You can never count on them being open. It's says 24 hours but that is not true. Sometimes they are open and sometimes they are closed. You also get a recording if you call about them only being open limited hours. It's very unprofessional to run a business where customers can't count on you to be open or not. read more

Food is still good here but the atmosphere is usually annoying at times. Either it's always the same Mexican beat playing, or the short Latino guy in the kitchen is always yapping away or singing. If that is some kind of authentic experience it's not what I want. Despite the food almost always being good so I keep coming back, there is the lack of silverware that is so cringe. Today, finally the knife broke as I was trying to cut into my chicken fried chicken plate. I always come for this, or the burger or wings. They had proper silverware in the beginning and now have totally given up and provide plastic ware only for dine in service. Mostly importantly, there's an employee there who one time literally told me "not to tip", and almost skipped through the final tip screen before I stopped him. Pretty sure that's illegal, to touch any button on that screen once it's up. Now he just hits the no tip button, which I have to change, but it's because you guys default it to like 20% or something. Which is kind of greedy if you ask me. Will these things change? Who knows. But they would make me a bit happier when I come to OWL. read more

My favorite item there is the nachos with chicken. The chicken tastes like real roasted chicken. The breakfast tacos and burritos are good too. All their ingredients are fresh and tasty. I don't even know where to begin. The atmosphere is energetic. Good music playing while 4 women were tearing it up in the kitchen. My husband got the chicken fried chicken hash and I got the potatoes hash add chorizo. Chicken was INSANE. 2 huge pieces with yummy sauce. The chicken was still crispy and didn't get soggy at all. Chorizo was so yum. I thought it was going to be crumbled but enjoyed the patty form. Potatoes: WOW. Crispy and flavorful. I would eat here again and again if we lived down here. Came back for a follow up and this place does not miss ! Switched it up and came by for SATURDAY brunch and it just so happens to be Birra Taco day so we took a stab at it and ordered a set of three. Let me tell you, melts in your mouth and so flavorful, best birria tacos I've had in Michigan since moving back from CA. I have always wanted to give this place a try and when another restaurant didn't work out for my friend and I. She suggested us try out this restaurant. The parking lot was packed, so that was a good sign to me that the food must be good. We entered the small diner. They were tables to sit at a counter where the food was prepped and also you can sit at and then another long counter along the windows. The menu is small, so it was easy to pick something to eat. While I did want to try out the chicken sandwich while walking to the counter to place my order I noticed someone else's food that looks really good so I decided to give that a try. The service was really nice the and fast I ordered the fried chicken and gravy. It came with potato Texas toast and eggs. The food was amazing! One of my friends did order the curly fries. My husband's favorite stop on the way home from a midnight shift. Everything is spicy, so skip the sauce if you can't take spice, but everything is delicious. His usual is the chicken fried chicken, but I like the burgers or chicken sandwich (hold the sauce - just mayo for me). The place is small, but the people and service are great. read more

I kept passing by this restaurant and didn't think I'd ever get the chance to try it! We came for breakfast on Memorial Day. Not busy at first when we arrived, until it got closer to 11. It's not a big place. Around 15-20 seats inside and a few tables outside. I did see people doing carry out though so at least that's an option when they're busy. They do have parking right in front, but it's the awkward kind that's right off the busy street. If you're concerned about that, do parallel parking on one of the side streets. The staff seemed nice. Although the guy at the register seemed kinda unhappy to be there. Maybe he wanted to be off for the holiday. I got the chorizo hash and added bacon to it. My older sister got chilaquiles, and my other sister got cilantro potatoes and Texas toast. She also added bacon. It was delicious! Very filling and generous portion of potatoes. And the hash had plenty of meat. They didn't skimp on the chorizo. Toast came with my meal. It was buttered and not too heavy. My sister's chilaquiles was mostly chips. Pricey for what it was. She had to add the beans to it. Still, it was kinda...plain. Chilaquiles really is chips sometimes dipped in sauce and served with beans. Not worth the price for what they were charging! I got to give it to them, this place is still pumping out the late night eats. I love their double layer nachos $11 pour on a little extra macha sauce these are heaven. The cilantro potatoes are the whip and I love the chili cheese fries I usually get the curly fries. All tasty and good. They keep the food standards high and the quality is also good. And I think the prices are really fair. That's why the is usually busy, but step up order the counter and they keep moving. I used to love coming to owl for a late night snack. It's conveniently located on Woodward - a prime watching spot during the summer. It's small but cozy, limited seating, but takeaway is always an option. Service is acceptable. However, my last few visits here have left me with my head in the toilet bowl. The burger and tacos have given me food poisoning and the wings still had feathers attached to them after being deep fried! I would only come here again for the juices. What started as a great little food spot has sadly been demoted to one of my least favorite places. read more

I ordered delivery of Avocado Toast and a side of cilantro potatoes. They both were great! The toast had a hard-boiled egg mashed into avocado as the base layer, which I had not tried or considered doing before, and was topped with fresh, crispy sliced radishes, carrot curls, and cilantro. Because I ordered delivery, the toast was a little soggy, but in person I bet it wouldn't suffer from that. The multi-grain bread had great texture from the seeds and was a good thickness. As for the potatoes...total mouthgasm. Yum, yum, yum! The Yukons were a bright yellow with perfect texture and they still had some shape and bite. The potatoes were buttery, studded throughout with grated, melty Cotija and liberal amounts of fresh cilantro. If you are a cilantro lover like me, have no doubt that you should order them! read more

The place is overall quite small but given many orders are carry out or are quick bites to eat, it tends to not be an issue. Overall, menu prices were very reasonable and while done have a massive amount of items on the menu, they tend to do all of them well. I got a torta and a coffee which was delicious! I was very surprised at how large of a portion size the torta was and it was delicious! The chicken in the sandwich was definitely slow cooked and could have used a little bit of salt and the salsa all over the sandwich was the perfect touch! Coffee was well brewed. The best food. Granted, you will wait a while, but there's really nothing more they can do with the space they have. They consistently put out AMAZING food, consistently give GREAT service, and are properly staffed for the space in the kitchen. The fact that we have to wait is just an ode to how phenomenal the food is here. Haven't been here in years, primarily due to off-standish service. Well nothing has changed. Came here for breakfast 2 mornings back to back. The guy taking your order treats you like a nuisance, especially if you ask a question. There's a small army of people doing prep in the kitchen, but not a single one will either smile, talk or be even remotely friendly. Try to get a coffee refill! The first time I ordered the chorizo bfast sandwich. It was perfect and delicious. The soft egg and runny yolk was perfectly cooked. So despite the terrible service, I craved another sandwich the next morning. So I subjected myself to the rude servers, and the overall lack of customer respect for another sandwich. This time the sandwich was terrible. The egg was way overcooked. So with my craving extinguished, I won't be back here for at least another 4-5 years again. read more

Menu includes vegan options - my friend got vegan tacos. Downed the soup in nine minutes 10/10. Soup was rich in flavor and so generous with amount of meat and vegetables and only considered an extra for 4$! Grilled chicken was juicy 8.5/10.
