I honestly don't like to post bad reviews but it's been ages since I've gone to PF Chang's. The service was great. My waiter was awesome. The wanton soup was flavorless. I added some soy and it was better but not good. The lettuce wraps which I was really looking forward to eating were horrible. I must of had a cup of water chestnuts in the mix and a teaspoon of tofu. Not a mushroom or onion... I did have a few green onions for garnish. I like water chestnuts but not to eat as a meal! Stopped by here to get some appetizers to tide us over until dinner time. This is the first time that I've encountered a restaurant that didn't hand out menus. They gave us a code to scan on our phones to look at the menu online. We are from out of town and were having trouble getting an adequate signal on our phones and couldn't get the menu to load....super annoying. If this is the course you're wanting to take....get better quality Wi-Fi and make sure your guests are able to log on get the site loaded before walking off. Very unhelpful and rude of the hostess. Luckily, we have a P.F. Chang's back home and already knew what we wanted. Our waiter was more helpful, but did clear away a plate with the potsticker sauce on it away before we'd finished with it. Also the table next to us was pretty loud, and didn't look like they had enough room for their entire party. One guy on the end of the half circle booth was just straddling the end of the seat and was half way sticking out into the aisle. The food was delicious, nonetheless. SHOCKED & DISGUSTED, are the only words I can think of to describe what I witnessed tonight while dining at this PF Chang's location with my family. Our server, food and service were good, and as expected for PF Chang's. Our server was busy, but polite and fairly attentive. While waiting for our food to arrive, two other tables adjacent to ours had finished eating and left. The busser and server began cleaning the tables together, but a sauce-filled ramekin fell to the floor, causing sauce to splash up and flung across the dining room floor, and onto the banquette, table, and walls of the second table they were going to clean. The busser proceeded to purposefully kick the now-empty ramekin under the table where it had fallen from, then proceeded back to the kitchen. Before his return, we watched a white kitchen rag fly across the finish room all the way from the kitchen, and land on the floor, splattering us and the surrounding area with whatever the rag had been saturated with. The busser then proceeded to mop the floor by stepping on the towel, and using his foot to wipe it around, essentially just spreading the mess across a greater area. Then, the unthinkable happened -- THE BUSSER PICKED UP THE SAME TOWEL, THEN USED IT TO CLEAN THE TABLE TOPS AND WALLS OF BOTH TABLES -- AFTER USING THIS TOWEL TO WIPE THE FLOOR WITH HIS SHOE!!!! DISGUSTING... I guess we should have been happy that they neglected to clean the banquettes; essentially trading out crumbs for the nastiness of that rag. After witnessing this event, I proceeded to the hostess stand and explained it to the manager. She thanked me for notifying her, then disappeared into the kitchen. I was thinking she had sent the busser home for the night without tips, leaving me to wonder what had caused him to make such an error in judgement? Poor training, laziness -- what exactly caused him to brazenly throw a wet towel across a full dining room, then proceed with his version of table turning. It soon became evident where this busser's behavior had originated. Apparently, the manager had relegated him to the kitchen -- where I can only imagine the damage he would do there. We could still see him in there, wandering around with a broom from time to time. I'm left thinking that his decisions were not only due to a lack of training, care and concern for guests, or even basic common sense -- it was poor management. Forget about COVID protocols -- my concern is basic Health Department hygiene. This was enough to earn PF Chang's a non-passing grade, and the manager's lack of concern seems to be a deeper issue. Sadly, I will never return to this location. Poor decisions of a bus boy were exacerbated by even worse decisions from leadership. PF Chang's -- you should know better, and be ashamed of yourself. I know it's a chain, but with that, comes the higher expectation of systemization and quality standards, which were wholeheartedly ignored on this night. read more

We tried the Kung Pao chicken which was delicious, very different from other Kung Pao plates i've tried! I so love all the different flavors of it! My daughter tried the steamed dumplings which she always gets the fried any where else but she loved these!! Oh and hard not to mention, our attendant Mark was the best! I normally like P.F. Chang's but this review is strictly based on the lack of professionalism and service I received with this recent interaction. I could not be more disappointed with my experience. The P.F. Chang's website states that they now have delivery, so I placed an order. I promptly received a confirmation email for my order, so I assumed it was in fact ordered and in route. Over an hour later and ten minutes past the delivery window, I contacted the location to see if they could give me a more accurate timeline. I waited on hold for several minutes and finally spoke to Nick, who informed me they don't do delivery and he doesn't know why they have multiple delivery orders stacked up. I asked why they wouldn't just contact me and at least give me the option to pick-up or cancel and he, rudely, hung up on me! I called back and he would not come to the phone, so I spoke with a new employee who seemed confused. She had no idea who the GM of the location is nor Nick's last name (supposably Macias after I pressed harder). At best, this location is poorly run. At worst...how many orders are just sitting around collecting dust and germs waiting to be moved? Someone here needs to get it together. read more

I do miss the shrimp and melon entree though and wish they would bring that back. Lunch time is always a good bargain because of the lunch bowls. They make the best wontons ever. The entrees... meh! Lomein was greasy and the fried rice was dry. The poke bowl was different as it was served in a mason jar and the fried wontons that accompanied it was burned and greasy. The egg drop soup, well I'm not sure I would call it that, it was indescribable and weird. Definitely lacked the flavor of egg. I will never order that again. The dessert was bomb as usual. We stopped by on Saturday for dinner after several years of eating there. The host was welcoming and our server was nice and attentive but the food quality was horrible as if I was eating over priced fast food the only thing that tasted good was our alcoholic beverages. The appetizers were outstanding. From the sushi to the dumplings, just amazing. Our entree came out quick and was also delicious. All of our rices were a bit undercooked but it was hardly noticeable because the food was so tasty. My only complaint is that all of our food had an ungodly amount of oil in it and our server was a bit slow, which is a given because the restaurant was decently full. read more

This is a great location as its the Quarry. It's very convenient when doing a day of shopping. The place itself has a nice ambiance. It's significantly darker inside so when you walk out at the middle of the day, You dont realize how bright it is, but its an okay thing. The food was incredible. It was an improvement compared to Orange County PF locations where food was too salty so they have improved the quality in SA. Long wait at arrival. Hostesses not the friendliest for early afternoon. Maybe the 40 min wait at 130 was too stressful. We asked whether we could dine at the bar If a open seat came up and that worked out for the most part. However the hostesses seemed stressed that we did so and harassed us. We told them that they could remove our names as we were eating at the bar as they earlier advised. Ridiculous. Glad to discover that they were now honoring the lunch menu on weekends. Started with shrimp dumplings, my favorite, but they came out cold. Ordered orange chicken with combo fried rice. Food was piping hot and yummy. Still had leftovers. Our server who happened to be the bartender was great. He stayed pretty busy but kept an eye on things. It has been a long while since my husband and I have eaten at PF Chang's. We were enticed to return with an email for Free Hokkien Noodles with another entree purchase. We've not even heard of Hokkien Noodles before so we decided we should give it a try. Historically, all time favorite at PF Chang's are theirs Chicken Lettuce Wrap and Steamed Sea Bass. We ordered the Chicken Lettuce Wrap but opted to try something different so we ordered the Hokkien Noodles and the Mongolian Beef. We were more than a bit disappointed. Our chicken lettuce wrap arrived in a different presentation since the last time we had eaten at PF Chang's. It used to be served in a large oval bowl with a heaping pile of the chicken mixture over a small serving of fried noodles and a large wedge of lettuce. Today, it came out in a ceramic container the shape of a take out box and the lettuce to the side and a small dish of sauce. It looked pretty but I was skeptical that it would be full of the chicken mixture. Boy was I correct! It was 2/3 filled with fried noodles and only the top 1/3 with the chicken mixture. That's about HALF of what it use to be AND the price went up. To pay for the new ceramic containers?? The lettuce had a couple surprises as well. They had a few pieces of baby romaine lettuce but underneath it was the typical iceberg lettuce BUT it was cut into small triangles. Too small to wrap anything in. To make the most of the dish, we had to pour all of the sauce on top of the noodles so it was edible or had SOME flavor. Then, the main dishes arrived. The Hokkien Noodles looked okay BUT, it totally lacked flavor. No spice. No curry flavor. As advertised. The shrimp was over cooked, rubbery. Even the chicken was slightly over cooked. The Mongolian Beef was 50% scallions and the beef was also over cooked. It was SWEET. . Not spicy at all. "0" level, maybe "-1". The (brown and white) was perfect. Our waiter, Eddie, was wonderful. He tried to provide some sauce (2 versions) to help doctor up our noodle dish. It was good effort but there was nothing that was going to help fix the over cooked proteins. Since it was a FREE dish, we just gave up. We focused our appetite on the Mongolian Beef. Unfortunately, as much of a carnivore as we are, we just couldn't make ourselves finished the over cooked SWEET beef. Only thing left was the scallions. We like vegetables as much as the next person but near raw scallion just wasn't calling us. As Rewards Members, we use to get a FREE dessfor our birthdays, nope! Discontinued by corporate. Everything has been to cut corners and make larger profits. It was my husband's birthday recently. Eddie, provides us with a small dessert "on him" to help improve our dining experience. He recommended the MisoButterscotch Pudding. It did help turn our frown into closer to a neutral face by the end. We still tipped him well since it wasn't Eddie's fault. BUT, it may be a LONG while before we return. My thought (I'm Chinese): this is not Asian Bistro...it's Asian-LIKE Bistro. There's rice and soy sauce. 2 1/2 stars, but no 1/2 option. UPDATE REVIEW: PF Chang's reached out to us and wanted to know details to make improvements. That, by itself, deserved an extra STAR. They wanted details and then the Manager at their restaurant personally reached out to us. To our surprise, they mailed us three $10 gift cards to come out to give them another try to redeem themselves. Today, September 16th, I went back to PF Chang's on Basse Rd in San Antonio. We opted to stick with the weekday Lunch Menu. My husband ordered the Korean Bibimbap with steak, I ordered the Ahi Poke Bowl, and my daughter ordered the Tempura Bowl with sweet and sour sauce...all from the lunch menu and the Shrimp Tempura Roll, along with a Diet Coke, Mango Iced Tea and a Chang's Margarita. The drinks came out first. I also had a glass of water with lemon. The wedges were so tiny that I had at least 2 half wedges fly across the room. Luckily, I was the only person wanting it for my drink so all of the rest went into my glass. The diet soda and Mango Iced Tea was fairly standard. The Chang's Margarita ($5 special on Monday's) was excellent! My daughter enjoyed her Tempura Bowl with her sweet and sour sauce. My husband's meal came out with chicken instead of steak, but it was rectified quickly and he quite enjoyed it. My Ahi Poke Bowl was delicious but then I realized the avocado was missing. Our waiter offered to re-make the dish but we were happy for him to just bring out the avocado to add to the dish. The Shrimp Tempura Roll was delicious and disappeared in a blink of an eye. So, bottom line, the company is willing to fix what is wrong but you as the client must be vigilant to what you are supposed to get. Also, for us, we will come on Wednesdays for our Lettuce Wrap. I hadn't eaten at this particular location before and I immediately regretted it. The service was subpar, the bathroom and floors were filthy which made me wonder what the kitchen looked like. I ordered some soup and the waitress at the bar failed to bring me a set up. When I asked her about this she claimed she didn't know what a set up was. My meal was brought about 15-20 minutes later and it was semi warm and didn't taste fresh. I ordered the Singapore Street noodles and the meat was hard and chewy. I had to ask for the chili and sauce and the waitress claimed she didn't know what this was at first too. Not sure what kind of training they do but the server didn't know anything about good service. I definitely won't be going here again. read more

Chang's for late dinner tonight (we work late hours so we always eat out around 830pm every night) We sat at the bar and it was around 845 pm when we ordered drinks and appetizers Around 9pm the bar tender began cleaning the bar frantically actually almost obsessively like he had to close in the next 10 minutes to the point that it made us very uncomfortable to order the main course but we did anyway Big mistake we should have left If P.F. Chang's team n the quarry claims that they opened until 10pm they should be respectful of customers until they close and not starting cleaning the bar at 9pm We won't be back there anytime soon read more

This is my favorite restaurant in town, and I can't believe I haven't written a review sooner. The atmosphere has a dimly lit romantic and modern vibe with beautiful Asian decor. My usual is the Lettuce Wraps for appetizers and the Orange Peel chicken. But this time I went with something new per our wonderful waiter. I asked him would he go for the Harvest Curry or my usual. He explained he enjoyed both, but then went into full detail on the curry and all its ingredients and textures and I was sold. The curry was spiced to perfection (I like a little on the spicier side) and included generous amounts of chicken, asparagus, cauliflower, butternut squash, mushrooms and smothered in a bold Thai red sauce. I've learned it's ok to go out of your comfort zone at this restaurant because everything on the menu is superb and made with the utmost flavor and care. I also enjoyed a Japanese Old Fashioned made with Japanese whiskey and this puppy was strong! One of these is plenty for me. In all areas, from excellent customer service to atmosphere to top crafted drinks and food, this place continues to go above and beyond and remain in my top 5 favorite spots in town. read more

We had dinner at the Basse restaurant tonight. Matt gave us an awesome experience considering how many birthdays were happening. His knowledge on the menu was amazing and the attention he rendered our party was great. All the servers were attentive and it functioned like a well oiled machine. I called in and placed a order to go at the P F Changs, La Cantera location on Sunday June 18, 2023. I ordered 6 entrees and 2 appetizers. The meat on both the Magnolia Beef and the Beef with Broccoli entrees were dried up and were very salty. The Changs spicy Chicken was not spicy and the Crispy Honey chicken was not crispy.
