My wife and I stopped here for lunch after walking the plaza area. It's a small restaurant with limited seating. The service was very good and the food was great. Ended up eating here four times during our 5 day stay in Santa Fe because the food was so delicious, the staff were all so lovely and friendly and their prices were affordable. Over the visits I had fantastic huevos rancheros, an absolutely massive salad sandwich and probably the most delicious steak tacos I've ever eaten (plus one morning I just felt like toast which they were more than happy to provide). Two stars because the food was very good but we had pretty terrible service. We arrived at Palacio for brunch on a Saturday morning and there was a line out the door to get a table. After about 15 minutes, we were offered a table on the sidewalk. We sat for 30 minutes before a server came to take our drink order. Another 30 minutes before drinks came and they took our food order. The other two tables outside had similar experiences and we were all complaining. It seems like they were just ignoring the outside tables because they were busy, but if that was the case they should have stopped seating people. We didn't get our food until after we had been there for almost an hour and a half and then had to chase down the server to actually pay for our bill. read more

The front door is somewhat hidden from view on San Francisco Street, because it is in an alcove situation facing west. And all other store fronts next to it are facing south. But, oh, when you walk in, you know that you have entered some place special. Older decor, mature, friendly staff, that all feels familiar - New Mexico style - , even though I didn't know any of them. They are all family members and obviously have learned from each other the art of easily making customers feel at home without overdoing it. The food is delicious and taste like it is homemade. This place has the best enchiladas I've ever had. I've never been a huge enchilada fan, but I guess I've never really had a good one before. I had the green and red sauce and the green is very mild and very flavorful and the red has a little bit heat to it. The beans and the pozole it came with were awesome! On top of that, everyone that worked here was extremely nice. They refilled my coffee three times within 20 minutes. The food took about 20 minutes to come out, which I didn't mind because I'm always suspect of a place that is able to serve you food within two or three minutes. Be prepared to wait a few minutes for your food, it will be very worth it. read more

This is a small cafe near downtown Santa Fe. I found a table very quickly (around 10:30 AM). Ordered Huevos Rancheros for the first time and I absolutely loved them. I ordered christmas style as I wanted to try the difference in flavors. The red chile is not as spicy as other red chile sauces in Santa Fe, which is a big plus in my opinion. The flavor was great. Green chile was also good and had about equivalent spice to the red chile. I will definitely be back for another meal to try something else on their menu, but very good breakfast/brunch option. read more

I had the BLTA which was great (a BLT with avocado) paired with a cup of this amazing green chile stew (Who knew that chile peppers were so important in New Mexico?) and a fresh made lemonade that actually tasted like fresh lemons and not just sugar water! We enjoyed the handheld burrito for breakfast with an extra accompaniment of red chile sauce which was simply delightful & the heat was perfect. The burrito was sumptuous with potatoes perfectly cooked and the an exquisite combination of red chile sauce, eggs potatoe & bacon!!!!!
