Spacious interior, well organized crockery for self service

Good spot for Indian-Pakistani cuisine. Came here for an early dinner on a weekend and it was getting packed as we left. It's a self service place where you order & pay for your food, pick up your utensils and they call out your number for you to pick up your food when it's ready. It's more a takeout place than a full fledged restaurant. We ordered the chicken leg kebab (5/5), beef seekh kebab (4/5), chicken seekh kebab (3/5), achari gosht (goat) (3/5) since it was rather oily with some weird cuts of the meat and butter naan (5/5). The folks at the counter were courteous and welcoming. Overall, a place we'd come to again to sample their other offerings.

Came here with the baby daddy on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. Restaurant had a good amount of people already eating. Lots of to go orders too while we waiting for our food. It was both our first times eating here. You order at the counter, get a buzzer and seat yourself. We picked a nice window seat and I had a nice cup of chai ($2 with one free refill). Chai was delicious. Spicy and rich. Perfect for a chilly afternoon. Our food took a little longer than expected to arrive but it was worth it. My husband said it's the best chicken tandoori he's ever had. It was perfectly seasoned with a great smoky char. The goat curry was phenomenal! It was rich and the depth of flavor was perfect with naan. We ordered garlic naan but I think plain naan would've complimented the curry better . The garlic naan was a little overpowering. All that came to about $45 including tax and tip for two people . Parking was smooth since they have a pretty generous parking lot. I'd recommend this place for family meals and lunch meetups.

Didn't know they had a Pakwan here in Hayward! We used to go to the location in Fremont. We ordered food to-go. We had the beef curry, spinach and potato, goat curry, lentil beans, and plain naan. Only complaint is the goat meat wasn't that tender. Beef was very tender, but it was in a gravy sauce. Lentils and spinach with potato were very good. There was a lot of oil in the dishes so we poured some out.

Service is simple and nothing fancy, you order and get your food from the counter, you gets your own plates, utensils and drinks. But we go here for the food... very flavorful. I did notice something different though when I came back today... the servings seems more than before. I have not been here in a few months... but this is a good change.

Very nice, good atmosphere clean, customer service is good and fast too. biryani doesn't have too much meat, tandoori smell gas, the restaurant is pricey comparing with other Indian, Pakistani restaurant.

I think the food, service, and the interior in this place is amazing! The food is cooked to perfection, barely any burnt parts on my meat, the interior in here is spotless, not even a single piece of food on the floor. And it only took 6 minutes for our food to be ready! The bathroom however..... every time I go in there, there is two flies flying around. Some pieces of tiny paper towels that has been used that are on the floor. This is restaurant is very good but the only problem is the bathroom.

Gosh been coming to Pakwan for ages, and never thought of writing an updated review in 15 years! This is one of those few places where the food, portions and quality has stayed amazing thought out the years. It's been our once a week go to for so long we've really just taken it for granted I guess. It's a no frills place, you go in, order at the counter and everything else is self serve. But see the food, it's incredible. Whether it's the non-vegetarian curries, the rice dishes, naan, or the grilled meats, it's all chef's kiss. Just go and try for yourself.

Crazy ambitious menu with pizza, burgers, wings, kabobs, wraps and many Mid East favs like falafels, dolmas, gyro and babaghanoush. I only tried a couple of items, so I do need to try a few more things eventually. Order at the counter and food will get brought out. Seems like a place popular for take-out/deliveries. On a casual lunch I was impressed by the diversity in the place, as it is downtown Hayward. Young, old and cultural garb from several cultures spotted. Service at the register was friendly, dude gave off ownership vibes. Falafel Wrap ($11/4*) Very fresh and satsifying wrap. Big, soft and puffy pita bread is filled to the brim with fresh salad-like veggies. Chopped lettuce, tomato, onions and a couple of pickled items. Stuffed also with a decent amount of fat disk of falafel and a good dousing of tahini sauce. I loved the bites for the most part as I was full without feeling weighed down for the lunch hours. The falafels had good flavor but just didn't seem as crisp as I usually prefer, didn't seem fresh out of the fryer, which the places that are known for this definitely do. I especially liked the bites more when a pickled veggie entered the bite, so I should have ordered extra...next time. Beef Kabobs ($25/4*) Got this for take-out and it was still good hours later after a reheat. Beef is in small cubes and cooked pretty well done. A bit dry but at least it was flavorful. Definitely taste more Afghan in spicing/marinade, pretty bold with lots of garlic and herbs. De Afghanan out here in the east bay is the gold standard for these types of kabobs and those are cut into bigger chunks and are juicier by a lot. Kabob plates comes with a good amount of seasoned basmati rice, a pita bread, a small green salad and a small scoop of hummus. Even tho $25 seems a bit pricey, there is enough food to justify the price. I was able to make 1.5 meals out of it with a good dinner and a small work lunch. I actually want to try a pizza here and definitely a lamb kabob. I hang out in this downtown area often, so great having another casual option in my back pocket. Yeah Buddy!!

Our vegetarian companion had borani banjan - smoked, grilled eggplants in the tomato yogurt sauce similar to the appetizer we had. Shami kabob came with two kababs (picture only one as our little one already sneaked one!). Kababs were juicy, perfectly spiced, with enough rice and salad. They are 100% halal, which is a huge draw for the big middle eastern population here in the East Bay. They have a livestock farm out in the central valley, so this is a very local (Californian) operation. Which was my initial draw for this place. The meat market is small but very well stocked. Maybe 3 large display coolers. One doing all poultry and the other 2 doing beef in several grades/breeds and lamb. Everything I perused over looked great and presented in a professional manner. Not cheap but I think it can be worth it if you are into quality and responsible sustainability. I've tried a couple of their steaks and also their beef hot links. I really liked the steaks as they are very beefy with a nice toothsome texture. The hot links were just meh, hot dog consistency but very firm and bouncy. Probably wouldn't get that again. But steaks, I will keep exploring their different cuts. But within this year of 2026 they also started to do an outdoor cooking station, to showcase some of their meat products. And the foodie influencers on socials are definitely showing this place off, which is a great thing for them, as they are harder to find. You order inside the meat market, pay, then bring your receipt to the outdoor cook. They have a few outdoor tables and chairs spread out but I saw several people eat right in their cars. The menu has burgers (maybe 2 levels of beef), cheesesteaks, chopped cheese sammies, tri tip, lamb chops and limited beef ribs. Most things are cooked on a propane blackstone which is a hot cast iron flat top grill. Smash Burger ($15/4*) At this price, comes with a bag of chips and a soda. Just a burger is $12. Quality patty, quite beefy texture which I liked. Wished it were seasoned a bit more as the beef flavor would get more amplified. There was a sauce that adds some flavor to the bites. Not a huge burger like you don't need 2 hands to eat this. Comes with lettuce and pickles, and they told me onions but I didn't really taste any. It was a decent burger but not a special one. In & Outs double is still my standard that I hold most burgers to, and In & Outs is still more satisfying (soul-wise) than this version. Lamb Chops ($28/4.5*) When I saw this on the menu, I had to try it. 3 nice sized chops. Much more meaty than most other chops as they leave a lot more of the meat/fat on the ribs, which I love. They season this with something more significant than the burgers. More of a spicy salt, which I actually loved. They sear it super aggressively on that flat top that it almost looks blackened. But when meat gets that seared and caramelized, it just intensifies the meat flavors. Definitely cooks past medium, but lamb chops are so fatty that it can take it. Came with some cheese toast that got too dark from the hot grill. I was able to eat 1 piece but the other piece was too burnt. Came with a nice scoop of mac salad. I ate one chop there with my burger as to taste it fresh right off the grill. It was pretty special. And the other 2 chops I had for dinner later that night with some freshly cooked sides, some steamed veggies and couscous. Very satisfying dinner, even though the chops were a bit drier than the first one I ate. Still repeat worthy. I'm gonna get some raw lamb chops from them again and cook it myself. Along with several of their steaks and beef cuts. I'm an avid cook and this is an awesome local resource for me. Throwing out the fiver for the exciting and delicious future I have ahead of me.

With most commercial beef that you buy at major grocery stores, the beef either has no natural flavor so you basically have to pour a huge bottle of A1 sauce! Not this one. After shopping, for lunch I decided to eat at Adrienne's Wild Wings. I'm a sucker for wings, but I've never been to Adrienne's Wild Wings before. I asked the cashier what sauce she would recommend. She stated one of the sauces she liked was honey garlic. I ordered 10-piece combo that included ten wings, side order, and dessert. For the side order I choose tater tats while for the dessert I selected cheesecake. The 10-piece combo comes with two sauces. I choose honey butter, which is the dry rub, and honey garlic. I believe sauces should be used for flavoring not hiding. What do I mean by that? I've noticed sometimes sauces mask how dry the meat is. I decided to taste the honey butter first to see how moist the meat is inside. After taking a bite two things came to mind. First I couldn't taste the honey butter. Second the meat was moist. I tried the honey garlic. The cashier said the honey garlic was spicy. However I felt the honey garlic was spicy at all. Yet the honey garlic sauce was very flavorful. What did I like more the honey butter or honey garlic? I say this was toss up as I can taste more of the meat from the honey butter, yet I can enjoy the sauce of the honey garlic. The tater tots were disappointing as they were bland. The cheesecake was light. I don't shop at Southland Mall often. If I go back Southland Mall and become hungry for lunch I can see myself going back to Adrienne's Wild Wings.
