Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Fe. We first came here for a quiet end of day beer and the staff were so nice and the environment so pleasant we knew we had to come back. So we did. During our second time there we ordered the chile relleno plate (with New Mexican chilis stuffed with cheese, covered in egg batter, with both red and green chile and pozole, salad and beans) and chicken salad. The chile rellenos were the best I had in Santa Fe (better than those in more famous restaurants with very long waits) and the chicken salad was surprisingly good. My wife ordered the chicken salad as she wanted something light. I'm not usually a fan of chicken salad as the grilled chicken in other restaurants is usually dry and bland. Not here! The grilled chicken was very juicy and flavorful. To complete the meal we had a very indulgent Tres Leches cake. Delicious! The ambiance of the restaurant is so very chilled and comforting. And the owner and staff are so warm and friendly they really do treat you like family. What a great feeling we had dining here. If I lived in Santa Fe I would return regularly! read more

Okay. When we came in, there was one other table used and that was just about 12pm. Within 30 minutes all tables were full. The music is perfect, the atmosphere is cute and works without being over stimulated. The noise of all the tables... you would think you couldn't hold a conversation because of how busy they were but it was surprisingly quiet. My friend had enchiladas and said they were really good. I wish I could say the same about my smothered bean and meat burrito. I went with the baked chicken for the meat and it was flavorless, cut up into tiny chunks, and kind of tasted like canned chicken. The rest of the burrito was equally unimpressive and flavorless. The tortilla wasn't grilled and the green sauce on top made everything super mushy. There was tons of green sauce left and I wish they'd provided beans & rice or some chips to go with it. Oh well... We also got some tres leches cake for dessert. It was okay. Too much icing and the actual cake could have been a lot moister. On a positive note, the place was super cute with a very pleasant vibe. Another great spot the my daughter and son-in-law like to go for breakfast. The gentleman who came to our table seemed to remember them. He was great! We started with chips and salsa/guacamole, both were good. The avocado in the guacamole was puréed, we prefer chunky avocado, but the flavor was good. The salsa was very fresh, but we prefer a little heat... the chips were thin and crispy... on point. We shared the chicken enchilada platter, "Christmas Style," which came with beans and pozole. The enchiladas were very good, chicken super tender and tasty. Both chili sauces very good, we preferred the red, just a personal taste thing... This wasn't my first choice for dinner but the reviews are good so I came here because my original 2 plans fell through. It's a cute place with seats inside and outside patio. My server was very nice but service was relaxed. I went with his recommendation of steak tacos. They were tasty. The rise on the side was delicious and I liked the salsa, it was different than other salsas I have had. I enjoyed the meal. But then I ruined it with the flan. Maybe im being too picky but the texture was not right. Flavor was definitely on point, not too sweet and wonderful caramel but I think it was over baked. It's almost rubbery in texture. Came here because of the reviews, but I was not impressed with the food. The enchiladas suizas were just ok, the rice was bland a, and the refried beans looked as if they would be delicious, but once I tasted them they were burnt and if you've had burnt beans you know how bad the taste is. The beans were burnt at the initial cooking of dry beans and so it ruins the whole pot. We also had chips with guacamole and salsa, it was ok. Quesadilla with chicken was plain as can be and served with French fries. The smothered burrito with red chili sauce was also pretty bland and it had beans which also tasted bad. As with my previous reviews we had another delicious lunch at the Palacio Restaurant. The service continues to be excellent. Our lunch consisted of the Chile Relleno Plate served Christmas style and a TKY Sandwich. Both delicious and looking forward to returning soon. read more
