Went to The new St Charles location today. We have enjoyed the Chesterfield and Galleria locations previously but were excited about having one so close to home. Our experience was no where near what we have had at other locations. There were lots of issues such as an attitude when I asked to have my tea with lots of ice. When I got it there was barely any. She did offer an extra glass of ice but when I tried to share with her about how to deal with hot tea she copped an attitude. I specifically asked if what I wanted was bartered or coated in anything. She told me no. When the dish came it was. I ordered shrimp, I got chicken. The a/c system was dripping water on us. Oh, the other couple with us ordered an appetizer. I was charged for half. Never ate any or ordered it. The manager came by and when I shared with him about the Miriam of problems he offered to take off my meal. I said no but he said, "no, I need to make this right." But guess what, he didn't take it off. This was a very disappointing experience. Yes they just opened but this should not be the way things are and it should not be excused. As we entered I noticed right away the sticky floors. The hostess seats us and immediately i could tell the table has not been cleaned - I ask the server if he can wipe it down for us. To my surprise he comes back with "wet naps" vs a towel / rag. He wipes it down but doesn't really do the job. We sit down and ask for menus...i get that during covid, the restaurants like us to use our phone, which is what the server told us to do, however if that is the case, please make sure the code works when you take a picture. We came to PF Changs for a belated Mother's Day celebration. I was so looking forward to a great meal and my favorite cocktail. All would have been fine if it wasn't 40 degrees in the dining room. It was painful to sit there on a gorgeous day and absolutely freeze while waiting for our food. What made it even more frustrating was the fact that the air was blowing right down on top of us. Our food was cold within minutes of being delivered. What a disappointment. My husband asked if they could turn the temp up a bit but was ignored. Clearly we were not the only ones feeling the chill. We came last night for dinner. There was a mix up in the kitchen with our apps and it took very long.. when they came out the manager comped them and explained what happened. Our bartender Hannah was super nice and kept apologizing. Wasn't her fault but she wanted to do anything to make us happy. So finally our food comes and all is well except I don't like the dressing for my salad and the only other option is Cesar and it's not vegetarian friendly. Also not her fault. We ended up tossing most of our meal in the trash. The edamame, was decent. I'm happy they had their steaming game on. $40 down the drain and we ended up making tacos at home. So annoying. Walked in at 5 PM on Monday/Labor Day waiting for a host to seat us, none came, so we seated ourselves. Sat at the table waiting for a server to come by to take a drink order for 10 min. The obviously overworked server covered in sweat stopped by the table to tell us he didn't expect it to be so busy however there were 20 people in the whole restaurant. Came back four minutes later and took our drink order. From that point the speed was decent, the bottle beer was cold the pace of service was decent. When the Appetizers arrived it tasted like really fancy frozen Asian food you would get at the grocery store, pop in the microwave and cover with the sauce packet provided in the box it came with. Not that impressive. However it was edible. I ordered the pepper steak as my entrée, it arrived in decent time the sauce was gelatinous, rather thick for the type of dish we ordered. Again it tasted like frozen Asian food from the grocery store, that you microwaved. The vegetables however we're fresh and crunchy. We had two drinks, an appetizer and two entrées. With that we spent $90, which is about $45 too much given the quality of the food. I ordered a corona beer, and was charge six dollars for it which is a bit pricey for a bottle beer in Saint Charles however I guess that's what they have to charge as I'm not familiar with what the liquor laws and licensing cost. In the future if I have to come back I'll simply not order a drink. It was a disappointing visit, and if the price was cut in half I'd say it would be worth returning if you really had to have Asian food with no time to microwave it yourself. However, to charge that much for food with such an average experience and average quality, it's not worth returning. I walked to my car feeling like I just got ripped off. The Chesterfield location has a better ambience, and better service, and I go when my wife asks me to go however I don't care for this restaurant I would not recommend a visit if you really crave quality Asian food. read more
