispy Chicken Bites (chicken nuggets) $6.25 Grilled Chicken sandwich on sourdough $8.59 Side of fries $3.19 The burgers are about the size of an In N Out burger, so not big. My sons really liked the chargrilled meat and the bun, but were still hungry when they finished. My daughter liked her nuggets. They were a good portion too. My grilled chicken sandwich was okay. Nothing special. The bread was NOT sourdough and it was soaked in butter, very greasy and with the mayo (even though I asked for lite mayo, it was soggy). I was full when I fished it, so the portion size was good. The fries were good and we all enjoyed them. Overall I'd say the Habit was okay, and for around $35 it fed a family of four with two sides of fries, so that's good these days. I would go back to the Habit since I know it can feed our whole family and there's decent indoor seating. Would it be my first choice for a burger in San Diego, probably not, but it's still a good option I wouldn't rule out.

We ventured to Flama Llama, delighted by the wonderful atmosphere and friendly service. What I was not mentally prepared for was the most enlightening culinary venture that I would ever undergo. Flama Llama provided for my companion and I both a satisfying afternoon meal, and perhaps the most poignant dining experience I have enjoyed thus far in my life. The meat was tender and juicy. The vegetables more flavorful than I ever thought possible. The noodles seasoned to perfection. The chicha morada subtly sweet and divinely slaking. And the sauce -- the sauce was orgasmic. I used to not believe those who claimed that good food tells a story. Before this meal I was blind, but now I see the truth. Tension, melancholy, tenacity, and elation. So rich in intensity and meaning. To descibe in human tongue this meal that transcends language would be a disservice to its biblical splendor. I can only in good faith describe the effect that it had on me. I have never cleaned my plate like I did in this restaurant. I have never performed with such steadfast resolve. I have never been turned into a beast of a man and immediately satiated by such postprandial bliss. I was a mad, esurient dog, and Flama Llama's cuisine a gentle hand guiding me to fulfillment. How the sweet meal sang to me, beckoning me into this nirvana like Saint Peter at the pearly gates. This world is a savage one, but the food at Flama Llama has reminded me that no matter how crestfallen, no matter how mired in anguish we as humans have become, beauty endures. I am, in all likelihood, Flama Llama's #1 fan. Still, I wish I knew enough about cooking or creation of any kind so that I could appreciate it more. I wish I had it in me to become so skilled at preparing food that I could develop something even remotely close to this. And while I have my eye on other endeavors, I will never stop being inspired by Flama Llama. Such artistry I will be hard pressed to find elsewhere. I can only hope that one day I will be responsible for something that touches someone as deeply as this food has touched me. An incredible experience if ever one there was. I may no longer seek love from a human companion because I have found everything I need at this establishment. I do not say this lightly: Flama Llama has changed the course of my life forever. afterwards we went to costco and got a hotdog and it was pretty good too
