Best outback I've ever been to!! Food and drinks are always delicious no wait time when I take my family.

So I've been to the Outback several times and really like getting their food to go but it seems like every time I get takeout food from there, it's always missing something. No matter how many times on the phone I ask them to please check the order, something is forgotten. It really makes me mad when I get home and I'm missing a key component to my order, for example dressing for my salad or ice cream for my kids chocolate thunder. It really sucks when I have to call them up and complain. The phone wait is a complete waste of time in itself. I like their food, the staff is friendly, but it makes no difference in which Outback Steakhouse I visit, I have bad luck with getting my order right. I hope someone like higher than a managerial status from the company reads this and gets to the bottom of the issue because I can't be the only one who is missing food every time I get home. read more

Love the food (Aussie Cob Salad is my fav--hubby likes the wedge salad and is crazy over the fresh bread) AND the atmosphere,servers and hosts are always so polite and ready to attend to your needs...major points for customer service in my book.....oh and I love that they always get the door for the customer. We went here a lot while I was recovering from foot surgery(VERY handicap accessible) and I thought that was the reason the staff was so helpful, then, after I was back on my feet again, and having been hooked by great food and good company,we returned, and they STILL rushed to the door to open it for us....it is now a weekly spot for us(sometimes more than once a week) and we enjoy the great service and can always manage to get out with a bill we can afford AND leave a good tip---I'd say that means we are big fans :)))))) read more

I went during happy hour and there's so much variety on the menu! My favorite thing to get is the no rules pasta and it tastes perfect every single time. The server I had named Eddie is so so nice and always asks to see if your meal is going well or if you need anything else. read more

Food is so darn slow. Takes FOREVER. 42 mins to get an appetizer. Dinner food another 30 minutes. Bartender acting like it's his first night he didn't seem to have any idea how to do anything. Seemed clueless. I've heard people nickname this the "Outhouse". Omg now I know why: the bathroom is filthy and STINKS! You have to hold your breath when you go in there. I'll absolutely never go back. Staff doesn't seem to care and no manager in sight. I'm giving it two stars only because the food wasn't bad at all. Beer tastes rotten (draft beer that is--I switched to bottled and it was better). Just a very sad experience. It was actually much like the reality: an aged restaurant chain. Be careful walking around: the inconsiderate staff will plow into you while they try to get in and out of kitchen. Visited 12/19/17 at 7 pm. It was bad. Do something about the smelly bathroom please! We never got seated! When we arrived, we were told it would be a 20-25 minute wait. On the walk to the bathroom, I noticed 7 EMPTY tables. Let me repeat that. In one small section of the resturant, there were seven empty tables. Seven! Two 2-seaters, four 4-seaters, and a 6-seater! SEVEN EMPTY TABLES!!!!! When I finished peeing, I asked the Hostess about the empty tables and she told me there were still quite a few people in front of me. I got back in line and the person immediately in front of us told me she mentioned the same thing hostess and got the same B.S. excuse. She also told me that the manager was running around the restaurant--I assumed the manager was checking up on things. I went back up to the Hostess and asked for the manager. I was told I could get one of her business cards if I wanted to. The hostess didn't even want to tell me the manager's name! I got frustrated and left the restaurant... with the business card. On the drive to a different restaurant (that understands how to treat their guests) I called the manager, whose name was AMY. Amy told me she KNEW the tables were empty and insisted that they were kept empty on purpose to ensure excellent customer service once customers are seated. HUH?!? I guess they don't give a crap about customers who are waiting, only those who survive the artificially-created queue and are seated. When I confronted AMY about the seven--SEVEN, by God!--empty tables, she changed her story. She then insisted she had NO IDEA there were ANY empty tables. I pointed out that she said earlier in our conversation that she was aware and doing it on purpose, and she denied it. I told her I was going to visit YELP. So, what's worse, a manager who purposely leaves tables empty or a manager who is clueless about what is going on in her restaurant? If you want to explore which is worse, visit Outback Steakhouse in Westminster. As for me and the missus, we'll remember this day and if one of us suggests, "How about Outback for dinner?" the other will remind the other of the appalling service there and suggest a restaurant where the staff understands what "good Customer Service" is. read more

Came here this morning for a family lunch. Waited at the front to be greeted by a hostess for a solid five minutes. My family considered just seating ourselves because even the servers who walked by didn't think to seat us, or the party behind us. Finally a hostess came out from the back and she had a terrible attitude as she was seating our party. She wasn't apologetic about the wait and threw our menus down before going to the kitchen again. Isn't somebody supposed to stay up front? Miguel was our server. He was very nice but took quite some time to greet us. It seemed as though he had too many tables all at once. Not his fault. But it also looked like he was running all of his food (salads/soups/bread/entrees) and drinks too, so it took a long time for him to take our order or get refills. They should have had a food runner or even that one hostess helping run at least soups and salads. Overall we weren't impressed with the service at this location. read more

Always great food and appletinis. Every time we have been our waitress or waiter have always been so friendly. It's very clean and spacious. Can be loud at times and the bar area is a good size. Good place to watch a game. Ranch dressing is so good. Always get our steak cooked exactly how we ask. Garlic mashed potatoes are great too. I could eat here everyday. Delicious!!! read more

I ordered take out tonight for dinner. We got 2 New York strips with 2 sides each. As I'm eating my steak, I realize it has a funny taste, almost as if it's spoiled. I taste another small piece and decide it IS spoiled. So I drove back the outback, located at 549 Westminster Mall, Westminster, CA 92683, and let them know my steak taste bad. The guy asks me to wait while he gets his manager. The manager, Amy, comes out and I explain the situation and I could not be happier with the way she handled things. She apologized and asked if I was wanting another steak and I said , yes please. So she said it would just be a few minutes while the make me another. While I wait, she offers me a free dessert. And then, she asks me what my two sides were the I ordered with my steak and so I tell her I already had the sides at home I just needed the steaks. Well, she tells me, oh no, we'll give you your two sides so they can be warm and you can enjoy your meal all together!!! So then when she brings my food, with the two sides and a free dessert, she apologizes for the inconvenience again AND give me a gift card for my next visit. This is why we love outback. Not only is your food great, but people like Amy make us want to come back because you know how to treat your customers. :) read more

So sad--We love coming to this restaurant and we always enjoy the food but last night after a long day at work and a very long commute home I decided to call in an order to go. I waited on hold for over 20 minutes and I then called back and picked the option to speak to a crew member. (I think the crew member's name was something like Dennis) I told him I wanted to order to go and that they weren't answering. He said, "I'll just walk this call over to them--please hold". Silence...except for the ringing of the phone. No one ever answered! I called a total of SEVEN times and not once did anyone at the "to go" desk answer. But that's OK, I then called Woody's on Beach and Warner, was greeted immediately by a "crew member" there who was very cheerful and pleasant. I ordered basically the same items, went through the drive through and we enjoyed a great dinner!! Here's the kicker--husband was looking forward to the Outback rib eye sandwich but instead he got a Woody's French Dip without even knowing it and he was happy. Outback Steakhouse in Westminster--you should be ashamed of yourselves. You've got lots of competition out there! See 'ya! read more

My husband and I had dinner at the Westminster, CA location and was sadly disappointed. I ordered a medium well cooked filet M steak, and it arrived oozing with blood and the baked potato was not hot. Couldn't locate our waitress, another waitress appeared and we asked for assistance. I told her I would prefer it well done now....... it arrived 15 minutes later, flat as a pancake and dry and brittle. Obviously the cook (not even a chef) was disturbed by my returning it. I could barely cut it, nobody came back to our table to see if we were satisfied.... it was horrible. Now, when you pay over $70.00 for a dinner, you expect better service and also food prepared well. Will never return to this location again. Have been here previously, no problems, but now....yuck. Why would we ever return?? Will be calling the manager today, to see if he is aware or even cares. I will also have him know of this negative review.... read more

I was very disappointed this evening at the Outback Steakhouse in Westminster, CA, a restaurant that I have frequented often, and until now have been very satisfied with. The issue is not with the quality of the food or service, but with misrepresentation of the meal served to my wife. Based on the picture in the menu my wife ordered the Steakhouse Salad that displayed 8 thick juicy cuts of steak placed on a nice salad. What she received, however, was only 6 thin cuts of steak. I brought this to the attention of the manager who defended the discrepancy by stating the steak for that meal was only a 6 oz steak, and would not discuss it further. I looked back through the menu and could not find any indication what size steak was included for this meal, only the previously described picture that must have used twice that amount of meat. Anyway, I was not trying to get a free meal, or even a reduction in price. I was only attempting to bring this discrepancy to the management's attention in order for them to take corrective action. Unfortunately it seems the management doesn't even want to admit to the discrepancy, let alone take and corrective action. Guess we'll have to find another steak house to frequent. read more

I have come in here for dinner with my mom a couple of times and it has always been a great meal! We always sit at the bar, John I believe is his name always takes care of us so well. Amazing customer service he remebers our names and order even though we have not been in here for a while! Makes us feel right at home. Our salad and steak were superb as always. As far as food is concerned, Outback is Outback. However, I just wanted to give props for this particular location's cleanliness. Any family with small children driving for hours between LA and SD would be hard pressed to find a more clean location, including the bathrooms. Used to enjoy coming here & used to enjoy the food. Ate here with hubby on Monday night & we were seated in bar. Didn't ask to be seated in bar but went with it anyway. What was strange was that all the other customers who were seated in the bar area were families with children. Loud, hyperactive kids. We ordered the blooming onion & it was incredibly greasy & salty & kinda burnt tasting. Then I had the clam chowder as one of my sides. It was incredibly salty. I had a petite filet mignon that was topped with shrimp & lobster. It had some weird cheese like substance that was melted all over the shrimp. Yuk!! Then part of my filet was inedible as there was a fatty, gristly part that I couldn't even cut through. My husband had the top sirloin which I noticed he only ate part of. Then to finalize our sub-par food, some loud bar patrons walked in and greeted each other with a few "f" bombs & "s" bombs!!! Nice! Thanks for seating us in the bar. Haven't been to outback in 6+ years and remember the steaks to be mediocre and fatty - maybe I came in with low expectations and was unexpectedly satisfied with everything...came here for a wedding post-rehearsal dinner with a large group of about 20 people - service was nice and cheerful. Was happy to find hefeweisen on tap at the bar. For appetizers, enjoyed the bloomin' onion, cheese fries, and wedge salad; the spinach artichoke dip and fried mushrooms were decent. Liked the ribeye, and really enjoyed my entree - baby back ribs! surprised they were so good and comparable to lucilles. they brought a complimentary slice of chocolate cake a la mode for the table, nice gesture! read more

I lived just across the street from Outback and tried them out for the 1st time last Sunday. I knew its going to be expensive so I was prepared. The 3 of us ordered the prime rib with crab cake, sirloin with the lobster/mushroom topping, bbq combo with chicken, rib & coconut shrimp and also ordered the onion sticks for appetizer. We just have water instead of ordering the pricey/fancy drinks. The bill was close to $80 with tips. The prime rib was quite good, very tender & tasty. The crab cake was a bit small and lots of fillings (other than crab) & salty. The sirloin was ok, not bad but nothing to cheer about, the lobster/mushroom is just a slurry/paste with some chopped up losbster(?) mixed in with some sauce & mushroom. The rib & the chicken were very, very salty, omg how can they make anything so salty? Coconut shrimp was fine, not bad at all. The onion stick was also very salty! Service was good and the place is like the typical Chili's. For the price I think I can do better elsewhere. read more

So just went there tonight and Meh...Ive had way better. First off we walking and they say it will be about 10-15...that turned into 20-25....Secondly the place was very loud, cold and badly lit. When we were seated the light hanging above made me feel like I was about to be interrogated. Next thing was the bread n butter....it was ok until I found a HAIR IN MY BREAD! Then came the Cesar salad.....had a random spice to it and it was very dry.....a little more dressing would have gone a long way......Next the lobster tails and steak...Lobster was a little hard and cold....I would have loved it if it was soft and warm.....garlic potatoes and veggies on my gf plate were pretty good and the service was satisfactory but other then that the bill....$63! not including tip.....my verdict? For the price....Id say go to Ruth's Chris or Maggiano's and you'll be way happier with the taste, atmosphere and portions. read more

I am sad to give this 3 stars, but unfortunately I have to, we decided to try this Outback because the one we had been going to seemed to be very slow in service and the food was not as great as it used to be. This one, although the food was better, the service was just as bad as the one in Buena Park......basically non-existent, our server was friendly enough, when she was there, but was rarely there. The food takes such an incredible amount of time to come out as well, even the salad too more than 20 minutes to arrive, I asked for a 2nd cup of coffee and they had to make more? So they have customers who ARE drinking coffee, but they just have none made for refills. Listen, I realize that Outback like many others are trying to slow things way down to give you a taste of a "Fine Dining" experience, BUT.....have they ever BEEN to a fine dining restaurant? First of all, the service I impeccable, very attentive, and ummm FAST, like on Hell's Kitchen, Ramsay wants that food up to the pass perfectly cooked AND in under 8 minutes! So to wait more than 30-40 minutes for our actual steaks to get there and for that amount of time, my medium well steak was only MEDIUM? Not good. However we did notice that tables ordering alcohol got totally attentive service, and they never wanted for a thing! This is the main reason we have stopped going to some restaurant's, because for whatever reason these servers assume that if your not drinking alcohol, there is a cap on their tip due to the check being lower, sadly though, they couldn't be more wrong. I still do love the food at Outback, but I would rather just order it to take out and eat it at home. read more

Outback's new Ribeye Melt sandwich sounds delicious but it is far from it . Some things are not what they seem. A lousy mushy bun and meat sliced too thick and supposed cheddar cheese on top. How bout provolone or Swiss ... Cheddar did not work. .. A lousy sandwich . I would expect more at a high school football game but I expected. Much much more at Outback. It was rubber meat not Ribeye. Stay away !! read more

I was not sure what to expect from Outback as it is a chain, but I had seen the owner of this chain judging on a top cooking show and liked what I heard. I had the filet with Bearnaise and crab....wonderful for the price 5 stars! I love filet and eat at Ruth Chris at least 2 times a year this is quality. The wine list is not good and very antiquated. (not over priced though) Staff..I thought the hostess team of two girls professional and not friendly, the waitress overwhelmed, but EXCELLENT considering her work load, we got a nice good bye , but would have rather had a water after being there 15 min after seating. (they were not crowded for a Fri night at 700) good deal for the money, and I recommend ordering your food when you order your drinks. I will be back!!! read more

I've only just started going to outback but the steaks are delicious! Nice, thick cut sirloins with little fat, it gets straight to the business. I've been getting the Walkabout Wednesday deal where you get a 5 oz steak, fries, and a drink for $9.99. I've yet to be disappointed. And of the three or four times I've gone, I've always been incredibly satisfied with my server. I plan on going back soon. read more

After a disappointing experience at Buena Park Outback, my wife suggested we try the one in Westminster at the Mall. Being a fairly nice husband I agree to go try that one. We get there and they are busy so we get a page and were told the wait would be 15min. Well we only waited somewhere less than 10 and we were seated. The young man, Alexander, promptly showed up and asked how are night was going. Now at this point many people would just say "Fine, thank you" and be done with the niceties but not me. I let him know that we had just walked out of the Buena Park Outback due to lack of service and as of right now they were doing a much better job just by him showing up. He apologized for the other restaurant and assured us that this wouldn't happen here. He was absolutely correct. We put in our order and he was very prompt and every thing was great. He let us know that the bartender was a bit behind in drinks and would bring out our drinks as soon as they were ready. Within a few minutes we had our drinks. I do have to say the service was AWESOME (yes caps emphasize how great it was). The food was great and exactly how we ordered it. I can't say enough about how the service was here. This is a very nice local bar and restaurant. However, don't be surprised if they ignore you if you are a woman over 40 something! I've noticed this by John and a couple of the other bartenders there and I think there is no excuse. Business women have a right to go to bars just like men do, and should be welcomed accordingly. Also, John one of the bartenders is notorious for overcharging you for a drink, so watch out! I recently ordered only 2 glasses of wine and came away with a check for over 18 dollars!
