I must say this place was busy at the time (all of the people eating) and close to closing time when I visited but there was zero people in line when wanting to order. Their menu is displayed in 2 large screens and looks very good. I would have loved to tried this place out but I never seemed to get any type of service from anyone around. Literally speaking I was standing for 5 minutes and was ready to order the SeaFood Noodle when all of sudden I feel two people walking towards me, it was probably the owner and a client. The client walks right in front of me steps on me apologizes without looking me (rude) in the eyes and continues paying. Whomever was taking her money seemed that she was ok with the fact that she cut right into me stepped on me and took my place. Oh well did I make it very clear that I was not happy about that and stepped right out, cleared my throat and ate tuna at home. My friends brought me here recently because I was craving some good jjajangmyun. The interior is a little bland and outdated but it's all about the food here. The ajummas working here were friendly and hilarious. I really enjoyed their saefood pan fried jjajangmyun more than their regular one. More veggies in their sauce. Good texture of the noodles. Nice cohesiveness of their noodles and sauce. The spicy tofu and eggplant dish was unique. Wasn't a fan of their extra firm tofu but really enjoyed the eggplant and their amazing spicy sauce. Skip their garlic and pepper chicken. Even though the sauce was good the batter was dry and chicken was rubbery, Overall, legit place for jjajangmyun. Will try their jjampomg next time. Service was okay, and the place was packed so i had to wait 20 minutes. Again, because of the tight space that fits barely over 15 people, it probably means i have to wait almost every single time i come here. Foods were too greasy and did not like the sweet&sour pork. This place is located in a corner in a almost rundown plaza. I only heard of this place because of one of my students who kept raving it's the best place. Overall I think it's okay to eat at once in a while but I'm not that much of a fan. PROS: -only their jjambbong and jjajjangmyun are worth it. CONS: -shrimp fried rice is SO dry, boring, bland. -sweet and sour fried shrimp....the batter that is used to make this is made out of potato flour, since they drench the fried shrimp in sauce, the batter gets mushy and gloppy. I felt like i was eating blobs. The texture was absolutely revolting and disgusting. Barely any shrimp meat at all. Sad thing is they make the fried shrimp look like a huge shrimp but really, it's just the dough that the cooks shaped into shrimp. How sad. my review is based solely on the food. not the service. if service was factored in, they would probably get a solid 3 stars. after a long day at disneyland on valentines day we decided to stop in to try out their jjam bbong. i've heard a lot of good things about the jjam bong and what better way to end the day than with some delicious seafood broth! the restaurant upon arrival was jam packed. but we put our names on the list and waited. and watched in envy as everyone kept shoving delicious looking foods into their mouths. the wait ended up being about 40 minutes. and by then it was nearing their last call at 8:30 so they asked us and another couple if it would be okay for them to seat us together. ensue awkwardness. we sat there with the older korean couple when the boyfie tried breaking the silence with a "happy valentines day". we giggled uncomfortably. i sat there contemplating what to do next, when a table opened up and they offered to move us! hot diggity! we got an order of the jjam bbong, jja jang, and tang soo yook. tang sook yook came first. sauce comes on the side.. and it was delicious. jja jang came, took a bite and i was like meh, decent, but as i kept chewing it was like, wait a minute... this is actually pretty darn good... WAIt.. this is kind of delicious,! (btw, no meat in the jja jang) AND THEN the glorious jjam bbong arrived. piping hot, with loads of seafood. took a sip of the soup, sat back and smiled. we finished pretty much everything. no shame. now, onto the service. basically, there is no service. they do what they can to get you seated, your food ordered and delivered and that's about it. they have no system. they don't assign tables to one another, so basically if a table looks like they might need something, and one of the ladies decides they care enough to check on you, then that's your service. if you need water, you'll have to yell out or raise your hand and ask for it, and after that you're on your own. if you can fathom that, and accept that you'll have to sacrifice service, for yummy food, then you'll enjoy this place. read more

Don't be fooled by the name, location, or size of Wok Holic--this is not your typical Chinese take out. The place is small (only ~6 tables) but it is bright and clean. Unlike other places where you order your food Panda Express style, you are seated at a table before having your order taken from a waitress. I ordered the spicy soy ginger fried chicken and the (black soybean noodles). I wish I read the yelp reviews before ordering so I could try the (spicy noodle soup). The chicken looked and tasted delicious. They say it's supposed to be spicy but it was mild at best. It also could've used a little more salt, but I'm just nitpicking here. The black soybean noodles were tasty as well. The sauce wasn't heavy, and they even put chunks of sweet potato in it. I'll definitely be coming back here. In addition to Chinese food, they also have Korean fast food staples like dumplings, ddukbokki, and bulgogi. It's like having a piece of Korea in our neighborhood. read more

Contrary to other reviews, I think the service here is fine. They were polite and fairly responsive to us. I've had most of the popular menu items. They're most known for their jjamppong. The white chili and regular ones are both pretty good. Lots of seafood and huge portions! (This applies to all of their dishes) Jjajangmyun is so-so. I've had better, but it's not bad. More than the noodles I recommend the "sweet and sour pork" (tangsooyook) and the "garlic and pepper spicy chicken" (kkangpoonggi). The tangsooyook is very crispy and the sauce isn't too sweet. Kkangpoonggi has a really good sauce. Not too overbearing or spicy. It's not very crispy but the sauce makes up for it. read more

I've been here a few times and can say I genuinely like this place. I don't eat beef/pork so I can't eat a lot of their dishes. Please note that I've only ordered takeout from them. The jjajang is supposed to be good but already has meat in it so I haven't been able to try it. Both my parents (who are fairly picky eaters) have enjoyed it. Jjampong is great. I order it take out and they give you TWO containers of brother filled with seafood! Half a crab, shrimp, oysters, clams, etc. Get it. For $10 I don't think you can beat it. I always ask them what their "most popular chicken dish is" and I've gotten the same thing twice. VERY disappointing. I even asked for the sauce on the side the second time I ordered it and it was still mediocre at best. Finally, you WILL wait forever here. I need to just start calling in my orders. The last time I went was a Sunday evening during dinner time. I placed my order and then the lady behind me asked for a table of 4 and asked what the wait would be. The server grabbed the waiting listed and counted SIX tables in front of her. Not a good idea seeing how there were only 4 tables there. It took a solid 20-30 minutes to get my food after ordering it. During that time I walked around the strip mall for a second. The 7-11's entrance was crowded with homeless people demanding money. The Lee's Sandwich just finished baking delicious baguettes (I order: one for my wait and the other for the road). The massage place was open but nobody seemed to be inside (and it was a bit creepy to be honest). Loudly heard conversations (in Korean) consisted of: Man: I'm going crazy! Let's just go to Garden Grove and get Chinese out there Woman: NO! I cannot eat out there after having ate here! The GG food doesn't touch this place Man: We've been waiting for FIFTY Minutes and we're still third in line! Woman: too bad. Wokholic! This establishment is located on the corner of Beach and Lincoln (right across a Mobil gas station/car wash) in a small plaza that has plenty of parking. Come here with my friends on occasion and usually order the following: Good: Jjam bbong - Awesome. You get your mix of clams, mussels, squid, crab, along with an assortment of vegetables in a spicy broth. Portions large enough for two. Jja jang myun - Good. Nothing too fancy. Tang soo yook (sweet and sour pork) - Love it! Just fried (very hot) and crisp. Sauce comes on the side so you can choose to dip or pour. Fried rice (shimp fly lice) - The fly lice is okay. Can't really mess up on fly lice. *All dishes are accompanied with the yellow radish and soy sauce radish ban chan. * Have not tried other dishes but they look good which can only mean that they taste good as well. * Cost friendly! Okay: Wokholic can get packed at times meaning that you would have to wait a good 20 - 30 minutes to be seated. Just come in and put your name on the waiting list. I'm not sure if they provide this service at all times, but the last time I visited, they took our order prior to being seated (which is cool). As soon as we were seated, within 5 minutes we had everything and the food was piping hot. Bad: Not really bad but because the place gets packed, the waitresses sometimes are overwhelmed. This usually leads to them forgetting to bring water, remembering to bring an extra order of banchan or sometimes incorrectly charging you for your bill (which happened during my last visit) but no big deal.
