I'll just say that the food was..... Awesome! We visited outback at about 6 PM. The place looks busy from the outside. The server was a bit busy running around. A bit understaff I guess. I got the NY steak and it was pretty good! A bit spicy tho. I totally forgot what my friends got but I believe it was a 12oz Victoria Filet? We had not been to Outback in a long time but had previously had good food and service at the Thornton location. We decided to go there tonight for dinner and the the best waiter we've ever had anywhere ( Jesus!-ask to be seated in his section.) He took our order, asking if we wanted certain things before we could even ask. Our drinks were top notch and he offered to replenish before we had to ask. Our food was delicious-the most beautiful prime rib my companion ever ordered and my filet could have been cut with a butter knife and was done to the perfect temperature. We have eaten here many times. Once there was plastic or glass in the bread and we were not very happy with the way they handled that experience. We quit for a while but since we have had some very good meals and some ok meals. Tonight I was totally unhappy because instead of the 15%off with the AARP card, it was 10%, new rule they said. Then I instead of charging 3.99 for the wedge with a meal they charged 5.89, I had a 10.00 bonus card I had received when they were offering them during Christmas if you bought 50.00 in gift cards, but they would not let me use it with the AARP discount. Are usually like to go to outback steakhouse because it is a restaurant that has down my favorites when it comes to steaks, sides, consistently good fresh vegetables. I had the prime rib which was sadly dry and it's surprising when a place that has prime rib on the menu can do something mediocre. We had a server that was training someone which in my mind means that we're going to get extra attention from that extra person. I had a lemonade that was never refilled, our server walked by at least 5 to 6 times just to look and each time must've missed the level of my drink which is unfortunate again we were there for an hour and a half. My wife had a salad with ranch in it she said there was something spicy in it which there was which I find kind of odd because ranch doesn't have spicy components to it. The kids went to the restaurant on 120th the other day to have dinner and it was cold inside there. You can see your breath so I said something to the waitress was she was very nice she went back and told the manager in the kitchen and he turned the air conditioner down, but it came right back on and it was so cold in there we decided to leave even though we had ordered our meals plus there's kids running throughout the restaurant and nobody doing anything about it. Generally, I like to support family owned restaurants. For a chain, I must say, I love Outback! I usually get the Victoria's filet and the quality and taste is always consistently delicious. So we had a long day of moving and decided to that ourselves to a nice dinner. We opted to utilize the call ahead seating which paid off because when we arrived wrote were seated within 5 minutes of our arrival and they were averaging a 45 minute wait if you walked in . Unfortunately my wife ordered the prime rib and I ordered the porterhouse. When my wife received her entree it was overcooked, she sent it back when she received it the 2nd time it was undercooked. She opted to just give up and just stuck with what she had already ate. What a huge, expensive disappointment. I wonder if this Outback location makes its money off of the unsuspecting hotel guests nearby who come only once. My experience: The bread was almost tasteless, the side salad had barely enough dressing, the mashed potatoes had the shine and slightly rubbery consistency of instant mashed potatoes, my steak was under-cooked, although I put up with it instead of returning it so that we could eat at the same time. And the presentation on the plate was so disheartening when they put it down in front of me. It didn't even look appetizing. Just the steak and a plop of instant-looking mashed potatoes on a white plate with nothing else. And after dinner, my spouse and I agreed that the cheesecake was almost devoid of taste or flavor. What?!! The whole meal was extremely disappointing from beginning to end, except for my glass of wine which was pretty good. Needless to say, we won't be going back even though we live nearby.
