Friends and I went to PF Changs on a Saturday night. In Waikiki. Need I say more....crowded. Waited about 30 minutes to get a table but, got a nice table outside on the patio. Its kinda cool people watching while sipping on a cold beer. Went to my "android" phone, checked in on yelp.com and to my suprise there was a free Chicken Lettuce Wrap appetizer offer that just popped up. Our waitress was very nice but, didnt know what yelp was all about nor did she know how to use the offer. So, off she went to get some help. a few minutes later a large bouncer type person (who is probably gonna read this) stopped by the table to redeem the offer. Did I mention he was really really nice? he explained to the waitress that yelp was the best website out there and that I would most likely write a review about tonights experience. haha who me? FOOD ORDERED: Tempura fried Green Beans-yes, very addictive. The sauce that came with it was a little spicy so we used the sauce from the spring rolls. Spring rolls-Good. we liked the dipping sauce. I was craving some Asian Fusion, and my friend had never been here, so we decided to go. It was a sunny Saturday and we were seated immediately. Our waiter was super. He was friendly and quick and genuinely a cool guy. We ordered drinks, and vegetarian lettuce wraps to start. They were awesome! So awesome that I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps, and while good- i did prefer the veggie ones that had yummy tofu in them. I also ordered the coconut shrimp. They too were excellent, but if you are looking to share- you only get 3. We had just arrived in town after a long trip and wanted to sit down and eat quickly so PF Chang hit all areas. We were seated in Paris' station. He was an awesome server. He brought our appetizer right away, kept out drinks filled and brought our food piping hot. The food was delicious but I think Paris made it awesome. I will definitely go back there soon. 2/19/17 So we are back on O'ahu and decided to come back to PF Changs. Well this experience left a lot to be desired. Oh waitress attended to everyone but us. It too her 20 minutes to take our order. And she disappeared never to be seen again. We finally had to get a manager to give us refills on our beverages and get us the check. Came here for a late night dinner. It was a bit of a wait but no big deal. The bar was open, and the hostesses were friendly. We started with the Dynamite Shrimp which was very flavorful. & yes, there was quite a kick to it. I like spicy food and it was delicious. I enjoyed it and would recommend it if you like shrimp and spiciness. I got the Chang's Chicken Noodle Soup as my dinner and it was very large. I am glad I did not order any more. This is great for sharing if you want. The noodles are choppy and I liked that. It was not messy and I could easily scoop it on to the spoon. I am not a fan of the shitake mushrooms, but I did not bother to eat it. I also did not think the cherry tomatoes belonged but overall the dish was nice and flavorful! I would get it again and recommend it if you are in the mood for soup. The other dish was the VIP Duck. Another good dish to share. Duck was good and juicy. We took the rest for left overs and it was still good! The flat bread was a bit stale, but it must just have been an off night. Drinks were also good & worth getting! It was my first time here, and I must say... Lettuce wraps are on point! What's so awesome is that they have the check in deal. If you check in, you get a free appetizer! Give it a try, lettuce wrap will not upset you. At first, the plan was to go yard house. Upon reading yard house reviews, my other half and I decided to walk over to Pf chang's. The service here is fair, nothing about our waitress really impressed me. She was good at giving recommendations, but I guess when I eat out, I have high expectations when it comes to service. We decided to go for the dinner for two. I found that it was an awesome price for two people, I believe we spent 60 bucks for the price of two, which seems reasonable for the amount of food we got. We started off with soup, the Bird nest soup is yummy! As well as the spicy soup, it will not fail you. We decided to have honey shrimp and spicy chicken. They were bout yum yum! As for the dessert, we had ice cream. I had a mango yogurt while my other half had a pineapple coconut ice cream. A nice place for a light happy hour drink and snacks in the middle of hub of tourist driven Kalakaua Ave. PF Changs is on the corner of Lewers and Kalakaua. The pan fried dumplings was spot on, with their sauce drizzled on the plate. Value priced and cooked well. They have a decent amount of offerings for wine, beer, and cocktails. Were it not for the fact that I had a late lunch and dinner reservations at Imanas Tei later in the evening, I would have succumbed to the temptations of other happy hour offerings including crispy beans, lettuce chicken wraps, and dynamite chicken. Taking into account that this is at the Royal Hawaiian center and has outdoor seating, it is a great place to people watch, or take a brief respite from shopping to rest, recharge, and shop some more. read more

This is our second time coming here. My boyfriend and I staycation in Waikiki every year for our anniversary and this is always the place we go! The service is awesome from the hostess, to our waiter, and to other friendly waiters and waitresses who pass by! The food comes out in a timely manner and is always so spot on!! PF Changs We last visited PG Changs in 2015 and left the restaurant loving it. When we were planning this current holiday it was on our to do list!!! So, we attended on Thanksgiving for dinner..... The restaurant was fair full and staff we busy, the waiter was pleasant enough but we asked a few questions about the menu and it appeared to be an inconvenience that we had the questions. Anyway, we order a cocktail, a beer and a few soft drinks to get us started. We spoke with our waiter and asked about portion sizes and sharing meals, he assured us that portion sizes were large and all their meals were designed for sharing. He also said that for a party of 5 big eaters he would recommend the friend rice and 3 - 4 protein dishes.... He then claimed he doubted if we could eat it all. Shortly after we ordered our meals, we ordered a wonton soup, fried rice, crispy honey shrimp, peppered steak, changs spicy chicken and sweet & sour chicken. Within about 2 minutes from ordering another waiter came out and started placing food on our table. We immediately questioned if it was our food, as it was nothing like we ordered. He left the plates on our table, got our waiter and when they returned started taking the food off our table and placing it on the table next to us.... I don't want to be picky but I found this unconventional to say the least. About 15 minutes after this, our wonton soup came out and it was without a doubt the highlight...... once we finished the soup, the other meals began to flow out onto the table. a large bowl of fried rice, which was lovely... all the other foods were delicious however the downside is there is no way in hell the portions were large enough. I feel that maybe PF Changs needs to review it serving sizes.... We were a party of 5 people and in all honesty the portion sizes were probably good enough for 3 maybe 4 people at a stretch. I'm having a hard time writing a review for this place. I mean let's face it, the food is good/decent. I haven't been to a PF Chang's in years and decided to give them a go here in Waikiki, mostly for my kid's to experience. We've walked by it a hundred times when here on vacation. You need a reservation or you will wait a very long time, the place is always packed. I'm assuming people come here because it's more affordable than most places in Waikiki or they have small children and need a place that's loud. We ordered the Orange Peel Chicken, Beef and Broccoli and Honey Walnut Shrimp which I've always loved...but there is now Honeydew Melon Balls in there? Why? Anyway, we also checked in on Yelp and got a free appetizer, we chose Crab Wontons. Our waiter was very friendly. It was a bit humid and uncomfortable sitting upstairs on the outside patio. They need some air movement up there. The food was decent, it's not really cooked to order food. They serve family style and it was fine. We left there full, it's just that these chain places are not really special, but I knew that going in. I was just wondering if they had evolved over the years, but I don't think so. on April 15 we went for lunch at 2 PM to PF Chang in Honolulu. Service and food was good but we end up to have the worst dining experience we ever had in our entire life. After we finished our meal and paid the bill, I noticed that my shirt, pants and shoes are infested with bedbugs. The bugs were walking on the table and on the chairs. I panicked. I went to the front desk and complained and said your chair is infested with bedbugs but it didn't look like they took me serious. Went home and end up to throw my pants shoes and shirt away. I didn't want to take the bugs into my house. My complaint is that I tried several time to call PF Chang to let them know it was bedbugs, and they shouldn't let anyone else sit on that table, but nobody was picking up the phone. Finally, I gave up and I was exhausted and didn't want to go back to let them know in person. I don't know how many other people got infected after that. At the very end this was the most expensive dining I had because I paid for my lunch and on the top of that I had to buy new clothes and shoes. I pretty much try PF Changs anywhere I travel- have it at home in SoCal twice a month. I was dissapointed that they did not carry Rombauer Chardonnay one of the main reasons we like PF Changs. The salmon was good but my spicey eggplant (get this every time) was not only green but half cooked. Needles to say I woke up with a tummy ache that night- so overall- PF Changs lovers- this place is a mediocre quality for what you are used to. I don't go to P.F. Chang's in the mainland as it's usually super crowded + long wait, and the food is too salty + greasy. But things are different here which I found out last time. Based on our positive experience from last visit, we came back here again. You can still make bookings via OpenTable which makes it so easy. Yelp check-in offer of free appetizer is appreciated as well. We were taken to upstairs table. Our waiter (I forgot his name) was very polite and friendly. After Lettuce Wrap has arrived, I noticed we didn't have our plates. When I mentioned to him, he apologized and ran (literally) to the back area and ran back to our table with plates, and another apology - very impressed with his manner. Chopped Chicken Salad and Shrimp with Candied Walnuts were delivered, new plates were brought and used plates were taken automatically. Food was not heavily coated with sauce or grease. We came here with a family group of 9 on a Saturday during the Christmas swarm. We had a reservation that I made by directly emailing with the sales director for 6:30 pm. Once we were all assembled we were given a slip, sent upstairs and seated right away. The place was very busy with large groups but our server came by promptly and took drink orders which were delivered to the table without delay. We ordered some appetizers which also came out post haste. Food wise -things were pretty much the same as every other restaurants in the chain-decent quality and selection. The most noticeable thing about our visit was weak service team and lack of coordination. Once we placed our order, the food (sweet/sour chicken, curry chicken, sesame chicken, spring rolls and beef/broccoli) showed up in under 15 minutes-very fast-delivered by a team of runners. But we sat there for several minutes without plates. Eventually we got up and grabbed our own from the stack at the servers station. It was quite a while before we saw our server again. Perhaps our waiter was new, overwhelmed or just too busy but the service at this location during the hectic Christmas week late on a Saturday wasn't what I've e oriented elsewhere in the chain. Service was good, however, the food is the not same if you're used to the PF Chang's in the mainland. The crispy green beans were battered so poorly that it wasn't crispy. It was so thick and when I sent it back asking for a crispy version, they just re-fried it that the came out so oily. The Mongolian beef was way too sweet. I guess their cook likes sweet stuff or who knows, maybe because you're in Hawaii, they tend to have sweet dishes. Also, their menu is not the same. They don't even have pad Thai in the menu. They do have more sushi roll options. But why would you eat sushi at PF Chang's? Just saying, it was ok. But it if I knew Gyu Kaku was so nearby, I would have gone there. read more

Went for Xmas lunch and it was pretty jammin' in there. We waited about 10 minutes for a table and we were seated outside by Starbucks. Birds came around a few times looking for food which wasn't too bad bcs they weren't aggressive. If you don't like birds, ask for an inside table. They have a gluten free menu on the back of their menu of what dishes they can make or are gluten free - and I noticed that the prices are a little more expensive than the normal rates. It's appreciated since it's easier to figure out what I can eat when I'm dining out instead of having to scan the whole menu looking for the tiny "GF" symblom. We ordered the lettuce wrap, pepper steak and Singapore noodles. The lettuce wrap was pretty good, a little too much watercress for my taste and not enough chicken. The lettuce was freshly washed, clean and crisp. The pepper steak had way too much corn starch so the sauce was like jelly but it was pretty tasty. The noodles was a huge disappointment, there was hardly any curry sauce/flavor and the noodles needed to be cooked for a minute or so longer. I ate all the chicken and shrimp and left the noodles. We had an iDcard and we received the appetizer for free, score! $1 parking within the Royal Hawaiian parking lot if you get your ticket validated at the front desk and leave within 3 hours I believe. We were seated on the 2nd level, and not only was the music too loud to have a conversation, but it was hot. The doors were open so perhaps that's why the AC was not on. But consider the patrons who are seated away from the open doors. It's uncomfortable to try to enjoy a meal when the temperature is hotter than your meal. Hostess staff were not so friendly or welcoming. Food was okay. Just okay. I expected more; at least the same quality of food that I've had there in the past. Lettuce wraps used to come with 3 sauces. Now they only serve one. New on the menu were sushi rolls, which were good. Dry rub ribs were overlooked and black! Not planning on returning anytime soon. I liked P.F. Chang's especially for their gluten free dedicated menu, as there are not many GF restaurants in Waikiki. I have ordered a meal online, but while trying to process, it said the payment was not successful. Being close to the restaurant, I decided to place the order in person. Just after I did so and paid, I was approached by a waitress asking, if I had ordered Mongolian Beef online. Long story short, my online payment was processed, so I ended up having 2 portions of the same food. I canceled the in person order and was assured the other payment will be returned to my credit card. Couple months later I stopped at the restaurant to talk to the manager and trying to explain the situation. Was assured again the payment will be returned. Again without any success. I was also offered a gift card instead, nothing has arrived to my mailbox. How sad that a great product fails due to poor customer service. read more

I've always walked by, I could tell this place was a type of fusion restaurant, having oriental (Chinese) attributes, but washed with American subtleties. Yet, a conversation came up about happy hour (3-6pm, half-price starters and drinks cost less!) and we decided to jump on it. Never hurts to try, right? Dynamite Shrimp- 3-stars- My friend is the dynamite shrimp specialist, but for me, the batter was a bit thick. The shrimp inside wasn't too exciting--not large, not small. It was well cushioned by the batter though. The sauce is a type of chili-mayonnaise that seems to be popular these days, without anything special. No extra pizazz to spice it up, even though it is a little spicy. Good, not great. Crab Wontons- 2 1/2-stars- My friend who ordered this wasn't a fan. She did what I rarely do, she smelled it--and it does smell like crab. Yet, the crab is so covered and mixed with cream cheese--yes, the center is cream cheese and crab with seasoning--you can't really enjoy the crab. This would be an excellent mouse used in a different dish, because the crispy wonton overwhelms the creamy center. The sauce isn't the best for this, I preferred the sweet-and-sour mustard sauce with the rolls. Crispy Green Beans- 4-stars- Thank you Yelp, I saw someone review it, and they were right. I should have gotten two trays of this. The portions say this is a relatively cheap ingredient, but the flavor is smooth, fresh and easy to handle. It is a casual enjoyment. Then you add in the chili-mayonnaise, like the one used on dynamite shrimp, and you've got a great little dish. I would never have ordered this from their description! Salt and Pepper Calamari- 3 1/2-stars- Utterly different than my usual meetings with calamari. It had the texture of calamari, but the shape and size of noodles. It was simple, yet delicious. It seems they do a good job with simple dishes, versus ones with too much flavor to choose from. Not a bad choice. Egg Rolls- 3-stars- Mind you, there are two egg rolls per order. These were pretty close to normal egg rolls, the kind I get in Chinatown. That said, the price was a little more than average, considering. Coconut Curry Vegetables- 2-stars- My friend waited, because she wanted to order this. She had a little, then the rest was put in a bag for take-out. We also tried some of it, and it wasn't too good. There was a sour flavor overwhelming the coconut curry. Although I am no expert, I make coconut curry and have had it at many different places. The flavor was a little odd, definitely not inviting nor comforting. Atmosphere- The setting is actually very cool, with outside seating available. The tables are large enough for five different starters and drinks. There are interesting wall murals, and the set-up of the restaurant made me think of Crouching Tiger, except there were no drunk martial artists, only tourists. The place is casual and dark enough for conversation, just not too bright. Service- Very friendly, and very helpful. The waiter who helped us had a trainee with him, so it was like he had four pairs of eyes watching out if we needed anything. Servers were good-looking, which is always a plus. Paying for the bill between credit cards was also made easy. Food and drinks both arrived quite quickly. Conclusion- This is a good place for some casual talk during happy hour. A nice place to unwind, as you aren't harassed or hassled to hurry up. The food comes quickly, and it's all decent. There isn't some extra love put into the dishes to make them unique or exciting, though. I don't know if I'd go and pay regular price for this, but it is a great deal from 3-6pm. We came around 3pm on a Wednesday afternoon and were greeted by a friendly hostess. We got seated a very large comfy corner booth. The waiter came over to introduce herself and highlighted the happy hour specials for us. This what we ordered: Spring Rolls - 2pcs $3.00 The waitress told us to wrap the butter lettuce leaves around it and dip it in the sauce to try it. Definitely loved this method of eating it, the spring roll was perfect, golden brown crunchy. Pork Dumplings - 6pcs $4.00 My second favorite item of the HH menu. Nice crispy sear with a plump juicy filling. Our waitress blended some sauces together to make a dipping sauce for the dumplings which I loved. Crab Wontons - 6pcs $5.00 Served with a spicy plum sauce, I believe the filling was a mixture of cream cheese and crab. Not my favorite dish but it wasn't bad Seared Ahi Tuna - $7.00 Served with a spicy mustard and fresh mixed greens. Although they do use sushi grade tuna which did taste very fresh and cooked perfectly, I didn't love the seasoning they used on the tuna - I think it was 5 spice? Chang's Spare Ribs - 6pcs $7.00 Definitely my favorite of the HH line up! The bbq sauce on the ribs was perfectly sweet sticky and spicy and the ribs were so tender and fall off the bones. Those ribs alone were worth the trip to happy hour! My Husband also got a pint of Oktoberfest beer for just $4.00 which he really enjoyed Overall a great lunch for a steal of a price with a good variety! Would not recommend...And I normally enjoy a PF Chang's...But not the one in Waikiki. Ever been to an establishment where your experience gets worse the longer you stay? Well, this was one of those for us. Oddly, the food was good and waitress was solid, but just about everything else was about the experience fell apart and ruined it for us... Asked for a table with a sports TV view, we were placed at a table where my face set 2' from a 70in TV...the Table wasn't cleaned (ie sticky)...the chairs were so worn you could feel the wood slats beneath the pleather (no kidding, had to play musical chairs to get comfortable)...Culminated with trying to sweeten my after dinner coffee, but the sweetener packages were moisture damaged...Ugh! Could go on, but will stop there. BL: Management is lacking...Do yourself a favor and Enjoy another restaurant down the street read more

We had Malik as our server tonight and he was awesome with his suggestions. He definitely was attentive to his customers. We were seated by a sweet hostess immediately. Drink order, water, or acknowledgment that we were seated took roughly 8 minutes. Dan Dan noodles presentation was not followed through, server had to apologize. Food delivered swiftly. Food wasn't that great. My plate was cold..& hubby's salmon was very dry. Only thing I really enjoyed was the Maui Mule drink. Our server was not attentive & had a dry personality. The server who brought out our food was a lot more friendlier. Would not go back again. read more

Three of us dropped in for lunch and had a great meal. We started with lettuce wraps, then had small entrees. I had the garlic noodles which was garnished with cucumber slivers. The cucumber was welcome because the noodles were cooked with red pepper flakes. The noodles were thinner than I am accustomed to, but they worked. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality Chinese food at PF Chang's. The sweet and sour chicken was at a perfect balance. Not too sweet or sour like some other places. The Mongolian beef and kimchee fried rice were also noteworthy. The beef was tender and sweet. Probably the tastiest Mongolian beef I've eaten in quite some time. The kimchee fried rice came topped with an egg drizzled in an exquisite sweet&spicy gochujang sauce that served like a fine icing on a cake. Aside from the fantastic food is great service. My waitress kyung was attentive, friendly, and paid great attention to detail. I would recommend P.F. Chang's to anyone just looking for a casual dinner before taking a stroll down kalakaua. Ate here on a recommendation , for American style Chinese food. It was very good. My husband and I loved the Fried rice and ate the whole plate. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken and my husband ordered the steamed salmon. It was very good and finished everything. We used the 20% off that is/was offered on yelp when we checked-in, and saved 11$ yay! Darren was our server very nice and helpful and knowledgeable about food and gave good recommendations. This Chang's is always a great place to eat and enjoy yourself! The staff and management are very nice and friendly, and always make you feel welcomed. The food and drinks are very good. Very nice atmosphere and centrally located in Waikiki - walking distance from most hotels. I recommend everyone come here at least once during their stay.
