Their pan dulce was delicious and so were the smells! The girl at the register was very nice as well.

Omg. Like I host those for my minis but I would love to go to one where I don't have to do set up and prep. Yasss. Anyway, people are super nice there. Good vibes. I'll have to stop off at the actual shop sometime. The goods: They looked tasty so obvi I ordered a bunch. Giant macarons, peanut butter sandwich, oatmeal cream pie and chocolate chip cookie. The chocolate chip cookie has a sprinkle of sea salt on top, exactly how I like mine. It was FULL of chocolate chips. It's the only way. It wasn't too sweet, but obvi is sweet as it's a chocolate chip cookie. It was soft and chewy and these remind me of chocolate chip cookies my mom used to make when I was a child in the Midwest and she sold them to the ragbrai cyclists. Buy lots of these. The oatmeal cream pie is like an elevated Little Debbie in a big way. If you like oatmeal cream pies, this does not disappoint. The oatmeal cookie isn't too dense and even with the filling is sweet but hopscotches the line of sweet/too sweet. Overall if you have a glass of milk or coffee or tea with this, it's a treat. The peanut butter sandwich cookie. Perfect for peanut butter lovers. The filling is also peanut butter. If you are a peanut butter lover, you need to eat this. The giant macarons, were pretty close to how you want macarons to taste. It was a tiny bit too sweet for me. But I'm sure it's completely fine with a cup of tea or coffee. Crisp exterior, chewy almond goodness with a soft vanilla Swiss buttercream filling. I like that it's not super dense filling. Will I buy from there again? Absolutely.

When J and I got engaged, I decided I wanted to shop around for the best value for our buck. I…read morewanted to interview at least 3 vendors in each category we were needing. Lori with Elegant Cake Creations was the 2nd wedding cake baker we interviewed. From start (the first phone call) to finish, Lori was a delight to work with. We felt terrible because we had to leave the tasting for another appointment scheduled. We honestly felt like we could have sat there with her discussing ideas for another hour and a half. Her prices are VERY VERY reasonable. We went with 1 six inch round cake and 150 cupcakes - 3 different flavors, fillings, and frostings. Pumpkin Spice with Cream Cheese Frosting. Vanilla with a Mixed Berry Filling (the fillings are strained to remove seeds). And Double Chocolate with an Orange Grand Mariner filling and a Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting. Unfortunately, the only bite of cupcake J and I had was the piece of the one we shoved in each others face. LOL But the taste I had was awesome! All of the cupcakes were GONE by the time we left the reception. I also surprised J with a custom made grooms cake (plus a sugar shoe), which was apparently too awesome looking to cut into the night of the wedding. From what I hear though, the flavor combination I went with (a mock of a pineapple upside down cake) was a hit with a local church group. All the custom work I can think of Lori did: - Cupcake wrappers made from heavy duty damask wrapping paper I found - Cupcake tower, all glass - Grooms Cake - sugar shoe - All sugar flower accents are handmade ....I'm sure there's more that Im just forgetting! Lori is an ARTIST! If I'm ever in need of any type of custom cake, I'm definitely going to contact Lori again!!

I have seen many food trucks while working on the various Arizona State University campuses, though…read moreI was recently introduced to The Scookie Bar, and what a treat it was (literally and figuratively!). There is a nice variety of sweet treats, and the service provided by the team inside the truck was stellar. One of our student organizations was hosting The Scookie Bar, and after walking around their event, you could score a ticket for a complimentary Scookie. As we pre-ordered so many as incentives for our students, I thought I'd give it a try. Unfortunately, something wasn't set up properly so we didn't have the cookies themselves, but we did have sundaes. We had six options to decide between. I went with The Standard consisting of vanilla ice cream, chocolate chips, and chocolate sauce, and on a normal day, there would have bene a chocolate chip cookie, too. The other five options included the Chocolate Lover, The Celebration, The Signature, Reese's Lover, and The VNA. While I enjoyed the sundae, I'm sure it would have been even better with the cookie included. The Scookie Bar is "where the scoop met the cookie" and serves freshly baked, warm deep-dish skillet cookies also known as scookies. They have a location at The Churchill in Downtown Phoenix, though I would assume I would more regularly see them when their food truck stops by ASU. Their Churchill location is closed on Monday but open Tuesday through Friday from 5-10 PM and Saturday and Sunday from Noon to 10 PM. If you want to order catering, it includes 2 hours of service and a 100 scookie minimum. They can provide a Build Your Own Menu where guests can choose the cookie, ice cream, and toppings, or they can choose from the Signature Scookie Menu which is what ASU did. They have been operating since 2016 in Phoenix. Now that I realize that I was missing the chocolate chip cookie, I need to try it again with that included! I definitely recommend this sweet treat to others.

Definitely great concept with a balanced flavor of the different sweetness of cookie, ice cream, and toppings.
