Much better burger than whataburger, and it's actually from Texas. Double cheeseburger with jalapeños on wheat bun.

It is four stars for the french fries. Burgers small and ho-hum. Giant cookies for a dollar good. Iced tea is good.

Burger was good and was reasonably-priced. Drive thru lane was a bit slow, but not too bad. Staff seemed friendly as well.

I recently got try Austin's newest chicken sandwich spot: Chicka Boom and damn, did I enjoy the…read morefood. What you get here are chicken sandwiches that are different than what's primarily available such as: - Chicka Boom Sandwich: a Karaage-style (lightly battered) fried chicken thigh infused overnight in sake, soy, and Japanese herbs and spices, with an assortment of veggies, yuzu (think: lemon) aioli, and yuzu slaw. ($12.99) - Chicken Katsu Sandwich: a Katsu-style (panko bread crumb crusted) chicken breast with goat cheese, yuzu aioli, and apple slaw. ($12.99) The main difference here aside from the variation of the veggies would be the texture. Chicka Boom would be a lot more lighter and softer. Katsu would be crunchier! Can't go wrong with both, but if I had to pick: Chicka Boom is my fav. Plus you get to choose a sauce when you order and you GOT to get the Triple Herb ranch which is made of garden mint, basil, and cilantro - it's TOO GOOD!! The yuzu honey aioli is a good runner up as well, the sweet creamy sauce would be a contrast to the herbal one above. You can also get: - Karaage-Style Popcorn Chicken: similar sentiments to what I said above - good choice if you don't want a sandwich! ($11.99 for the large with no toppings) - Tater Tots: this has a blend of spices and sauces, what's more to say? Just look at the picture. They were a welcome addition to my meal. ($8.99 for "all the way") - Mac Daddy (COMING SOON!): think about the oriental blend of herbs and sauces you've seen throughout the sandwiches now imagine them with creamy, rich delicious mac & cheese. This was addicting! It's not on the menu yet, but stay tuned because it will soon! All in all, you get good food from a chef that has years of culinary experience and she knows the ins and outs of the chicken sandwich industry. I highly suggest you give Chicka Boom a try. They are only available for delivery where you can find them on DoorDash today and other services very soon! They get a 5/5 in my book for being amazing.

Grilled to-order using 100% all-natural, never-frozen Black Angus beef, with the freshest produce, classic American cheese, and our homemade special sauce, all on a fresh baked bun (4/5). I made it a combo that came with fries and a drink that I upgraded to a shake. French Fries: They use only all-natural Idaho Potatoes for their french fries (4/5). Hand spun Milkshakes (Strawberry) Made with real milk. Great flavors like traditional vanilla, strawberry and double chocolate along with not so traditional flavors, caramel, root beer and Oreo, round out a great meal. A pretty good burger joint. I am strangely addicted to tracking my macros and so I order the chicken nuggets every time (look up the protein, it's insane!). The woman who took my order was super nice and she yelled at the kitchen staff to drop my nuggets into the fryer. They were super fresh and were delicious with buffalo sauce. P-terry's might not be the cheapest fast food in town any longer but it still serves the same quality every time. This location was clean and, although weirdly dark, it had a good vibe. The parking is tight so be careful!

I've been to their location off 6th street, but I couldn't remember a thing. Here, I knew I wouldn't forget. Happy Chicks off Burnet is small. There's like 5 tables inside, and the line's path wraps around them. Their menu is simple. Chicken fingers? If so, how many? I ordered their Happy Chick with 3 tenders that I got spicy. All orders come with fries plus an extra side and a sauce. I got a side of their mac and cheese and some honey mustard. Chicken is an uphill battle especially if it's cooked shortly after ordering. 10 minutes later, and our food was served to us outside. The breading on those tenders was intense. They were crispy with an earth-shattering crunch with plenty of flavor. The spicy was not spicy whatsoever. Just a slightly more seasoned tender. The fries were crispy and a pretty standard affair at a local spot like Happy Chicks. The mac was a great side choice as I thought they did a pretty nice job with them as well. The prices were pretty fair with a chicken sandwich costing $9.99 and my 3-piece meal costing me a cool $12.50 There's so many chicken tender spots going around in Texas, but it's always cool to come to an Austin-localized spot to mack down on some poultry. But by the time my friend arrived about 1:10 the line had disappeared and the crowd was quickly thinning out. I had the farmhouse club and my friend went with a salad (I forget which one). My sandwich was absolutely delicious and I cleaned it up. His salad was enormous and he couldn't finish it. He had enough leftover to take home for another meal. Neither came with a side but they are available for purchase. The restaurant is bright and cheerful inside with plenty of seating. And the staff are very friendly and eager to assist throughout the meal. The only downside is their prices being a little high for the type of setting so one star off. I will probably return anyway for the delicious sandwich. But I wish it came with chips!

I've been for both lunch and dinner, and lunch is clearly the peak time, which makes sense given the sandwich, salad, and soup menu. It feels built for the midday lunch crowd. The kitchen runs very efficiently, the line moves quickly, and online ordering is very easy. It's counter service, but I've taken meals to go a few times and everything traveled well. As of February 2026, it still has that brand new restaurant feel. The interior is bright, clean, and modern, and there's a ton of outdoor seating. However, you are just off 38th Street and across from the Seton medical complex, so al fresco dining may not be the quietest experience depending on traffic and time of day. Overall, a great addition to the area for lunch (or dinner).
