Went to this location on my way back to work to try it out, and oh boy is this place not only just serving good food but also great margaritas at a good price. I walkeed in and was greeted almost immediately the servers, at the counter Nick helped me place my order and he made it so easy, loved it. I got their crispy fish sandwich and a strawberry margarita wich by the way blew my mind, everything was excellent, the bartender made the most beautiful and delicious strawberry margarita ive had in a while. Started with the 1855 burrito $11.95 Added shrimp as my protein $.80 Added sourcream $1.00 Added avocado $2.00 Added extra shrimp $2.75 I don't even know why I added extra shrimp, it doesn't need it. We've been eating at Wahoo's for about 19 years and I'm surprised that I hadn't posted a review before. Our go-to has always been the Maui bowl with black beans and white rice. The Maui bowl has tender marinated steak in it and is very yummy. My wife always gets the Wahoo's chicken bowl with black beans and white rice. It's always yummy in our tummy!! Dr told me I need to incorporate more fish into my diet. I don't like fish. Usually hate even smelling it. I decided to try and mature my tastebuds and go for a fish taco. The fish tacos and taco de papa were good but kind of cold by the time they were served to us. They also tasted a little bland and needed more flavor in my opinion. The salad was also good and tasted fresh. My favorite dish was the onion rings with ranch. They weren't too greasy and were cooked to perfection. Can't say enough great things about Wahoo's. I think they are top notch in my book with consistency, freshness and flavor. I have never had a bad item there but stay pretty much with my two blackened chicken tacos 1988 style with White beans and white rice. Every now and again the family will all come out and we can get the chips and guacamole which I love the thickness of the chips but I do put a bit of salt on the guac. I go here at least 2 times a week for lunch and have been getting the number 2 original style chicken tacos with all white rice. There's never really much you can say about Wahoo's that hasn't been said one-zillion times before. That being said, there is always something unique about every Wahoo's you go into. The unique aspects never change and there are two of them: Ambiance, and staff! Much like any other Wahoo's, this one doesn't fail in it's surf and skate energy. You can almost smell the ocean in the air and feel the sand between your toes as you watch their skate and surf reels. I'll always keep Wahoo's energy near and dear to my heart. Alas, not all Wahoo's experiences can be the 5/5 stars I want them to be. This establishment specifically has wishy washy customer service. Some days you get the nice cashiers and servers, other days you get the disheveled ones. No matter what, Wahoo's will always be my post-surf go-to snack spot. During the last few years the food had been hit or miss but I attribute that to Covid and staffing issues. However, last night I stopped in for a to-go order and had a very bad experience. I ordered a protein bowl with salmon and carne asada. I also ordered bajaladas. The bajaladas were hot and fresh. The only thing that was fresh from the protein bowl was a slice of avocado. The salmon was dry, and the veggies looked wilted. Everything was luke warm and appeared to have been sitting around for a while. I shouldn't have eaten it, but did. I was sick to my stomach all night. I go to Wahoos for good nutritious and fresh food. This was certainly not that. I stick to a few items off the menu since I love the few items and don't want to mess with a good thing. My go-to's are the classic 1988 fish tacos with a wedge of lime. These are the best don't fall for the blackened fish the regular is just perfect the way it is. Get the black beans and the white rice for the combo. The tacos come with double tortillas and a large piece of fish, cabbage and a little bit of cheese. I will split the fish in half and separate the tortillas making one taco into two. It's the same food but looks bigger. I order extra salsa and top it on the rice. It's so good. Secondly I order the shrimp burrito. It's very tasty and simple yet so good. I don't get it wet or add anything special just some hot sauce or salsa. I tried the banzai bowl (shrimp) and it was okay. Won't order again because the tacos or the burrito are that good. read more

There are actually two Wahoo's within city limits, but this one on the northwest corner of Warner and Beach Blvd is more inland compared to its counterpart on PCH. If not for the big WAHOO'S sign by the sidewalk, you could easily miss the restaurant while driving. If you download their app, your rewards page gets frontloaded with a reward for a Free #1 entree as a way of saying thanks for downloading the app. I tried using it at the Long Beach location, but for some reason, the cashier at the time did not honor it, making me rather unhappy. However, at this location, Jordon took my order and was happy enough to honor it. He was pretty chillaxed and patient in answering my questions. Definitely appreciated my business! It was only about a 5-minute wait before Matt presented me with my plate of brown rice, Cajun beans, and a salmon enchilada. For the enchilada, it came with one of mild sauce, spicier sauce, or half-and-half (half mild, half spicy). I went with the half-and-half. The enchilada tasted great albeit not much inside compared to a taco. The sauces made up for the deficiencies though, and having had tacos, but not enchiladas, several times in the past, it was finally nice to break through and try something else for a change. Still, I'd prefer a taco over an enchilada. The beans were great too! As tasty as the other Cajun beans I've had in the past! Brown rice was just regular brown rice. Nothing more to say. Service was great! A couple servers checked on me in a rather short period of time asking if everything was okay. I gave a thumbs up! The parking lot is not terribly spacious, but rather a bit claustrophic instead. Be very careful driving out because you might run into oncoming traffic for the nearby Woody's Diner. I've been to this location twice and have not had issues with parking. After a long, grueling day, a salmon enchilada plate from Wahoo's Fish Tacos definitely hit the spot!
