I've been here multiple times, and enjoy this place for several reasons: 1. It's good for larger parties since the place is spacious and the wait time isn't too long. 2. Happy hour 4-6pm M-F on a variety of appetizers and drinks. 3. Wine bottles half off on Tuesdays? A server told me yesterday. It could be a temporary special. 4. Heated outdoor patio and garage. I have tried and liked: -the poke trio (original is my favorite) -calamari (it's okay) -poke rice bowls -fish and chips Service is hit or miss. I had some pretty monotone servers yesterday. ***editing as a response to the owner, we were absolutely NOT there for 4 hours. our reservation was at 4pm and we were being asked to leave at 5:30. to say that we were there until 8pm is a flat out fabrication and beyond ridiculous. didn't know how bad customer service could possibly be until i visited pacific catch. made a reservation on mothers days and we were NOT given a time limit. About an hour and a half in, the manager came up to us and asked us why we were still there. God forbid we sit and talk/catch up with family friends at a restaurant. 5 minutes later she walked up to us again and told us our table was closed and they were preparing for dinner reservations. I get that it's not a fancy restaurant but to be actually pushed out just because an hour and a half passed? Instead of taking your stress out on customers, how about you don't book reservations so close together? Cut our dinner shirt and we lost valuable time with our family. Shame on this manager. Where do I begin?! We got the Cabo calamari. The chipotle aioli was delicious!!! The calamari was a little on the oily side but it's fried so it's kind of expected. I got the 2 taco platter, one Cabo shrimp, one hot fish. The lime crema on the shrimp taco was so good (I ate this one first). The only thing I didn't like was that the shrimp/fish was on top of everything, I'm mexican so that threw me off and it made it hard to get a good bite since there was so much cabbage underneath the shrimp/fish. The Hot fish taco was the real star, it was stinkin' amazing!! The chipotle aioli, the fish was plentiful, just amazing. I my tacos with a side of black beans, pico de gallo and chips. Those black beans were the best black beans I've ever had, ever better than what I or my grandma makes at home! My boyfriend got the lobster roll, it was tasty but nothing compared to those tacos. We came again before CAS NightLife for happy hour drinks and food. The food was really good. I ordered the coconut shrimp again, calamari, and crab soup. The calamari wasn't that great. There wasn't a whole lot of flavor to them, but the soup was delicious. I wasn't sure what to expect with a crab soup. It's not a cream soup, and only had 2 nice chunks of crab, but the overall taste was very good. I'd get it again, and I'd probably come back again. However that won't be awhile since I have promised my body it won't be eating seafood for a few weeks. By the time we got home my boyfriend and I got pretty darn sick, and here we are the next day still holed up in bed clutching our stomachs. I don't blame the place, stuff like that happens sometimes. The food really is good, and this was not our first time there. We're thinking it was maybe the calamari, so maybe just becareful with that. read more

Awful service.. we went there to celebrate a birthday with my family and friends and here's what we experienced: - Our waiter messed up our friend's entree 3 times. - We were missing utensils from the moment we sat until our food came: we couldn't start eating until we reminded our waiter to bring utensils. - Our glasses were empty and never refilled unless we requested twice. - When finally ordering dessert, we asked discretely if they could put a candle on the dessert for the birthday boy. Our waiter nodded but when the desserts came, there was no candle. Five minutes later, he was walking by, and upon realizing of the mishap, he barely apologized and disappeared almost immediately. Here's the worse part: we gave our feedback to one of the managers as we were leaving, however, he barely listened: he was rather dismissive and didn't appear to care. I got to be honest, this great neighborhood restaurant we once loved has deteriorated significantly in their service and customer orientation. For the price we pay, it's utterly disappointing. A very nice spot especially during this pandemic. I visited this place March 23rd 2021. They have a big outdoor dining area. I went at night so it made it a little nicer with the lightening that they had. It really had a nice date night feel to it. The food was solid, sorry I didn't take picture of my food. I had the Hawaiian Teriyaki bowl which was very good. I added their Painkiller drink which is an orange cream type drink very tasty and comes in a cool tiki cup so if you wanna be the cool person at the table I suggest this drink! I went with a group of co-workers and one of them said they have visited this place multiple times and we are in the food servicing business as well, so that should say a lot that he loves the place. This place is pretty good for their Asian fusion-like food. I love their poke and fish&chips that they have, as well as their chocolate chip bread pudding! Because it took them a while to bring it out, they gave it to my family and I on the house which was great service on their part. I also tried their thai iced tea (very yummy) and their ceviche. The portions here are big, especially their rice bowl dishes so be prepared to eat a lot! Since I'm the type of person to like variety, I like to eat a wide range of different appetizers as my meal. Dude I'm baked af rn and even I don't think this is good. We got Fish & Chips, ahi tuna poke roll, and "Kim Chee fried rice" and basically the only thing okay was the fried fish. My dog won't even eat the "kim chee fried rice" which is just sushi rice with spicy mayo on it. LOLOL!!!!!!!! I don't even think they fried it so that's fraud up. The roll has ginger in it like who does that. And the fried stuff was soggy on receipt, the fried fish was aite with tartar sauce but the breading is so bland it insults your mouth. 2/5 would not recommend unlike my roommate who says it's his go to date spot. I just got home from a soft reopening dinner at Pacific Catch. It was a limited menu to stress test staff in the kitchen, and the customers that were invited by email, not open to the general public quite yet, received a 75% discount on the bill and the remaining 25% was 100% donated to charity. I found the food to be well prepared. The serving size we're good. I had a yellow tail ceviche and a catch of the Day, grilled salmon with the chimichura sauce. The salmon was spot on cooked correctly. I thought there was probably a little bit too much chimichurra sauce on it but that's just my personal preference. The staff was extremely friendly and seemed to be enjoying the experience of being really busy. My one take away though was that very few if any of staff we're wearing masks. I totally understand that it is not a mandate at this point but just from the standpoint of someone who is rather cautious and concerned about the current wave. I would have felt much more comfortable I had the staff been masked. But to be clear I'm not using that as a determination of anything to do with this review. One of the nice things as well is that when the bill comes you can scan a QR code and pay from your phone rather than wait for your server to collect your card run it and bring it back. I thought that was a nice touch. Hopefully if they keep going in the right direction they'll be up to five stars. read more

This review has some experience behind it because I've eaten here half a dozen times or so -- for some reason, my wife likes this place. Not me. The food is OK, not terrible, but the service is consistently so bad it's almost comical. I have eaten here on multiple occasions where our server basically disappears for the entire meal and we have to walk up to the bar or host table to ask them to come by. Pacific Catch was delicious. I went around 9 pm right before they closed and they accommodate me with a great spot on their patio and their service was phenomenal!! I got the poke bowl and it had fresh vegetables, fish, and the rice was cooked perfectly however, the fish portion was on the smaller side having ordered the large plate. My partner got the steak tacos which are his favorite and they were great! They came with a house made slaw and the meat was cooked just right. All the options here are super fresh - there is a wide variety of poke, fried seafood, soups, etc. On weekends and also Fridays in the evenings this place is usually pretty full, so don't be surprised if you have to wait a bit! My girlfriend and I ate here on a Saturday night at 7:30pm and we could only get outside seating. For our food we ordered 3 different items! There were all pretty good, definitely really fresh and well prepared. The service was alright since it was super busy, but all in all the meal was nice! Coconut Shrimp: A bit pricey for what you get. They give you 8 really delicious fried pieces of shrimp for ~$10. Even for SF standards, this is pretty steep. The playing wasn't too great either - it looked like the shrimp were just thrown on there. However, the taste was really good. Salmon Chowder: Definitely a must-get! The chowder is rich and hearty, and has tons of seafood flavor packed into it! Not too thick or runny, and contained lots of potatoes and vegetables. They were a bit skimpy on the salmon however, only placing 4-5 pieces on top of the chowder. Combination Poke: Honestly, compared to getting poke at a restaurant that specializes in poke, this fell short. The pieces of fish were cut very weirdly, too small and not enough to get a good bite. Second visit here, I usually go to the San Mateo location and think it's better For some reason, the food seems fresher and more flavorful in San Mateo. We started with the calamari appetizer, which was very good. DH had the Mixed Catch, deep fried oysters, fish and coconut shrimp combo, and really liked it. I had the wasabi bowl, 1/2 brown rice and 1/2 mixed greens topped with poke. For some reason, it lacked flavor and the texture of the poke was past its prime. There was zero wasabi flavor. My previous visit, for lunch was ok, not great. After eating at the San Mateo location many times, the menu here seems very familiar but the food does not taste the same. Was able to enjoy some outdoor seating on the Tiki Lounge. Had a lobster roll with fires and a lime in the coconut cocktail. The roll was tasty though disappointing. They tuck the lobster meat in romaine lettuce, so it falls out a little easier, they top with micro greens, radish and avocado. So adding toppings other than lettuce and or butter is an abomination. When I saw the avocado I picked it off right then and there. It was unnecessary but maybe why the roll was $19. The fries were soggy and coldish. I just think they use defrosted fries abs dropped it in a not very warm oil. The cocktail was flavorless, I wasn't looking for too much booze in the afternoon but I did want my drink to not taste like water. My friend and I completed a wonderful day in San Francisco by having dinner at the Pacific Catch in the inner sunset. We began our evening at 4.30 pm with a delightful musical performance at the Concourse in the GG park by Lavay Smith and the Red Hot Skillet lickers. Their songs and band were so good- piano, trombone, trumpet, alto saxophone, saxophone, drums and bass. Every note- perfect. The colors of the stage as the sun set were glorious. We watched the marvelous swing dancers and walked around the fountains to the sound of music. After the concert finished we walked to Pacific Catch and were immediately drawn to the beautiful fire in the front porch. Under the gentle and expert guidance of the wait person- her name is Blue- we quickly arrived at our choices. We ordered Honig Sauvignon blanc wine, and appetizers- edamame, and cauliflower. The edamame were perfectly steamed and had the right amount of sel de fleur. The cauliflower was tender crisp and flavored with a tasty savory sauce-yum. Our mains were fish and chips- delicious with a very crisply coated fish. There is a choice of fries- we had the regular fries. My friend had a poke bowl that she enjoyed. The tuna flavored well, served over a delicious guacamole and the paper thin tortillas were great. Parking was a breeze- plenty of spots in the park close to the restaurant and close to the concourse. This was a beautiful day indeed. read more

I've been to Pacific Catch quit a few times since its conveniently located near my work place, I'm never amazed and feel that the food and service is usually average but quick so I don't mind going every once in a while. However the last two times I went left me with a bad taste in my mouth (literally) and the service was less than par. My friend and I went in recently over the weekend right before the dinner time rush. The restaurant was busy but not packed. We were seated pretty quickly at a table of our choice. After 15 minutes we still never had a waiter come by or anyone bring us waters. I went up to the hostess, who was very pleasant, and asked her kindly if we could have a waiter sent to our table as we were ready to order. Our waiter came by to take our orders and that was the last time we saw him. A little later someone brought out our food, which the fish tasted particularly not fresh that day. My friend wasn't happy with her meal either, we both left without finishing our meals. Our waiter never came by to check on our food or ask us if we were ready for the bill. We had to flag down another waiter to grab the bill and alas thats when we saw our waiter next. Needless to say I will not return again. read more

Three of us went there to celebrate a birthday and we use a coupon for a free bowl for the birthday person. We told the waiter about the coupon and he said that was fine. After the meal, we used our gift card to pay for the balance cost of the meals. At home, we checked the receipt carefully and found the "free" meal was not free and that the free meal cost was deducted from the gift card. We wrote to general manager of Pacific Catch about their error and included copies of the receipts but we never heard back. BEWARE of FREE MEALS from Pacific Catch. They are not free. Ugh, I live nearby and drop in from time to time. The food and drinks are (generally) consistent, but one key thing isn't: the service. Today it took 15 minutes to bring me the water I asked for when I sat down (it arrived with my food). After I ate, it took another 15 minutes for someone to come to the area I was seated in to take my card to pay. No one stopped to check how the food was, to refill the water, or anything. There were babies / young children wailing, so a relaxing meal was out of the question. I had the poke trio, and the two tuna options were good (Not enough Serrano peppers in its namesake dish) but the salmon was kind of oddly chewy. In the past when I've dined at the bar, the bartenders are inattentive. You can finish your drink and they won't be around to ask for a refill until after you're ready to pay and leave. There are better options nearby for sushi or poke bowls. There are better options a bit further away bit still in the Sunset for fish tacos. There are better options for drinks. I won't be back.
