Food pretty good, too bad entertainment space is non-existant. Went for dinner and had dancers and band breathing over our plates.. Yes, they have a dining room which is ok, but if you want to eat at tables set up in bar area and enjoy view, forget it. Understand they have huge empty space above the dining hall. Why not use it? Too many other options now where you can hear your favourite bands, eat dinner and still be able to breathe and enjoy the view. Too bad. My wife and I went to Pagano's Uva Restaurant for dinner since we had a Groupon. My wife and I ordered Chicken Siciliarian and the GodFather pizza. We received the entrees quickly and we were pleased about the portions of the pizza and the chicken. The chicken was moist and the toppings on top of the meat were good. I wish I coudl say the same for the GodFather pizza. It was not appetizing as it was very salty. We noticed that the pizza had oil cured olives instead of the promised Kalamata olives listed on the menu. The oil cured olives added excessive saltiness to the pizza that was already salty with the pesto oil and the sausage. We waited a long time for the waiter to come back (the restaurant was only serving 4 tables at 7pm so it wasn't busy at all). After a while, we had to get his attention so he could attend our taable. We notified the waiter if these were oil cured olives which was not on the menu. He checked with the kitchen staff and came back confirming that we were right. The worst part was that he didn't ask us if we were dissatisfied with the change of olives. He left and we were disappointed that our opinion wasn't requested as we told him that the pizza was not good. My wife and I wouldn't come back here again, even if there was another groupon. We would have been more happy to order pizza from Pizza on Main, which was 2 restaurants down the street! read more

$5 Brunch $4 Bloody Marys $3 Mimosas From 9am to 1pm. What can you say you cant beat that at all you know. But you def. get a value of a $5 brunch. They have from ricotta pancakes, traditional omelets, slices of steak and eggs , fruit cup, oatmeal and some other little breakfast entrees. With the breakfast you get a small order of home fries and i mean theres prob. like 4 pieces to it. You can order toast if you like but if you wanted bacon, sausage or extra bread you had to pay for it. For a small brunch it was not that bad but it was not filling at all. But this was a last minute place me and my close friends came too because "buttered biscuit" was over an hour wait and I wish we stood there cause by the time the one waitress came who was working and took our orders and got our food we could of just waited it out at the other place. The waitress was taking orders, doing the bar and serving the food. Talk about not good management there, she was def. working over her limit and had a couple of tables also to attend too. Our waitress, Erica was adorable and charming . She said it was her first night. But I didn't believe she never served before . I took my wife out for her birthday this past Saturday night. We have been going to Uva for 15 years since they were Pagano's by the ocean. Never had a problem till this visit. My wife ordered the Zuppe De Pesce, a dish she almost always orders. This time the shrimp was so tough she couldn't even cut it. We both took a bite and spit it out. In the past the clams were either littleneck or manila clams. This time they were cockles so small and overcooked they looked like they popped of someone's nose. In addition the pasta was cold. The waiter apologized and said he would take it off the bill. The owner came over and said she would take it off the bill, but she tasted it and it was fine. Really? First of all at $30 a plate it should be more than "fine". Second of all it would not have been sent back if it was "fine". No apology, our opinion didn't matter. Will not be returning. We will now go to Fratello's in Sea Girt where the customers really matter and the staff and owner care about what you think of their food and service. read more

Private Party. If you are having a private party be careful when they come back with the final count. I had more people come to the shower than RSVP'd. When the bill came in the number of guests was 65. When I asked how they figured it she said she counted as they came in. What should have been done was a count while everyone was eating. At the party we agreed on 62 but when I got home and figured it out it was actually 59. They tried to overcharge me by 6 people and in the end overcharged me by 3. When I brought this to their attention I got a lecture on how important it was to give accurate numbers and what I should do in the future instead of I'm sorry for the error. Also the wait staff didn't make the experience a pleasant one. read more

This is a great place. We went on a Friday night at around 5pm and there was a good crowd. Friendly service and excellent food. The pizza was top shelf. We did have to wait a bit longer for it, but it was worth it. The shrimp dish was also very well done. We will certainly return. Only minor drawbacks were the booths we sat in were very uncomfortable and the person behind us moved frequently. Also, the delay in serving food ( which was almost 30 minutes) was ok since the food was worth the wait, but we should have been given water while we waited and I would have liked another glass of wine. We had our wedding reception of 60 people in the upstairs room. Anthony was very nice and extremely easy to work with. Everyone commented on how delicious the food was! We opted for the buffet and everything was very good. The room was also very spacious and set up nicely. Plenty of room for tables, dj set up, and dance floor. I dropped my centerpieces and decorations off the day before and they were set up just the way I described. Their happy hour food is very good and inexpensive along with their drinks. If you go after happy hour the house wine is not a bad price. However the food is very, very expensive. There was a veal option on the menu that was $45. The atmosphere there is nice, but it is very pricey. For happy hour though the food is very reasonably price and it's excellent. Some of the best food in the area. Always a good crowd, even off season, so you know that they are doing something right. We sat in the Bar area where they had live entertainment on Sat. night. Nice touch! My wife and I had specials that were not on the menu and really enjoyed everything. A little pricey, but they do offer Groupons or other discounts if you look for them. Not sure why people give bad reviews. My girlfriend and I sat outside and got great service. I had the bolognese with home made pasta which was superb and I'm a tough judge on sauces. Came here last night (groupon) with my girlfriend, it was her birthday so I had made reservations with a special request of bringing over a slice of cheese cake with a candle at the end of our dinner. I was blown away at how nice the staff was at accommodating the whole thing. The food was excellent. We had the lamb chops and filet mignon. The desert was delicious too. We had the Italian cheese cake which was brought over at the tune of happy birthday. I will definitely be back! read more

This place fills up with locals all year round and it's understandable why: good food at good prices served by a very friendly staff. While it can be a hectic environment (because it often gets pretty busy), it's still a warm and inviting establishment. It's split into two sections, one with tables by the bar and one section that's more like a restaurant. The restaurant is usually less crowded. The bar area often provides live music by enthusiastic and talented musicians. They serve a limited bar menu with delicious $5 plates during Happy Hour where you can fill up on 2 small dishes (and drinks) at a great value. Their pizza is very tasty. My daughter had her wedding rehearsal dinner at Pagano's mid-September. The food was very good. The service was also good. Anthony was wonderful to work with. He was extremely understanding when we had to change our plans several times. He accommodated us at each turn and I would recommend him to anyone seeking to host an important life event. Have been to Pagano's Uva (I call it Uvas) many times, more so late afternoon to evening and have never had a bad experience. Their $5.00 bar menu is amazing! I always get the eggplant sliders and instead of the white rolls they are served with, I get the warm, sourdough bread on the side which is served with an olive oil dip. It is the best eggplant I have ever had and I am a foodie for sure. I have also had the calamari (just the rings) tossed in your choice of flavors. Excellent. The Bartender Kevin is wonderful. Working the packed bar alone, he took the time to ask if I wanted the calamari tossed and I also asked for the rings only. I prefer having foods tossed but did know it was an option. You simply cannot beat the $5.00 menu which ends at 7 p.m. The food is excellent. Live music from engaging bands who ask the guests if they have any requests. Highly recommend. read more

I have never in my entire life had the worse service as I did August 25, 2018, we sat and waited and waited some more until I went looking for the waitress once she arrived and began taking our order we questioned some choices from the menu and could not answer questions pertaining to menu. Once food was brought to table I could see my stuffed lobster did not have the crabmeat just a bread stuffing..it was dry and one claw missing I would have sent back but then again I did not have the energy to seek and search for the waitress..no she never returned to table to ask if we needed even a drink refill..managment should be ashamed..never will I recommend this establishment read more

This restaurant is wonderful! Truly authentic. We have been there for 2 lunches and one Sunday evening and it never disappoints. Their salads were great and their sausage, meatballs , and sauce were perfect. Our family spends much time in Italy and my son owns a farm in Sicily, and I can say without a doubt, the food here is great Italian food with good prices. It is a gem at the shore where most of the restaurants are mediocre at best. We have had homes there for over 50 years and are always disappointed. We love pagano's!!! read more

Traveled from Staten Island to celebrate my birthday here and let me tell you it was worth every minute of it. The food was AMAZING!!!!! seriously, so good. Baby clams- out of this world, and the Garlic shrimp was perfect. For my entree I had the trio (veal, shrimp and chicken parm)..my mouth is watering just talking about it! In a word horrible. We called ahead and got a reservation for 9. When we arrived we were not hinted that they were way back upped. They were clearly not prepared for the night after placing our food order and waiting for an hr and 45 min we got the one salad that was ordered. We did not receive our appetizer or any of our 4 kids meals we had placed. I can live with not eating, but when my 2 yr old and 5 yr and their cousins have nothing to eat I have a problem. After speaking to manager we were told you can leave. What amazing customer service! So we left and our 4 children had nothing to eat. Why take a reservation and seat other people if you have no staffing to be able to handle it? In addition at no time were we alerted to the problems they were having even though we had 4 children with us. Sad. read more

OMG, it just keeps getting better every time we go!! Just got home and had to send this out.Hubby and I have been going for years, just because it never disappoints. Had the most amazing lamb chops tonite, the most flavorful and tender ones I've ever eaten. Hubby had his usual, giant veal chop, and actually finished it. He was full, but it was that good. I dined at Uva on Friday, Oct. 20. The service and wine were good, but not my entree. I ordered the vegetarian dish Rigatoni Norma, and for some reason, it had some kind of meat taste, like a pork sauce? It was gross. I'm a vegetarian. I should have sent it back. They should be careful what they serve as many people have allergies. I'll make sure to speak up if that ever happens again. The restaurant is very overpriced as well. I wish I could leave zero stars. I purchased a a gift certificate for this place from a gift certificate website. My family and I went in for lunch, and after we received the bill were told by the rude staff that we could not use the gift certificate. The terms of service, copied directly from the certificate, are as follows: "Minimum purchase of $35. Excludes Sat. Excludes: Holidays/Special Events, Other Offers/Promotions." No where in the instructions goes it say "excludes lunch." The server, who seemed to be a manager, not only raised his voice to me, but he argued with me saying that all lunches were specials. That makes no sense as we ordered off of their normal lunch menu. I left feeling disgusted, cheated and violated. They turned a very nice family outing into a fiasco. Do yourself a favor and support restaurants that respect their customers, not this place which not only cheats their patrons but disrespects them. read more

OK, but ... Dined there with friends that live a little over a block away from the restaurant. Our only adverse comment is that my wife's dish of steamed mussels in tomato sauce was a little "long in the tooth". Growing up on the Jersey shore, I used to gather mussels and know when they are well past their "prime" (Your sense of smell is your best indicator). A member of the wait staff (not our waiter) challenged me by saying that they were absolutely fresh that morning. I suggested (very calmly) that though UVA got them that morning, their distributor (I used to work for one in high school) perhaps had them in storage for quite a while before delivering them to UVA. She insisted that nothing was "wrong" and did not offer any other choices. Aside from that incident, the rest of our meals were excellent and a good experience. It is sad that just one such unpleasant encounter overshadows a nice evening. read more
