We went to Sky River just to celebrate my husbands birthday at SR Prime Steakhouse! It was a 10/10 from the moment we walked in being greeted by Caleb, wishing my husband happy birthday and a warm welcome. Moving on to dinner from start to finish Manni our amazing server and Olga's warm & friendly demeanor was top notch. Each of them coming to our table at just the right time. The drinks were fabulous, the food was beyond delish and to top it off they even treated my husband to any dessert he wanted from the menu for his birthday - of course Manni suggested the Sticky Toffee Pudding with Maple Pecan Gelato - Yum finished every bite. Had a great experience at SR Prime. The restaurant is located inside the casino, however, it doesn't feel like it. You can't hear any of the noise from the casino while you are dining in the restaurant. They serve bread and butter to start you off. The Yukon Gold Potato Pureé (shareable side) was delicious, very soft and creamy. I had the 7oz filet mignon, with Argentinian Chimichurri, loved it. The restaurant is very nice, modern feel. I went here for Father's Day. My wife had made reservations a week or so ago. The place is on the South side of the casino. Just remember they smoke here and you can smell it. We got there at 5PM and there was a bunch of people outside. I didn't know they open at 5. It was after 5 and there were eight or people waiting outside. Most of us had reservations but a few were hoping to get one but they were turned away as they said they were booked up. We checked in but they still made us wait till all the people were checked in. It was kind of irritating since all the servers and staff were waiting for us at the entrance of the dinning room. I don't know why they made us wait so long. I filmed the bar area and dinning area while my family waited. The first couple got seated by the fireplace inside the bar are. Wow I wouldn't want to be there. It's the bar seating too. Strange , I was getting worried where they would put us. We were lead into the main dinning room. Good!. The room was a nice size with tables and booths. We got a booth. I was disappointed to not see white table clothes on the tables. The table was bare. It isn't as elegant as other steakhouses. There was a special prefix menu for Father's day but I forgot to take a picture of it. It wasn't something I wanted. I had looked at the bar before we were seated and saw what Japanese Whiskeys they had so I got the Yamazaki 12 year. It was nice. $54 I got the ribeye bone in which was $98. It was nice but nothing to write about. It was supposed to be 24oz but looked smaller. Cooked to a medium rare. I didn't think it was worth the price. The flavor was just ok. They asked if i wanted any sauces but they were extra charge. You shouldn't have to have a sauce on a steak at a steakhouse. We had the Market salad and split it. It was nice with peaches and cherries. I liked it. The fruit was fresh and ripe. My daughter got the French onion soup which was pretty good and flavorful. I think it was better than Ruth Chris'. My daughter ordered the Beef bourguignon and that was really good. I think better than the steak I got. My wife and daughter liked it. I would get that again. Oh I added the giant baked potato. It was ok . I didn't like that it wasn't warm inside. probably warmed up from being prepared earlier which sucks. I noticed that the dinning room wasn't even full, yet they turned away several patrons and said they were booked. I guess they don't have enough staff to handle the extra customers. Our sever didn't really check on us much and after he first came up to us he was busy talking to another server for a long while I had to waive him over. My daughter had gotten hot water and he didn't ask to refill it until the end of the meal. The service was not like other steakhouses. Not really up to speed. The manager was right to turn away other customers since they couldn't handle the ones they did have. I knew this steakhouse received bad reviews when it opened and I thought it would be different and nicer by now. It is just ok. Not amazing that I had to go there for the steaks. I was disappointed. Wilson which I believe was front of house manager came by a few times checking on us, Wilson has what it takes to work the best restaurants in the world. Wilson brings charm and class. Blistered Shishito Pepper Very large appetizer. They were delicious. There were red rings of some pepper, to hot for me. Rate 5 18 oz Ribeye Center Cut I love a good sirloin and filet. My honey loves ribeye this is what she ordered. This was a thick cut and was cooked perfectly medium rare as all good steaks should be. This is the best ribeye I have ever tasted. Rate 5 Seabass So tender cooked perfectly and tasty. Sauce supreme was very good. Sat on a bed of grilled cabbage, not for my palet. I think sitting on a bed of rice would be better. Rate 4.5 Yukon Gold Potato Puree Yukon golds are my favorite. This is a sharable dish. So damn good u could taste the butter and cream. Rate 5 Plating Just beautiful. These chefs have pride. I've dined here several times, and the food and service have been consistently good on every visit. One of my favorite things is their bread and butter -- the bread is incredibly soft and delicious. The iceberg wedge salad is huge and easily shareable between three people. It's light and refreshing. On my most recent visit, I ordered the seared scallops, which came with four generously sized scallops, maitake mushrooms, kale, parsnip purée, smoked hazelnut, and pancetta crumble. The scallops and mushrooms were excellent, but the parsnip purée was a little too sweet for my taste, and the kale leaned slightly bitter. Aside from that, I really enjoyed the dish overall. I also tried the bananas foster for the first time, and our server, Tamika, prepared it tableside for us. It was delicious -- sweet without being overpowering, especially paired with the cheesecake. Tamika was incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout the meal. The steakhouse itself is spacious, though getting into the booths can be a little awkward unless you're seated at the end. Service was great! Our waitress Tamika was so sweet and paid such great attention. We ordered the candied bacon and the baby iceberg in which Tamika split the salad into 3 servings for us to share because we knew we would be too full for the rest of our meal.. the candied bacon was delicious! Came here to celebrate my birthday and SR Prime made it feel like a proper occasion from start to finish. We started off with cocktails, French onion soup, spinach dip, and shishito peppers. Everything was flavorful and perfect for sharing while enjoying the atmosphere. For the main event, we ordered the tomahawk steak, which they presented and sliced tableside. Visited the Sky River Casino today and loved it! After playing some slots we decided to try the steak house. RS Prime steakhouse was the most delicious steak house we have eaten at since moving into this area 3 years ago. The ribeye steak was perfect and savory. Cooked to perfection! The Caesar salad and bread and butter or just amazing. We also tried the lobster cheese cavatappi and Brussel sprouts and were super delighted with the amazing flavors and textures. I think my husband just really enjoyed the butter squash soup. He said it was divine. The decor was amazing and the restaurant looked beautiful and clean. Our server was the best! My cousins and I went Friday night and Isaac was our server. He was attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and made the evening fun. However, our drinks weren't on point. The lemon drops were way too sweet and the dirty martinis weren't so dirty, so I asked for a side of olive juice. We were honestly not too sure what to expect going into SR Prime Steakhouse since it is part of Sky River Casino. That hesitation disappeared almost immediately. The dining room is very nice and refined without feeling over the top like many casino restaurants tend to be. The meal itself was fantastic and made for a great overall experience. The service was excellent throughout the evening attentive polished and genuinely welcoming. We started with the oysters which were excellent and fresh and followed with the lump crab cake which was easily the best we have had in the area. It was generous flavorful and perfectly prepared. We split the wedge salad which was large enough for sharing though it was very average compared to the rest of the meal. For the main course we ordered the Filet and the dry aged New York strip and both were outstanding. They were cooked beautifully seasoned well and full of flavor. Without hesitation these were some of the best steaks we have had in the Sacramento area. For sides we ordered the Brussels sprouts and wild mushrooms. The Brussels sprouts were toasted nicely generous in portion and full of flavor. The wild mushrooms were excellent earthy well prepared and a perfect complement to the steaks. It truly exceeded our expectations. From the atmosphere to the service to the food it delivered a memorable and satisfying dining experience. I've never really had a long wait and usually if tables are full you can find a spot at the bar. This particular visit was to celebrate my birthday and they set the table up with cute "happy birthday" confetti! Apps: Fritto misto: 4/5 fried egg plant, bell pepper, calamari & zucchini. The calamari was small and rubbery Shrimp cocktail 5/5- big, fresh, clean and refreshing! Ribeye- 5/5 ordered medium well. Cooked perfectly! Flavor was good without the addition of chimichurri or garlic butter. Brussels-4/5 usually really good to my taste buds but for some reason it was on the sweeter side. Not a bad thing just not to my liking. But they were still decent Mushrooms: 5/5 i liked the flavor but considering I'm the only one that eats mushrooms i should have thought about the portion that would go uneaten before ordering lol. It's a lot Lobster Mac-4/5 creamy, nice chunks of lobster, good share portion. I'm just not a fan of the rosemary flavor on it. It's still very good! Bacon mashed potatoes -could do without the bacon and cheese. Asparagus -standard, lobster Mac & cheese were overpriced and ok. Crab cakes were nice. Wow what a great steakhouse! Top of the line dining inside Sacramento's newest premier casino. Had my first, of many, visits to SR Prime Steakhouse Friday night with some friends. We were immediately asked what drinks we'd like. Went with coffee and water. The coffee here was tremendous! Creamer and sugar of course. We were brought bread with a creamy butter while we browsed the menu. The inside of the steakhouse is super nice and you'd have no idea it was inside a casino if it weren't for the clear windows showing the slots. I was really pleased with the service here. We had a main server who did a beautiful job taking care of us but also other workers kept coming by and checking on our drinks and any other needs we had. I like the attention to customers here. Went with the French fries and the boneless ribeye steak. Both were delicious. Steak cooked to perfection and the fries were some of the best I've ever had. I had heard about a new steakhouse @ Sky River Casino in El Grove, CA and decided to try it out Saturday evening. The Hostess was very kind and accommodating. Even though I was dining in an upscale restaurant and dressed in sweat pants, a 49'ers jersey, cap and tennis shoes, she walked me to my table in a beautiful dining room without a reservation. She left me with a menu and once again welcomed me to SR Prime Steakhouse. The menu had so many choices for appetizers, sides, entrees and desserts. Plus the wine list and the bar menu was equally impressive with anything a five star restaurant would offer. Once comfortable in my seat, I was first met with an individual whom I thought was my waiter asking if I needed a beverage, poured me a glass of water and asked if I would like some bread? The dapper young man then said my waiter would be with me shortly. Shortly thereafter, my waiter arrived and introduced himself very politely. He then asked if I had an idea what I wanted to order, he made some suggestions and I made my decision. I ordered French onion soup to begin with and a New York Strip with puréed mashed potatoes. Soon after my bread arrived with a kind older gentleman with a vibrant smile whom also was welcoming and respectful. The bread and what looked like crackers but with an elegant twist was accompanied by a generous portion of white butter. This would prove to be my Aquiles heel due to the superb taste the combination offered my pallet. Then my waiter reappeared with the French onion soup which was excellent. With perfect timing my main course arrived and I was not disappointed. My steak was perfectly prepared, the mashed potatoes were exquisite and in all honesty, top three culinary experiences of my 58 years on our planet. Now to the question most people are thinking of, how was the price? As a man who has travelled extensively throughout the world, if you can't afford to splurge or have no desire to do so then you will find the experience a bit expensive. I myself felt it was quite reasonable considering all the variables. In total I spent $150 American currency, including 20% gratuity. In my opinion, SR Prime Steakhouse gets 5 stars based on all variables aforementioned. read more

Glacia was one of the best severs I have experienced in over 40 years. Request her when coming she works nights. The new manager Caleb stopped by and we had a discussion and it was great, so far this is the best and friendliest spot I have been. This is a go to when you come to Sacramento, although it is in a casino it should be a 5 star restaurant and will follow up on consistency. From what I see it at least a 1 star Michelin experience. Let's talk food- I had the parmesan fries, French onion soup, and sea bass. Others in our group had the steaks. The fries were fantastic just the right crispness and good amount of cheese. The French onion soup was really good and I'd definitely recommend it. The sea bass was good but the sauce with it wasn't that flavorful yet i still enjoyed the fish. 2/5 -- Slow Service Overshadowed Everything We visited SR Prime Steakhouse on a Tuesday night and unfortunately the experience fell far below expectations. We had 6:00 PM reservations and were seated promptly at 6:05, but that's where the efficiency ended. Our drink order wasn't taken until 6:15, drinks arrived at 6:30, and our food order was taken at the same time. It took 45 minutes just to receive our salad, and another 30 minutes before the first entrée hit the table. For a not‑so-busy Tuesday, the pace was surprisingly slow. The busboy seemed to be responsible for four tables--about twenty people--and the service lag really showed. Everything took far too long for the price point. As for the food: - Food quality: 6/10 - Presentation: 5/10 - Ambiance & décor: 8/10 (the fire encased in glass was a nice touch) - The bread board with the edible printed butter logo was unique and appreciated. Best steak in Sacramento!!! I put this up against Rudy's Hideaway, Morton's, Ruth Criss and Cattleman's! It may seem pricey to some but more than worth it!! I got a "Yellowstone" which is an Old Fasioned that comes in a smoke box and it was the Best I've ever had! The bone marrow appetizer and crab cakes were exquisite but the raw oysters stole the appetizer show!! Plump, fresh and juicy!! We could have eaten another dozen!!! The main courses: Wife's lamb chops were cooked to perfection, full of flavor and nice bite off the bone!! My ribeye was to die for!! I got the garlic butter and lump crab meat on top for a little extra fee but more than worth it!! Perfectly cooked medium steak and excellent sear! Service was amazing. A little slow for an empty Sunday evening but their smiles and positive attitudes compensated!!! We will definitely be back!!!! read more

Went to SR Prime Steakhouse for a date night and the ambiance was stunning dimly lit to perfection, with elegant, extravagant décor that made the whole place feel upscale but still cozy. It wasn't crowded, which made it even better for a relaxed, romantic evening. Our server was amazing, so kind, attentive, and really elevated the experience!! As for the food, I absolutely loved the lobster mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and my steak, everything was rich, flavorful, and hit the spot. My drink (wish I remembered the name) was beautifully presented and just the right amount of sweet. It's not my absolute favorite steakhouse, but I would 100% come back. My boyfriend didn't love the sides (he's a pickier eater) but I was a fan of it all. Perfect for a special date night; chic, cozy, and delicious!!! read more

Chris, Thank you for making our 18th Anniversary so special! We had a fantastic meal and exceptional service tonight while dining for our anniversary. We enjoyed the filet mignon, scallops, baked potato and asparagus, all accompanied by the Justin Cabernet. To finish our wonderful dining experience, we had the table side banana cheese cake which was absolutely amazing as well. The presentation and flavors were everything we wanted. We are so happy to have the fine dining offered in Elk Grove and at Sky River Casino. I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

Came to celebrate a special occasion and was wowed! They truly went above and beyond even some small decorations on the table to celebrate us! The service is impeccable from start to finish! The wagyu was flavorful and just melts in your mouth! The ribeye was soft and cut like butter, the potato purée and creamed spinach complimented it nicely! Oooh this place broke our wallets lol First time coming here for a celebration and we really enjoyed ourselves! Our waitress was so kind, patience and attentive. We ordered for starters a charcuterie board and bread and butter. Bread was super soft! Then for drinks, everyone chose their ideal drinks from scotch, whiskey, martini, Gotham (video) and IPA. Then a few minutes later, around food came! Yay! Forgot to take a picture of my Caesar Salad! The salad was tasty, nothing to rave about BUT the protein..omg that NEW YORK STEAK. You would have thought it was the tomahawk but nope! The New York was the winner. Prefect medium rare, red, flavorful and juicy. The Seared Scallop was pretty good, but the middle was somewhat cold... they were huge though! Regarding the tomahawk, it was somewhat dry...Parts were super well done and not as flavorful compared to the NY Steak. The interior was very beautiful. High ceiling with just the prefect lighting. Overall, I'd go back for the NY steak. It was delicious and very little effort to chew. Take my money for real. Lol read more

My wife and I decided to try this place out for our "Christmas" dinner, really it was the Sunday before Christmas, as she had to work Christmas day. We were dressed to the nines having come from a party and had reservations and walking through the casino I was treated like I worked there, was kinda cool. We were greeted promptly at the steakhouse by the hostess upon entering and decided to wait a bit in the lounge with some cocktails. I had an Old Fashioned which was perfectly made. We were then escorted to our table by the very friendly waiter. Bread was brought out and was delicious. I ordered an old vine zin and we ordered appetizers. I got the bone marrow and my wife had the baby iceberg salad. The salad was big enough to share, served with a blue cheese dressing, bacon and pickled onions it was very good. The bone marrow was small but spectacular. Served with some toasted bread, I was in umami heaven. For mains we ordered the 30oz bone-in dry-aged ribeye, medium rare. It was perfectly cooked and came with a bit of marrow which melted on the plate and made every bite amazing. For sides we ordered brussel sprouts and cream spinach. Both were excellent accompaniment for the steak. For dessert we chose the tiramisu which was large enough to share, and well priced for what we got. Our bill was what was expected for a high-end steak house. About the same as Flemings in San Jose, but less than a Ruth's Chris. We really enjoyed the meal and stopped next door at the Humidor for after dinner drinks and cigars. All-in-all an amazing night and a great time at Prime Steakhouse. read more

As the hostess led us down the narrow aisle to our table, two employees were standing on either side chatting. When they saw us approaching, neither stepped aside, creating an awkward squeeze in an already tight space. Strike one. We were the only party in the dining room, yet we were seated at the corner table beside the water refill station. Throughout the meal, staff repeatedly came to our table to grab bottles for other guests' glasses. Strike two. My sea bass arrived tragically overcooked--not delicately crisp, but so dry I could tap the skin with my knife and hear an actual thud. I had no choice but to send it back. At $50, I wasn't expecting perfection--but I was expecting it to at least be edible. Strike three. To make matters worse, gnats hovered around our table the entire evening. Strike four. The appetizers and steak were fine, but at those prices, "fine" simply isn't enough. The space itself is beautiful--high ceilings and warm, thoughtfully curated décor that promise a special experience. Our servers were gracious, and I genuinely enjoyed my wine. Unfortunately, ambiance and kindness can't fully compensate for everything else. Regrettably, it's not enough to bring us back. read more
