Just tried for the first time with my son. A great addition to Four Points area. Self serve local craft beer and wine. Great Burger. My son could not stop talking about how much he liked the burger. Very kid and family friendly. It was packed when we got there but were quickly able to seat ourselves. They were great! Me & my coworker buddies went out for a girls' night. You pour your own beer and get charged by the ounce so you can try a ton of different beers. It's like being at a self-serve froyo place. It was a fun concept and the draft list was varied. Between the 5 of us, we must've tried every beer and half the menu and everything was great. Been waiting for it to open, go in all excited. At the counter I was met with real nice people. Excitement wained as the format came fourth. Start a tab and get a card that inserts into the taps. Ok. Walked the line of taps, mostly local brews, OK. Nice person from counter explained to another person and myself to insert card, find glass and open tap fully open to NOT GET FOAM. He walks off and the other person gets glass full of FOAM. We look at eachother and I pick a different tap, pull hard and FOAM. I cut tap off as FOAM gets to rim, walk to table sit down and wait for FOAM to settle, I get a half a pint. Now my curiousity kicks in, go to counter and ask what is my tab at currently,? Was told 4.50. I was lucky I didn't pour off the foam it could have been a very expensive beer. So making the FOAM the patrons problem is a good way to get profit and to offset the problem with coolers not getting the beer cold enough to pour well. Tired of gimmicks read more

If you care about your health don't visit this am establishment, as they are not enforcing the mask wearing ordinance. I was there yesterday when a group of 6 adults walked in ,none wearing masks, and the staff said nothing to them. As the three stars say, it's A-Ok. The food was very good and priced fairly. Loved the selection of beers you could pour yourself. Here's where it gets a little rusty, but they're new so maybe they will work this out. We came in at about 11:30, lunch-time but there was one party ahead of us in line. You stand in line to order your food then go sit down. With one party ahead of us, it took 10 minutes to get to the register to order our food. I thought, "maybe they're ordering something complicated" but when I saw them carry the food out later, it was just burgers. That process is broken. I cannot imagine if there were ten groups in line how long the wait would be. They have 2 registers, but it just doesn't seem efficient. I would make the registers just for the purpose of ordering beer vouchers, and do everything else at the table. It's for the benefit of the restaurant as well. If you can get people to the beer taps faster, that's more revenue. Second thing. I'm conflicted on this because I understand that if you pre-pay your food and drink there's a chance you won't tip. However, automatically including a 15% "gratuity" is not a gratuity any more. It's a "service fee". I would prefer to see the food be 15% more expensive as this leaves a sour taste. Especially when the experience is self-serve. Sure, the owner and employees bring you the food and come by, but still- this is off-putting enough that I won't go back no matter how good I thought the food was, and how nice the people that work there are. Finally, and this is just a superficial detail. It's a very well designed, pretty space. I would add something in red on the tables to break up the all dark gray. I hope they succeed, and over-all the concept is fun, the food is good, the drink selections are great. Just needs a little tweaking, that's all. read more

The self-pour idea is a neat concept and unique in Austin! We would come back for drinks. However, the food experience was AWFUL! We ordered burgers from one of the kiosks. After an hour, we asked about our food and were told it was coming. Twenty minutes later, we asked again and they said they lost the order and re-took it. When the food finally came out, almost two hours after we ordered, it was not only wrong but was so-so. No offer to take it off our bill or compensate us in any way was made, despite waiting 2 hours for food, and they automatically added 15% gratuity for their very lackluster service. Good food.. friendly staff but hope in the future they will either have dispensers that you can pre-select the ounces you want. If that is not possible; maybe have different sizes of glasses... a 2oz, 4oz, 6oz or 8oz. That way you know what you are getting and clearly state the price per ounce. It would also be helpful if a staff member would bring you an itemized receipt before you leave. And one last thing, since this is a mostly self serve place, please leave off the 15% gratuity tacked on & when you bring a final bill let that be up to the discretion of your customer. There is a great selection of beer and wine and and the kids have games and a playscape to keep them busy outside. Was utterly disappointed in the service and food quality. My friend had his 21st birthday party here so a bunch of us came in to order some. Little did we know, the food is wildly overpriced for small portions, and my brother got a literal raw chicken sandwich and ended up taking a full bite before realizing it. When we confronted the team, the employee was surprised and frantically apologized, although the manager refused to comp the item from his tab, she said "no, we are making him another one" and proceeded to "comp" by giving him a water bottle and tiny chocolate chip cookie. It's safe to say I will not be eating here again. Although I will give her credit, as she came out and confronted the group apologizing, comping the item completely, and clearing things up. Still some wild things were said and was overall off putting, this will be my one and only time going to this restaurant. I think Rosanne, the manger, is a kind person and meant well, but she handled it very unprofessionally. It could and should've been handled much better by Rosanne. read more

I've been to other places across the US that employ a similar concept and it's great if you are an out of towner and want to taste a bunch of beers from the area. I'm not sure their location will support this as it's a bit off the beaten path. We went to enjoy a couple beers after work, so for the casual drinker, the first thing I noticed was the price per ounce is high. If you just want to taste a little of a lot of beers, maybe, but if you just want a pint, you could easily pay $8-10 a pint for a beer from ABW or PHP. The self service I can see working if you know how to pour a beer and it was also nice to not have to wait on a server to order food at one of the many kiosks they had around. So then instead of servers they have people around to run food and pick up glasses. We accepted the inflated price of the beer thinking that all the extra costs associated with food runners were part of the higher price per ounce. But at the end of the evening, there's a 15% service charge tacked onto your bill. So four beers split between a couple (and no where near full pours) ran us over $40 where it would have been half that somewhere else. It's pricey. I get it, they are new and I hate writing reviews while they are trying to iron out alll the kinks, but they are so overpriced for what you get. This review only serves to let others know before going in that you're paying a lot for the novelty. Maybe they'll make adjustments. I hope the owners see some of these reviews and reassess the cost and the separate service charge, because it's too expensive to make a regular hangout. read more

4 stars for the function of this place. The idea of the wall of taps is great, I think the cup sized are perfect. It could use some legit more comfort than the picnic table stuff. Like, some comfy chairs so our asses do not fall asleep on a wooden bench for 2 hours. The food is pretty good. No complaints on the food really. The chips are kinda too thick and not really a session tortilla chip where you will crush a bunch. Kinda heavy and oily. The burgers are legit, you get what you ask for and they turn out great. The mandatory 15% gratuity is weird when you are the person doing all the work. I question that logic and would ask they build that into the cost and do not publicly paste that everywhere. Dudes, we are getting our own beer and ordering our food in line like a mcdonalds. Where is the value in the 15% upcharge? This is not a resort, like do not charge me a resort fee. Just smuggle that into the overall cost. It comes across like some asshole tax. I want the employees to be paid, I want this place to be successful. To ask that I tip the same as some other place that is taking my order and waiting on my table is not cool. Pro tip, be More Cool. Be less asshole 15% tax for self service DYI. read more

I was there last night with a large group of women (around 30). When I got there it was very busy and no available tables. The rest of the group wasn't there yet so I wasn't in a rush to snag a table. I did tell the woman working that we had a large group coming and she was very helpful in getting us a table as soon as people left. There was a lot of beer, wine and cider on tap. I had no idea how to do a good pour so one of the workers came and showed me how. I had the Oz burger and it was pretty good! Not the best burger I've ever had but still really good. Onion rings were awesome! The only thing that I can see being a problem is I forgot to close my card and pay before I left which I did over the phone when I got home. I only had 1 drink so I can imagine this will happen a lot if it is full of drunk people. I also love that there is a playground outside. My kids can play while my hubby and I have a drink! I really wanted to like this place as our neighborhood needs more restaurants. Going with kids is challenging and the food is OK, no where near the best or great, rather OK. You need to order all food and drinks inside and potentially leave your kids outside at the playscape solo that is not completely fenced in. In fact it is open for them to run onto 2222. If you want a refill you need to again go inside and get it yourself and leave the kids solo. OR you can round up everyone from the playscape yelling and bring them inside to get a refill of whatever...wine, beer, water...etc... With everything self service and trying to manage kids at the same time it was not a very pleasurable experience at all. Lastly, I personally do not drink beer and try to stay low carb when choosing alcohol. There where no low carb options (only beer, wine and cider) and out of the 4 wine taps only 2 worked. If you are low carb this is not the place to have a cocktail. If you want to drink beer without your kids and serve yourself this is your place:) read more
