Just moved to the area and I figured I would check this place out I walked in being the only customer in the restaurant The host walked out from the back room and I told her it was just myself dinning for lunch She handed me menu and walked away ( wasn't polite ) came back 5 mins later and asked if I was ready Ordered the lunch special sushi with a salad They didn't have coffee so I guessed for ice green tea She gave me a can of Brisk iced lemon tea .. The sushi had way to much rice around it ( reminded me of the sushi they sell at price chopper ) the bottom of the wasabi looked reused because it had chunks of brown coloring. The host came over and instead of asking how the food was she said "all good?" And I said yes She then started taking my plates away So to me she was asking "all good " as in "are you done. Really disappointed

Always super quick and great service! Its probably one of the best sushi places around us! I always enjoy their food! Nice casual vibe! The staff/owners are extremely nice. I will always be a repeat customer! It's easy to miss if you don't know where to go, it's just a small space but man is it good!! I only got veggie rolls but I appreciate how easy they are to eat, I've had veggie rolls that are just wrapped in rice and not neatly rolled which makes them difficult to eat with chopsticks because they fall apart. These are perfect they stay together and you can dunk them in your soy sauce. I've never actually sat down and had any food there, but they have a cute little bar, and other times I've gone in to get my take out it's been packed!

When we walked in, there wasn't anyone at the front, just a counter and a small table with T-shirts for sale. The kitchen is in the back, and the dining area is off to the left. A friendly waitress came out right away and told us to sit wherever we'd like. The dining room is small, but cozy; about 10 tables. There's also bar-style seating at sushi counter with about 5 chairs. Two sushi chefs were working and chatting with customers. Everyone was super nice, and the vibe was great; hip-hop, R&B, and reggaeton playing in the background. Right up my alley lol. Our waitress was very sweet, attentive, and gave us great recommendations. I ordered the Caribbean roll, and it was phenomenal! Definitely one of the best sushi rolls I've ever had. It had a sweet plantain on top and was packed with flavor. I also got a vegetable roll, which was just okay. The place had a chill mix of customers: a family, & some older couples. Overall, great service, good music, and amazing specialty rolls. It's also BYOB (wine and beer only) which is nice. I'll definitely be back to try the ramen next time!

I really hate that Yelp doesn't allow half star increments. The reopened Iron chef is not quite 4…read morestars but it's a bit unfair to give it 3. However, I had to make a choice, given that I've been a bit disappointed twice in a row, 3 it is then. The first visit, I had lunch special Thai eggplants with hot & sour soup. The hot & sour soup was delicious, although it's not the original SiChuan style. It substituted the signature day lily buds to golden needle mushrooms instead. It appears to be the Fuzhou style where the owner & chef are from, nonetheless, it's still very tasty. The Thai eggplants didn't come with any meat. I didn't know it's a vegetarian dish until it's too late, would have preferred to add some beef to it. The flavor was good but it's just too greasy, it sits in a puddle of oil as you can see from the photo. There are ways to make it less greasy but it takes efforts. Efforts take time & time is money, Apparently, this was something not worthy of improving when I brought it up. I kind of understand it but also felt disappointed at the same time. The second lunch visit, i ordered my favorite Japanese dish Unagi Don, I.e. Grilled eel on rice. I was more disappointed than the first time. The eel was barely warm, from the taste & texture, I felt it was precooked & microwaved upon order. The eel sauce was subpar & the slight fishiness further supports my suspension. This is a subpar Unagi Don experience unfortunately. I don't feel so bad now on giving it 3 star. I may return one more time to try out their sushi sashimi offerings, however, not in a any rush & not getting my hopes up either.

Our friends had driven from the Albany area on business, so we didn't want to compromise their ride back with alcohol and we all had a nice cup of green tea ($2) for starters. Izumi's menu may take you a while to get through, because it is quite comprehensive, with soups, salads, hot and cold appetizers. Sushi rolls and sushi entrees, Special sushi rolls, Teriyaki/Katsu/Tempura/Shogayaki and Chef Specials, Hibachi plates, Noodle dishes and soups, and plenty of Bento Box or sushi lunch specials. My wife and I both ordered from their Lunch Specials menu. She had a Tempura Shrimp and Vegetable Bento Box ($14.50). It included a soup (or salad), 4 slices of California roll, two Shumai dumplings, three small vegetables, a big scoop of rice, and the tempuras - two shrimps, an onion ring, a broccoli floret and a sweet potato wedge. My order was a decent sized bowl of vegetable tofu soup ($4.50) and a Two Roll Maki Sushi Special (Salmon and Tuna Avocado) for $12.50. The rolls were appropriately "lunch sized" and were very good.
