That fact alone is saying something. So I come in after work or working out and it's the perfect food cap for my day. I get the gourmet burrito, with chicken and add sour cream, and it's the bomb. Also, it always comes with chips, and they have a variety of salsa that is all delicious. Customer service is something this restaurant has forgotten. The food is good if you don't ask for anything different from the menu. three times I have ordered a breakfast burrito without egg and extra hash browns. Every time I get either no egg and no extra hash browns making it the smallest 6 dollar burrito on the planet or extra egg and no hash brown. The food is good, there is no doubt. The burrito was a decent size and the mini nachos are pretty big considering they are mini. Their guacamole is more tomatoes than avocado. The lady taking orders today was extremely rude. I ordered a lemonade, she didn't ask, she said, "Fill it it with ice." Someone was in the process of getting their own drinks, so I was waiting and again the lady yelled, "FILL IT WITH ICE!". I'm local so this is my favorite for fast Mexican food. I've only ordered the burritos so can't comment on tacos or salads. As for burritos, I have tried: Gourmet, Padrino & Tomatillo. Padrino is too big since I'm getting older & cutting back. Lately it's been the Tomatillo. The food is good, not great but hey, it's Mexican fast food. Why I give it 5 Stars is the unbelievable Tomatillo salsas. The fresh salsa is good but the roasted green and dark tomatillo salsa (negrita?) are great. I like the dark best. I'm giving this place 4 stars for multiple reasons. 1. This place is just about the best place in this area to get a burrito. I usually get the "burrito padrino" with steak. It's essentially the works with sour cream, guacamole, and all. Hold the frijoles, please... You pair this with some of their in-house salsa and you got a mighty fine lunch. 2. Fast! Like lightning fast... I placed my order at the counter, the lady charged my card and gave me a number. Before I could sit down, my burrito was ready with chips. I almost couldn't believe how fast this was. I can't stress or emphasize how fast they are... like really... like seriously. 3. Salsa bar... It's not huge, but it's definitely nice to see that they have good salsa that's free for the taking. Me and my mom used to go to a Pachanga at the Citadel Outlets years ago. We would eat this every weekend. Finally i had an Oh Duh moment and looked up another Pachanga since i used to LOVEEE it and their salsa bar! Now we come to this one. We always get the vegetarian burrito. Staff is so friendly. Salsa is AWESOME. Love the green on my burrito and the fresh chunky tomato one on my chips. We went back the other day and asked if they would cut it in half. We decided to share since we go to Bristol Farms and load up on free samples after. This place is fairly consistent in every way. I do wish they had spicier options (either some peppers to put in the food or a hotter salsa but I have that at home. I definitely prefer the steak to the chicken here as well so it's really a matter of finding out what you like. The place probably would have received 4 stars from me 4 yrs ago, but realistically speaking: 3 stars. Some of my co-workers like the place - as do many other people it seems as the lunch hour line often goes well outside the door. Even though it's situated in a plaza among lots of other food options (Bristol farms, samurai sam's, and Subway right next door) which can make finding a parking spot at lunch tough at times. however, it gets pretty empty in the evenings. anyway, I really like their chicken tomatillo burrito. They don't do ginormous burritos a la Chipotle which I appreciate. But I feel like they've gotten progressively smaller over the years (maybe it's just me). I stopped in here just browsing around the little plaza this place is in. I've only tried their fish tacos and they're good. Not great but I do really like them. I really like how they are grilled and not fried with a thick batter. They also have a small salsa bar and I love their thick tomato salsa. The menu is pretty much what you'd expect at a Mexican place...tacos, burritos, etc. What stood out most was that they had a vegetarian section. A lot of Mexican places maybe have one sad vegetarian option, or you're trying to heavily modify something to remove meat/dairy/etc, but not here. For the lunch rush, these guys sure got hustle. I ordered the dos taco plato azul con pollo y refrito frijoles & a Sprite. What I got was two tiny tacos heaping full of grilled chicken, sides of beans very much like good ole Rosarita makes and some flavorful rice with a tiny scoop of guacamole topped off with freshly made tortilla chips. After I excavated my food by moving around the chips, I found it to be quite tasty for the $7 some odd duckets I shelled out. I added some salsa fresca, too. An alright place here. Good when you are in the mood for some Mexican fast food. Their meats do have a nice grilled taste to it since they grill their meats. This place is one of the rare places that actually do not have self-serve fountain drinks. Thus, you are dependent on them if you want refills or how much ice you want in your cup. I will always prefer self-serve fountains. Also, they have very limited Cholula hot sauce bottles. I think they only had two for the entire place. And their salsa bar is quite small so you really have to squeeze around people to get some salsa. Overall, an alright place when you are hungry. read more

The coworker took me to Pechanga as a quick lunch fix option. One thing that came to my as soon as I saw their menu and their food was "Man, this place reminds me of another Baja Fresh". The difference? THINGS TO KNOW: 1. Parking will not be an issue: Since the place is in the same lot as a bajillion other food establishments and a Bristol Farms market, the parking lot is very big and has ample spaces for everyone. Sure, you may have to walk a little, but it's all within the same lot. 2. Service is ridiculously fast: Pechanga is stinkin' fast. I placed my order, turned around to get some salsas, and to my surprise, my burrito was ready for me before I was done getting my salsa. They caught me off guard by how quick they were. Definitely a plus. 3. Seating is limited: This shop is relatively small, so there is very limited seating during times of high-tide. When Dave D. and I walked in, all of the tables were full. Luckily, right after we placed our order, two people got up and were cleaning up their table - score! 4. The chili peppers are HOT: I wanted to have a little something before the burrito, so I ate a whole pepper - not a good idea. My mouth and gut were burning up so bad, it was hard to enjoy the first half of my burrito. HITLIST: I got the standard Carne Asada burrito. Nothing glamorous. It was filling, the meat was flavorful, but a little bit on the salty side. The meat got stuck in my teeth a lot, which was bothersome at times. Overall, a little disappointing for the price I had to pay, but it filled my gut. [5.5/10] The complimentary chips were pretty good, but definitely on the oily side. Their pico de gallo and their salsas were flavorful and fresh, which is also a plus. VERDICT: There is nothing spectacular about Pechanga other than their speed. The food is your average American influenced Mexican food and not something you can't find at Baja Fresh or Rubio's. Good quick option for lunch since it's 2 blocks from work. I've only been here twice, but I've walked away more than satisfied both times. This is what I'd recommend: The Ceviche Tacos or the Torta w/ Chicken and don't forget the horchata. The ceviche tacos are probably one of the best I've had in El Segundo. Paired with their mild salsa this will definitely hit the spot without feeling guilty. The Torta (Mexican Sandwich) is also really tasty. They use the flavored pollo asada, some type of spicy mayo, lettuce and onions (or beets?) and bam you have a mouthwatering sandwich! Yelp did me wrong! The 3.5 rating led me to believe Pachanga would at least be edible! I had visited Pachanga years ago, when they had a location in Hermosa. I remembered it being good, so we tried it. Keep in mind, we had been running errands all morning and I was STARVING. First, be prepared to fight for a table at lunch. It is extremely loud and crowded, which is only made worse by the blaring salsa music and employees yelling out order numbers. I got the wet Chicken Gourmet Burrito, which was about $9.00 and had no sides. My mom had the nachos with chicken. My burrito was somehow served cold, despite their use of a grill. My burrito was topped with sauce and the cheese was cold and floating in it. Basically, I got a cold burrito that was literally half unripened tomato (their slang for "salsa"), some dark meat chicken, a teaspoon of guacamole and then some cold, vinegary sauce on top. Oh, and there were a few random chunks of steak at the bottom? Because they served it to me in a foil to-go dish, the sauce and the container had a slight reaction so it tasted like metal. Decided to have early dinner on a Saturday. The place was empty, and staffed by a couple of women behind the counter. We ordered a "Padrino" steak burrito and a vegetarian burrito. There was hardly any steak on the Padrino. It was loaded with beans and rice and little else. The veggie burrito was small. There was plenty of steak visible behind the counter on a cutting board, so the only thing I can think of is that the staff skimp on the portions so they can take home what's left over. This is common practice on many Mexican joints, especially on weekends when the owners are not around. I will not go our of my way again for this place, especially when Cozimel's is across the street. I'd rather pay the extra money and be satisfied. read more

I love the food at Pachanga and the cooks are very nice and friendly when they deliver your food to table or counter. However, I have been here a few times after work in the evening and the service is mediocre. Disinterested unfriendly cashier who does not greet you when you order...just a blank hostile stare. Over charged me twice when I wanted to add on rice and beans to my order which according to the menu costs 2.50. I got charged 3.20. When I mentioned this to the cashier, they had to use their smart phone to calculate the overage. I just told them you owe me 0.70 cents. Basic math not Rocket Science involved. No thank you(s) when I paid or when I departed. I will certainly avoid eating here in the evening and will continue to stop by for lunch.
