Service here is very gracious, top-notch hospitality from the moment you check in. Many menu choices in addition to daiky specials. Several in our party ordered the steak special of the day. My other half ordered the Chicken Saltimboco, while I ordered the Chicken Sorrento. They are very accommidating, as I was able to substitute vegetables for the pasta. If you want good quality Italian food than this is the place for you. Had the Clams Casino, Meatballs/Sausage, Salad, and Spumoni. The clams were fresh and portion size was good. The meatballs are always consistent and can't go wrong with spumoni for desert. The price for the quality of food is not cheap but you get what you pay for. Go here for a nice lunch or dinner but plan on spending accordingly. In my opinion, this place is better than other high-end expensive Italian restaurants around Oahu. Paesano's quality of food, service, and ambiance is on par with these other outrageously priced places for a more reasonable price. read more

***late post*** I ate here last week Friday. I called and asked if I need to make a reservation, and was told there was room for my party of 2. It's located in Waimalu Shopping plaza with Safeway and City Mill and there's ample parking spaces. There are 2 separate dining areas: one as you enter and another to the right. You pass the bar as you head towards the second dining area. It's nice and romanticish. Not necessary to be dressy. The service was good: friendly and attentive enough. The food: we ordered Cesar Salad, lasagna and Chicken Paesano and a glass of white wine. The complementary bread was hot and tasty. The Cesar salad tasted homemade but was a tad bit salty, maybe too much anchovies? Idk. My lasagna was just ok because it was missing seasoning and too sweet. The serving was huge for me. The Chicken Paesano was good but the sauce was too watery and not enough noodles. My total bill was $93.04, not including tip. I always wanted to try this place but it wasn't an authentic Italian experience. If you like your Italian food sweet, you won't be disappointed eating here. read more

For my notes: Food was good! Sicilian chicken was very tasty and I tried something new, the chicken pomodori, which I really enjoyed. The chicken piccata was just ok. Happily, nothing was overly garlicky. Service was super attentive and food came out really fast. Check out Paesano in the Waimalu shopping center for lunch today. Actually first time here inside looks very fine dinning looking with table cloth and cloth napkins . I ordered their Shrimp Broccoli Fettuccine which was tasty but on the pricey side. My wife ordered the calamari linguine and the calamari was very soft and breaded nicely . The service was ok and the waitress dropped off our complementary bread . The bread could have been much hotter it was between cold and warm . The butter was on the hard side (cold) so it couldn't melt down in the bread . Paesano offer 2 type of sizes small and large I ordered their small and it was $25.95 . My family was so sad when Paesano in Manoa closed, after decades of celebrating special occasions there. But now we're happy once more, because we have moved our celebrations to Paesano in Aiea! Many of the friendly Manoa staff are working there (including Billy and Nila, the owners of both locations) and the Aiea menu is identical. Last week we ate there for one of our birthdays. As soon as we sat down for dinner, a basket of hot bread and butter arrived. I ordered a glass of wine and the sausages, peppers & potatoes. My table mates had soft drinks and chicken piccata and chicken Parmesan. For dessert, strawberry sorbet and my favorite lychee sorbet. We are all big eaters, but everyone had plenty of leftovers to take home. The service was excellent as usual. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The place was packed and it got pretty noisy, but it was a happy noise coming from groups of friends and families of all ages enjoying good food and good company. My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary. The bread was soooo good and warm. It was absolutely perfect. Calamari was incredibly bland, the marinara was extremely bland as well. It tasted like the bread of a mozzarella stick and that's it. We each only ate one and gave it back. My husband go the chicken Florentine and it was soooo good! Very impressed with the dish. We both got small portions and they were HUGE. We couldn't even eat all of it. I ordered the fettuccine with mushrooms and garlic sauce and I added chicken. It was so bad I only took a couple bites. The sauce was so watery that any time I'd pick up pasta, there was no sauce. Just cooked pasta. The mushrooms weren't fully cooked, the chicken was gray and the sauce did not even taste like garlic. I've frequented the Waimalu Plaza Shopping Center over the last 6 years and have never dined at Paesano until last week! There's tons of free parking which is such a huge plus. Their quiet lighting and actual cloth table dressings immediately made me feel underdressed. But other patrons were dressed the same (shorts and tshirts), while a select few were spruced up. The service was tepid but our water glasses and bread baskets were always filled. The butter for the bread was pretty hard/cold which made for a difficult schmear despite the bread's warmth. We were a party of 6 that they accommodated quickly on a weeknight. Selection is plenty, surely something for everyone, at least in our party. My wife and I ordered their house salad (dressing is amazing!) and shared their generously portioned, large saltimbocca. We even had leftovers! They do have desserts, unfortunately for us, we were all too stuffed to try any. It's definitely one of the more formal restaurants for this particular area with a direct reflection to their prices. Went here this past week for lunch and again, they do not disappoint. Yes it's on a more expensive side to spend on lunch but you get a lot (see pic of the Sicilian Chicken) and the food is fresh and delicious. You get what you pay for and it was well worth it. A great neighborhood restaurant. We went to celebrate a birthday, and everything was well seasoned, hearty portions, and service was efficient, but not rushed. The complimentary bread was warm and crusty served with lots of butter, so slather it on! The starter salads (a chicken and a caesar) were nicely dressed with their respective dressings. We also got the fried calamari which were generous strips, nicely fried and served with a light tomato sauce. A dish of grated parmesan cheese was brought out so that you could dust your entree with as much or as little cheese as you wanted. A much nicer way to put cheese on your food than having a server looming over you. The pasta dishes can be a small or large portion. We all opted for the small portion and none of us finished it. Not because we didn't want to, but because we were full. I got the clams casino with linguini. It was garlicky and loaded with at least a dozen Manila clams, bacon pieces, and basil. The Shrimp with Vegetables, Eggplant Parmesan, and Chicken Piccata were all flavorful as well. The birthday boy got served a complimentary slice of cheesecake and some in the group got the Affogato and Coffee Ice Cream Tartufo. See the pictures on the desserts and my partially eaten entree. (Sorry, I really gotta grab my camera sooner). It is a nice place for a date or a family gathering, or if you are just looking for some good Italian food. One thing, I called to make my reservation and a few days before the reservation day, I called to confirm my reservation. There must have been a miscommunication and they had the wrong number of people in my party. This is the second time I've eaten here, only because my friend wanted to take me out on my birthday, and he asked where I wanted to go, so I suggested the same place as last year since the food was delicious. This restaurant is a bit more upscale, so I can't afford to eat here often, and would only go for special occasions. Seafood pasta with garlic sauce - 5 stars - I ordered a large, but since my friend was treating me for my birthday, I did not remember the prices on the menu, nor took pictures of the menu since I thought it would have been rude to, but I know that it is a little more upscale than your local takeout plate lunch or Buca di Beppo. I had a choice of Marinara or garlic sauce. The seafood (mussels, fish, shrimp, etc.) were fresh and the garlic sauce was perfectly blended with the pasta and seafood. Since I loved it last year, I ordered it again, and it had the same consistency and taste as last year. My friend loves the cheese ravioli, but I did not try it. The birthday cheesecake was delicious and they brought it out with a candle for my friend to sing happy birthday. Service is great, waters filled and a peaceful atmosphere. Easy parking, convenient location. I could compare this this restaurant to Asagio's. Their (free) bread is the same, except this one wasn't as fresh as Asagio's, and their menu was very similar. They had such a big menu, which can be a good or bad thing. It seems like they typically have weekly special menus too. I sadly cannot consume too much gluten, so I ordered salmon dish, which was excellent! We had a big party but the service was still quick and friendly! If you love pasta, I would definitely try this place out! read more

I haven't been here in over ten years, and the place looks so different inside. They expanded their dining room and it is so nice and lit well enough to have ambiance and see your food now. The servers were so great here and so attentive to our table. Waters were filled immediately and they took our drink orders right away. The food here is another place like Assagios, so it's hard to not compare the two. We started with the hot carpaccio at $22.95 and it tasted great here. Their bread is actually better than the other restaurants, because they're bigger so they're fluffier inside and warm and soaked up all the goodness of the hot carpaccio juices. My niece got the pesto and said it was good, and my daughter's fettuccine Alfredo was delicious by her standards too. My uncle had it as well, but with chicken and broccoli and said they put so much chicken in there that he enjoyed it. Grandma got calamari and pasta, and said that even though there was sauce on it she enjoyed there was still crunch on it. I ordered the chicken puttanesca with extra garlic and chili and my dish tasted good. It wasn't as good as I expected it to be since you couldn't tell there was even anchovies in it. It was very tomato forward, and actually over powered the dish if that makes sense even though it's a red sauce dish. My uncle got the surf and turf and said his steak came out perfect medium rare, but didn't care much for the pasta. Overall, everyone said their dinner was good but for the price and smaller portions (even though they were large) were not worth going here over other Italian restaurants we go to. read more

Came in to celebrate a birthday with my friends. It had been a very long since the last time we were here. Upon arrival we were greeted by a nice hostess and was seated right away. We sat and looked at the menu and was greeted by our server for drinks. We ordered lychee martinis which were so yummy and refreshing. We then ordered our entrées: 1. Chicken Alla Saltimboca Romana 2. Chicken Alla Oreganata 3. Scallops & Shrimp Alla Bolla 4. Special Birthday Dessert (vanilla ice cream, strawberries, bananas, strawberry syrup, and whip cream) My friends were happy with the Chicken Alla Oreganata and the Scallops & Shrimp Alla Bolla. They had no complaints and loved the flavor. I on the other hand, I ordered the Chicken Alla Saltimboca Romana which I was not too happy about. I usually order that dish at other Italian restaurants and was so excited that they also had it. First of all, the dish had too much sauce and the flavor was not that great. It has so much sauce that I had to tip the plate to let the sauce run to the bottom. I could not finish my entrée because it was not good. Although my entrée wasn't good, my friends were happy with their food and we also brought them a complimentary ice cream dessert. That was really nice of them to do that. We went for lunch but it has been a hot minute since I've been and I was very disappointed in the food quality. I had the shrimp and scallop Alla bolla and it is no where near the same quality of food. It wasn't as tasty. My son had the mushroom fettuccine with chicken and we both had the same sauce (as the Alla bolla) and his chicken was very dry and no taste. The bread however was warm and fresh with lots of butter. The sauce was a little bland. My husband ordered the Chicken Paesano and told me that his chicken didn't look like it was pan seared and looked more boiled. Overall, both our dishes were okay. Perhaps it was just an off night since it was Valentine's Day and they were very busy. My two toddler boys enjoyed their linguine with marinara as it was very saucy.
