Lamb Shawarma Platter comes with hummus, cucumber and tomato salad and pita bread.

Called in a take out order of lamb shawarma platter. Seemed like they had a large catering order since my order wasn't ready when I arrived. It took another 10 min. The place has five large round tables and you can see the kitchen from the cash register. There were a few people in the tables eating. The place has glass windows so you can see the sunlight from inside.

Met a friend for dinner here and we decided to split a full rotisserie chicken meal. My mind was blown at the price-this has to be the cheapest dinner I've had in the city totaling $17.45 each, which included tip. We were both happy with the portion size. Though if you come starving, you may want it all to yourself. The meal came with a good amount of hummus, tomato and cucumber salad and some pita bread. The chicken was a small size, but enough and had a little bit to take home. Hummus had a really nice texture and consistency. Everything else was standard and found it to be a good spot for an affordable for a casual lunch or dinner. I was confused on whether we order from the table or the counter. It appeared you could do both.

My boyfriend and I were visiting SF for a baseball game and decided to stop here before. The staff were so nice, food was absolutely delicious. We were talking about how good the food was the rest of the night! If we lived in SF this would definitely be a regular spot for us.

My friends and I came here on a Friday evening and were seated immediately in a circular booth-like area. There was plenty of seating, with the restaurant getting full as time went on that evening. We ordered at the cash register and waited not too long for our orders. -Baba Ghanoush: creamy and plentiful and delicious! It came with the side of pita bread. -Beef Kebab: This was my favorite dish! The meat was soft & flavorful. -Chicken Shawarma: I felt as if they gave the most meat for this meal, and it was chewy and good. -Rotisserie Chicken: It was also a flavorful and soft meat. -Kibbi: These tasted quite fresh and had a crispy outside! The portions were generous, and we all had leftovers that was enough for a couple of meals. I enjoyed this find on a random search, and would love to come here again to try their other dishes!

Not bad! Ordered the half chicken meal ($19) and the cucumber salad ($7). The prices are decent and reasonable. We were seated immediately for 2 around 8pm on a Tuesday. Seemed like a popular spot for runners, since a whole group came shortly after we sat down. Personally, I thought the chicken was a bit dried out, and I'm not sure I liked the flavor of the ganoush. Perhaps plating could have been a bit neater too, sorta felt like things were just piled together (being picky though). The salad delivered on the cucumber and tomato, though I do wish it was delivered in a bowl or something to mix the sauce in, as it was already pretty piled onto the plate. The sauce came in two plastic containers, which was efficient for take out, but felt a little off since we were dining in. The ambiance inside feels like an old American diner mixed with Syrian decor. Blue water cups, concrete floor, bright overhead lighting, and lots of scattered random objects.

Came here Saturday around noon to grab some lunch and settled on the chicken shawarma platter. In terms of taste, the hummus is excellent, the pita was delicious, and the chicken had a bunch of flavor. That said, the chopped cucumber and tomatoes could've had a bit more flavor. The people there were friendly and the food came out relatively quickly. I'd have no qualms about returning. While I took the food to go this time, the restaurant was big enough and clean enough for groups to come and eat together. Personally, I don't understand why the price is as high as it. But this seems to be a trend among Mediterranean restaurants. I can see in pictures that the platter was significantly cheaper 1-2 years ago. At the very least, I would've appreciated if with the increased cost, the platter would also come with rice. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the platter came with quite a bit of chicken.

Popped in for dinner and was greeted with helpful service! We ate a delicious lamb kebab plate, small baba ghanoush, and dolmas. The side garlic and hot sauce were so tasty. The plate came with pita, yellow rice, and hummus. There was a pretty mural inside with comfortable booths - we will be back!

We stepped in before a concert for a quick meal and were not disappointed!! Quick counter service, amazing plates. The rotisserie chicken was our favorite. The meat was juicy and the portions were plentiful. Loved the beef kebab plate as well-- the hummus and pita was our favorite. Ordered two Falafel on the side which was crispy and perfect. We'll definitely be back!

    Wrap and falafel
    Emily F.

Mixed review and feelings about this place. I'd heard good things and wanted to try it as I'm in the area. Stopped in and got a beef wrap and falafel to go. Service was very kind and food came out pretty quick. Inside is cute but not fancy and no frills. I was so hungry when I got home with the food. The falafel was good and like that they packed hot sauce and the garlic sauce. The wrap was also falafel and not beef so was pretty disappointed. I was on a quick time crunch so did not have time to call or go back to have the order corrected. I only ate part of it since it was not what I ordered and falafel was a bit soggy in the wrap. Maybe I'd come back again but hesitant.

Beef Kebab Platter, Syrian Style Wrap
    Patrick L.

The food was exquisite and was full of flavor. This is a great place for an introduction into middle eastern food. Great taste, hospitable service, wide variety, and fair price point. The beef kebab was very juicy, full of flavor, and straight off the grill. The rice, hummus, and pita were fantastic compliments to the beef. The cucumber and tomato salad helped balance out the platter and were a refreshing pit stop to the heaviness of the main items on the platter. The wrap was also good and akin to a California burrito, just middle eastern style. Not my first pick on their extensive menu of ethnic foods, but something you wouldn't be disappointed ordering. This restaurant would earn 5 stars if not for their slightly rundown interior and slower service, but that's just part of its neighborly vibe. I highly recommend visiting this spot!

Best Syrian option I've found in the Bay Area. If you don't know about Syrian food, it's considered to be some of the best in the Middle East. Offerings at Palmyra are traditional and very well done, like you would find at a cafe in Damascus or Aleppo. We started with hummus, which was smooth and tasty. Then we moved on to the eggplant (Moussaka) and beans (Moudamas) apps. Spices were noteworthy and the tomato sauce was something special. Then we had the chicken shawarma and falafel. Again the spices on the chicken were excellent and the falafel was the best I've had since one in Luxor Egypt, which is high praise. There are many gluten free options, but not gf pita. There are a few things I still dream about from our trip to Syria... The Rose petal jam on toast at breakfast and the video screens in a cafe in Damascus playing old black and white videos of 1950's and 1960's Arab music and the smell of fresh cooked beans and chicken. You will feel the culture from Syria when you dine at Palmyra.

The kebabs were made with chicken breast, but very tender and moist, and the side of hummus was fresh, creamy and delicious. We also tried the sangria which was great- not too sweet and decently strong (not watered down bad wine). For dessert, the lemon cake was tasty but odd that dried cranberries were sprinkled into the whipped cream. I appreciated the variety offered on the menu- not just typical Greek food you find everywhere else that touts "Mediterranean food". The service was super nice and efficient, and I like that it has been family owned and run (sadly an increasingly rare San Francisco characteristic these days)- you can tell the difference in the quality and thought put into the experience.

The Stuffed falafel was so good and huge 1 is enough for 2 people. The mosabaha was very refreshing and so good.
