This review is intended to be read by the owner of Pachanga. My wife and I have been going to Pachanga since they opened and we have always loved it. But for me, the experienced has become disappointing. Twice in a row, my Gourmet Steak Burrito, has had at least 10% grisseled meat. Also this last burrito was significantly smaller than what they have been. When you are paying $14.00 for a burrito, at least make sure that every bit is satisfying. I realize these are challenging times for restaurants and all businesses. But they are also challenging for your customers. Amazing food, have been going here for 25+ years and love the Burrito Padrino burrito with chicken. Food is always really fresh, staff professional and quick to make your meal just like you want it and hot off the grill. Love the various fresh salsas and spicy carrots and jalapeños as well. Recently ordered one of their family style taco platers for a family get together which was a major hit. This included steak, chicken, rice/beans, flour and corn tortillas and lots of salsa and chips :) Will definitely be doing another one of these during an upcoming family/friend get together, thanks guy for all the amazing food over the years. It's not very good!! The food is pretty plain,generic,dry,doesn't have much flavor and they use too much cheese. Almost all their dishes have loads of cheese;not necessary. I give them 2 stars because they do make a really good black salsa. But if you want to eat real,authentic Mexican food; try La Perla(106&prairie). You can really taste the effort and enthusiasm in la perlas food. read more

I used to eat here all the time when I was a kid. I just went here recently and this place has really gone downhill. I ordered a carne asada burrito and the steak was fatty and hard to chew. Been coming here for years! Food is delicious and friendly workers. Since this pandemic has started and masks are requieres we've been there few times. Sad that those few times there is one employee who always has her mask under her chin or not even on. She only puts it on when she takes the order. But the second she's done she takes it off. Is talking to the chefs without a mask! If we the customers need to wear them ALL EMPLOYEES should too! She's no different then us. Today she walked in without a mask. Was on her phone (like always) and lowers the mask. Talking without a mask around the food is a big NO NO! If she can't follow protocol then maybe she shouldn't be working. Feels like a chain similar to Baja Fresh. Decent mexican fare. Love their salsas! Burrito Sabroso with Chicken: This is typically what I get. They do chicken pretty well. Nice char. Moist and flavorful. Their salsas are amazing! I typically use all of them but their green one just kicks butt with flavor! Seating is tight. This place follows the go up to the counter and order your plate the way you want format. You know, choose steak, chicken, type of beans, etc. Pay, have a seat and your food will be ready in a moment. They're quick too. Special shout out for the delicious choices on the salsa bar. Very basic seating inside. Tables on the left when you walk in and counter/business side on the right. Gets really busy during workday lunchtime. People have mentioned the large parking lot, but come with your best maneuvering and avoidance skills during the busy hours because people have other things on their minds besides safe driving and/or walking. I saw this restaurant while eating in the plaza where it is located. I swung in on the way to the office to get a breakfast burrito as I was told they were pretty good. Good is an understatement! It was really wonderful. I had eggs and chorizo with cheese. YUM! It was so big and so full, I had to wait until I was at my office to eat it or it would have ended up all over my shirt. The menu looked great and reasonable and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant looked nice and clean. I would certainly head here again for breakfast or any meal actually! read more

Been eating here since their opening day back in 1991. I love their burrito padrino. Their homemade salsas are soooo delicious! They have 4 salsas and I love the liquidfied tomatillo ones. It goes great with their homemade chips too. The inside hasn't changed since day one, and they kept it looking nice. I hope they stay here forever! read more

More often than not I find myself on a budget. I try to limit myself to items that are $5 dollars and under. Now that I'm trying to reduce my meat consumption, it's nearly impossible to find a decent on my price range. Thank goodness Pachanga's vegetarian taco meets all my criteria and then some!! Two corn tortillas, choice of black or pinto beans, Spanish rice, shredded lettuce and guacamole with a side of chips. As I seat here eating my left over chips and salsa, I can't help but think how delicious this place is; truly I have never had a bad customer service experience, food always amazing and fresh. I typically ALWAYS get the asada torta, when I say always, I mean it . However this one day. They ran out of bread for the tortas. I could consider this a bad experience but I got there after 2 and maybe everyone working around there wanted tortas that day, IDK (benefit of the doubt?). Ordered Pachanga Mexican Grill for the first time and it did NOT disappoint. Tried the new nacho fries with both Carne Asada and chicken. The carne Asada was flame grilled and melted in my mouth with just the right amount of spices. The chicken was grilled to perfection and they were very gracious with their servings. The toppings in the nacho fries were just the right amount. The guacamole was one of the best I've tasted and their Pico de Gallo was by far the best yet. I loved dipping my chips in the pico. I've been coming to Pachenga's since it opened in the early 90's, so I think its about time I reviewed it! During all that time it's been a nice inexpensive local "go to" when the itch for good Mexican hit me. My absolute #1 is the Padrino Burrito, especially when hungry (it's a good size). Key is slathering on the salsa which just makes the flavors pop. The hot one will certainly make your nose run! Over the years I've had the tacos (the wife likes the veggie version), quesadillas and other burritos and all are good. Service is definitely fast and has always been friendly. read more

Wow... I don't even know what to say. Pachanga used to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Last night was a whole other experience. Simply put, the food just wasn't good. I wanted a burrito... but I wanted fish as the protein. It's not listed as a choice on their menu, but I was told by an employee that I could add any protein to any burrito. I placed the order over the phone and it should've concerned me when the lady said the food would be ready in 5 minutes. When I received the food, first off...the tortilla chips were OLD... You could literally SMELL how old they were. Stale and crunchy HARD. Grease soaked...then dried... and cold. It should've also concerned me when I could 'smell' the fish and hadn't opened the burrito wrapper yet. When I did get to the burrito, on the first bite, I could really smell the fishy-ness now. It just wasn't fresh. I tried to eat it..but, I opted to TRASHING IT instead. (For my own safety) What a blow. What a waste of money at another So Cal restaurant that I may never return to. It was fun while it lasted, but PACHANGA, you should stop shortchanging your customers. Especially during COVID. It had been a long time since I had been there. This is hands down the best restaurant in Manhattan Beach. The menu is fantastic and has been the same since the beginning of time, the staff is awesome (best in the state), and the food is amazing. Go have a chicken gourmet burrito and tell me I'm wrong. You CAN'T. The meat is roasted right in front of you on the grill, salsas made fresh daily (the Santa Maria is my go-to if you're craving some SPICE). Their burritos aren't filled with a bunch of BS, they are pure, wholesome, healthy, and teeming with love. Oh and did I mention, that they can wrap a burrito faster than you can say "guaca-"! Yeah that's right. These people are pros. They live and breathe great food and great service. In conclusion, Pachanga is a true local spot, tucked away in a shopping center. This review should be a big surprise to anyone who knows me: not because i went to this restaurant but because i went to this restaurant because it is in the South Bay....Manhattan Beach specifically. And this Dude rarely goes to the South Bay or the Westside for that matter. But be that as it may, i was visiting a long lost friend who lives in MB and being that Pachanga is one of his faves......we went with the smell of salt water in our noses. Pachanga has several meanings in spanish but the one i like is that it is a wild dance similar to both the cha-cha and the samba. Though there was no dancing going on here: there was some pretty good cooking. Since I will eat Nachos pretty much anywhere and in any form i ordered the Beefy Nachos and this dish was very well prepped and presented. The Guacamole was creamy, tasty and sparked with onions, seasonings and a bit of tomato. Chips were fresh and warm. Beef was beefy, savory and obviously freshly cooked. We also had a steak quesadilla which was less than a success. The steak was a bit chewy probably because the whole piece was cut with the grain rather than across it. This could have happened with the vendor or at the restaurant. In either event, it ruined the product. Also it should have been served with something other than just chips. The Burrito was jammed pack with good stuff: sauce, meat, greens,tomato all wrapped in a home made tasting flour tortilla. This is a well thought out, tasty product. The service was quick. The counter help was nice and willing to help and explain the menu. My MB friend of course was in heaven here and it was good to see him after several years. I will be back here to visit him as well as to dance the P-A-C-H-A-N-G-A !!!! read more

Ordered the burrito Patrino for a quick lunch with a coworker. I have to give Pachanga credit for their lightning fast service. My order was ready within 3 minutes of ordering during peak lunch time. The burrito is a hearty size and the prices are reasonable, too. For being a signature entree, the burrito Patrino did not wow me. I wasn't overly fond of the wrap, it was kind of dry and a bit stiff. The contents were fine, but again not super memorable. The meat tasted like something I could make at home on a stove top. I'd say Chipotle tastes much better; but of course with the recent negative press about people getting sick I haven't gone to Chipotle in a while. Frankly I think the burritos from Del Taco pack more flavor, but I love Del Taco. In summary, Pachanga is good if you want a quick meal that will make you full at an affordable price. read more

I had already eaten but sneaked a bite of the burrito and gorged on the chips because HOLY MACKEREL. That salsa bar is bomb!!! My favorite was the Negrita salsa. Medium spice with a hint of sweetness. They also had onions and cilantro as a side. Ultimately, this is a place that uses Mexican ingredients, but it's not MEXICAN food. For me it's three simple words - Chicken Padrino Burrito Their chicken is tasty, and they have a great mix of ingredients in the Padrino burrito that provides a nice balance and really hits the spot. Comes with chips and a few selections from their salsa bar depending on your taste. Service is usually pretty fast and you can also get delivery through Grubhub - beware though, in my first delivery order with them I was missing a salad they I ordered and had to get it credited through GH. They weren't that apologetic about it when I called to see what was up. If you're in the area, it might be a good idea to run out and get it, and at least parking is pretty good at the time.
