So I did since I was a first time visitor, wanted to see the menu before entering and was enticed to try the restaurant because of the offers. As I entered I asked the Hostess if either of the rewards could be used for in-restaurant dining. She really didn't know, didn't ask anyone and finally said they should work no matter how I order. Found out only after I had been seated that the offers, both of them, are only good on take out phone orders, according to my server. I ordered 3-piece fish fry. It came with coleslaw, 3 nicely breaded pieces of cod and French fries. The coleslaw was warm and had to be sent back. Cold coleslaw was returned. The fries were hot and pretty good while the cod was fine. At no point during my meal did my server return to ask how I was doing. The expression that you only get one chance to make a good first impression applies to this visit. It was not a good first impression. I did speak to the manager before I left, and he did tell me that the reward could have been applied to in-restaurant dining but his staff was not aware of that. I've been to Pacific Catch many times, which makes this experience even more disappointing. The service was shockingly bad. Our table was completely ignored. Not "slow service" ignored. Not "busy night" ignored. We were the only table that servers consistently skipped while they checked in on literally every other table around us. No check-ins, no follow-ups, nothing. I had to get up FOUR separate times just to ask for a single to-go box because they kept forgetting about our table entirely. Because the service was so poor, we decided to order several items to go. The bag they gave us didn't even fit our order. It was clearly not the standard bag they usually give. It honestly looked like a random bag pulled from the back, completely unfit for the amount of food we ordered. This is not what I've experienced at Pacific Catch before, which makes it worse. If this had been my first visit, I would never come back. Being repeatedly overlooked while watching staff attend to every other table is frankly humiliating as a customer. Been eating Pacific Catch dine-in or takeout for 20 years (but only because my elderly parents like it), and over the past five years this restaurant can't do anything right twice in a row. If your current order went well, you can be sure your next order will be wrong. Tonight they totally forgot our $8 side order of french fries, forgot to include the usual cole slaw with the fish and chips (not the first time), and for the first time ever, they even forgot the Thai chili sauce for the coconut shrimp. Tonight was an all-time low. Every other delivery, they overcook the coconut shrimp so badly until they are horribly dark brown. If you custom order fish and chips, you will never ever get the logical proportions of fish to chips (fries) to tartar sauce. This restaurant could be a graduate school case study in how *NOT* to run a restaurant... how over and over customers suffer the consequences of culinary staff level underperformance that somehow upper management never manages to fix- only allows to get worse and worse and now is ridiculously unacceptable for a county like Marin. Finally, I have provided constructive feedback a half a dozen times a half a dozen ways, including through LinkedIn and nobody ever ever replies to you- and you never ever get your money back for the lost or missing food the restaurant staff messed up or just plain failed to give to the delivery driver. read more

Coming back from the city we were feeling like fish and chips.. yelp search/ rating directed us to Pacific Catch. It was fairly quiet for 6pm on Sunday. Seated promptly- this is our first visit and we asked our server what his favorites were and he said he didn't like seafood. I was curious about the new Thai curry bowl ... but the ingredient/ combo was throwing me- I'm glad I asked for a small sample of the green papaya salad- it was like a weird slaw with a pungent dressing. Not sure how that would work with green curry. So I went safe with trio of tacos Our appetizer was the Korean ribs. As an appetizer, the portion was generous, however they were super salty. We each has one and that was enough. Good thing we were drinking water as we drank the bottle given for refills. A few minutes later, hubby's fish and chips arrived... he waited a min but I told him to eat.. the side slaw was ok, nothing exciting, fries we're plentiful but frozen fries that cooled off quickly. The fish and chips were hand dipped meaty tender chunks of fish. Tartar sauce was good. After hubby fished the first piece I began picking at the ribs since we were hungry. Our waiter no where to be found.. we waited.. I started picking at the fries and they were getting cold.. after a few more mins we track down our server and ask about my tacos - he checks and says they aren't done yet. Another 3-5 mins later hubby is finishing his dinner and mine arrives. Instead of Fries I ordered the side salad, salad was generous portion and had an interesting and refreshing dressing. My side of beans arrived luke warm and tasted straight from a can with a sprinkle of cojeta cheese. My trio of tacos - in all cases the corn tortilla was oily and necessary to hold the taco together but mostly unpleasant due to the amount of oil which made it a big soggy. The grilled yellowtail taco- it was good and cooked properly - hubby really enjoyed it. I could appreciate it but not my personal preference (not a big yellowtail fan) I ordered to try and pass to hubby. If you like yellowtail you will most likely really enjoy this refreshing taco. Hot fish taco- not sure if the two jalapeño slices are what makes it hot. I don't like jalapeños - this was not hot and just ok to me.. was missing something.. two bites as intended- tortilla oily and just removed fish and ate with tartar sauce Baja cod taco - by this time the tortillas are soggy with oil. I had one bite for me, one bite for hubby removed the fish and ate with tartar sauce. Our server didn't check on us until he was clearing plates.. bill came to $73 with tip I don't know what all the hype is about this place. Pacific Catch is a great place for lunch out. I love their bowls, and I order mine with their tasty grilled tofu. It's served ona quinoa-rice and salad base, and comes with marinated cucumber, cauliflower in a green sauce, radishes, avocado, and sprouts--and I'm sure I'm leaving something out! I get ample for two meals, and I always take half home. Their cocktails are delish too, and I love the tropical flavors. I can't finsih my review without mentioning that five-star service we always receive, and often thanks to Anthony. He is efficient, friendly, and fun. Pacific Catch never fails. Even door dashing it!!! My boyfriend and I always go there in person to dine in. I've done take out a handful of times when I used to work in SF because there was one near my office. Walnut Creek was our first love when we had it. I do say the Walnut Creek and Corte is the best. Compared to the one in SF. I feel like it's more consistency on the food and plating than SF. I love this place because it serves poke and it's so so so hard to find fresh and good Poke. There's a couple places in San Jose but who wants to drive all the way there for just poke unless it's like amazingly over the top then yes I supposed to would. The only down side about Pacific is I wish their French Fries was a little bit better. So many places that really can make simple dish like French fries taste like so wow. read more

Food was ok, service was quite bad. My friend called about an hour ahead to make a reservation for a party of 9 at 4:15pm on a Saturday. We arrived at the restaurant and the employee did not seem to remember the recent call. We waited a bit for our table and then were seated at a long table. For grabbing food at non-rush hour, service was incredibly slow and incomplete. Our water was never refilled, and we had to flag our waitress down for anything. None of our drinks were delivered, and the waitress did not notice. At the end of our meal, we had to ask her to remove our drinks from the bill since no one received any. Food itself was very overpriced for what it was. Most of the group got the double rainbow bowl and it came with a few pieces of sashimi that were nicely plated, but did not wow in terms of flavor. We got take out this time around instead of dinning in but when we picked up our food we realized they remodeled the restaurant so so check them out! I love "Pacific Fresh"! I have been going for about seven years! The one I used to go regularly was at "Pruneyard" in Campbell,Ca. My late husband and I used to go twice a week when they gave out free edamame at every table. My husband liked it because if you ate there a number of times you would get freebies! We loved their "Fish and chips"! And I would get their sushi rolls too. They make good sushi. One day we were there and we decided to get their "seafood tower"! When that baby came out all we could do was laugh and laugh! It was immense! It had lobster and clams and shrimp and everything on it! We visited on Wednesday evening and were seated immediately, though space outside was not available. Inside has a modern but kind of coffee shop chain feel, which seemed out of sync with both the food and the prices. It was a little bit noisy, but acceptable. Our server was very friendly and answered many questions about the menu. She provide reasonable guidance and allowed a minor substitution. However, we had to wait for a very long time for our wine and were partially finished with our meal before it arrived and then we also had to wait for the dessert order to be taken and delivered. They didn't seem to have adequate numbers of servers. The food was quite delicious. We both had the seabass, which was cooked nicely and very delicate. I chose a selection of sauces, the chimichurri sauce particularly good. The Peruvian potatoes were super unique and delicious and the broccolini was a little tasteless - but I had requested no sauce. My brother reported his broccolini was very good as was the kimchi rice. We split an ample gelato for dessert. It is not inexpensive as our bill came to $150 for two. A part of this was the wine which is particularly pricey. I did like the meal a lot and would rate it five stars if the ambience was a little better, the service a little more attentive and the price a little less. read more

This place is pretty awesome and has a wide variety of food to get. I usually stick with the Korean BBQ combo with steak and sticky ribs. Their sushi is made well too with good sauces and fresh fish. Highly recommend trying the guaca-poke appetizer and calamari which actually has a nice kick from the red peppers. Staff is always friendly and the restaurant is kept clean. It's been awhile since we have eaten at Pacific Catch. We made a reservation and we're seated promptly. The was the best part of the dinner. Service was the worst I have had in quite awhile they took our order after a long while and I had to ask for check after waiting 25 minutes once we were done eating Never came by. If it wasn't for a recommendation, I'd probably never would have tried. Keep in mind the dishes aren't traditional and that alone can disappoint those who expect the opposite. With that in mind, I've selected dishes without high expectation given this is my first time giving them a try. Korean BBQ Steak was a win. The steak was perfectly cooked and charred just the way I like it. It's nothing close to real Korean BBQ, but it has its place to my liking. I only hope consistency is there when I return for another round. Because of the poke bowl fad for the past few years, I tend to stay away from it. Often I end up disappointed. Took a chance and ordered their Ahi Poke. I must say it's pretty good but not the highlight of my experience. I also had the opportunity to try their Cabo Calamari. It was crisp and not overly battered. Sauce is hands down delicious. Ordering online was convenient. They timed cooking our food very well based on the requested pick up time. Both the steak and calamari tasted as if they weren't sitting out too very long. To go orders tend to be neglected and that's not the case here. I appreciate that tremendously. read more
