Paco's is my go-to spot for birria tacos on the south side of Indy. Their chicken tacos are good too. The only issue I have (and others have mentioned as well) is the packaging of the birria tacos needs to be changed because they end up very soggy and inedible by the time you leave the parking lot. I ask them to package them in separate containers and I pop the containers open in the car so they don't get "steamed" on the way home. That has seemed to help. read more

I asked for extra extra crispy even waited extra time for my food and just to find out it wasn't even crispy! You can even tell in the picture it was not at all crispy. Second time it's happened. Then when I called back and explained it, all she said was we forgot to do it can you bring the food back so we can remake it, after I used up my whole hour for lunch for the food. Won't go back to this location. I'll drive even further at the location on N Keystone. I've never had an issue constantly like this at that location. Now I have to wait 4:30 when I'm off work and can't eat lunch cause it's mushy. Solid taco joint. We went in on Sunday night around 7- not very busy. Quickly ordered and food came out fast. I had the biria tacos, cheese quesadilla, and rice. Biria tacos and cheese quesadilla were solid. Mexican rice didn't have much value for the price- not a lot given for $3. My only complaint was that even though they weren't very busy, the tables were still dirty, and we had to wipe them off before eating. I appreciate the open range to the salsas, onion and cilantro, and lime (I love limes with my tacos). Overall very solid and will definitely return (I unfortunately was so hungry and forgot to take pictures before scrounging it down- only managed to snag a couple pics while walking out). read more

While out of town for an event my brother wanted to go here after seeing something about it so we gave it a try. The place was a small place but not cramped. As soon as you walked in it smelt amazing, my family tried a variety of burritos and quesadillas and all had great flavor and were surprisingly large. The only downside I would give is the chips were unusually cold, not sure if they refrigerate them or had them near a vent but it made them not as enjoy able, I felt I could of got a bag of chips from the store and they would of been warmer. I finally made it over to try Paco's on Thompson. I knew it was going to be good from the line of customers stopping by for carryout orders on a Sunday. I had already researched the menu ahead of time and found my ordering process to be quick and painless. I ordered two entrées and two sides and had to wait about 10 minutes for everything to be ready to go, but that also included packaging everything for the order. I had grabbed some salsas and limes from their little bar in the corner, but it turned out that they had pre-packaged ramekins for the carryout orders which was very thoughtful. Don't forget to grab cutlery and napkins if you need any as none were included in the bag. Today we opted for the elote, carryout guacamole, Pastor torta, and Tacos tapatios. Everything was very fresh and delicious, but we were a little underwhelmed by the size of the servings as we have been to competitors with more robust portions. Altogether the order was about $28 for everything not including the tip which we found to be a little pricey for the amount of food we got, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. read more

I was on my lunch break and wanted tacos or a burrito for lunch and Paco's was the closest place so I decided to give it a try. I placed my order online and ordered a steak burrito which was ready within 10 min. When I arrived to pick up my order there was a lot of people in there and the establishment was very clean. When the server handed me my order I was amazed by the size of the burrito. It could easily feed 3 people. When I took the first bite into it was packed with flavor. I also drizzled some of the orange salsa over it and that enhaced the flavor even more (I recommend getting the orange salsa when you go). I went to Paco's for a late lunch and they never disappoint. They had a special going on to buy two tacos and get the third taco free! I was the only guest, at the time, so I was able to get a personalized experience. The food is always fresh and cooked to order. The establishment is lively and authentic. So I finally got to try Paco's Taqueria. I went to a zoom class where they taught us how to make elotes and have been looking forward to trying the place ever since. I went in and was greeted by the girl at the counter and I told her I did not know what I wanted and she asked if I had been in there before and I said no. So she asked me what I liked and told me what they had and then made a recommendation. I went with her recommendation Tapatios. I have never had them before and she said she liked them with cilantro and onion and asked me if I wanted the same and of course I did! Boy did these hit the spot! The sauce on the side had the perfect amount of heat and the onion and cilantro I highly recommend getting because it surely added to it. Two of them come in an order and it was the perfect amount for me for lunch. The other thing I really liked that they had Coke in glass bottles. I saw they also had beer for purchase. Honestly, there are just so many taco joints around this area that I don't know how these folks make the cut. The fish taco "platter" was a weird and lackluster kit containing bland fish, soggy tortillas, shredded iceberg lettuce, and a few sad pink lumps of tomato. That's IT. I also ordered the shrimp tacos. Same sad tortillas. Flavorless shrimp, a few onions, flecks of green. It was edible, but I really don't recommend it. Paco's has been on my list for awhile since they opened up just down the street from me - but the Yelp Cultura Club event gave me the perfect excuse to finally try it. I ordered the elote kit for 2 for the event, but also tried chips and salsa and churros, because why not? It was super fun to make my own elotes and customize it to my taste - I like a lot of chili powder but my mom likes it plain. As soon as I opened the delivery bag, I was hit with churro smell. I definitely ate those first, before I even tried anything else. A-mazing. The salsa was very fresh, with lots of cilantro and onion, just the way I like it. As soon as we finished eating, my mom asked when we could go back. I texted a picture of my elote cto my brother and he asked when we're going - so I guess this will be a new family favorite. We decided to try it out based on the food reputation and scoring reviews. However, I'm sad to say that nothing could be further from the truth. First-off, at the store, we were really surprised to see that the 2 x Ground Beef Tacos was just two tiny soft taco shells with filling in the one normal sized burger takeaway box. I questioned this with one of the staff members and was told that it was two Tacos. Once we got home and opened the order we were doubly disappointed to see that all tacos, including our 1 x (2) Tacos Tapatios were tiny. An old friend was in town and they requested tacos for dinner. I had heard through the Yelp grapevine that this place had some amazing tacos. Paco's did not disappoint! We all ordered a different combination of tacos and were equally satisfied. I ordered the chorizo, chicken, and beef tacos along with a Mango soda and chips and quac. The staff were pretty busy with takeout orders but got us checked out and food was ready fairly quick. We decided to dine in and the tables were clean and spaced evenly. If you live in or near Beech Grove stop what you were doing and go to Paco 's. They serve the most authentic Mexican food that I have had since I moved here from Albuquerque 15 years ago. Their Carne Asada plate was incredible. It was so good I didn't even have time to take a picture of it. My husband and I thought we'd share it, and that was a mistake! We both wanted to eat the whole thing! We also got the Tacos Tapatios and they were so good! They are like Birria Taco and they come with a side of consumé. They were life changing.
