Awful, awful, awful experience with Fast Water Heater Company…read more My Home Depot-purchased Rheem water heater failed while it was still under warranty. My warranty covered the replacement water heater but not the labor. I called Home Depot and they forwarded me to Fast Water Heater Company who insisted on cutting Home Depot out of the loop and installing a water heater from their supply rather than taking mine back to Home Depot. Even though I called at 1pm, they couldn't send someone until the next day. Over the phone, they quoted me: $859 for installation $153 for the permit $49 for a "disposal fee" (which they wouldn't need if they went through home depot) When their two installers arrived, they tried to upsell me $3500 worth of unnecessary and inflated charges. - They tried to sell me a $20 pan for $72 (not optional). - They would charge $160 for rolling the water heater on a hand-cart from their truck on the street to my ground floor water heater closet (no stairs, no lifting, not optional). - They tried to sell me a $35 expansion tank for $350 (optional, but they tried to scare me into thinking it wasn't. I later chatted with my engineer neighbor who said it was completely unnecessary). $859 for 2 hours of work is already an absurd hourly rate, and they're at least tripling the cost of every "not optional" add on. They ultimately quoted me over $2000 for all their "non-optional" up-charged add-ons, and I refused. I called around and found another installer who did the work for $950, including pans, hoses, and a trip to-and-from Home Depot. This company is taking advantage of people's trust in Home Depot and they should honestly be ashamed of themselves.

TEFLON tape?! hahaha i ain't stupid. once they snaked and was not able to get through, they said that the next step was to find the clog in the wall open the wall cut out the pipe and replace (a 1.5k+ job) i asked if there were any other options like hydro-jetting or such and they said hydro jetting would spew out everywhere not able to be done second floor i did my due diligence and called a few contractors that knew plumbers that werent on yelp a guy came in the next day, hydro-jetted the clog out in 30 minutes without needed to do any of the above, and only charged me $60 lol beware of the upsell! + though, since they did not get the clog out they did not charge me, just off putting on the blatant upsell. the owner seemed nice though.

I really appreciated that their price didn't change after an in-person visit to our house, which happened with ALL of the other companies. They used a trenchless Perma-Liner system to reline our pipe, so they didn't have to tear up our yard. It basically creates a new pipe inside the old one which is pretty cool and is supposed to last forever. They even carefully dug up a hedge and replaced it when they were finished and it looks like it's going to survive. They also installed a new cleanout and fixed a pipe offset that was causing problems. All of this only took about a half day and everything seems to be working perfectly. The crew was friendly, showed up on time, and were easy to work with the whole way through. We would definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

He personally came out to look at our pipes and provided reasonable recommendations based on his assessment. We got our pipes relined and a two way cleanout installed professionally. Everyone in his crew (including Daniel) were super nice and were willing to educate us about the work that was being done. He also identified some root balls / blockage past the sidewalk in the sewer line, and let us know that it was the city's side of responsibility. The Yelp reviews for Carlson Plumbing were fantastic, and the service absolutely lived up to them. Not only were they able to come within the hour from my call, but the pricing was almost half of what I was quoted by several other companies. Gilbert and Logan were friendly, helpful, and quickly replaced the leaking valve and got our water back on in no time. They even offered to help move the refrigerator into its designated spot, which was definitely not part of their scope and very appreciated (we ended up declining, but the offer alone said a lot). They also pointed out a secondary water shut off we had completely forgotten about. Also worth mentioning, this was the only place I called where I actually reached the office and not a call service. I can't remember her name, but she was incredibly helpful and honestly saved us by getting someone out so fast, especially since we were without water at both our house and our attached rental. Carlson Plumbing just earned a new regular customer. Not a service you want to need often, but really glad to know who to call now.
