Chilaquiles torta verde y Chilaquiles in salsa roja with steak and eggs
    Jonathan P.

i got up at 7:30am for this place and when i tell you this was so worth it. We waited for no more than 30 minutes from open until we got our food and pastries. The earlier you get there, the more options you have. we not only got a torta de huevos con chilaquiles en salsa roja y verde con carne asada, and 6 pastries. all of which were delicious. The workers were so sweet, it made the place feel like i was back in mexico in my mother's hometown. The ambience is warm and very welcoming. If you're a person that can't decide, make sure you bring extra money because you will be walking out with more than one box. Only downside is how many seats they have to eat there, but mostly everyone that went in, got their food and pastries and left.

Lively panderia with amazing selection of goods including coffee. Standard coffee but the star of the show are the baked goods! Pistachio croissant was an amazing treat. Staff is awesome and very accommodating! Inside the store transports you out of Chicago and it's a great vibe! Pro Tip: there are also sandwiches and chilaquiles for sale did not have a chance to try but looked amazing!!

I've been here twice already and both times everything tastes amazing! So many different options to choose from. Come early because there is ALWAYS I mean ALWAYS a line & I can see why, everything tastes amazing incredible. Parking can be a bit difficult to find just because it's on a Main Street but eventually you'd be able to snag one just read the street signs. Don't let the line scare you because these women are fast & efficient on getting the line moving. It's the guests that makes it take some time because we have so many delicious options to choose from!

This spot is only open on Saturdays and Sundays, and there's always a long line. As soon as I heard they had a Chile Relleno croissant, I knew I had to try it. We arrived around 8:30 AM and there was already a line out the door. It took about an hour before we got to the front of the line to order. The seating inside is limited but I love how they blend traditional Mexican pan dulce with French style pastries. We ordered the Chile Relleno croissant of course, Arroz Con Leche cinnamon roll, Ube Flan croissant, and Gansito croissant. Everything was really good but overall, it's not something I'd wait in line for every weekend. Still, I'm really glad I tried it and recommend checking it out but be sure to go early because they do sell out!

Came here on a Saturday morning. Read somewhere that said they opened at 8, but in fact opened at 9. I wasn't upset though. My son and I were 5th in line. The pastries at this place were phenomenal! We ordered 6. The only thing my son didn't like though was the cinnamon roll coz it was too sweet for his liking. Everything else was the right amount of sweet and delicious! My 2 complaints was the music was waaaaaaay too loud and I couldn't hear the lady taking my order was saying. I also wasn't a fan of the food we ordered. We ordered red chilaquiles with steak and egg. It was bland. It would have been nice if they at least salted the food. Other than that, we will definitely be back for the pastries. The berry croissant and roll were amazing as well as their chocolate croissants and rolls.

Went on a Saturday 15 minutes before opening and there were up to 30 people in line, but once the store opened, the line moved pretty fast. Loved all the decorations inside, and service was friendly. My favorite order was the arroz con leche roll, which tasted like a cinnamon roll but with light cinnamon and more of a milky flavor and texture. I also got a regular cinnamon roll, which was absolutely divine when it was fresh and warm. I bought a second cinnamon roll hoping to enjoy the next day, but it dried out. Next time I'm really curious to try to carrot cake roll and their chilaquiles!

Wanted to visit this place for a long time, did not disappoint! The croissants were delicious, not overly sweet. For food we got the chilaquiles with steak, it was very flavorful. Although it was busy, staff was friendly, service was very efficient.

Came here on a Saturday morning. I ordered a steak taco, salsa, Verde, egg sandwich, cinnamon roll, pan de elote, and a pistachio croissant. we arrived around 9:30 AM. There was a line but it moved quickly. The staff is very efficient. The ambience is very festive with an amazing playlist. This is the best cinnamon roll. I've had in Chicago. The tortilla is handmade and the steak is very tender and flavorful. They have three different types of salsas that you can choose from. It definitely worth getting here at 8a. I plan on going tomorrow to try the guava and cheese croissant and the strawberry and cheese empanada.

I've never once been able to make it here earlier enough to get a look at all their pastry options , they sell out super quickly ! You should definitely get here when they open, it's worth it. But if you don't make it before their pastries sell out they always have amazing sandwiches to try on their fresh baked bread . Their steak and egg sandwich is perfection but their bread is what makes it. I hope to be back in the near future to make it on time to try the rest of their baked goods!

    Chorizo and turkey pastrami sandwiches
    Gabe L.

Sandwiches had the best bread, fluffy yet crusty and soft, perfect with the egg I would get the chorizo and egg over the turkey pastrami next time though as it was fantastically spicy and flavorful in comparison Cinnamon roll was so warm, fluffy and had the best cream cheese frosting and cinnamon filling. The pastry case was empty when we went around 1030 and waited in line so this was a great surprise that they had last minute Note to self to go early if I want to get any pastries, but if you go later you can still get sandwiches!

SPARE YOURSELVES THE TRIP. We went after hearing raving reviews and all the Instagram hype. However, we were greatly disappointed and would like to spare you the trip. First of all, we waited two and a half hours (arrived at 8:10, and weren't served until 10:40). Then, we saw insane prices, which had been clearly marked up recently (you could see the previous prices had been covered, and the new prices were written on top). 2 pastries are $14, bagels are $10, and breakfast sandwiches are $9!!! To make it even more ridiculous, they have a "$1 surcharge due to egg shortage" which is not even relevant right now, and also insane to add to an already expensive and rather small sandwich (9+1=$10). They are clearly taking advantage of the hype, and I would not recommend the wait at all. For instance, una torta de frijol (a bread with beans), which is arguably one of the most affordable foods in Mexico, is sold for $6. The pastries are good, but definitely not for the price nor the wait. They are already charging out of their asses for every single item, yet they still have the audacity to have the automated tip suggestions going up to 30%--an insane option for a pickup service not even a sit-down service.

I've been a customer of almost 10 years and have been obsessed since they first opened their doors at a different location. I literally live an hour away without traffic and even longer with traffic, but I make sure to stop by or send someone else to get it for me at least once a month or more. I love the amazing cakes that are so delicious and unique but on top of that, it is Asian owned, LGBTQ supporting, etc. A lot has changed since their little storefront with no seating. The bakery is now a full on cafe and I'm so happy to see how much they've grown and how successful they are. And while it is glorious, I will say I miss the sweet neighborhood charm and great customer service it used to have. Getting in touch with the bakery through phone or text can be tough and to be honest, sometimes one of the people working there is kind of...very mean. It had me questioning if I should keep coming back. I just love this bakery so much though and being raised by parents that had a small food business, I can't help but want to support. I had a particularly difficult last minute request for the bakery a few weeks ago and I was reminded why this place is so great. It had been YEARS since I made this specific request, which was an order for a slice of cake for every flavor and a cupcake for every flavor. This is a BIG and time consuming request, especially if it's last minute. Unfortunately I come to the city whenever the traffic isn't atrocious, so it's always last minute. Dom absolutely pulled through though. Even though there were other employees there (I saw two others but one disappeared and then another male was kind of walking around the cafe and such), Dom took this giant request and fulfilled it himself. The other gentleman (not the mean person previously mentioned) was actually who I made the request to, but he told Dom to do it. I was kind of confused why they didn't do it together but idk, maybe the other guy isn't allowed to handle food? Who knows. Regardless, this request obviously took a long time and the line was getting longer; people were getting a little restless but Dom stayed calm but was swift. I swear he was moving faster than most people in the industry could with a cake knife like that. He was not impatient or rude to me at all. He was just there to do his job as fast and well as possible. It's so rare to see that type of work ethic. He is also so obviously proud of the bakery and the food they serve which makes you feel good about being a patron there. So although I continue to have an unpleasant experience with one particular employee there, Dom keeps my love for this bakery alive. He reminds me of what this bakery was like when they first opened their doors. I hope Dom is cherished there and I bet he is considering his work ethic. I will continue to support this bakery and I recommend everyone else to support as well. It may not be that small little shop anymore but Dom is a reminder of the heart of the place.

I bought 3 and my friend got 2. Calamansi cream + pistachio paste danish was my favorite. The Calamansi cream was the perfect texture and density with a fragrant citrus note. When I took a sip of coffee afterwards it made my coffee taste like I was drinking fresh orange juice. The pistachio is more cake like inside than full paste and isn't too sweet. Flaky dough, soft pistachio center and creamy top with a sharp citrus cut. Peach + raspberry Melba danish. The peaches were soft. I'm not familiar with a Melba dessert but the center of this was almond paste which is not my favorite but if you like almond and tart danish it would hit the spot. Raspberry espresso cream cheese cinnamon roll was a fun fruity twist to a cinnamon roll. Couldn't really tell there was espresso though. Blueberry lime cheesecake danish. I also liked this one because of the lime. It really cuts through the heaviness. The fruits on top were also fresh. They also have one day old blind boxes. I grabbed a 6 piece day old box to go and it was actually 6 different pasteries, half sweet and half savory! It only repeated 1 of the pasteries I had originally tried so I'm excited to try more, especially the savory ones. It's an amazing deal if you just want to try a variety of flavors. Tried the Hot dog danish - really good! Upscale pigs in a blanket vibes. The tiny fried are seasoned perfectly and add a fun crunch. The splashes of Dijon cut through and it doesn't feel oily at all.

Let me tell you, it was all I hoped it could be and more. The storefront was pretty small with a few tables- between the size, hours, and popularity (they were only open a few days a week and closed at 2pm), I suspected that the shop sold out often. I went on a weekday and there was still a good selection of pastries left around 11am. The staff was super nice and helpful as I struggled to make a decision. They shared that the strawberry milk croissant was their bestseller, so I opted for that. It was filled with fresh strawberry mascarpone and fresh strawberry puree. Despite the croissant's decadent appearance, it was not at all too sweet. I'm not typically the biggest croissant fan (I know, I know, no one is perfect) but this pastry blew me away. The filling was super generous without overpowering the delicate dough, which was baked to crispy perfection. Sadly, I don't get to the area often, but I will 100% be back asap to try more of the menu. Run- don't walk to pay a visit!
