Based on the previous reviews I read, I thought I'd have a good experience. Unfortunately, I was wrong. They took their sweet time since I was being charged by the hour and I ended up having to pay $1,853.75 because they turned what should have been no more than a 6-hour job into 10 hours. To make matters worse, I still spent the next morning packing up the refrigerator and remaining items they left in the pantry which they were supposed to do as apart of the move. Details: I was originally quoted $150 per hour, but before the movers started I was told the price would actually be $179 per hour because I booked the service the same day. While I was notified before the job began, the quote I originally received was already for same-day service, and the person I booked with knew I needed the move done immediately which made raising the price in that moment felt unreasonable. Still, I moved forward thinking that it wouldn't be more than 5 hours given the fact I already packed the majority of the house myself. I was sadly mistaken. As I mentioned, the Packman movers were paid hourly, and the team of 3 turned what should have been at most a 5-hour job into a 10-hour job. For perspective, the last time I moved I used a different company that also sent three movers to my same layout -- a two-bedroom, two-bathroom townhome with the same amount of stairs inside and outside the entryway. However, that previous company fully packed my entire home, moved everything to the new house, and reassembled my beds and desk all within 10 hours total. This time, however, I had already packed the majority of the house myself -- all clothing, bathroom items, and most kitchen items. The movers only needed to pack the refrigerator and one remaining pantry with five shelves, wrap furniture, and load the truck. I have multiple pictures as proof of this. Yet somehow it took this team of three men SIX hours just to disassemble two beds and wrap a couch, four small dressers, the dining table, 6 small chairs, two desks, and two office chairs. Nearly everything else was already packed in moving bags and boxes and just needed to be loaded into the truck. By the time they finally brought everything to the new house -- which is only 10 minutes away -- it was after 11 PM and they started at 1:40. They did not reassemble the beds or desks, did not unwrap the furniture, and left boxes and bags scattered throughout the home. They also left doors unlocked at the old home and left the patio door wide open when they left, which is incredibly careless. To make matters worse, the lead mover, Sam, signed the contract on my behalf WITHOUT my consent when the job was finished. I did not notice until after I paid and requested a copy of the receipt. My aunt was present at the time and can confirm this. I called the company the next day after seeing the condition my old place was left in and left a voicemail explaining my concerns, yet no one returned my call. Unfortunately I paid via Zelle so I cannot dispute the charge, but I will be filing a formal complaint regarding this experience. I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to carefully document their move and review their contract before signing. Based on the service I received, I would never recommend this company to anyone else. Truly a nightmare. The price does not match the service, and the overall experience was extremely disappointing. I had booked a move with Packman Moving over a week in advance. It was for a Saturday afternoon move between 1-4pm. When Saturday at 4pm came around, they called me saying that one of their 3 movers didn't show up and that they were just so tired, so they wanted to reschedule. After explaining to them why that's completely unreasonable and unprofessional, they then guaranteed they'd still come, but that it would just be later. They then proceeded to ghost me and never showed up! I was left stranded in my old apartment packed up in boxes on a Saturday evening at 5pm, on the 31st of the month. Luckily I had my unit for another month, but had I not, this would have really put me in a bad position with returning my keys and moving out on time!!! I found other movers last minute and they saved the day. Hours later after my other movers had almost finished the job, Packman movers call, email, and text me, basically insinuating that it was my fault for booking with them last minute and that they'd still come out, it would just be past 7pm. We never leave reviews, but Packman Moving did an amazing job with our long-distance move. They were extremely efficient and responsive, and the pricing was fair for all the hard work they put in. We live on a narrow street, and it was 90-something degrees, but they got it done with no complaints -- very professional. When I initially call to book this service, I explained that this was a 2 bedroom apartment and that I would need a bunk bed disassembled and reassembled. It was suggested that I hire 3 movers so that one could take down the bed while the other 2 movers boxes in order to expedite time. This was not the case, they waited until they were almost finished moving to boxes to take the bed down and it felt like the other 2 movers slowed down. Also, the transport between locations was 24mins I even left 10 mins after them and it still took them 50 mins to get to the location. Maybe they took the street, I'm not sure. Price was fare, the workers did tighten up some lose screws I had on a few things. I just think they pushed the time a bit. Still I appreciate having movers over moving it myself read more

Packman Moving helped move my large items (refrigerator, couch, mattress & bed frame, book shelves and desk chairs) this weekend. Working with them was very easy, and a good value. The rep I worked with to schedule the move was easy to work with and communicative throughout the whole process. We hired two movers, and they got right to work. I had intended to help, but they came prepared and I realized it was best to stay out of their way. They wrapped my furniture and secured it safely in the back of their truck, which made me feel like my items were secured. Like most moving companies, they have a 3 hour minimum, but since there weren't too many items, I expected that to be plenty of time. Our movers were all business, but they were pleasant throughout the experience. I was quite surprised when they were able to complete everything in about 90 minutes from arrival to departure. There is an additional charge for having to take items up the stairs, so keep that in mind if you don't live somewhere with an elevator. We paid in cash, which was a little cheaper than paying via card, which seems to be the standard. I would recommend working with them. read more

Okay moving service. Was asked to write a review on the spot after payment, hence why i changed from 5 star to 3. I asked to write it later but they said they needed it done so they can send picture to boss for bonus. So use caution with other high reviews that are vague. Most affordable one out there. Took 9 hours to move a 1 bedroom 1 office apartment, which I felt was pretty long. I noticed movers would take long breaks times when I wasn't around or was preoccupied with something else. Which is fine, they're human after all but just felt weird to hide it like that. I also left with my bed frame damaged and spring mattress was folded in half for several hours. There was also boxes I wrote fragile one, but they stacked five more boxes on it- luckily nothing broke. I'm also missing a brand new six pack of packing takingI had planned to use for other tasks and little dolly I had ordered. On the positive, most of the time they were pretty quick with everything. There was some issue with getting long couch in narrow hallway, which they made several efforts and eventually got in, was very grateful for that! read more

Great movers, I mean it -- they are great movers.  Probably the best I have ever had. hard workers, very conscientious, and really reasonably priced.  So for that, five stars.   If you can ask for Art, then do it! He was the foreman on my move. His team worked really hard and efficiently under his guidance. They were able to move my 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom in 4 hours total. Their communication was great... asking me throughout the move what boxes went where, and what needed to be moved/packed. They were also very patient, helping me decide which direction.the beds should go.There were no hidden costs. I paid for time only and no extras for boxes, tape and clear wrap. Sam and his team are fabulous! The last time I moved our school library, I said I would never do it again. It is so hard to keep 1000's of books in the proper order and disassemble, move, and reassemble the shelving. This time I hired Sam and his team. They were terrific. I expected them to take from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and they were done by 6:00 pm. They took pictures of everything as they moved it and then put everything back exactly the way it should be.
