Best Jjajangmyun in OC, especially the Gogi (meat) version. It solved all my complaints of normal jjajangmyun not having enough meat in it. It's a bit on the sweet side compared to traditional Korean Chinese restaurants, but it works well as it's mildly salty and more savory. Most other places are bland, salty, and greasy. I'm currently eating jajangmyeon at the Hong Kong restaurant in the Fullerton branch. It's been 7 years since I've eaten jajangmyeon at Hong Kong Restaurant, but I'm leaving a comment because the noodles are strange. The taste is the same, but the noodles are boiled and then reheated, and they fall apart in my mouth without any strength. The temperature of the jajangmyeon is supposed to be somewhere between hot and warm, but the jajangmyeon I had today was lukewarm. My family ordered from here a month ago for my mom's birthday because the place we usually order Korean-Chinese from was closed. The food was okay. It is cheaper than a lot of other Korean-Chinese places, but the trade-off is that you get less and lower quality. My mom and I ordered the jja-jang myeon (noodles in black bean sauce), which were okay. My sister, however, ordered the jjam-bbong (spicy seafood noodle soup), and there was hardly any seafood in it. Maybe a couple of mussels, and that's it. The jjam-bbong from where we usually order, though more expensive, has a greater amount and variety of seafood in the soup. If you are willing to take the lower quality for spending less, this place is serviceable. If quality is important to you, though, I would look elsewhere. read more

Only been here once and only tried jajangmyeon twice. This place is way better than the other one I've tried before. The black bean sauce wasn't too tick and filled with delicious onions and meat. The portion is huge! Also tried the crispy pork and that was really good too. Reminded me of something like orange chicken. Ask for the sauce in the side so when you take it hope it'll be easier to reheat. They have variety of dishes , but the main dish is Jjam Ppong or Jja Jang myun. Both are well prepared and delicious..prices are under $10 with tax, so its a good quick bite. The restaurant is located inside the market food court, and its not busy during the lunch time, so you wont have to wait that long to get your order. What's all the hubbub about their jja-jian-mien? A great jja-jian-mien gives you a kick in the pants. The flavor of the sauce is strong, bold and require mouth wash afterwards and the noodle is firm and a little chewy. At HKB, the jja-jian bean sauce was bland, like it was a little watered down, and everything was cooked to mushy soft, including the noodle. Not so good. It wasn't all bad though. The jjampong was tasty and if you get the jjajang bap combo it comes with the soup too, so it's a great deal. I haven't tried the ttang su yuk but that looked good too. There was a line when we stopped by on the weekend but, the efficiency and team effort is streamlined and works very well. The wait is not long at all, I almost felt bad for the other two restaurants in the food court, because you could see them just waiting for customers but people just passing them by.... Keep in kind i eat pork 3x/year and i love pork so when people forced to stop eating pork (or die) says pork sucks or is blaah, it reaaly sucks!!!
