My wife and came here for dinner Saturday night and were seated immediately. No wait time. The staff was very friendly and service here was decently quick for the restaurant being about half full. Food came out hot and everything was tasty and delicious. You really cant go wrong with what you select but for a party of 2 I would suggest just getting a noodle plate with a meat dish to share. Also if you cant handle spicy then I would definitely steer away from anything tagged as spicy because they definitely were. Not just the mild spiciness that other places may feel like. This restaurant is in the corner of the parking lot. It seems like a smaller restaurant. The parking lot is small but parking isn't horrendous, still able to find parking. I ordered sweet and sour pork, seafood noodles soup and black bean noodles. The prices were reasonable but not outrageously cheap or expensive either. I did phone order for to go, pretty quick and easy service. I arrived and my order was ready for picked up. This was for weekday lunch service. Black bean noodles was good. Came for a quick dinner and got a simple jajangmyeon with black bean sauce, pork and veggies. It came with a small dish of pickled radish. The noodles itself were really thick and chewy and really well cooked. The black bean sauce was pretty good and I liked how they gave a lot to cover all of the noodles and more. it was slightly sweet and covered all the veggies and meat which were in extremely small pieces. Not sure what happened to Paik's Noodle. The first one took a long time to open during the Pandemic. Apparently the present day Paik's is new with almost a similar menu. The infrastructure has not changed at all. We went in for a quick lunch and ordered two items their signature jajanmyeon and seafood jjamppong. Both were good. Been coming here to get my jjajangmeon or noodles with black bean sauce since they opened. Nothing fancy, just a place to go when hangry. Portions are huge, definitely value for the money. Really like that they added the version with extra meat. Also liked how generous they are with the sauce. Often order a side of noodles to take home with the leftovers. Enough for a snack or midnight raid of fridge. The sweet and sour pork or chicken could be better. Appreciate the separate servings of meat and sauce. Keeps the batter on the meat crispy. But do wish the batter was lighter. Place is spotless. Staff are very efficient and make eye contact. Will promptly fulfill requests. Truthfully no need to ask as 90% of the time they correctly anticipate any need. While they don't rush you out, this isn't a place to linger. Place gets busy, crowded and loud. Not really conducive to relaxing. Sat down at about 11:30 am today (Saturday) with only 3 other tables occupied. It was a big upset eating here because it was not as good as the experience I had at the Santa Clara location. It was completely different for the chili shrimp. It tasted like they stored it in plastic too long and I barely had the taste of how it was another time. I tried a taste of one of the jjampong and also seemed diluted. I almost stopped eating because of how upset I was and just forced myself because of how expensive it is. $20. Rice wasn't that great either for $2.25. Best thing was the water and the new cups. Parking is okay but seems a little hard if busy. Customer service was good. I don't know what went wrong, but I definitely wouldn't come back if this was my first time going. read more

I wish I could give this place a better review, but unfortunately, our experience was awful. We dined here recently, and later that day, some of us became extremely sick with what was clearly food poisoning. The food seemed fine at first, but something was definitely off. Whether it was improper food handling, spoiled ingredients, or cross-contamination, we're not sure--but the end result was a miserable night of stomach pain, nausea, and everything else that comes with food poisoning. I highly recommend the management take food safety more seriously. Until they do, we won't be coming back and would warn others to be cautious before dining here. read more

I am actually a frequent flier at the restaurant in Santa Clara, I discovered this one by accident. The place was not very busy for a Saturday evening so I ordered my usual "Jjamppong" and "Tang Su Yuk" paired with a Large "Asahi" . The food came to m,y table nice and hot. The waiter was very nice a younger gentleman but very respectful and as I expected the food was EXCELLENT. There was a pleasant atmosphere of K-POP music playing in the back ground, I found this to be very relaxing. I continued to eat my meal and the restaurant started to get a little more busy. A young family sat right next to me and they were very nice as well the children were very well behaved so I was able to enjoy the rest of my meal. Food is ok if you want to satisfy your cravings. Jajangmyeon sauce could be a little thicker and have more meat. The flavor is good, just wish it could be more incorporated with the noodle. Spicy chicken is flavorful and has a nice crunch. It is super crispy as batter is thicker than usual. But it is not hard to bite or chew as the sauce make it a bit soft. Service is great, though it seemed they need extra hands and helper as there were many empty tables with dirty plates that need cleaning. One of my friends really wanted to try Paik's Noodle for their Jajangmyeon. We were not sure if they were still opened or not because on my Yelp, it had the error / warning: 'Yelpers report this location has closed. Find a similar spot.' While according to Google and their ordering platform(s), they were still open and taking orders, so I called them up, and lo and behold, someone answered and they were still opened. Anyway, they are located in the Lamps Plus Plaza, it is a bit hidden and may be easily missed because it is in the back of the plaza and tucked in the corner. Parking is a bit hit or miss here, there is a shared parking lot, but it was pretty packed when my friends and I came on a Saturday afternoon. The parking spots are a bit compact / small too, so even after finding parking, it was a bit difficult to get out of the car because of the tight spaces, so one of my friends just got out to go pick up our food himself, while the rest of us stayed in the car. We ordered ahead of time online, so our food was ready to go when my friend went inside to pick it up. My friends already knew what they wanted from the get-go, but I was torn between their Jajang Rice and Jjamppong Rice. I ended up choosing the latter because I do not really like shimp, which comes with the Jajang Rice (you can remove it, but not subsitute it with another protein). Anyway, we ordered the Chili Jjamppong, Jajangmyeon, Jjamppong Rice, and Sweet & Sour Chicken. My friends liked their food - the Chili Jjamppong and Jajangmyeon. I thought my Jjamppong Rice was decent with a good spice to it, I feel like there could had been more pork and squid though. Honest Review: 3.5stars My fam and I occasionally at least try to every other month swing by to have some yummy comfort food that is super quick with little wait time for food! We always order the 8x fried dumplings and sweet and sour pork for appetizers then the jajangmyeon whether it is the noodles or the one with the fried egg over rice since it is their signature dish for entrees! My daughter loves it and sometimes order the Beef Jjamppong to get a different variety, pretty good as well! The reason for the 3.5star review is due to the fact that there's inconsistency with how the food is prepared; sometimes it can be very delicious where the jajangmyeon sauce is made lightly sweet with more bite size pieces of pork and the fried dumplings/sweet and sour pork is a nice golden brown crisp. Other times, the jajangmyeon sauce is very salty with little to no pork pieces plus the appetizers were deep fried much longer than expected making it very difficult to bite into and digest LOL. Also for whatever reason, the business hours can't be too trusted since on some occasions while around the vicinity, the place was closed so make sure to just give a little call so that someone answers the phone to let you know their business hours for the day; a for sure WIN-WIN strategy! Give this place a try and hope that they deliver cuz you might not be craving jajangmyeon everyday but that taste will be lingering in the back of your mind until you cave in and be like "I NEED SOME NOW" LOL since other places try too hard to make them and use generic commercial sauces possibly from the supermarket not homemade! read more

We usually eat next door at the Korean restaurant but decided to finally give this place a try. So glad we did! The noodles had the perfect texture and flavors and prices were reasonable. Craving for jja jang myun and tang su yook for a long time. My previous visit at this place was terrible. But We found out one review mentioned the ownership was changed and taste was better than before. We were around that area and decided it to try today. Service was friendly and nice. Seems like new ownership. Food quality is down, taste not up to par with any of the other Paik locations and thought Dublin was the best in the past. Now seems to be the worst. Only thing that tastes similar was the tang su yuk. Sauce color now is darker. Ja jang noodle the sauce is more watered down. Fried noodle new tasted burnt. Sweet chili shrimp has tail on and thick batter not appealing to eat. Chili chicken hard and very crunchy I think used white meat instead of dark meat which was juicy on the inside and good crunch on the outside. So unless they improve not a good place to go eat. Just reading the fake 5 star reviews very funny how they compare and say this location is the best. Read the lesser star ratings and you'll quickly find out that the old owners were better. And the people who have frequent this location can tell that it is not better. I have been to this location over 20 times in the past so I can tell you that this is new change over isn't better, it's worse. read more
