What is going on at PF Chang's? It is going steadily downhill in the last 4-5 years. This particular franchise is, frankly, poorly run. The hostess hides in the corner near the kitchen, people waiting for takeout or tables crowd the entrance and the waitress explains, after we give our order, that it may take a while because the kitchen is slow. It is 8pm on a Sunday night, people. What's the deal? Food: the Kung pao shrimp is still the best in town because the shrimp are lightly breaded and crispy fried and there is the perfect amount of sauce, peanuts, chilis and celery. The edamame was mushy and not salted enough and bizarrely, the charred Brussels sprouts were prohibitively salty and almost inedible charred. Our waitress alternated between overly-attentive and absent. She managed to talk us into the fried banana things for dessert and I have to admit I love coconut ice cream but I hate being "upsold". Anyway, let's admit it, when we crave PF Chang's, nothing else will do. I just wish they would whip the operation side into shape and get this restaurant running the way it should. read more

I love pf changs. I never had it until It hit the charleston area. I do feel that he food is over priced, but overall great. They have changed the menu since the last Time I have been there. It's PF Changs. They've been around long enough to know what to expect from the moment you walk in. I was in to the Mt. P location this evening. I have to admit that PF Changs is not one of my favorite places, nor would it ever be my first choice for dinner, but this location in front of the Town Center shopping center is pretty nice. Myself, the hubs, and little one arrived about 6pm. We were cheerfully greeted at the front door, promptly seated, and given our menus. The waiter was very nice, super attentive, and fast with drinks, dinners, and refills for our glasses. This is the service I expect at PF Changs:fast, courteous, and casual. We ordered a "kids lomien", hot and sour soup, steamed edamame, and kung pao shrimp with brown rice. While I found the hot and sour soup to be all sour (it was strongly vinegar flavored), and no hot, I did enjoy it after stirring in a couple of spoonfuls of chili sauce. Our order of edamame was a very generous portion of perfectly steamed soy beans that were nicely salted and just al denté. The kung pao shrimp were shockinly delicious. Someone back in the kitchen has a handle on lightly caramelizeing the shrimp without overcooking or burning them. My wee one's lomien was pretty terrible though. It was a teeny-tiny plate of sad, room temp, squishy noodles with not a vegetable to be had. All things considered, though, I would return to the Mt. Pleasant PF Changs, and I would definately order the soup, edamame, and kung pao shrimp again. So this dinner was a win in my personal opinion. Just remember it's PF Changs: don't expect a life-altering experience. Go expecting decently prepared food, wonderful serive, and reasonable prices. read more

7 year anniversary, day out of the house, no kids. Wife has been craving PF Chang's ever since we left the west coast. Walk in at 5pm in the afternoon. Stand at the counter while someone punches in an order? She tells us to have a seat as she is seating some other people. Another family walks in just as she gets back from seating the people in front of us, she makes eye contact with us and seats them instead of assisting us. Sorry Pf Chang, we don't have time to be treated disrespectfully after such a great day celebrating our anniversary together. We walked out, and we aren't coming back. This is such a nice restaurant for couples as well as groups. Personally, we love sitting at the bar here. Shar has been our bartender our last two visits, and she is awesome, super sweet, extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and on point with service. All of the food here is executed perfectly making each experience exactly what we are looking for. We live fairly close to here, so although it is rare that we are in town, we will definitely eat back for more. read more

It's just OK. Food is definitely not top of the line but still good if you want to have some decent Chinese food. It did take quite a while to come out but it was a Friday night. Wasn't impressed with the wanton soup that was a mix of tasteless water chestnuts, slimy mushrooms and 2 leafs of spinach to garnish the wantons that were cold in the middle. I also got the Orange Chicken with white rice, for some reason there were these oranges mixed in the chicken that looked and tasted like the ones you get in the little plastic cups. It's hard to rate our experience because there was some really good things and not so good. We were able to get reservations, but through Open Table. Their online reservation system was down. We got there a bit early, but we're seated by our reservation time so that was great. And now the not so great started. We didn't get served for an hour. We ordered relatively fast. Even though we had reservations, there were plenty of open tables. Our waiter was very nice. I almost wonder if they lost our ticket. Everyone's food was great except for the ginger chicken and broccoli. It has zero ginger flavor. But, we were so hungry that it didn't matter. Here's the thing. It's really difficult to sit and wait for one hour when people that work for the restaurant sit at the table behind us and get served food very quickly. I have no problem with quick service. Do not waste your time or money at this location. We normally love P.F. Chang's but this location is the slowest I've ever been to. We've given them 3 chances and last night we waited almost an entire hour for our food because they chose to fill all the online/to go orders before those that are in the restaurant. We came on a Tuesday night and were seated promptly. Our server was very helpful, attentive and polite. The decor of the restaurant was nice and appeared clean. I was satisfied with the overall experience but I think the meal was overpriced for basic Chinese food. I ordered honey chicken and upgraded my side of rice to vegetable fried rice (an up charge of 5.50). My boyfriend ordered the spicy chicken. I am not one to yelp...I've actually never yelped. My coworker and I walked in after a day of work to grab some delicious lettuce wraps, and what we expected to be a tasty meal. The staff / hostess were lovely, and the atmosphere matched their warm welcome. Unfortunately, immediately after sitting down, our noses were filled with the smell of sewage. There is a major plumbing issue here - we are actually in the industry of managing large properties and buildings, and I am concerned of anyone who has eaten here as they most likely will have E. coli. I have never been to this place before but I have heard it was supposed to have great food . My family and I went in and were seated right away . That's about as good as it gets . The service was incredibly slow , the food didn't come at the same time and one of our parties meals wasn't even brought out . We addressed this issue and 20 min later after everyone was done eating they brought her meal out . The server never asked to refill our drinks and was not super available . I've never had a bad meal or experience at PF changs. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. I ordered the wonton soup and kung pao shrimp. The wonton soup is flavorful, however the wontons themselves leave something to be desired. The shrimp was great and offer a large enough portion. The only downside is they don't really give you enough rice. I've also had the Mongolian beef which is also fantastic. I'll definitely be returning, it's just unfortunate that the closest one is 30 minutes away. read more
