My boyfriend and I came here while staying in town at a nearby hotel. It is such a cool concept and I'm glad we were able to try it. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and the patio is dog friendly. When arriving you check in at the counter - they'll give you your "tap card", and you can order food here as well. The tap wall had about 40 choices and you can do pours of as much or as little as you want to try them. My boyfriend and I each tried 3 beers while here and enjoyed most of them. The online menu had pretty good flavor info for most of them, so you could tell what you were getting. A lot of them also seemed to be local beers which makes it even better! We shared the nachos and some carnitas tacos. Both tasted great, and you could tell that they were homemade. I preferred the nachos but you can't go wrong with either. My only complaint (and reason for 4 stars vs 5) is because the menu pricing they had online on their provided menu did not match what we were charged for food. Super fun and family friendly restaurant and a beer garden! I learnt it is the very first Texas' self-serve establishment! Their PourMyBeer system offers something for everyone, besides a great selection of local craft beers, they also have a variety of cocktails and wines! Try their margaritas if that is your thing. I personally love Hazy IPAs so the Electric Jellyfish is my jam! The food is awesome with lots of great vegetarian options, I love their veggie burger and I have tried multiple salads, too. All of them were fantastic! The staff is very welcoming and accommodating as I have organized multiple work outings with them, not to mention the owners are awesome as well! Definitely a great spot. 10/10 experience! I came to ATX with friends for the long weekend and we stopped here for dinner because it was close to us and am so glad we did. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was some of the best I've had. I will definitely be going back!! It was incredibly quick to get our food ordered and brought to our table, plenty of good beers to choose from, and we were checked on a few times throughout our time to make sure we were doing okay. We really enjoyed this place which was an accidental find on our way back from one of our activities in Austin. It is a self-serve concept, so basically you are given a card to scan anytime you want to order a wine, beer, or a cocktail from one of their many taps. You also place your food order at the counter and they bring it out to you. The fried avocado tacos were amazing and my significant other really enjoyed whatever tacos he had, which I believe were the Carnitas. Why four stars then? Two reasons. One is I was really confused on how much I should tip. I usually don't struggle with this being a bartender, but since we had to pour our own drinks and order food at the counter , I wasn't comfortable leaving a full 20%. Second, when you are pouring your beer, the price adds up very quick. There was one point my boyfriend poured a pint glass and the beer ended up being $22. That was a bit of a letdown. Otherwise the staff is VERY friendly and welcoming -they run a very tight ship. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean and the layout with a big outdoor patio is a bonus. Highly recommend, just watch the higher ABV beers because they add up fast! read more

When ordering, the staff is friendly but I feel that once the food is served, it stops there. Maybe the staff could check on the customers periodically, take their empty plates, etc. and possibly assist them with their drinks even though I know it is pretty much self serve. I just ordered lunch from Oz tap house. We got fish and chips, fried pickles, a baked pretzel, a Caesar salad and a cheesesteak. The pro's: The ranch dressing that came with the fried pickles was pretty good, As was the coleslaw. The cons: The fish and chips portion was small and soggy. It was two pieces of greasy fish, that iterally had no flavor. Fish and Chips is one of my favorite foods and I've had it all over the world. Never had I gotten it without flavor. How do you make something taste like nothing? Granted. I asked that the fish & chips have no hot pepper on it. Unfortunately, Hot pepper is the only spice Oz uses. The fries were cold inside - clearly not hand-cut. The Caesar salad, was spicy in a weird way. It was not good. The Philly Cheesesteak was very very spicy and greasy. The Baked Pretzel - Auntie Ann's does a better job, this was a VERY basic, previously frozen pretzel. Nothing special and not worth the price. The fried pickles - under seasoned and instead of crisp, they were chewy. Again not good. Everything was extremely spicy, from the fish & chips to the Caesar salad. Food items that traditionally aren't spicy, were all grossly over spiced with hot peppers. Oz Tap House needs to learn how to use spices without making things spicy. I ordered the cod fish with onion rings and kids' strips to go. Cons: The fish and onion rings had no seasoning whatsoever. The onion rings breading was practically nonexistent and soggy and covered in vinegar cause some genius had the bright idea to put the plastic vinegar cup inside another container of hot food... WHY!?! The cup opened (becoming warped due to the excessive heat) and soaked the onion rings and fish... YUCK!!!!! Why don't you have sustainable packaging so that this doesn't happen? That would also help not to have soggy food upon delivery. Pro: Strips were ok. read more

Definitely a fun experience to be able to pour your own drinks at your own leisure without needing to wait on someone to come get your order. There was a element of fun that came with it as our group was able to try multiple varieties of each type without needing to commit to drinking a whole glass like traditional places would have it. What made it more unique was that the selection wasn't your typical brands that you would find. Food was on the okay side. We got several menu items and none of them really stood out. For the price we probably wouldn't order the food again in the future. We did highly enjoy the outdoor patio area! The ambiance was brilliant and they even included a kids playground for family friendly fun. While our nephew was playing we were able to have our own fun with corn hole. Stopped in for a Sunday patio meal at oz Taphouse. They have a very clean, really cool indoor and outdoor patio. They are also dog friendly outside as long as they're leashed. I had a half order of carnitas nachos which was pretty good sized. Some of the chips were a little stale so that was my only nagative feedback. I love the concept of this place. Being able to pour your own drinks and only paying for what you get is great. The only down side is that the non- happy hour prices are really high. With that being said, we usually only stick with the happy hour beers. Otherwise your are looking at an $8-9 beer at times. The appetizers have been pretty good. Can only attest to the food as so far i've only ever had take out or delivery. The biggest drawback first is, it's pricey. Not five star expensive, but definitely above average for the area as a whole. That being said, the food is fantastic and the menu has a range to satisfy almost every taste. All the food is top quality, large portions, and very tasty, I've sampled the burgers, the loaded fries, the onion rings, and several appetizers and they've all been hits. My favorite are the honey-chipotle wings (very overpriced, but no arguing with the taste) and the giant pretzel which I order every single time. How lucky are we to arrive in Texas and meet this amazing place! It was like stepping in paradise. Delicious food and a whole variety of beers. We tried a few of the beers and had some Tex-Mex. I tried the sangria beer. I believe it was number 32 on the panel. If you like sangria and bubbles go for it, It's like sangria with bubbles (GF) Husband had a few other kinds of beers which I tried and oh Man, It was very good! Nothing like I ever had before. I also had the house tacos (3) with chicken, steak and fried avocado. The fried avocado was definitely a hit for me. It was full of flavor, creamy and crunchy at the same time. If you are visiting Austin like us and want to drive away from the city you won't regret going to Oz Tap House. I've been here a few times after active days of hiking and being outdoors and wanting some comfort food! Oz is a great spot to fill up with a burger and drinks. I've tried the portobello mushroom burger on gluten free bread. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious this was. Their sweet potato fries are my favorite side. I haven't tried any of the drinks on tap but my boyfriend has and really enjoys the selection. I like the options available to close your tab and to tip the staff. You can either go up to the cashier to close or pop your card into the tip jar by the door and be on your way. They will close you out later. So convenient! read more

This place is so much fun!! You get a card that is attached to your credit or debit card and you just put the card in a slot and get to pour beers by the ounce. It's actually really cheap! Most places I've done that let you pour your own beer are overpriced. Oz had very reasonable prices even on IPAs which are usually expensive. We got their Caesar salad and house salad both were amazing and very large for the price. I also got the chicken and steak quesadillas that were on special, so delicious, perfectly seasoned and meat on both was very tender.
