I rarely ever write a review about chain restaurants, we all know what you are going to get at a Applebee's or Red Lobster, you either appreciate it or you don't so there is little reason to waste digital ink. However, since PF Chang's is new to Spokane I thought I would throw my .02 in. Like most chain restaurants a lot of money and attention is paid to the atmosphere and Chang's doesn't miss a beat. The exterior and interior are nice, they even have a nice dining patio if you wish to overlook the mall and people watch. Where this (and most chains) fail is the food. They have to market their food for a broad spectrum of palates across the country. They also have to have food that is consistent in taste and presentation. It's a tough job getting just the right mix of ingredients that will sell well in Sarasota Fl and Spokane WA. Unfortunately in order to accomplish this chins must dumb down the food to appeal to the masses. In this case you get a highly Americanized/Asian fusion bistro. They rely on copious amounts of soy (salt) and fat (oil/deep-fried items) to assuage the typical fast food American palate. BTW, I have eaten at PF Chang's 5 times in 3 different states and they get kudos for preparing their fare consistently The bottom line is that this food is akin to Asian food as Olive Garden is akin to Italian or Taco Bell is akin to Mexican. While it uses some of the same flavors and names it's certainly no more representative of true Asian the stuff you buy at the mall food court. Don't get me wrong the food is not terrible or inedible, there are even some surprisingly decent fusion dishes albeit loaded with tons of salt. Will you like PF Chang's?????? If you find yourself frequenting chains like Olive Garden, Applebee's, Red Lobster and think they offer good food at reasonable prices good you will probably love PF Chang's. If on the other hand you are the type to be eating in the hand drawn noodle house where you are the only white folks there. Or you go into Asian bakeries where no one speaks English and walk out with a bag full of "stuff" you might be a little disappointed and also shocked at the over-priced nature of their food. If you are the later I suggest you skip PF Chang's and head to Gordy's for a nicer Szechuan meal or to Ming Wah for a cheaper San Fran style Chinese meal. read more

Even though I've only been here twice my experiences have been wonderful. Around this time of year you can sit outside & enjoy. Of course beware of the bees, they love their food & when waved away they seem to find their way back. Our waiter Kyle was fabulous. He was always checking to make sure we were good, made sure we had plenty of lettuce for our wraps, & even helped with the bee problem.....our hero waiter :-) When finished you are close enough to take a walk in the park & enjoy the carousel.....even an adults can have a little fun too ;-) read more

Wife and I went here on a Tuesday night. Haven't been here in three years, however we've always had great food and service. We were promptly seated, and waited on. Our waitress was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and very prompt. She brought us out some lettuce wraps and asked if we wanted them, since they were made for another customer by mistake who didn't want them. I had the Kung Poa Shrimp, which was awesome as always. My wife had Orange Peel chicken which was also delicious. The service was so good that I ended up giving the waitress about a 90% tip. It's been a long time since a waiter/waitress had impressed me like that. One of the best PF Changs we've ever eaten at and we'll always go back. read more

Been coming to this place since it opened, treated right with quick service, however the last year the place has become poorly managed. Slow service coupled with poor customer service has made me think twice. After a long drive from home, felt like walking here from the hotel and grabbing a nice plate of Kung Pao, however after being sitting right away 7 minutes went by, with multiple wait staff walking by, no acknowledgement or water. Told myself if the waiter comes out again and doesn't notice me then I'm leaving, sure enough two people walk my way but passed on by. Enough, heading across the street to Red Robin. Don't expect to see P.F. Change here for much longer, the poor service is evident with the lack of patrons. read more

I was a little skeptical of such a large restaurant chain producing good Chinese food but I was wrong. I absolutely love P.F. Chang's! The lettuce wraps are great to start with. We usually split the honey crispy shrimp and orange chicken. It's so wonderful. I have to say that the service is always incredible here. I have been happy to over tip here...it's that good. They help make up a special sauce according to your preferences. From the bar, my friends and I love the Asian Pear Mojito. They are one of the best drinks in town, in my opinion. This is a great place to eat, especially if you're across the street shopping at Riverpark Square or catching a movie. Just keep in mind that there will most likely be a wait on the weekends! read more

Over rated. There were 5 of us. We each had a different lunch bowl. They come with soup. We all had the hot and sour and I was the only one at the table who came close to finishing it. The lunch bowls were bland. We all experimented with the sauces to try to get a flavor that we liked. Again, we left a lot of food behind. Maybe I'm not a fan of "fusion" cuisine or I've just not have eaten decent fusion that impresses me. The service every time I come here is great, everyone is friendly and if the waitstaff make a mistake they immediately remedy the situation. Last time I went we ordered the lettuce wraps and the waiter completely forgot to write it up, so when we reminded them about it they wrote it off our ticket and provided it for free. A+ policy. The reason why I am giving this place only 3 stars for such good service? The food. It doesn't "wow" me. The menu also seems limited to me and each time I go I can never quite find something I truly want to eat, so I pick at near random. I am not a picky eater by any means. Each dish I have tried has not been really speculator either, many of the dishes seem easy to make at home. Eating here is a really forgettable experience. Served as family style? Our order of Kung pao chicken consisted of 12 small pieces of chicken, about 3 oz of peanuts and less than one stalk of celery, for $17.00. Better off getting a 12 pc McNuggets. Why market as family style and give a portion that is less than 2 cups. The chicken tasted good, the few pieces that I got. The spinach salads plain. The chocolate cake was the only upside to our meal. Left hungry and disappointed. I used to frequent the restaurant in Monterey California and remember a much better experience. read more

The atmosphere is outstanding, the service is great, but most of the food is just okay. The Salt & Pepper Calamari is fantastic as was Tam's Spicy Noodles (now discontinued). Every chicken dish I've ever had there was bland and overcooked. Their Kung Pao Chicken is literally just chicken with some bits of green onion. So . . . As long as you pick the right dish, PF Chang's can be a nice night out. read more

Such a beautiful restaurant decor wise. It is very busy so don't expect to walk right in and sit down or have the waiters spend a ton of time with you. The food is really good, tons of flavor and variety. We tried the Surf and turf main dish and the vegetable spring rolls and the northern style ribs for appetizers. I asked the waiter - I think his name was Chris - he said he'd been there for 5 years - for a recommendation. He recommended the some rare fish. The most expensive dish on the menu. Riiiiight. Pros: The place is very aesthetically pleasing and the food looks great! Though that's about it. Cons: The food is only mediocre at best. Looks delicious but tastes as good as frozen food in an Asian mart. Also the restaurant is always packed and this causes the service to lack. The waiters and waitresses also have no idea what they are talking about half the time. When I asked my waiter what was in the two dishes with lamb, I got an answer that was nearly identical to the title of dish.... I came here with some friends and didnt really have an idea on what i wanted. So i decided to choose 3 appetizers with hopes that one or two id really like and leave the less appealing one to my friends at the table to eat. I ordered the seared ahi, flaming wontons, and dynamite shrimp. All were very tasty and delicious. The only negative to the food i had was there sauce on the seared ahi. I had a gift card and decided to treat myself for my birthday. I was so excited since they state that everything is made fresh and I really wanted to eat some good Chinese food. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I ordered multiple items from the menu so I could give most things a try. Sesame Chicken - very bland - the broccoli was a gray-green color - chicken was cooked well though Special Lo Mein w/ Chicken - this was also very bland - noodles were over done - veg was still crisp so that was ok but again no flavor Fried Rice - was not worth the extra $3 - no taste - the only veg you could see were carrots - no eggs or green onions - rice was extremely mushy. I should have just ordered the white rice - it is kind of hard to mess that up Pork Ribs with Dry Rub - this is pork so it should have been nice and juicy - flavor was good but drier than dirt - I was so sad Vegetable Spring Rolls - kinda on the greasy side - the veg inside was totally over cooked and gray - again no flavor - the dipping sauce was good Garlic/ Pepper Green Beans - no flavor - just a bit of spice - it was not over cooked though Everything could use some salt/ seasoning/ sauce - anything to give it some flavor. Safeway's Chinese in the Deli section was just as good if not better and way way cheaper. Panda Express is much more flavorful and tasty - I would definitely recommend them over PF Changs any day. I am just glad that I had a gift card to use and paid only a little more out of pocket. Otherwise, I would have taken everything back - that is how disappointed I was. Service was excellent and the food was presented beautifully and was delicious We were there in April 2013.. We ate a variety of dishes and I think the Ahi Tuna was my favourite.. Overall we were more than satisfied and would go back again. Nice thing is that they are very involved in the community.Manager Stephanie was a bright young woman who saw to it that her restaurant was run efficiently and the food top-notch! PF Chang's in Spokane gets 3 stars. PF Chang's anywhere else (or at least where I live, Portland OR) wouldn't even get a visit. This last visit I had: the pork dumplings (steamed) - fine; the calamari - only tasted like breading; and a glass of wine - nice generous pour. The service is perfectly fine, the food is perfectly fine. And if anyone has suggestions of a better place to go in Spokane when I'm there for the airport, please let me know. Just what is expect when walking into a P.F.! If you try this location on a Friday or Saturday, leave someone at the front and then make a run through the bar to see if there's a free table. It's a little easier to get a table in the summer because they have outdoor seating fired up, but depending on how nice it is the wait may be even longer. read more

If I could offer one suggestion, maybe tell your servers to hipster it down a little. When they try so hard, it comes off as an act and it got a bit annoying after the first 10 mins. The name and look are the same as other PF Changs, which I enjoy, but while this one has similar menus, the food is a bit different. The sauces and service is good, and the appetizers are pretty good and similar to other PF Changs. The entrees, seem to have been localized. Loads of broccoli with the tofu dish, not sure what was up with that. read more

Always a good meal here. Love that they have steamed healthier choices too. We always come here when visiting our son at WSU. It's super close to hotels and malls that we're able to walk to the restaurant. Every time we've been here the wait is shorter than quoted and servers are always friendly. Forth time I have had dinner here at P.F. Changes in Spokane. I have always had excellent service here, warm and friendly servers, ours John, is exceptional. He is attentive and notices when I need soOnly once was the wait longer, but it was very busy and we got coupons. The food really is good. I have tried many different items on the menu and each one has had been so tasty, for example the Mongolian beef is one of my favorites because the flavor is unique and doesn't compare to other Mongolian beef. The rice is always cooked just right, and fluffy. The only thing that might be a drawback is the deserts. The bananas egg roll is the only really good desert, the rest are not so great, the chocolate cake is awful, which tastes like a thawed frozen cake. Overall I definitely enjoy the dinners here. read more

We had the BEST experience here in 2010! After a disappointing ordeal earlier in the day, our group ended up here for dinner. We ordered the usual and also the pan friend noodles, recommended by the waitress. Everything was great... except for the noodles which were so salty one of my friends literally spit them out. The waitress felt terrible, sent over the manager who was delightful. He took the noodles off our bill and after hearing about our terrible day, treated us to chocolate cake! Besides getting a free dessert, his manner and genuine caring attitude totally turned our day around. Which is why I keep coming back! Most recent visit we had egg drop soup, chicken lettuce wraps, crispy honey chicken, candied walnut shrimp, noodles with chicken, chocolate caramel cake thingy, and deep friend bananas. PF Chang's downtown is good, don't get me wrong. Service is usually good. But it's a chain . High price small portions. Great taste, so if you're craving flavorful Chinese dishes then you can't go wrong. My only complaint is that we've been before and could have happy hour in restaurant and then the next time not. Then another time we could have happy hour on patio outside and then the next time not. So who knows, but get it straight. I think it should be offered in the whole restaurant to promote more business personally. We left because we couldn't go to the bar with our kids for happy hour. read more

I'll have to first state that I am a firm believer in America's version of Chinese food, which from what people tell me is nothing like actual Chinese food. It's cheap, satisfying, and downright tasty. P.F. Chang's I guess makes a pretty decent attempt at creating a slightly more upscale version of said "Chinese" food. It works out pretty well if you're a fan of gimmicks. I digress. The place was clean and the waiter was nice. He blew it when it came to the Chang sauce though. It didn't really add much to the meal if that's what it was supposed to do. The waiter also made a pretty terrible recommendation for a cocktail, I can't really fault him for that however considering it was what he most likely enjoyed. The food was served in a timely manner even though the place was packed. Ahi appetizer was a bit small but my friends bowl of soup was enormous. My meal was pretty unspectacular considering I can't even remember what I had. I don't remember it tasting bad. That's a good thing right? I've been to P.F. Chang's before and this one was just as good as the rest but I can't ever help but feel slighted when I probably could have paid 6.99 somewhere for an All-You-Can-Eat version of this place. read more

PF Chang's serves up excellent, tasty Asian food in Spokane. The ingredients are always fresh and well prepared. The menu is extensive and it has great choices from great soups, salads and main courses. It is the best Chinese, Asian food in Spokane. The atmosphere is nice, but can be noisey. If you want a treat, let the server choose from the menu and enjoy. A great place for that special occasion. You can park across the street in the mall parking garage. read more
