We have ordered takeout here many times but this was my first time dining in. Nice atmosphere for a family dinner, friends dinner or date night. Good sized bar. Many eat in options are not featured on the take out menu. Kids menu for dine in: my picky eater son got the chicken tempura and ate ALL OF IT which makes me want to come here every night. My husband and I both started with the ginger dressing side salad which was the very basic Japanese ginger salad that we were both happy with. My husband had the dumplings with the steak hibachi and I had the tofu vegetable hibachi which we were all happy with. Note: not cooked in front of you hibachi, cooked in the kitchen We got plum wine with cold sake. Sweet and hit the spot. We will definitely be back. I wouldn't tell anyone to travel here from a distance but if you're local, definitely a good spot

The sushi is excellent and consistent each time I order. This is my local go to spot for sushi and you can go wrong with the double tuna roll if you enjoy tuna.

    Pork ramen.

My ramen is empty. Which is how good ramen should be seen, finished. The pork ramen at Fuji is almost a great bowl of ramen. Salty white broth with a sweet finish and hit of crab offering an homage to the local faire. The pork and egg are where it loses sight of the perfect note. The pork unfortunately was fried crispy to the point where it had no flavor. Thankfully the broth rescues it and helps overcome the pork shortcoming. The eggs were overcooked but being "soy eggs" they have that lovely Carmel color and flavor to them but lack the creamy inside and kills the joy of a great soy egg. If not for the broth saving the whole dish this would be a different message. On a winning note loyal follower know that I am always in search of restaurants that cater to my wife and her intolerance of gluten. So finding a Japanese restaurant that offer gluten friendly fare is the best thing since Soy Eggs in ramen. Cause it means I can eat here more often. She ordered and really enjoyed the hibachi soy free (hint it's where they hide the gluten) and for that alone we will come back and attempt the ramen again. Fuji make a note of it on your website or in your menu. Yes dear patrons of gluten free living we support you. We would have been voting Fuji like we lived in Chicago early and often. So wear you options like a proud mama koala bear and let us all know. Please I need more Ramen in my diet. And fix the eggs and pork.

I've already reviewed this place, but I have to review again, because I ate sushi instead of hibachi here. Little guilty of ordering the Sushi Appetizer again: White Fish Jalapeno. It was as tasty as I remembered the first time I ate it. Pork Belly Bun: The bun was very soft and the pork belly was seasoned well and melted in my mouth. The pickled vegetables went really well with the pork belly. Christmas Roll and Fantastic Seaweed Roll: Both were not spicy even though the Christmas Roll had spicy tuna with the tempura shrimp. Both were great rolls. There was not a lot of rice on the sushi, which is a good thing, because I always love having more filling. I picked the Fantastic Seaweed Roll because there's salmon in it, and the salmon was pretty fresh. There's always parking available outside the restaurant because there is a big lot shared with other restaurants and shops. Overall 8.8 out of 10.

The Hungry Detective checked out this spot for sushi and enjoyed the sashimi...Kayden the bartender was on point and picked out a nice bottle of Saki to enjoy with the meal!!!

I love this location. Parking isn't an issue. Staff is mostly friendly but there is huge turnover. Foods consistently good. Great happy hour place but I do wish the list was bigger or rotated a few options here and there. Specialty drinks are great. A bit pricey but the best edamame and sushi around.

An outstanding job of keeping everyone safe. There is seating outside or distanced eating indoors. Everyone is masked and wiping/spraying things down. Today it was time for "The Sweet Boat." We had half nigiri and half sashimi - a total of 25 pieces, with one serving of salmon roll. As expected, it was exquisitely presented on a wooden boat. This is some of the best sashimi and nigiri in town. It's so fresh and delicious. This should definitely be your go-to place for some decent sushi, sashimi and nigiri!

What another fantastic dinner from Fuji! I've been ordering to go from them for years but tonight we opted to order in! Everything was delicious and so fresh. We ordered the 2 August specials and Gyoza and Bomb Shrimp as appetizers! We will definitely dine inside on a more regular basis!

I was a little worried when the website said call ahead seating was on hold thinking they would be slammed, but forged onward!' It was Sunday afternoon. I have read about nightmare parking but did not experience that at all. Zoomed right in. Yes, it was eleven bucks. I don't mind paying and refuse to get myself worked up over it. Ask for an outside table and no sooner did we sit down, the dolphins showed up!!! I consider myself an expert on dolphin spotting and had to show the table of 5 college age young ladies where they were located. They loved them as well. Who knew they would be so active in the middle of a busy waterway? As a former boat owner, I love watching those huge honkin' boats parallel park in between the baby ones. I do not have that skill , but it's entertaining to watch. Tyler was our server and was nice and attentive. Drinks were cold and quite good. I ordered a house Chardonnay and it was Cambria. Not crazy expensive either! Had shrimp tacos and steamed shrimp. So many steamed ones that I had a full meal the next day. I look forward to trying many more dishes. What I enjoyed the most was being part of a fun atmosphere in a fun place. Not a sad person in the place. That's always my attitude near any body of water. All the employees were engaging and happy to be there.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the service throughout our lunch was attentive and welcoming. Everyone at our table loved their meals -- burgers, fries, and sandwiches all around with rave reviews. Instead of cake, our group brought blueberry pies and vanilla ice cream, and the staff graciously took everything to the kitchen, sliced and plated the pie, added generous scoops of ice cream, and even placed birthday candles on each slice. Such a thoughtful touch that made the celebration extra special. The atmosphere along the water made it even better. Watching kayaks, paddle boards, and boats pass along Shem Creek while enjoying lunch was the perfect backdrop for a celebration. This has definitely become a new favorite spot for our group! I appreciated how they filled their spicy tuna rolls with chunky pieces of fish instead of the usual ground tuna used in other sushi restaurants. Their offerings and methods of preparation, paired with their higher price point, suggests they are a higher end establishment. However, the atmosphere was undoubtedly on the casual side, and their service, although friendly and knowledgeable, exuded a lack of experience and the same attention to detail that they put into their food. This was especially apparent after coming from eating at other restaurants in a similar price bracket, where you can sense the waitstaff had a lot of pride and passion for their craft, and it didn't feel like it was just a job for them. In contrast, our experience at Shiki felt far more transactional, and lacked that "customer obsession" and genuine warmth. That said, it's difficult to judge a restaurant's culture just from a single night, and maybe other customers had a different experience from us. Ultimately, if good sushi is your priority and you are willing to splurge a bit, Shiki meets and even exceeds that bar.

They exist, but some of the best are so unassuming you can walk right past them. Shiki is exactly that kind of place--a small, warm, inviting restaurant tucked into a strip mall that feels like a neighborhood secret. Loc, our waiter, greeted us as soon as we sat down with water, a friendly welcome, and a helpful walk-through of the menu. We started with wine and sake--always a promising beginning. The first course was seaweed salad with baby octopus, and I could have happily sipped that dressing like a cocktail. Light, bright, perfectly balanced, with tender octopus that added just the right bite. From there we decided to sample our way through the menu and ordered a lineup of rolls: Spicy Yellowtail, Spicy Shiromi, Rainbow, Spider, Lemon Salmon, and Eel. Each one seemed better than the last. The Spicy Shiromi was the clear standout--absolutely spectacular. What really sets Shiki apart is that every roll has its own distinct flavor instead of the one-note sameness you find at so many sushi spots. You can tell real care goes into the preparation. If you're searching for fresh, thoughtful, genuinely delicious sushi, don't overlook this little gem. Shiki is the real deal.

On his suggestion, I ordered the Steak Chimichurri Taco and The Hangover. Each was distinctive enough to deserve its own mention. The steak in the Steak Chimichurri Taco was exceptionally tender and full of flavor. What impressed me most was how thoughtfully the toppings complemented the beef rather than competing with it. The goat cheese was just assertive enough to stand out without overpowering the other ingredients, creating a layered, well-balanced bite that kept me coming back for another. The Hangover was equally memorable--and completely unexpected. Had I actually read the menu instead of putting my trust in Michael, I probably wouldn't have been quite as surprised. Fortunately, I did, because his recommendation was spot on. Once again, I was treated to a wonderful balance of flavors and textures. And there's something undeniably satisfying about seeing a perfectly cooked sunny-side-up egg crowning a taco. FOOD - 10:10 Michael struck exactly the right balance between being attentive and giving me space to enjoy my meal. He knew the menu well, answered my questions confidently, and his recommendations couldn't have been better. SERVICE - 10:10 The atmosphere was every bit as enjoyable as the food. The music was at the perfect volume, the playlist fit the space well, and the lighting was bright enough to feel welcoming without being harsh. Very limited seating across the room but we luckily we snagged a reservation. Our server was very friendly and went over some specials with us before taking our drink orders and inquired about allergies. We went family style and started with the crispy tuna rice, marinated cucumbers, dumplings and pork bao. We added on a few rolls and ended with the sesame lamb noodles and duck fried rice. The dumplings were unique with this crispy shell on top and had a creamier sauce. We did have to ask for soy sauce which is usually something we expect to get right away after ordering sushi. He gave us one dish of soy instead of all of our own which I thought was weird so we asked for more. I enjoyed the textures of the dumplings but I felt the sauce lacked a bit in flavor to complement the dumplings. Crispy rice looked appealing but we were all disappointed with the lack of flavor, especially in the tuna mixture alright the textures were on point. The sushi rolls were made well and you get about 5 bigger pieces. The best thing we had were the cucumbers! Simple and delicious, packed with flavor. The sesame lamb noodles were also prepared well, and had nice flavors overall that were unique. We spent about $200 per couple which I felt was quite steep for the amount of food we got, but overall I would say we enjoyed ourselves but a few things just fell short on flavors.
