I wasn't greeted so I wasn't sure if the cashier was ready to take my order and instead of asking if I would like a drink, he barked out "drink" at me. I saw him throw a bag on the counter when another customer asked for one instead of you know, handing it to them. He had a personality of a dead porcupine when taking orders. Funny enough, when the line died down, he was all smiles and rather cheery when talking to his coworkers. Shame he couldn't remember he is being paid to be friendly to customers. As far as airport food goes, this place is not bad. They have a decent selection of sandwiches, pastas, salads, and pizzas. I ordered a turkey panini. It was made to order, which did mean a longer wait time, so I ended up taking my sandwich back to my gate just to make sure I didn't miss my flight. My panini was nice and hot, and tasted good. The bread was thin enough that I didn't feel awkward biting into my sandwich in front of my gatemates. (Traveling alone is tough, man.) I don't know what they did to the spinach in my sandwich but it was very flavorful. And I love spinach, so that's a good thing. Also, good press marks on the bread, and it was not burnt which tends to happen to me sometimes when I order paninis. I did feel like the price I paid was a bit much. Granted the sandwich was wider than most paninis I get, but it was also flatter. I also didn't appreciate the wait, especially since waiting for your food basically means awkwardly standing around in a cramped little space or outside the establishment until someone yells out your order. Pasta sounded like a pretty good pre-flight meal. I ordered the Spaghetti with meat sauce and found it to be pretty tasty after I dumped a couple packets of Tabasco sauce in it. However, the portion size was quite small and not necessarily what I expected for the price I paid. Spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs will run you $15 and it may not even fill you up! A decent option for an airport meal; fast and tasty, but could be better. I had the pizza margherita. On the positive side, the pizza is made to order and the ingredients are fresh and tasty. It's served in a small version of a take-out pizza box, so it's easy to carry to your gate. Takes about 5 mins for a pizza. On the negative side, not sure if it's the oven, the dough, or too much toppings, but the pizza doesn't really get crisp. A slice of thin crust, wood-fired pizza shouldn't flop around when you pick it up. Seating is in the central terminal area, which can be pretty full at a peak hour. I purchased a salad which had a lot of potential to be delicious based on the description (salami, chicken, Gorgonzola, tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, etc) However, half of the lettuce had gone bad and was either slimy or pink. He put the mixture into a little to go box & garnished with parmesan cheese, grabbed a piece of French bread, & put it all in a bag. I can't believe this is airport food. Seriously one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The ingredients are top notch. Super tasty and well priced. Their bread is made using homemade dough. They make their own soda's with no fructose syrups. I didn't try the pizza but it looked and smelled delicious. They have a pizza oven!
