I'm a dedicated advocate of Pacific Catch, as they seem to serve some of the freshest seafood in San Francisco. Their Asian fusion food is pretty well executed; the poke wasabi bowl is one of my favorites! Try the mahi mahi tacos - so good. The sake sake roll is better with brown rice, and comes in eight large pieces. End a date or outing with mochi fondue and you're good to go. Service has been quick and courteous every time I've been there but it is true that the tables could use a little more cleaning. I don't care though, I'm definitely coming back! read more

First and foremost, I do love Pacific Catch and have been going to their locations in SF and Corte Madera for over a decade. Food is always good, fresh and consistent taste and quality. I have recently had bad experiences with take out at the Inner Sunset locations. Twice in two months which is very disappointing. Both times I placed an order online for pickup and went to pick it up. I didn't check one order at the time of pickup (it was late on a Friday and I was wiped out) and got home before realizing we were missing an entree. I called the resaturant - they were apologetic and offered to refund the missing item as well as comp a few more items for the inconvenience. The charge for the full amount went through on my CC and I had to call to follow up on my refund, kept getting directed to a voicemail and left several messages. Sent an email as well. No one ever called me back or responded to my email. This went on for several days until I was FINALLY able to reach someone on the phone, who processed the refund for me. Then again last Thursday night, we decided to order take out instead of cooking. Another long week and thought we'd simplify things by getting dinner out. My husband went to pick up the order and checked it upon pick up. One entree was missing again. He let them know and they told him it would be ready in a few minutes, they were rushing the order. He waited for close to 40 minutes and was asked repeatedly by different people what he was waiting for. All the while, everyone else's food sat there and got cold. By the time we ate, the food had been sitting for over an hour (aside from the one entree that had been just prepared) No offers to comp an item for the added long wait or inconvenience of standing around waiting. I also realized when placing that order that a gift card I received as part of their holiday promotion ($20 for each $100 gift card you purchase) was never loaded with $20 - I input the card information and nothing happens and doesn't apply a credit - so just something else to follow up on due to their oversight... After this last incident, we've decided that we will no longer do take out from Pacific Catch (which is unfortunate since we live close and we enjoy their food) and we will stick to dine in only and take our take-out business to other more consitently dependable establishments. read more

Unfortunately we wanted to love this place, but it was lackluster at best. The service was not great at all, took almost 20 minutes just to get a water and we were told we had to order food/apps when she brought us water since they were low staffed even though we weren't ready to order. Since my first visit to Pacific Catch over three years ago, the restaurant has definitely added more options to the menu. The sandwiches now come with a small coleslaw and a choice of fries (it used to be only coleslaw). And now they have four Pan-Asian rice bowls to choose from: Japanese, Korean, Hawaiian, and Thai (it used to be only Japanese and Hawaiian). I've dined here plenty of times that I can safely say that you can't go wrong with their Japanese wasabi bowl with either poke or ahi tuna! Of the four to choose from, the Japanese one is definitely my favorite because of the seaweed salad and fresh avocado. There's hints of wasabi flavor fused in, yet it's not too strong that I find it unbearable. Also, you can substitute the white rice for brown rice and/or greens for a healthier option. Overall, the restaurant is quite large and spacious. The chairs are very comfy as well. I find the tables are a bit taller at the bar seating area as I have to stretch my torso in order to eat my meal. Service is still hit or miss, depending whether it's peak hours or not. And they have a small, private parking lot -- a great perk to this location over the one in the Marina. read more

We used to eat at Pacific Catch on the Peninsula years ago when they opened and then we moved away. Haven't had it in years but we were very satisfied with our food. Our waiter Genesis, was great, really personable and just a nice guy! We ate in, it was after 1:30pm and we were seated right away near the bar. They had lots of open tables outside as well. We ordered the fresh catch which was a pacific cod in Chimichurri sauce and the asian Brussels and the kimchi fried rice as sides. It was good, although the Brussels sprouts were almost burnt, I left the first layers that were blackened. The sauce was very tasty and the fish well prepared. Could have used a little more sauce. We also had the Westcoast style salad with Tofu. Fresh and plentiful, we added some of the guacamole we had ordered as a starter to the tofu to make it more flavorful. I got the chicken tacos and I thought they were delicious, perfectly seasoned and I got them without cabbage. The fries were possibly the best sweet potato fries I've ever had, served with a spicy chile sauce. Unfortunate my experience wasn't so great. Someone mention you can't mess up the coconut prawns. Not true. Our order has over fried coconut prawns. I also agree that seafood was not fresh. Deep fried cod was definitely frozen. Flavor of both was not there at all. Salmon chowder was so watery. Looks like they fried a few pieces of salmon and tossed into the soup which was that great in my opinion. Did not taste like chowder, but maybe it wasn't supposed to. Fries were also over done and can tell they were sitting around for a while since kind of soft as well as charred. Bottom line, food was disappointing unfortunately. Had higher expectations from a place that looked this nice and pricey. To top it off, waiter asked us to close tab cuz changing shift. Don't know if this is usual policy but would think that any employee should be able to do this. This just left a bad taste in my mouth. I tried the Coconut Shrimp, Turmeric-Tahini Cauliflower, Original Ahi Poke, and the 2 piece Crispy Alaskan Cod with Cajun seasoned fries. Unfortunately, the restaurant was out of Cabo Calamari. This restaurant knows how to fry their food (for the most part)! The shrimp, wonton chips (came with the poke), and Alaskan cod were crispy and crunchy! The fries could have been crispier though. The shrimp came with a sweet chili sauce. The shrimp was cooked just right-they were juicy and had a nice bite. The poke was refreshing and the soft texture contrasted nicely with the crispy and crunchy wonton chips. The last ahi pieces were a little more saltier, probably from sitting in the soy sauce marinate longer at the bottom of the bowl. The cod was served with tartar sauce, coleslaw, and Cajun seasoned fries. The cod wasn't too salty so it needed the tartar sauce. It had a nice firm texture. The coleslaw was good but not remarkable. The Cajun seasoned fries were a bit too salty. The cauliflower tasted a bit like curry but not quite. The red chilies on top added a hint of spice. I had a sip of the Caramelized Pina Colada drink. Today I ate at pacific catch with my mom. We really enjoyed the swift seating from the host and it was a nice ambiance with the late summer thunder roaring In the background. We started our experience with Thai Brussels sprouts & deep fried calamari. The Brussels sprouts were so tangy and had a light sauce that was very complimentary to the broiled Brussels sprouts and the outer crunch from the Char. The calamari was also good, but it could have been improved. The crunch was lackadaisical and the spice level, although wasn't listed as spicy to begin with, was very underwhelming. We wish that they had tossed the calamari in some kind of chili to bring out some spice. The one serving sauce they offer, would be much more enjoyable with variety. Our main entree was a West Coast Salmon Bowl, it was perfectly balanced with grains, leafs & protein. We really enjoyed how the multiple different sauces and dressings intermingled to create a great harmony of flavor. Something about salmon was cooked so perfectly that I could of definitely got one to go - but the meal was so plentiful and feeling. My buddy and his wife were in the city checking out apartments, so I decided to meet up with them for dinner since they were in town. His wife can be kinda picky about food and was craving some fancy fish, so we headed to Pacific Catch. We shared an order of their fried oyster appetizer, which I thought were quite delicious. They were a tad oily, but crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. I got their poke rice bowl with brown rice, and it turned out to be a huge meal. There was a good amount of poke and avo, as well as nori and ginger, as well as a ton of rice. The ratio of rice to everything else was a little high, and I wish that there was a little sauce included because the dish ate kind of dry. Otherwise, it was decent. Service was ok, though not always that attentive. Prices are pretty median for my expectation for a fish restaurant, and quality was pretty good. I've been here a couple of times and I must say they have one of the best happy hour menus! They even give you edamame and goldfish pretzels to snack on! We've tried the Korean sticky ribs, Kona coffee ribs, fried calamari, shrimp ceviche (my favorite), the poke trio with the California, original, and white tuna, the salmon poke, and the spicy tuna sushi roll. The Kona coffee ribs were amazing but I think were only around for a limited time. The sushi rolls were just mediocre, this isn't a sushi joint so I would stay away from the rolls and stick to the poke. The original poke is a little too salty but it's tolerable if you pair with rice, the white tuna poke was a little on the dry side, I would've liked more liquid/lemon on it and it had a really "fishy" taste, the California was probably the best, and the salmon poke was good but a bit on the spicy side. The poke trio also comes with wonton chips, a small salad, and a delicious seaweed salad. For entrees we've had the poke salad (amazing), the Thai curry bowl with salmon (also amazing it was one of the best salmons I've ever had), and the teriyaki bowl with steak. To be honest I would stick to what they know best which is probably fish. The steak was just ok and they weren't very generous with the portions. It was more rice and a whole lot of other stuff on it like pineapples, edamame, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, and A LOT of fried onions. We made reservations through OpenTable for August 14, 2020, 8:30 p.m. After initial confusion about the reservation, we were seated outside at a bar-height table on Lincoln Street, steps from a Muni bus stop. They were kinda busy so that table sufficed, although not ideal. Shortly, that would be confirmed. We ordered drinks. The bar ran out of mint leaves earlier that evening, leaving several drinks out of consideration, namely the lemongrass mojito which is what we both wanted (what rum bar runs out of mint?). We ordered Mai Tais instead. They were good drinks. We ordered our food and it came quickly. The food here is consistently delicious (get the lobster roll) so I'll not go into detail about the food. That's not why I'm writing this review. We were three bites into our food when a man came along. He began rummaging through a trash can next to the street, about 10-15 feet from us. He pulled out glass bottles and began breaking them on the sidewalk, glass shards flying everywhere. He pulled out several bottles and broke them. We were hoping the situation would settle down but it didn't. We were definitely uncomfortable and nervous, but we were astutely aware of what was happening around us. Glass shards ricocheting off the sidewalk is not ok. Staff was aware of the situation and came to check on us. A server asked us if everything is OK. I asked her if security is available. She said she'd take care of it. A few moments later she and another server show up with brooms and began sweeping the sidewalk while confronting the man. Our server arrived with another staff member and offered to move us to another table. We moved to the inner patio. Staff profusely apologized for what had happened. Not long after, we saw police officers talking with the man. Not sure what happened after that, but we hope the man got some help. This restaurant gets five stars. Damn it, they've more than earned it. In our situation described above, the staff reacted in the best way possible. They were calm and it's almost like they "mobilized" some of their staff to ensure we were taken care of and the situation quickly defused. They knew what they were doing and it showed. With friends, we get a booth in the back but when I'm by myself, I sit at a table in the bar section. I almost always order their Salmon Salad..it is so delicious it is my favorite salad in the world. The sauce is what makes it bomb! Can I buy a bottle? Some other notable favorites are the Hawaiian teriyaki rice bowl, fried oysters, pacific crab salad, fish and chips, mahi mahi and steak tacos, and seasoned fries. Finally came here, despite living two blocks away. I thought it was going to be a a place that serves like cooked, whole fish, instead of more poke/hawaiian. My bf got a fish sandwich thing and it seemed pretty good. He also got seasoned fries but they were a tad bit too salty. We also got a sushi roll: some spicy salmon on a california roll kinda thing. We were sitting within 15 minutes, our server & hostess were trying to clear the table as quickly as possible so we could sit down. My boyfriend & I split the calamari, DELISH! Crisped to perfection! They also fry the lemons with the calamari which is a nice touch I have never seen, wish there was another 1/4 of a lemon on the plate to squeeze over, but otherwise, super tasty! I was incredibly impressed with the "regular" size poke bowl. Most poke bowls you buy at the corner shop are right around the same price $16-18, but half the size!! I was full after eating only half! When I first got my dish I accidentally DRENCHED it in vinegar. Kris, from across the patio noticed my reaction and upon my boyfriend asking me what had happened, kris immediately came over and said "she thought it was soy sauce, no worries, I can get you a new one". WOW!! I've never had a server be so attentive and alerted when something went wrong, and it was 100% my fault. This review is for the food/experience not the waiters who were all very nice and clearly understaffed. Long story short: this Pacific Catch stop isn't one you'd want to visit. The ambiance is lacking (fluorescent lights, minimal decor) and the restaurant itself feels very crowded. I know it is San Francisco, but the bathrooms are basically in the kitchen and there isn't any signage to point them out. We had a reservation at 6. We were served our food at 7:30. We ordered appetizers which were brought to the wrong table by the food runner on accident (we watched this happen as we were super hungry and it had been an hour since we ordered them) and the person promptly ate one thus ensuring that was now their dish. That is (somewhat) out of the restaurants control, but they neglected to make it right right away. The staff did apologize, but we waited another 20 minutes for the replacement app...along with our long awaited meals. I ordered the steak ($29) which was pretty pricey and asked it be MEDIUM with some pink. It was a hockey puck. I felt bad saying anything or sending it back, but it was cooked to a crisp. I ended up sending it home with my parents for my dog to eat. There was virtually no flavor and it was tough to even cut. The kimchi rice was good, but would have tasted even better with a properly cooked steak to add in. There were no drink specials on a Sunday and beers/wine are all ~$8+ with cocktails being $11+. My first visit was a few weeks ago for my friends birthday. We went there for lunch. The food was great but it took over 45 minutes for it to come. When we asked if our food was ready the server came right out with it. He didn't apologize for the wait or seem to care. Although it was good, we were not able to enjoy our meal and had to rush back to work. I wrote a feedback to the company and they gave me a complementary entrée. I went back with my friend on Saturday night and it was a much better experience. Our server, Jessie was awesome! He checked in with us and we were very happy with everything. At the 40 minute mark we are still standing outside the restaurant and being told our ticket isn't there. 5 minutes later we got these small containers of poke. I don't know exactly what type of miscommunication happened and between who, but 45 minutes for two small scoops of over priced fish is way too high a price. I had the Vietnamese sandwich and to me it was really good and spicy. Their coleslaw made the meal taste extra good too. Their water was good than some places I've had. On the other hand my grandma had the Salmon salad and it was dry and tasteless. I felt bad for her we had to order her food some where else afterwards. My family and I are long time patron of this place but I'm sad to say we're done. Over the last several visits things have gotten worse and worse. It has become running joke in our house that our kids entree would be forgotten by the waiter as it's happen 4 of the last 5 times we've been here. Tonight while dining here 2 of our entrees came out as something totally different than what we ordered, a third entree was missing french fries and the fourth we had to wait 15 minutes to get ketchup for. Clearly by the time the entrees came out the others where already done. As for food quality there is a clear change in quality as our cerviche was overly salty this time and the fish and chips lacked it's past flavor and moistness. The final issue was the cleanliness and lack of toilet paper and seat covers in the bathroom. To be fair the waitress did comp a beer, an appetizer and a desert. With the remodel what was once a great dining experience is now a high priced failure. To be honest I'm very sorry to see it fall so far as this was a favorite spot for us. read more

We started with Cabo calamari which was made perfect accompanied with Spicy aioli sauce. She knew the menu and answered all my questions about any specials or appitizers, be sure to ask her favorite, she likes the sea bass and shrimp! lol She asked us if we needed anything at the best times, our waters were filled and she was easy to track down and seemed like If I looked her way she would notice and help me when she was free, thats good service.
