A unique family-run restaurant with friendly staff and amazing food! This place is for someone who wants delicious food and doesn't mind the chatter of children in the background and dim lighting. The staff who own the place are super nice and fun to talk to. The pancakes are the BEST! My only complaint it the booth seats aren't comfortable and I seem to always get cream for my coffee that tastes sour. I really think this place is a hidden gem of Taunton. This was our third breakfast outing (previous two were in Dighton) and the minute we walked in it felt like we were in a shady bar. It was very dark with limited lighting. It actually had a bar in it but more for people to sit at and eat. It is family owned and not many tables inside. We ordered our food and it took a while (at least 25 minutes) before it arrived. But before you think this is a bad review, IT ISN'T!! It was worth the wait. The food was delicious!! My ham, spinach and swiss omelet was one of the best I have ever had. The sweet bread french toast was out of this world. I usually drench my french toast in syrup but I didn't have to. Coffee was excellent and the service from our waitress was very good. Hollandaise sauc was amazing. I like my home fries string and these were chunks of potato but still flavorful. Would absolutely go again. read more

I ordered food from this place. When my son picked up the food he lost his balance on the stairs. He went back in and explained what happened and they charged him 3.00 for the drink again. I called and spoke to lady and another male over phone about it. Very poor customer service. Did not even care about my son or the fact they need to repair their stairs that sink in and not level smh. I have eaten here probably 20 times. I never get the same thing and I'm always happy with my food. The service sometimes is a little slow because they make everything from scratch. My fiancé and I wanted to try somewhere different for breakfast so we decided to give this place a try on Sunday 2/25. First impression when walking in,is the place looks like a dive bar but almost every table was full so it can't be that bad I suppose. We were seated right away and asked what we would like to drink. I have lived in the area all my life. My fiance and I stumbled across this place today. I was a little concerned when we pulled up and even more so when we walked in. The place is very dated. But right off the bat we were greater with a smile and welcome. Then the menu was just amazing. So many creative dishes I had the OV pot pie breakfast with a side of French toast. Pot pie is biscuits, homemade cornbeef, eggs, country gravy and cheddar cheese. It was out of this world. My fiance had eggs, home fries, toast and grilled kielbasa. She loved it. Great place if you're looking for a decent breakfast, but as time has gone on this place seems to be getting more and more lazy with things. Last time I went I ordered a muffin and it was actually still frozen... that's not ok! I feel like it's because now vs a few months ago they have more customers in there and they haven't increased the staffing. If there was a zero star option I would've given it. My family came here today (03/10/2019) and received the worst service ever. For starters, when we entered the restaurant we were not greeted, just stared at and since we've never been there before we didn't know whether we could sit ourselves or wait for a server. That was fine, not a big deal. Once we sat we were approached by our server. To make a long story short, she did not want to serve us. When taking our drink order she didn't let us complete our sentences without interrupting and moving on to the next person. My brother and I both ordered coffee, when we received it it tasted old and not too good. So I waited for our server to finish up what she was doing and when she finally approached us after 20min of waiting, I told her my brother and I did not like the coffee. I asked her nicely if there was anyway we'd be able to switch both of them out for different drinks like a soda or OJ. She proceeded to say with a rude look on her face, "I've been here for 7, 14, 20 years and no one has ever complained about the coffee. I don't know what you're talking about." I then say, "I'm not other people, I just don't like it and wanted to see if we could switch it out" and she goes "Whatever, i'll do it this one time, but never again because then everyone is going to come in here thinking they can switch their drinks and i'm going to lose business for that. Now what do you want to eat." At that point I heard enough and asked for the check so we could buy the drinks and leave. What I don't understand is how, switching out two coffees for aprox $1.29-$1.49 for a fountain drink or OJ that is over $2 is going to make her "lose business" and is a problem. I asked nicely and instead of just saying "we can't do that" or "what would you like instead?" she proceeded to give me an attitude. Needless to say I will never come to this establishment ever again and I advise you all not to as well unless you want crappy service with an even worse attitude behind it. Four stars not five ONLY because the service takes forever. But other than that it's my favorite place to get breakfast. They have a full bar which is great because you can grab a drink or two while you wait. The wait is always worth it though. The food is SOO good! A little on the expensive side but you get what you pay for. I will say the atmosphere is very dark and dank but it is a bar after all lol It's just weird to have breakfast in an environment like that. All in all though, love this place. read more

We tried to call ahead to make a reservation and ask about seating availability due to COVID. The person answering the phone was extremely rude, replied "I don't know" when asked about availability and hung up. We called back and was met with the same rude responses again. Ok so I am a . regular to this place. The reason is the food. OV's is a husband and wife team and they sometimes get overwhelmed. The food is made to order, every plate, every order. No microwave in the kitchen. Ov trys to offer creative specials and the prices are very reasonable. You do have to realize that this is not your normal American restaurant were you are loaded with fries or sides. Many dishes are served without sides. You really have to ask to make sure you know what you are getting. That being said I have had some of the best meals of my life in this place. Ov is a creative son of a gun and it is fun to try new combinations of food I have not even imagined. Lamb Marsala on cheese ravioli comes to mind. Delicious under $10.00 . So put on your big boy underwear and give this place a try. Closed Tuesdays and open for supper only on Friday nights and bring cash to avoid credit card fees. OV's is awesome! I live close by and have breakfast there several times a week. I'm usually accompanied by family or friends who all love the place! OV's has an interesting menu and a unique, delicious omelette selection. Don't be fooled by the dated exterior. The food is great. The portions are substantial. It's a husband and wife team. OV is a trained chef and works the kitchen. He's creative and he can cook! Ani, his wife, attends to the front of the house. Ani is super sweet, fun, and she remembers every detail of your order on return visits. OV's typically serves a local following that enjoy the food and regular company multiple times each week. I always appreciate little hole in the wall places and the interesting decor, which this place has.. but that was it. I walked in and wasn't greeted at all but I was rudely yelled at to not bring my outside coffee in. I have never been here before so I didn't know what the procedure was. I then saw a tiny sign saying to seat yourself. Every single table in the place was dirty and had food and drinks left all over them. It wasn't even that busy so I didn't understand why it was such a mess and my food took about an hour to arrive. I then needed to use the bathroom but it was disgusting and both toilets were filled to the brim with toilet paper and there were plungers everywhere. I finally get my food and then all of a sudden a ton of kids come from the back room with no masks on and start running around the restaurant playing and touching everything. ( clearly the restaurants owners family or children) The waitress came to the table with the bill holding a child in her arms with no mask. I felt so uncomfortable at this place that I threw down the money and took off as fast as I could. I have not had Corona, but I feel like I'm going to get it now. We arrived at 11am. There was no sign that said to seat yourself so we waited at the door for about 8 minutes until someone yelled for us to seat ourselves. We did and it took another 10 minutes for anyone to come and take our orders. By then it was about 11:20 and our silverware was handed to us dirty as you can see in the photos. No server came to check on us or update us so we couldn't exchange the nasty silverware.. for over 30 minutes. We have waited looong periods of time before in restaurants, this wouldn't have been such a huge deal but neither of the two waitresses in the place said a word to us about it and neither of the two other families on our side of the restaurant had gotten anything either. One of us ordered a sandwich, one of us ordered a salad, one of us ordered a waffle, and I ordered a pancake. In over half an hour, no one said anything to us and we did not recieve any food. We did, however, recieve two glasses of orange juice that tasted like cough medicine. Due to time constraints and spending an hour waiting for a small amount of breakfast in this dump, we decided to finally book it. We left a dollar and a $1 off cat treats coupon to cover the drinks and now we're sitting at Smokey Bones. As a recent transplant to the area...and a self proclaimed foodie...I have been very impressed with this place...The owners OV, Anja, are awesome...they treat you like family from the first visit...Ok...the place is kind of off the beaten path..but that's what makes this place such a great find...having travelled the world with the military it's refreshing to find a spot that blends the taste and flavors of the owners native Armenia with the classic American breakfast fare..You must try the OV Champion...the Sajuk sausage is just fabulous..the menu is at first a little overwhelming but a closer look reveals that there is something for everyone... read more

This service in this place is a joke!.....tried it 3 times thinking I just showed up on an off day.....first 2 times were busy Sunday Mornings with never more than 2 waitresses....took 10 minutes to be acknowledged and the both times the food took over a half hour.....so I tried it one more time today...was not busy so I was somewhat hopeful the service would be better...sat at the bar...took 10 minutes to get coffee and then another 5 for him to go back for some cream and sweet n low....then after another 10 minutes the one waitress that was working asked if I was ready to order and I said I might be If I had a menu...so eventually I ordered my breakfast and it came out surprisingly quickly.... About 15 minutes...it was pretty good ....typical breakfast eggs...homefries...toast....bacon....the kicker came when after waiting at least 15 minutes for her to come for the check...I went to pay with my debit card and was told that it would cost me 20% TO PAY WITH THE CARD!!!!!.....I hope the 20% was worth me never darkening their doorway again and this nice review on yelp which I have never done before... My son and husband eat at this restaurant almost every week. Although I only join them occasionally, the waitress always remembers my order. It is a family run and worked restaurant. I don't mind a little wait when I know that the money is staying with the people serving me as opposed to some cookie cutter corporation. The food is good and hot when it is served. read more

Eggs were not cooked. They didn't seem to want to remake them. They did and the new ones tasted funny. Maybe bad. I didn't eat them. Had eggs with bacon sausage and pancakes. The pancakes were good. She asked if I wanted chocolate chip blueberry strawberry or plain. I said blueberry and my friend got crepes and she asked her if she wants the same and marsacapone cheese. She got cheese and strawberries. she asked as if they were included. When I questioned the bill she said "It's on the menu ". And our bill was hand scratched on the back of a keno slip! I've driven past this place a handful of times and finally decided to stop in and try it this morning. The parking lot was full so I took that as a good sign. Walked into the restaurant and stood for about 5 minutes before one of the patrons told me it was self seating. There are no signs indicating this. My fiancée and I walked around looking for a place to sit and all of the smaller tables still had dirtied plates and cups on them. We finally found a table to sit at (mind you, it was only the two of us for breakfast) at a table that sat 8 people. We waited another 10 minutes or so before a girl took our drink orders. It took us another 10 minutes to receive said drinks. We spent well over an hour here and we finally received our food. I ordered the OV2x4 with a Belgian waffle, scrambled eggs and toast. EVERYTHING was burnt. The waffle was so burnt I couldn't even cut through it with my butter knife. My fiancée lucked out with his egg's Benedict, however he said he would've rather eaten someplace else. I really wanted to give this place a good review, but I just don't see how. There were only two waitresses, one taking orders and the other serving drinks. Poor service, terrible food, and expensive for the slop you're being served. Take your money elsewhere!! read more
