My friends and I tried to come to this place last night at 8:10pm but they were closed. We double check the store hours on Google Map and Yelp where it said they close at 9pm. We came all the way here and were bummed that they closed early. This place is in a small plaza and the store itself isn't that big inside. Hopefully they'll be open the next time we try again since we don't live close.

Great vegan selection!!! They have a whole separate vegan menu of 6 items plus vegan pastries/conchas. This place is ridiculously cheap! We got a total of 1 vegan breakfast burrito, 1 fried tamales de elote, and 2 conchas. The total was a mere $22! It's for sure an authentic hole-in-the-wall type place that hasn't been gentrified yet. The breakfast burrito was incredible, but be aware that it is VERY VERY VERY oily. When I opened my togo box, the entire bottom of my burrito was drenched in oil. If you're conscious about your oil intake, I would not recommend the breakfast burrito. Otherwise, eat away. It came with a side of very well-salted potatoes and smooth refried beans. The tamales were also delicious. My girlfriend, who's been on the search for good vegan tamales, remarked at how she finally found a place where it tastes authentic.

Delicioso!! I had a craving for a concha but the spot I usually go was in the opposite direction so yelp found me Panaderia Cuscatleca and THANK YOU! It's a lil spot in a mini strip mall with like 10 parking spots lol iykyk. On to the food: 1. 10/10 - Had to get a peperecha pan since it was vegan and yum! It's a pastry with filling and a topping. 2. 8/10 - The concha was delish! My only critique is I usually get the giant Mexican ones cuz I'm a carbivore lol so this one seemed small to me 3. 10/10 - Always gotta get the oreja if they make vegan ones and this one didn't disappoint either. The pastry was crisp and caramelization gave this cookie a nice chew. 4. 10/10 - Then I got the pan de frijol and it was gone in 60 seconds haha bolillo/bread roll with frijoles/beans and cashew cream, then jalapeños on the side I appreciated the atmosphere, super lowkey, not all fancy or gentrified thankfully so if you want some authentic, flavorful, not overpriced food, run on down and give these people your money! Ps. If it needs to be said, English is limited and also if you are respectful then everyone will help.

I am in tears. I have been searching for a spot with Vegan Pan Dulce for so long and I am glad that my search is over. I haven't been able to eat or drink dairy for years and the last time I had a proper Cafecito con Pan was back in 2018. So when I saw that they had vegan pan dulce my heart did a jumping jack :,) I also saw they had vegan options for tortas so I decided to come in here for that too. I got the Vegan Bean one and it was pretty damn good. It probably wouldn't fill you up if you were starving, but it'll keep you going. And now to the Vegan Pan Dulce. I got some Conchas and Champurradas to take home (with a Cafecito too of course) when I took the first bite of the Concha it instantly took me back to the days where I didn't have to worry about paying rent. And the champurrada was so good too I damn near cried. Even the coffee tasted just like how I remembered having regular Pan Dulce from my childhood and I couldn't be happier. I live in Inglewood but I would gladly make the drive here for my Vegan Pan Dulces. I'm glad I found this spot and I will definitely be a regular and I can't wait to try the other options. They also have plaza parking so parking will almost never be an issue!! The only overall downside is there is no bathroom. So if you're hygienic just be sure to bring some sanitizer, or if you have to use the bathroom then idk what to say about that one chief, but just know that if you're searching for Vegan Pan Dulce then this will be your spot, I LOVE IT HERE.

Que pan mas delicioso! There was a line so you know it had to be good. Which it was. I ordered two quesadillas, an empanada de leche, pan de piña, and three peperechas. I am Salvi and i have grown up eating salvi pan dulce and it is amazing. I very much enjoyed the quesadillas, they were moist and delicious. Peperechas have always been my favorite pan dulce. They were good at this place but not the best I'd ever had. The pan de piña was very delicious. The empanada de leche was HEAVENLY!!! I wish I had bought more than just one. This panadería also sold other salvi items like cheese and crema. There were also breakfast items. There was some tables in the panadería, where you could enjoy your café and pan. I will definitely be back!

This panadería is time and time again, the best!!!! I love their vegan conchas. And I love that they're not overpriced. They make them just like a regular concha so you don't miss that childhood feeling of having conchas on the weekends with your family. I just tried their vegan tres leches for the first time and I can't believe it's vegan!! It was so moist and sweet! I had the guava empanadas and they were really good too! I've never tried their regular baked goods but if the vegan stuff is amazing, I'm sure everything is amazing! They have a parking lot available and there's always space. The prices are perfect for a local panadería. I'm happy they didn't hike the prices just because they labeled something "vegan". This is my GO TO spot for sweet baked goods.

Beautifully decorated tres leches cake (tequila not included)!
    Julie L.

Their tres leches cakes are so good! Moist, creamy, and sweet (but not overly sweet)! The cakes are decorated beautifully too and can be displayed at any event! I ordered a birthday cake for my husband in 2023 and came back to order a large sheet cake enough for 100+ people. Edward was my rep since the beginning and he's been so helpful! I always call in advance to give them enough time to prepare. They will make it a day before to make sure it's as fresh as possible. I will continue to come here whenever we need their services. I appreciate how they're affordable and super reliable and convenient.

About 5 years ago we moved to San Fernando Valley, but I am still visiting this place at least twice / 3 times a month. I wish I could come more. The drinks and pastries have always made it an easy place for us to grab a treat, so I'm not writing this based on one random first impression. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing enough that I felt I needed to say something. When we came in, the trash cans were overflowing, and the floor looked like it had not been cleaned in quite some time. I understand that cafés can get very busy, especially in Little Tokyo, and I never expect a place to look perfect every second of the day. However, the dining area felt noticeably neglected. With two children, cleanliness is something I pay closer attention to, and it was uncomfortable trying to find a clean area for us to stand and sit. The overall atmosphere also felt disorganized. We waited at the register for help, but it took a while before anyone acknowledged us. A simple "I'll be right with you" would have made a big difference. I have had better experiences here in the past, which is why this visit stood out so much. I'm hoping this was simply a bad day, because Café Dulce has always been a place I was happy to visit with my family. I'm sharing this because I would genuinely like to see the cleanliness and customer service return to the standard I remember. Private Feedback for Management I did not feel comfortable putting the full details of this experience in a public review, but I believe management needs to be aware of what happened. While I was standing at the register waiting to order, the male employee working there was engaged in a conversation with another person and appeared to be openly gloating about drinking while on the job. Based on what I heard and observed, he also appeared to be impaired or intoxicated. He continued the conversation while ignoring me, even though I was standing directly in front of the register waiting to place an order. The tone of the conversation was not subtle or professional. It created a much darker and more uncomfortable atmosphere than what I would ever expect from a family-friendly café. I was there with my two children, and hearing someone behind the register casually talking about drinking while working was deeply concerning. Someone who appears intoxicated while operating a register and handling customers' money creates a terrible narrative for the business. It raises concerns about judgment, accuracy with transactions, food-service safety, and the overall professionalism of the workplace. Even if the employee was exaggerating or joking, it was still completely inappropriate to have that conversation openly in front of customers. What bothered me most was not only the conversation, but the fact that I was being ignored while it continued. I was waiting to spend money at the business, yet the employee seemed more interested in talking about drinking than acknowledging a customer. As a mother standing there with two children, the situation felt uncomfortable, disrespectful, and honestly a little disturbing. This is not my first time visiting Café Dulce, and I have never felt compelled to complain before. I understand that employees are human and that businesses have difficult days. However, the combination of overflowing trash cans, a dirty floor, being ignored at the register, and an employee appearing impaired while discussing drinking on the job crossed a line for me. I am sharing this privately because I believe management should have the opportunity to address it directly. I hope the situation is taken seriously, not only for the reputation of the café, but for the safety and comfort of the customers and employees.

Based on my memories, this LA location keeps it consistent with a similar taste and texture as the NY location. 3.5/5 Chocolate Chip Walnut: This cookie was tall and slightly undercooked in the middle. The middle was a bit on the squishy side, and crunchy on the outside. Due to the undercooked quality, it's not a cookie I'd get regularly, though I am a big chocolate chip cookie fan. 5/5 Rocky Road: This was delicious. I'm not usually a marshmallow fan, but the addition of this ingredient formed a nice chewy consistency that I expect from a cookie. Chocolatey tidbits were well melted into the cookie texture and produced some fudgey notes. The cookie sizes are large and potentially shareable, and feel like an every once in awhile treat.

I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off. I'm not going to pay for food that skims on ingredients and shortchanges customers by charging more for less, so this will be my last visit.
