My wife bought some discount gift cards from Costco for P.F. Chang's. $100 cards for $80 dollars. P. F. Chang's is an upscale restaurant and very beautiful. The menu is "Asian Style" and has classic foods like Broccoli Beef, fried rice etc...and some novel dishes. Reading about the place, they use wok style cooking with fresh ingredients. The food is made from scratch daily. We went in Veterans Day after the kids helped with the Honor Flight and Reno international Airport. Kids are in Civil Air Patrol and love helping veterans. We ordered pot stickers for appetizers and the Sangria. The Sangria was made with fresh citrus fruit, vodka and merlot. It was Delicious! It was the best part of the night. The pot-stickers were just average. For dinner, we went with my wife's favorite staple: Broccoli Beef, Generals chicken (named Chang's chicken) and house fried rice. The entrees are served family style with steamed brown and white rice. We tried some new dishes like Shrimp in Lobster sauce (best dish of the night) Buddha's Feast and some of the side veggie dishes (spicy asparagus, Sichuan green beans). We were offered a choice for the Buddha's Feast- Steamed or stir-fried. I ordered stir-fried, it arrived steamed. I let the server know and she actually said 'I'll have them throw it in the wok' and sure enough, it was back in like two minutes. It was steamed veggies tossed with stir-fry sauce. Soft almost mushy veggies, none of the fresh, wok style crunch that we were expecting. The flavor was good, even if over cooked. The spicy asparagus was extremely spicy and I can take the heat (lived in Thailand for 10 years), but couldn't taste much over the burning tongue. The green beans were spot on. One thing that we noticed, and the kids complained about, was the lack of meat/protein in the dishes. The house fried rice was $14 and if you look at the picture, you are hard pressed to see 4 pieces of meat. I dug through the rice searching for the seafood, beef, chicken, pork and was very disappointed. I included pictures of each dish and for $15 a dish, you would expect a-bit more meat. Overall the meal was average in taste. The place is beautiful and kids were hungry an hour later as they had mostly starch and veggies for an expensive ($110) dinner. Best take out Chinesse ever. We had there Citrus Chicken and Broccoli Beef and Pork Dumpling's. Which came in clear containers which looked, so appealing. It not only all good yummy it was simply delicious. The Beef Broccoli was prepared to perfection. From the texture of the rice, to the steamed broccoli being still crisp. The beef wasn't overcooked, and the quality was very apparent. The sauce just enhanced its taste without overpowering it. The pot stickers were just fabulous, some of the very best pot stickers I've ever had. The Citrus Chicken exceeded Mt expectations. Another great dish. Firecracker shrimp looked as if chopped cabbage was confetti on it in cubes, shrimp was overly dressed. The Mongolian beef had more grease than the actual sauce... P.F Chang's has some well seasoned food and offer a variety of dishes that everyone will be happy with! I love getting their spicy tuna roll because it tastes so fresh and good! I always get their crab wontons as well because they are super tasty!! This was my first time getting the Singapore Street Noodles and they weren't bad. It had a stronger curry flavor than I was anticipating, but it wasn't horrible. Given you are someone who loves curry, I would recommend this dish for you! Overall, the food was really good and came out quickly. The only reason they are receiving 4 stars out of 5 is due to the service. While we did come close to closing, our waitress was MIA for majority of our dining experience and wasn't good at checking in with our table to see if we needed more water or napkins. read more

Brought my 93 yr old mother out for her birthday dinner. Some grub hub/Uber eats guy parked in the middle of the drop off/pick up lane. It takes a minute to get the ol' gal moving so I figured the owner of the car was due back shortly. By the time I got mom squared away another car was behind us. As the pick up car was not hugged up against the curb, both myself and the folks behind me had to back up and back out. It's now been about 10-12 min, well past just grabbing an order. I asked the hostess desk if they knew who's car that was. One hostess said no. Had to go back to my car to grab moms purse. When I came in, a young man was gabbing with the ladies. I talked to the driver about how he made it really hard to maneuver my old mom The reaction of the hostess was to intrude on our conversation and rally behind a driver that took up all of the drop off lane. I asked her not to intrude on my conversation with the driver. She announced she was getting the manager. She should have quietly gotten the manager if she thought there was a problem, instead, she kept interrupting. When she marched off to get the manager, I waited for him. Oddly, the manager tried to tell me that driver was a customer and had the wiggle room to park how he liked. I pointed out his customer was the party that ordered the food, not the driver. It was very awkward listening to the manager defend the deliberate clog-up in his drop off lane, effecting 2 guests. Fairly stressful time at his restaurant making sure my 93 yr old mom was comfortable and squared away. Ironically, she threw up the ribs she ordered, at the table. But what do you expect from a chain restaurant? Won't be going back. This was not a 'guest comes first' experience. It was a "food delivery guy" comes first experience. How do you make bad Chinese food in 2023? Simple, you burn your Mongolian beef, make sure it's nicely chard and hard, you fry your sesame seed chicken with the oldest available oil. Visited for friend's birthday. Due to COVID 19 restaurant was 25% with reservations required. The reservation was quite easy to make on the website earlier in the day. We arrived about 10 minutes early and were seated within a couple minutes. We were early around 4 o'clock and discovered there's no happy hour on Saturday which was OK. We enjoyed the appetizer sampler. There was a ton of food and it was very good. 4 crab wontons, 4 dumplings, 2 spring rolls and some edamame. Two different sauces were also provided. For dinner we tried the honey shrimp and were provided white rice and brown rice because my friend mentioned she liked both. We had a glass of house cab which was a Casey I believe. The server was attentive even though she had several tables due to the reduced capacity. I actually only saw two servers in the restaurant. But we never felt neglected or ignored. She had a very enjoyable birthday and we will of course go again soon. read more

The menu continues to shrink with offerings. Last year they dropped the Wok Char Beef and replaced it with Korean Bulgari Steak. Not good or worth the price $27 ? I also noticed that their version of the surf and turf is no longer on the menu. Today I was told no more Chang's Chicken Noodle soup so I ordered the Chicken Lettuce Wraps. If they eliminate that item, they will lose me as a customer forever. PF Chang's continues to eliminate my favorite items that I have enjoyed for many years . The food is good but DON'T order online. The first time we ordered online the food was never made. It was 8pm at night by the time my husband got there to pick it up (around the time I wanted it ready) and they just never made it. The manager made it better and brought the food to our home but we didn't get to eat until almost 10pm. I just ordered again online ordering the family meal and a the lettuce wraps were missing. I called to let them know and the girl wanted me to talk to the manager again but this time I declined. We live 30 minutes away. I am disappointed for a restaurant that continues to have crappy services for pick up. We will never order from them again. read more

Amazing! My family went in on a Sunday night for my sisters birthday. There was 18 of us. Brittany and Alyssa were our servers extraordinaire!!! Every ones food was served hot in a timely fashion and of course delicious. I had to wait about 10 minuets after everyone else was served for my meal but this did not detour my experience. Here is where it gets amazing!!! We brought in a cake to do the whole birthday thing. We realize that this may be frowned upon because they do have desserts to purchase, however, Brittany and Alyssa not only stored it in the back for us but cut and served it to us. We were planning on doing it ourselves. BRAVO!! One last HOORAH we had probably ten different checks and they were gracious about it and so on it, that there was not one mistake on any check!!! Note: the place is a bit pricey!! 5 friends of us and I went here for lunch, and we were promptly greeted by our server. Within no time we were seated at our tables and given our drinks. The ambience was exquisite and was reasonably crowded during lunch. We ordered the lettuce wraps: chicken for starters: a must try (we asked for extra spicy)!! We ordered chicken fried rice , chicken Kung pao which was extremely tasty. I absolutely loved all their dishes. The waiter kept refilling our water and coke as well, without us needing to ask. (despite the rush) Overall the food was great and the service especially good which made it a much better experience!! I would love to go back soon read more

I am not a fan of leaving bad, scathing reviews. I don't feel good about it. I try not to do it. That being said, this is a time where I think that I have to. Last night, later in the evening, we ordered PF Chang's via Grubhub. This is NOT a review of Grubhub. On the contrary, the Grubhub driver was great, courteous, and on time. So thank you to the driver. Grubhub customer service tried to help us out. So thanks for that. The Reno PF Chang's, however, sent us possibly the WORST take out or delivery food we have ever, ever had. The food was totally inedible. The fried rice was so dried out it clicked when we put it into a ceramic bowl, and the chicken in it tasted like it was a day old. The Mongolian beef was the texture of beef jerky and had absolutely no sauce on it at all. NONE. The green onions were even dry! The egg drop soup was ice cold and tasted as of it had been sitting on a stove for way too long. Bad food can happen to any restaurant at any time. Even the best, even our favorites. I get it. Especially later at night (this was around 8:30-9 pm). What I cannot forgive is the horrendous customer service that followed. When Grubhub customer service contacted the PF Chang's manager, the manager pretty much said the food was fine, there was nothing wrong with it, it was prepared like it always is, tough luck. A second Grubhub customer service agent tried to contact them a second time because the first reaction was just not acceptable. The PFC manager doubled down on his or her assertion that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the food. We were totally aghast. The fact that the manager of the place considered this good, acceptable food is just stunning. That the manager did not care how unsatisfied we were is totally disappointing. The very, very little I ate before throwing all of it in the trash actually made me sick. $75 for three items that all went into the garbage. We have been long time, loyal PF Chang's customers, but we will never, ever eat at or from the Reno location again. Any place that cares so very little about their customers' satisfaction isn't getting another penny from us. read more

Checked into GSR 7 pm... door dash texted me to meet them in the GSR parking lot to "pick up my food before it gets cold"... but that's a problem for another day.. and of course I've recently had multiple doordash delivered TO THE ROOM and it's always the same 30% tip so that's not a factor... but I do hope they allow tips AFTER service in the future! Needless to say.. hotel has mini fridge.. no microwave... food cold... and it came exactly as ordered.. large soup and combo pad Thai... but NO napkin , NO soy sauce( I can forgive). NO spoon for soup, No chopsticks or fork to eat pad Thai... called to reorder and of course they are closed ( before 9pm it seems could not take a door dash reorder). Yes.. could not eat... as they tell u when the food will arrive I took my insulin as usual 20 min before food arrives... over an hour later her email saying my reorder was cancelled.. had to dash myself to get some food before I pass out. 1 stars for door dash... 1 star for PF Chang's... door dash mistakes with order run 30%.... they don't look in the bag to even check if theirs a fork... with the quality controls at PFChangs that's a "do not order" take out here. Called PFChangs to speak to manager.. offered a gift card... nice but pointless ... I needed food now and he said closed at 9.... though I ordered before 8 .... dine in. And you don't need to know where it's delivered to include.... So maybe throw a fork and spoon in like everyone else who sells soup? And of course there was a box on PF Chang's to request fortune cookies snd soy sauce at no cost... which I checked and didn't receive it seemed like PF CH was to busy to check the bag... now I realize they don't need to check the bag since they don't include anything except by request... and u can't request utensils ... safe answer . Yes... I finally got to eat after 2 hours... Johnny rockets... had utensils / salt/pepper/ salad dressing/ napkins /ketchup... Maybe it's things they didn't teach in partner school . What can u do to add value for my customers who are depending on my service? I eat here every once in a while when I'm working swing shift, and the food is spectacular. I got the sesame chicken dish to-go tonight, and even though there was a slight mixup with someone having the same name as me (which I found very intriguing) they made up for it! The workers here are all super nice, respectful, and kind. And my meal was very delicious! Generally, I prefer my Asian food at Mom & Pop, non-chain restaurants, but one of my friends is a long-time fan of PF Chang's and he talked me into coming here for lunch. While it had been several years since I lasted visited one of the links in this chain, I've enjoyed the food here before and was cautiously optimistic. On the menu, PF Chang boasts that its food is prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients - basically a Farm to Wok concept. Reading this, my expectations went up slightly; here's what the three of us shared for lunch: Surf & Turf - Crisp shrimp and wild-caught lobster, cubed filet mignon, asparagus, shiitakes, Yukon gold potatoes, savory butter glaze. A nice balance of beef and seafood, this dish was very tasty. Oolong Chilean Sea Bass - Wild-caught tea-marinated filet, ginger-soy sauce, wok'd spinach. The taste of this dish was outstanding - moist, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Two complaints: The portion size was decidedly too small, and the price was double the size of the dish ;-) Side of Long Life Noodles - Garlic egg noodles, roasted chili flakes, green onion. This dish is nicely executed and so tasty that it vanished from our table almost instantly ;-) Pepper Steak - Pepper-garlic sauce, flank steak, bell pepper, onion. This entrée has a substantial portion size. It's tasty, with a spice level somewhere between mild and medium. Chicken Pad Thai - Thai Spices, tofu, rice noodle, green onions and crushed peanuts. This dish tasted decidedly different from Pad Thais I've had in Thai restaurants. The noodles were hard and the sauce was much too vinegary. Not a well executed version rendition of Pad Thai. In Summary: The service was friendly and on-point, all but one of the dishes tasted great, but the prices were on the high side - especially considering the portion sizes. Our experience for my husbands surprise birthday dinner was amazing!!! The staff were so kind and accommodating from beginning to end. They gave us the private dining room for our group, aloud us to bring in a cake and balloons well before our reservation time and our server was the greatest! She was fun, attentive, and even took group pictures of us to take home afterwards. The food of course was fabulous!!! If you're looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion, PF Changs is definately it. We will definately be back to celebrate more family occasions. Thank you for everything!!! We made reservations in advance but still had to wait 15-20 minutes to be seated. The table where we sat was not dry and had water spots. I pointed it out and the staff immediately gave us another table. There were many tables available so I am not sure why we were made to wait in the first place. Could be some covid rule. Their menu has hardly anything for vegan and vegetarians. I was able to find maybe 3-4 dishes for vegetarian. When we were ready to order I told my server I am vegetarian and specifically mentioned not to have any meat, sea food or egg in my order of Pad thai. They still messed up and added fried egg to my pad thai. Luckily I noticed it right away and asked them to replace. Expect such a big and expensive restaurant to have better customer service. Coming to food, I am not going into the details but their food is just average and overpriced at best. Its not bad but I had much better thai food at almost every other thai restaurant in Reno. They even messed up in the check and charged us for 2 pad Thai. We only realized it after we had paid. They did say they refunded us and gave us another bill but again this is not acceptable for a restaurant like PF chang. Their prices are 50% more expensive than a regular restaurant, not because food is better but for the customer service and ambience and customer service turned out to be really bad with average food. read more

We said OK and sat down to wait. 30 minutes later, still waiting, which was ok, but other people come in and they offered patio seating. They never even mentioned patio seating to us! We said we would take patio seating and wondered why it was never offered to us. Then, we order drinks. Don't order the Japanese Old Fashioned! Gross! My husband preserved a Woodfords Manhattan on the rocks. He got it up. And very questionable that it was even Woodfords. Tasted like cheap whiskey! Then we order North Korean dry rub ribs. Didn't get those... got the ones with sauce. Never did they pour more water until we were done and ready to leave. Just a bad experience all the way around. Bummer too, it's usually not that bad. Came on a Thursday night during their Customer appreciation week and it was packed. You could tell the wait staff was understaffed. We were seated by the hostess and waited 10 minutes at our table with no one acknowledging us. We were very annoyed at this point so my husband walked to the hostess to let her know. In less than 5 minutes the manager - Barry came out and apologized for the wait, indicated he would take our order and offered us a free appetizer for the inconvenience. We ordered, and our food came shortly after. We had the chicken lettuce wraps, egg drop soup, honey chicken and Mongolian beef. The mongolian beef was the stand-out dish, with the rest of it just being ok. So why the 4 stars? The 4 stars is mainly for the service by the manager. Life during the pandemic means social distancing, mask-wearing servers, and no bar, which made our visit a little sad to see the lack of the usual loud, busy place on a Friday night. The subdued vibe was fine, though, and we had a great time with good drinks (their Mai Tai was excellent and...potent), a perfect Chilean Sea Bass entree, and a server who went out of her way to make us feel like it was a pre-pandemic time. Well it had been years since I have visited PF Chang's. I will admit I've become a snob when it comes to good eats and these chain restaurants are honestly a contributor to obesity. I felt the same about Olive Garden a couple weeks back. Portions are huge and almost everything is fried! So much heavy food. It tastes good, and it's well worth our money which makes me give it stars for family. I do think these chains make family dinners feasible for most families and you're likely to have leftovers. I also think it was clean with a good atmosphere. It wasn't well staffed and we came around 130 on a Saturday. They had just one girl serving and she was having to get people started and finishing them up and so therefore service was slow. Not her fault. She had a lot of people to serve on her own. The bus boy (I hate saying that, is there a new name that's more respectful? ) was absolutely wonderful and kind. I'll likely avoid chains cause the food is just too heavy for healthy eaters.
